"Hey," Kelly yawned, walking into the kitchen to find Jason fixing breakfast.
"Hey," he smiled, handing her a plate full of food.
Kelly's stomach growled in anticipation.
Jason laughed, "Slept good?"
"Like a rock," she nodded.
"Feeling better?"
"Yea," she followed him to the table.
"Where's Carrie?"
"Taking a shower. So...tell me about this girl."
"She's gorgeous, of course."
"Of course," she giggled.
"And she's nice and all that mess," he laughed.
"Well, that's good. So, when's the wedding?"
"June."
"June?" Kelly raised her eyebrows.
"Beginning of June."
"Jason, that's like barely over a month away," Kelly pointed out.
"She wanted to get married right away," he shrugged.
"Am I even gonna get to meet her before?"
"Well, Mom said you'd be out of school, and I was hoping you would come out the week or two before hand and help out."
"Two weeks?" Kelly frowned. "I'll be missing a lot of work."
"I'd pay you."
"You don't have to pay me," she rolled her eyes.
"So you'll come?"
"Of course, I'll come," she smiled. "I wouldn't miss it."
"Perfect. Oh, and there's something else, I need to ask you."
"Ok?"
"Ok, so I was wondering if you would do me the honor of singing at my wedding?"
"Seriously?" her eyes widened.
"Absolutely," he nodded. "I was watching the video from the play. Kelly, I knew you could sing amazingly...but that was incredible."
She smiled softly, "I'd love to sing at your wedding."
"Awesome," he grinned, stealing a piece of bacon from her plate. "And I know that I'm stealing you away from your friends right at the end of your senior year, so you're welcome to invite one or two to come along with you. I'll pay for the plane and stuff."
"Sounds great," Kelly nodded. "Just, um, one thing..."
"Of course."
"No moose."
"No moose," Jason laughed in agreement.

"You sure you can't stay the rest of the weekend?" Kelly frowned as she stood beside Carrie, watching her brother putting his bag in the trunk of the rental car.
"I'm sure," Jason nodded. "I have work crazy early Monday morning, so I need to be home tomorrow getting some rest."
"Alright."
He smiled, pulling her into a hug.
"Thanks for coming," she hugged him tightly.
"It was a lot of fun," he nodded, letting her hug him as long as she wanted. He chuckled at the feeling of her burying her face in his chest. "I'm gonna see you in a few weeks, remember?"
"I know," she finally pulled back.
"Finish your senior year on a high note, ok?"
"Yea," she nodded.
"You've worked hard with choir and your grades and stuff. Make sure you finish strong."
"Mom talked to you?" she smiled.
"A little," he admitted. "Still not planning on going to college?"
"You didn't."
"I went for a couple years."
"Yea, but you didn't get your degree, and you're doing great. Why should I waste scholarships that could go to someone who actually wants it?"
"I'm doing great?" he raised an eyebrow. "I work my ass off for thirteen hour days at a job I'm miserable at."
Kelly sighed.
"But..."
She looked up at him.
"I know you...better than Mom, despite being around you less. I know how strong you are, and I know how determined you are. If singing is what you want to do, then go for it."
"You really think I have a shot?"
"I have no doubt that if you give it your all, you'll make it huge."
"Thanks, Jason," she beamed, hugging him again. "And I promise, I'll finish school strong."
"That's all I ask," he patted her back as she pulled away. "So," he turned to Carrie. "It was great meeting you."
"You too," Carrie smiled.
"I'll see y'all soon," he gave a final wave before getting into his car.
Carrie wrapped an arm around Kelly as he drove off.
"I hate it when he leaves," she sniffed.
"It's gonna be ok," Carrie kissed the top of her head as she pulled her into a hug. "Like he said, we'll see him soon...why will we see him soon?"
Kelly laughed softly, wiping her eyes, "The wedding is at the beginning of June. He wants me to go out a couple weeks before hand to help him set up and stuff, and he wants for me to sing at the wedding."
"That's great," Carrie smiled.
"He also said I can invite a friend," Kelly pulled back to look at her. "And I told him, I'd ask you."
"Me?"
"You want to come to Alaska?"
"Kell, I'd love to..."
"You'll just have to ask your parents," Kelly nodded. "I know. But you never know, right? Things have gotten better, right?"
"Somewhat, yea. I'll ask them," she pulled her back to her.
Kelly wrapped her arms around Carrie's waist, resting her head on her shoulder.
Carrie hugged her tightly, feeling Kelly's tears fall softly against her shoulder.
"I really hate it when he leaves."
"You'll see him again soon," Carrie soothed, pressing her lips against her temple.

"Woo!" Mary cheered.
"Go Carrie!" Lyndsey yelled.
"Y'all," Kelly laughed, seeing Carrie turn bright red on the field. "Don't embarass her."
"What? We're just cheering," Lyndsey pointed out. "It's the last game. She should be excited. She never has to be associated with this team again."
Mary laughed, "Shit, if I were her, I'd be jumping for joy right about now."
"Yea, but this is her last game," Kelly reminded. "It's not like she's gonna play in college."
"Are you saying she sucks?" Mary raised an eyebrow.
"Carre! Kelly said you suck!" Lyndsey called out.
"Dude," Kelly fussed as Carrie turned to the stands, confused. "I didn't, Care! I promise!"
Lyndsey laughed, "We should do this more often."
"It's the last game," Mary replied.
"No, like the four of us hang out."
Kelly nodded, "Definitely."
"Did the ball seriously just go through the first baseman's legs?" Mary raised an eyebrow.
"This is gonna be a long game," Lyndsey nodded.
"That guy definitely has the right idea," Mary pointed to a guy a couple rows down, sneaking a drink from a flask.
++++++++++++
"Cheer up girlie," Lyndsey smiled as Kelly wrapped an arm around Carrie. "Just think, you don't have to be embarassed like that ever again."
Carrie rolled her eyes, wiping a tear that escaped.
"Aw," Kelly pulled her into a hug. "It's ok, Care. You played a great last game. How about we all go get some pizza to celebrate?"
"Yea," she nodded, stepping back with a smile.
"Mary's buying!" Lyndsey announced, running to the car.
Mary chased after her, "Not unless you wanna walk home cause I have the keys!"
Kelly laughed, "I swear my friends are at the maturity level of nine year olds."
"Says the girl with two different colored shoes on today."
Kelly smiled, looking down at her feet, "I was feeling festive."
"Festive," Carrie laughed softly, putting her arm around her as they walked to the car. "So what would I have to do to be able to talk you into letting me buy your pizza?"
Kelly shook her head, "It was your last game, shouldn't I be paying?"
"You took off of work to come watch," Carrie pointed out. "I owe you."
She frowned.
"Please?" Carrie pouted.
"We'll see," Kelly nodded.
"I'll take that," Carrie grinned. "Does your mom know you're here?"
"Nope, she thinks I'm at work," Kelly shook her head. "Since I took time off for my birthday, my grounding's extended to Wednesday."
"You know, I remember there was a time when you swore you wouldn't be a bad influence on me," Carrie laughed.

Carrie sat at her desk, tapping her pen on her notebook, unable to concentrate on her homework any longer. She got up, yawning, and walked to her bathroom where she turned the shower on. She turned back at the sound of something tapping on her window.
Her eyebrows furrowed as she crossed back across her room cautiously. She smiled as she raised the window, helping Kelly inside. "What in the world are you doing?"
"It's Wednesday," Kelly reminded.
"Ok?"
"I'm no longer grounded, so I decided to come visit after work," she shrugged.
Carrie laughed, shaking her head.
"Carrie!" she heard her mother call from the bottom of the stairs.
Carrie's eyes widened, "Shoot, come on."
"What?"
"In the bathroom," Carrie pushed her through the door. "I'm gonna go see what she wants. Stay put?"
"Sure," Kelly nodded, hopping onto the bathroom counter. She waited patiently for Carrie to return, her feet moving back and forth as they dangled above the floor. Finally the door re-opened, and she grinned as the blonde walked back through the door, closing it behind herself.
"So hey," Carrie smiled, reaching up to hug her.
"Hey," Kelly laughed softly. "So what your mom wanted?"
"To know if I wanted her to bring me up some brownies once they were done in the oven."
"And you told her yes, right?"
"Um, no," Carrie shook her head.
"Why the heck not?"
"She wanted to come up to bring some brownies," Carrie looked at her pointedly.
"Oh..." Kelly nodded. "Me being here will totally get you in trouble, huh?"
"It's a school night," Carrie looked at her apologetically.
"I can leave if you want."
"No, of course not," she quickly replied. She reached up, placing a gentle hand on the Texan's cheek. "Stay."
Kelly smiled, "Ok."
"Good. Now, I'm gonna take a quick shower, but you stay in here in case my mom comes up, ok?" she turned back to lock the bathroom door.
Kelly nodded, closing her eyes.
Carrie smiled before quickly getting undressed and stepping into the shower. "So how'd work go today?"
Kelly opened her eyes, trying not to laugh at the bright pink flowers on the shower curtain before her. She stretched out on the bathroom counter, placing her hands behind her head, "Should I be talking? I mean, what if your mom comes in? Everything echos in bathrooms."
"So we're just gonna sit here in an awkward silence?"
"I don't think awkward's the right word."
Carrie laughed lightly.
"You can always sing," Kelly suggested.
"Yea, because that's not embarassing."
"How's it embarassing? You've sang in front of me hundreds of times."
"Alright fine, but no teasing."
"Deal," Kelly nodded, closing her eyes at the sound of Carrie's voice filling the small bathroom.
++++++++++++
Kelly felt something soft pressing against her lips as a pair of familiar hands cradled her face. She smiled.
Carrie pulled back an inch, watching as the shorter girl's eyes slowly opened, "You fell asleep."
"Your voice is soothing," she leaned up, kissing her back.
Carrie bent over further, allowing Kelly to lay back down on the counter. She placed a hand over her chest, holding onto the towel that was wrapped around her as she slowly broke the kiss, "How do you do that?"
"Do what? Kiss you? You taught me," she reminded.
"No," Carrie grinned. "I meant...you can just be so unabashedly honest sometimes."
"Honesty's important," Kelly replied simply.
"You're not like other people. You do know that, right?"
Kelly scrunched her forehead.
"Can you be honest with me again?"
"You look incredible right now...like this," she smiled softly.
"Why do you kiss me?"
"Because I want to."
Carrie kissed her sweetly, "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For not being like other people," she smiled, standing up straight.
"Where are you going?"
"Getting dressed," she giggled. "Plus, that was killing my back, standing like that."
"You could always join me on here," Kelly shrugged.
Carrie raised an eyebrow, "Did you just hit on me?"
"Maybe," she grinned playfully.
"We'd totally fall off of that thing."
"Does that mean you were considering it?"
"What? No...I mean...I was just..." Carrie blushed.
"Eh, you're probably right," Kelly closed her eyes again. "The bed's much more comfortable."
++++++++++
Carrie waited patiently as she and Kelly lay face to face. The short girl was biting her bottom lip, her eyes on Carrie's face, but her mind clearly somewhere's else as she got lost in thought.
"Green...no, blue. I like blue," Kelly nodded.
Carrie smiled, "I didn't ask what color you liked. I asked what was your favorite color."
"Blue."
"You sure?"
"Um...yea, I'm sure. What about you? Oh wait, let me guess...pink?"
"You'd think, right?" she laughed. "But no."
"Really? You sure do surround yourself with a lot of pink. And go back to that outfit you wore on the first day of class, I'd say you were downright obsessed with the color."
"You remember that?"
"Of course," she nodded. "Kinda hard to forget."
"Yea, pink's totally my mom's doing."
"Why am I not surprised?"
Carrie's smile faded.
"She really tries hard to make you into the perfect little frilly girl, doesn't she? I mean, I get where's she's coming from with your dad and everything...ok, I lie. I don't get it, but I can follow her train of thought, and it's a very crooked, twisted way of thought."
Carrie swallowed hard.
"I just...I feel sorry for her."
"You do?" Carrie looked at her, shocked. "Why?"
"Because. She's so busy trying to turn you into something you're not, that she's missing out on getting to see who you really are. And trust me...who you really are is pretty amazing, Care," she reached up to brush a tear off the taller blonde's cheek.
"Thanks," Carrie gave a small smile.
"I should get going," she stroked her cheek with her thumb.
"Do you have to? Can't you like call your mom and say you're studying or something?"
"You want me to stay?"
"Please?"
"Ok."
Carrie grinned as she leaned forward, kissing her softly. "Red," she whispered.
"Huh?"
"My favorite color is red," she nodded, surely.
Kelly smiled, her finger's tracing along Carrie's jawline. "That's a very bold color."
"You don't think I'm bold?" she raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know..." Kelly smirked.
Carrie pushed forward, laying Kelly on her back as she kissed her firmly. She felt Kelly's hands on her waist, under her shirt. She pulled back, her head spinning at how fast it had all happened. She stared down at Kelly, breathlesss. Her stomach tightened as the Texan stared back up at her, unshakenly. She reached out, grabbing the phone beside her bed and quickly dialed Kelly's number. She held the phone to the shorter girl's ear. "It's your mom. Tell her you're staying."
Kelly nodded, her hands still holding on to Carrie, "Hey Mom...no, I'm still at Carrie's...we're studying..."
Carrie leaned down, kissing her forehead. Her arm was shaking as she tried to balance on one hand. She felt Kelly's hands press into her more as she helped hold her up.
"So it's ok if I stay?" Kelly questioned, her eyes closed. "Ok, thanks Mom...love you too...bye."
Carrie tossed the phone aside, and Kelly immediately pulled her down, their lips crashing together.
