Chapter 4
****** Part 4
Tapping lightly, Adam stuck his head into the royal bed chambers just as Davey was getting out of the bath. "Well?"
"He drank the sleeping potion and thinks he raped me severely... I think I may have used too much blood." Davey said as he shrugged into his robe and shifted it around his wings, so that they could dry quicker.
Walking over to the bed, Adam pulled back the covers and laughed at the amount of pig's blood on the sheet. "Yeah, a little too much. I'rprirprised he didn't drag you too the healers as soon as he saw it."
"He told me to go see them today and to do as they said... Adam, I'm not sure he's as bad as he seemed yesterday." Davey said as he moved to the window seat and began to separate his feathers one by one.
"Why's that?" Adam asked as he moved over and took over the job for him, gently preening at the feathers until they lay flat and smooth.
"Well, he seemed really upset at the thought he had raped me." Davey all but purred as Adam smoothed quickly through his feathers.
"Maybe it was because he couldn't remember the act." Adam suggested as he finished one wing and went to the other.
"Maybe." Davey asked glancing over his shoulder.
"How are you feeling otherwise?" Adam asked as he finished the other wing and allowed Davey to play with his own white one. This was something they had done since they were both small children. It was partially for grooming, but mostly it was for comfort.
"Fine...s pls place is so big... and the people hate me already. He wouldn't even marry me, Adam." Davey leaned his face forward to the soft area between Adam's wings and wept.
Adam allowed him to cry himself out and then turned to hold him. "How about this, I'll go get the stuff and change the bed and then you can lay down and do as the healer says and rest."
Davey chuckled and nodded while wiping his tears away. "That'd be nice. After he passed out I couldn't get to sleep last night."
Adam stood and ahead brushing a hand over Davey hair went walking out to find the bed clothes.

Jade strolled through the market place, studying the variety of things the merchants had to offer. Various people would recognize and bow before him as he made his way from booth to booth. He accepted these with a nod and moved on, not finding what he was looking for.
"Looking for something special, princeling?" a soft voice made him turn and study a small man sitting at a booth with odd little trinkets.
"Possibly. Do you have something special?" Jade looked over the selection.
"Oh, nothing so wondrous out here... but maybe..." the man hummed and hawed a moment as he dug in a cloth bag by his side and drew out a velvet bag. Opening it with careful hands, the merchant spilled a long silver cord out. With a gentleness most people would use on an infant, the man held up the chain for Jade's inspection. "There are open gem sockets... If you would agree to purchase it, I would fit the sockets with the stones that are your name sake."
Jade looked over the fine silver chain belt and nodded. "It will do... when can I come for it?"
"It will be ready tomorrow, princeling." the man packed the chain away and bowed from the seat he had never left.
Jade gave him a nod and walked away, thinking about how it would look good around the waist of his bondmate.
He was just about to leave when the scream of a child made his heart stop and for a moment he was back five years old and a tiny White Wing was falling from the air. The prince shook it off and ran in the direction of the scream.
A White Wing child of perhaps two years sat screaming at crying as her parents were stoned in front of her. Jade growled at the sight and ran over before another stone could be thrown. "What is the meaning of this?"
One Black wing man frowned at him and then recognized him. As he bowed so did the others present. "I asked what is the meaning of this?"
"These White Wings think they can move in here just 'cause you made a bed slave out of their snot nosed prince. We were showing them otherwise." the leader said as he grinned, knowing how badly their prince hated White Wings. In fact, the man thought, he might just help.
Jade turned and gestured to the nearest guard. "Yes, my prince?"
"I want the heads of all of the men who stoned these innocent people. If either of them are still alive, take them to the palace healer." Jade ordered, making all of the men present pale.
"But, Prince Jade-" the leader of the men start only to find his prince's blade at his throat.
"You have forfeit your life for the atrocity you have committed this day." Jade lowered his sword and then tucked it away as the guards gathered up the men who had committed the crime.
Jade looked around at the people milling about and spoke to them. "I will not stand for things such as this happening, not only within this city, but within my father's kingdom. Know this, any who would raise a sword against a White Wing simply because of their wing color will die as these men are to. Their prince is to pay for the mistakes made by their country, not the innocent people who were only following their sovereign."
The people nodded at their prince's words, and some even worried for the health of the White Winged prince.
Turning, Jade found the guards closing the eyes of the woman and the man was speaking weakly with a guard. Jade walked over and knelt at the man's side.
"Prince..." the bloody man whispered as he tried to sit up.
Jade held him down and shook his head. "Don't."
"Please... Ami... please... my daughter..." the man looked around and focused on the tiny girl still sitting where she had been left.
The prince stood and moved over to where she sat and gathered the dirty child into his arms and came back to his side. "Here she is."
"Ami... my dove." the man touched her cheek lovingly before looking Prince Jade right in the eyes. "Would you see that she finds a good home, Prince?"
Jade was about to tell him that a he was being taken to a healer when a guard caught his eynd snd shook his head. "She will be raised in the palace and trained to be a lady. I promise you this."
The man's eyes brightened for a second before fading and closing.
"Great Southern Winds, carry him gently with his mate." Jade said and many people echoed it as the Prince stood the little girl in his arms.
Ami looked at him with huge blue eyes and sniffled.
"Don't worry, child. You will be taken care of." Jade told her and to his surprise she followed her wings around herself and snuggled up to him, where she went to sleep.
Sighing, Jade walked away feeling odd to have a child in his arms.
