Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. I do not know Gackt. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Disclaimer: The only part of Gackt I own is one of his cd's.
noTes: Thanks to the reviewers! I now have 18 reviews and I'm thinking that's a pretty good number since no one seems to read many Gackt fics nowadays. *sigh* But that's okay. I could be wrong! I have plenty of hits on this fics and I'd really appreciate you putting in your opinion so I can keep you reading the story. The hit number doesn't seem much to me because it's just showing how many people read the fic and don't give a damn enough to review. To those who did: You are good people. *Cloud hands over the cupcakes everyone was promised* He made 'em so if they taste bad blame him not me. I'm no cook so I didn't even try.
I've decided I'm dedicating this WHOLE story to my dear friend Fenris Mourningstar. She's been great with reviews and helps me out so much! I've never really written a vampire fic so she's helping me along the way with the little hints she gives me. Instead of constantly giving her special thanks, I'll dedicate the whole story to her! ^_^ She also gets double cupcakes. So now there will be a little dedication thing at the beginning of every new chapter so she can remember how special she is and how she helps move the fic along.
Also, special thanks goes out to Laamberry for the really nice review. I'm glad you like the story so far and it's really cool you're writing a book. So am I, actually. Maybe we could switch off and read each other's? My style for my fanfics is a lot different from my style that I use to write my original fiction. In my originals, I put a lot more detail into the characters because I have to make them up from my own mind. I don't really do that in fanfiction because I assume if you're reading it you already now what the characters look like. I only have msn messenger and if you'd like to add me its thatisit007@hotmail.comor you can just email me there or email me via yahoo. It's bloodied_vampire_version_1@yahoo.com I only request you don't copy my style too much. Don't take away the fun of creating your own. ^_~
So, I promise I'll make the author notes shorter from now on if it's annoying anyone. I just like to say things to reviewers and so on. Now for the new chap in which Hyde goes crazy/drunk!
My Immortal

Chapter Five
~
Since Gackt had just arrived in the city, he was taking the opportunity to take in the sights. It wasn't a large city, but it was bigger than most he had been to. The lights of the city created a beautiful atmosphere and it seemed perfectly fitting with the winter weather. Small snowflakes were falling to the ground and creating a thin layer of white on top of the ground.
Suddenly, a gloved hand was waving in front of his face, bringing him back to reality. He looked down at Hyde who had been waving.
"I asked where you wanted to eat."
"Oh, well," he hadn't really thought about that. He figured Hyde had already picked a place out to take him to. He decided to not pick any place too fancy. Hyde would be paying and he would only be eating the food to throw it back up again. He couldn't digest normal food anymore so on the very rare occasion when someone asked him to go out for food, he ate to humor them, then excused himself to go to the restroom, throwing up whatever he'd eaten.
"Wherever you want to go. It doesn't matter to me. You're the one paying after all," he told Hyde.
"Okay…How's Italian sound?"
"Perfect," Gackt feigned enthusiasm. Maybe he should just tell Hyde he was anorexic and not waste his money? That probably wouldn't go over too well.
Hyde led him to a small Italian restaurant. It was filled with white lights and a small silver Christmas tree with a few ornaments and a string of the same white lights. Apparently, the restaurant wasn't going for the gaudy look, but more of the peaceful snow like appearance. Gackt thought it looked rather nice.
A man showed them to their seat, passed them some menus and said he would be back in a short while with some wine. The place was small, but anyone could tell they were trying to look like a nicer restaurant despite the casual dress of the customers.
"This is nice," he commented to Hyde as he took in the scenery.
"I've only been here once. I was younger though. It looks a lot different now, a lot nicer."
The waiter returned, pouring wine into two glasses and setting them on the table, leaving behind the bottle and telling them he would take their orders in a moment.
"I've never had wine before," Hyde admitted, picking up the glass and looking at the contents.
"It's really good," Gackt said. If there was one thing he missed, it was the taste of wine. With being a vampire, he had no reason to drink anymore, with the exception of blood, and times likes these reminded him of those simple pleasures and how much he really missed them.
"So, aren't we supposed to give a toast to something?" Hyde asked, moving the liquid in the glass, curious of what it would taste like.
"If you think it's necessary, but I don't really have anything to make a toast to," Gackt responded, picking up his own glass.
"Okay then, let's make a toast to making toasts."
"What?" Gackt gave him a confused look.
Hyde laughed, "Well, neither of us can think of anything to toast to, so let's just give a toast to toasting because we want to make a toast!"
Gackt laughed and shook his head, "You're a little strange you know."
"So I'm told."
They both raised their glasses, bringing them together for the soft click of glass, and then drank a sip of the wine.
Hyde swallowed then sat his glass back down, "It's not so bad."
Gackt shook his head, suppressing his laughter, drinking more of the wine he knew he'd have to throw up later.
"Order whatever you want, this stuff isn't really that expensive so it's no big deal."
As Gackt looked over the menu, he wondered exactly what Hyde mean by not expensive. Everything was twenty dollars or over. Maybe he was just trying to be nice? From what he could tell, Hyde had money, but not enough to just throw away and treat guest to nice dinners. This would probably be a one time thing, so he should enjoy it. Even if he couldn't enjoy it in the way most people would.
They made their orders when the waiter returned for the third time, Gackt ordered whatever Hyde had ordered. He'd only been to an Italian restaurant so he wasn't exactly sure what was good or not.
Hyde took another drink of his wine, "So, we haven't really told each other that much about ourselves…so…"
"There's not much to say. I'm really boring actually."
Hyde took yet another sip of the wine, setting down the now empty glass, "You said you were at a dead end. What happened?"
"Oh, that. Well, I was fired a while ago and had to claim bankruptcy and never could get another job so I ended up broke and got kicked out of my home. I've been wondering around for about a week now."
"Saving people's lives?" Hyde asked with a smile.
He laughed, "Something like that," he said with a sad smile.
"Is something wrong?"
"What? Oh, no. It's nothing.
"What? Oh, no. It's nothing.
"You sure?"
"I'm fine, just hungry," he said hoping to convince the other man.
Hyde nodded before helping himself to more wine. Gackt shook his head. For someone who'd never had wine before, he was certainly enjoying it.
"So, what about you?"
"Me? Well, I've lived her for about a year and I was going to college, but I just decided to quit. Hasn't been the experience they always promised it would be," he shook his head, "So now I'm just taking a break until I figure something out. I guess we're both in the same boat, huh?"
"I guess so. Don't you have a job or anything?"
Hyde laughed, "I'm one of those spoiled kids. My parents send me a lot of money every month. They said they would help me out with rent and college, I was never expected them to pay for just about everything."
"Better to be spoiled than struggling. Most people aren't that lucky, specially once they get into college."
"That'll probably all end though when they find out I've quit," he drank down some more wine, "I got a scholarship though and that pretty much paid for everything."
Gackt nodded.
They sat for a while in silence, Hyde drinking down more and more wine as time progressed, before the food arrived. They ate in silence, Hyde drinking as much wine as humanly possible and giving Gackt the uneasy feeling that he would walk out the restaurant drunk.
They finished eating, Hyde drinking down one last glass in a single gulp, and paid the bill with a credit card after searching through his wallet with squinted eyes.
Gackt followed Hyde out the door making sure he wouldn't fall over. Obviously, Hyde had had no alcoholic beverages in his life and was for the first time drunk.
He gave Gackt a lopsided smile before asking, "Where you wanna go now?"
Gackt tried not to laugh at the slurred question, "I think we should go home. You're drunk."
"What? Oh my God! I'm drunk everybody!" he yelled out to the empty street, flailing his arms around and spinning.
"Okay, okay., now everybody knows so you can calm down now," Gackt put his hands on Hyde's shouldn't to steady him.
Hyde kept nodding and looking at the ground. Suddenly, he just started laughing and gasping for air. Gackt had no idea what was going on inside Hyde's drunken mind.
"We should go dancing! Yeah, I like dancing! You wanna go? I'm a really good dancer," he as now holding Gackt's hands and trying to spin him around.
"We're going home before you hurt yourself, Hyde," Gackt was trying to settle the other man down.
Hyde gave Gackt a disappointed look, "But doesn't dancing sound like more fun?"
"Let's just go home and get you to bed," dancing didn't sound like fun at all. The last time he'd gone was with Mana about a week before he'd been killed.
"Umm…" He squinted his eyes again before looking up at Gackt, the same drunken grin on his face from earlier, "I bet you're a great dancer!"
"No. I'm terrible, so let's just go home."
"Oh…Okay…Ouch," Hyde whimpered as he accidentally stumbled over his own feet and started to fall to the ground. Luckily, Gackt caught him by the arm before he could fall completely to the concrete.
"It's rainin' men!" he sang as he started some drunken dance and holding onto Gackt so he couldn't fall over again.
This is going to be a long night, Gackt thought as he tried to pull Hyde back in the direction of his house.
They made it halfway down the street before Hyde emitted a loud squeal and looked in the window of a closed shop. It was an old fashioned doll shop from what Gackt could tell. Five china dolls sat in the window, two standing beside each other and the others sitting down in small wooden doll's furniture. They were dress in lace gowns with faces painted in deep red makeup. Gackt felt a little depressed from the display. Everywhere he turned, something else was there to remind him of Mana and how the other man was gone, never to return to him.
"Aren't they pretty?" Hyde asked, tugging on the taller man's sleeve.
Gackt merely nodded, eyes looking away from the small dolls.
"And one time, I went to the park and there were all these ducks there an' I gotta feed 'em and they were quackin' and it was really fun," Hyde started giggling. Gackt wasn't sure what Hyde was talking about. Apparently, in his drunken head he'd been telling Gackt some story and just now started speaking it out loud. Hyde was still giggling when he started pulling Gackt away from the window.
"Dance time!" Hyde claimed as he pulled Gackt down the street.
"W-Wait! You need to go home Hyde!"
Hyde looked at Gackt for a minute, "You...don't wanna dance with me?"
"You're drunk. We need to go home. We can go dancing some other time. I promise."
"R-Really?"
Gackt nodded and Hyde started to smile, but it was suddenly interuppted when he bent over, held himself tightly and emptied the contents of his stomach all over the sidewalk. Gackt frowned at the display while Hyde started shaking and tears welled up in his eyes.
"I-I'm going to d-die," Hyde whimpered, slowly walking over to Gackt.
"You're not going to die..." Gackt sighed taking Hyde in his arms.
"A-All my-my insides are falling ou-out. I w-wanna go home."
Does he really think he's going to die?
Gackt ended up carrying Hdye home, the younger man shaking every few moments and mumbling things Gackt couldn't understand.
When they'd reached the door, Hyde had started twitching and laughing for some odd reason. Gackt had easily pulled Hyde's house key from his coat pocket and shoved in the keyhole, opening the door and stepping inside. Still holding Hyde, he leaned against the door to toe off his shoes and leave them behind as he carried Hyde to his bedroom, lying him gently off the bed and removing his shoes. He removed his coat and tucked him into bed. He turned to leave before he heard Hyde's soft voice speak up.
"Don't go...Please?"
Gackt smiled. Hyde sounded so cute, he couldn't possibly deny him the simple request, "I'll be right back okay?" Hyde nodded and Gackt left the room, taking his coat off and throwing it on his own bed. He went to the bathroom and with a simple act of shoving a finger down his throat, he emptied the contents of his stomach into the toilet, frowning at the feel of it. He washed his mouth out with a drink of water and returned to the other man who was still lying in bed on the edge of sleep.
Hyde patted the bed hoping Gackt would take the hint and lie down beside him, "Sleep in here okay? I promise not to throw up on you," he smiled weakly.
Gackt couldn't help but smile at him and lie down beside him, pulling the smaller man into his arms. Hyde was asleep in no time and Gackt lay there awake, knowing he would have to leave earlier that morning so he wouldn't burn to a crisp...But right now felt so perfect. He couldn't keep his eyes of the man lying in his arms. It felt so perfect and peaceful...Almost like the way it had when Mana was still alive and they would watch the stars at night before pulling the curtains over the window and falling asleep in each other arms as the sun rose in the sky.

Yeah! We're slowly learning more about Gackt's past and his relationship with Mana as the story moves on. I hope everyone likes how the story is going so far. I like to write long stories, so if it seems to more rather slow, it's supposed to. I like to write long stories because I don't like making everything fly by really fast and leave readers wondering. I also work better when I can write many chapters than trying to plan out a whole plot that will fit into four chapters. I'm not very good at writing short fics at all!
Yeah for drunk Hyde! I had to use my imagination because I haven't really been around too many drunk people and have never drank myself. I hope it wasn't too bad, I thought it was a little funny. Especially the dancing thing. I don't really dance that often myself. I thought it was cute he wanted to take Gackt dancing. And about him thinking he's going to die: I have this same fear. I refuse to vomit because I think I'll die! And I probably will!
