A/N: This chapter is a really SHORT filler.
But the next part is written and will be added when I get some reviews.
Days rolled by, without us seeing Riley. Ellie talked more and more every day and Jenn became more and more outgoing. I and Gerard talked about marriage, but we didn't settle on a day.
"Dad, please stop I'm trying to do my homework" Jenn said trying to sound annoyed but failed miserably. Gerard snickered and continued teasing her, poking her and tickling her. I smiled as I fed Ellie with another spoon of mashed potatoes.
"And this ship is foooor…" I said to Ellie, waiting for her reply. "Daddy" she giggled and I cooed her as I fed her the spoon.
You know the feeling of calm before a storm? I think this was it. Everything was going fine, but somewhere inside I knew something bad was coming our way, something was going to happen.
I shook the thoughts of my mind and kept feeding Ellie as Jenn continued trying to do her homework with Gerard blowing raspberries on her shoulder. With another 'this ship is for' I continued feeding Ellie until her food was gone. I then cleaned her off with a napkin. I scowled Gerard for disturbing Jenn as I picked Ellie out of her chair and took her upstairs for her nap.

"All your two's?" "HA, go fish Gee-tard!" I couldn't help but snort with laughter as Jenn used her new nickname for Gerard. Sure she called us both 'dad' but sometimes he was 'Gee-tard' and I was 'Pansy'. Jenn had her moments. Gerard glared at me and told Jenn to not use those words. But who could blame her? I and Gerard used the word 'fuck' every day.
"Sorry, go fish dad" Jenn said rolling her eyes. "Better" Gerard replied as he took a card from the pile on the table. Next it was Jenn's turn, but I put my cards down and yawned.
"I'm gonna go check on Ellie, I'll be right back" I announced before getting up and headed for the stairs. There came no reply since Jenn and Gerard had begun arguing about the rules, and the fact that Gerard thought Jenn was cheating. Which she most likely was, but she's eight, who cares.
I reached the top of the stairs and smiled when I heard 'I SWEAR I DIDN'T SEE THAT QUEEN!' from Jenn. I opened Ellie's door quietly and walked inside and over to her crib.
"Hello angel, you up?" I asked in a hush tone as I leaned over to look at her. Instantly I could tell something was wrong.
