Hey y'all! I'm baaaaaack! A big thanks to everyone who's reviewed so far. *blows kisses* I love ya! Anyways, as per my usual habit, the song for this chapter is 'As the World Falls Down' by David Bowie. It's from one of my all time favorite movies, 'Labyrinth'. And also, so you can get an idea of what Gackt-sama is wearing, here ya go:

Chapter 4: At the Ball
Once again she drifted into dreamscape, her inner world now forming a ballroom around her. She looked around the ballroom, finding herself at the top of an elegant staircase, a large number of dancers twirling around on the dance floor below. She looked down, seeing herself in a white ball gown that seemed very familiar to her. 'This gown....' She thought, feeling her hair pulled up into a tight braided bun. She looked at the gloves on her hands and felt a tiara on her head, nested snuggly in her hair. She didn't know what else to do, so she began to walk down the staircase, feeling a pair of diamond earrings hanging in her earlobes and seeing the edges of glass and silver shoes on her feet. 'You've gotta be kidding me...' She thought. She looked down at the dancers, all dressed in shades of black, gold, silver, red, deep dark blues and greens. All their faces were hidden by elaborate masks, some tied back, some held up on sticks. She herself had no mask at all, but she could feel faint traces of glitter on her cheeks.
Many of the dancer's masked faces turned to her while they danced, as if she were the very center of attention here. The song playing seemed familiar too, like she'd heard it somewhere before. 'So I guess I'm Cinderella tonight...' She thought as she looked around at the dancers. She clearly stood out in her white gown, while the rest of the colors of the ball was everything but.
It was if she shone like the North Star here. The dancers began to part slowly like the Red Sea, a path into leading further into the ballroom forming right in front of her. She listened to the song in the air, shivering slightly as she kept walking, the halls lit by candles while the ballroom was lit by a large candlelit gold, diamond and crystal chandelier.
The dancers on the other side of the ballroom began to part as well as another figure entered the room. "His lordship has arrived." “The prince has arrived at last.” "His Highness has finally arrived." "He looks so handsome." She could hear some of the dancers whispering to themselves as she saw another figure entering the ballroom from another lavish staircase.
When the lord reached the bottom of the staircase, he slowly walked down the path the dancer's had made for him, walking towards Quinn. He was dressed in black and gold, a black mask hiding half of his face.
The unmasked woman felt herself blushing, beginning to wish that she also had a mask right now. She only began to curtsy to the lord as he approached her, keeping her face as low as possible.
The masked man, in turn, bowed to her like a proper gentleman, offering her his hand to dance. Quinn blushed but slowly took her 'suitor's' hand that he offered her. The dancers once again moved themselves, this time giving the couple plenty of room to dance in.
As they began to dance, a soft gasp escaped the blonde’s painted lips when she was able to see his eyes behind his mask. "Gackuto-sama...?" She asked as he began to spin her around the room in a sort of waltz.
Her dance partner smiled faintly and nodded to her, confirming her informed guess to be correct. Quinn blushed, his one hand holding her hand in his, and feeling his other hand on the middle of her back rather than on her waist. Gackt pulled her body a little closer to his own gently, his fingers stroking her back a little.
The young woman felt her heart racing as he pulled her closer to him. "Is all of this going to disappear on the stroke of midnight?" She asked him softly, staring up into his soft blue eyes.
He didn't answer right away, gazing softly into her own eyes as well, so drawn in by her natural shade of sapphire. But he finally shook his head. "No my dear, it will not." He told her. Quinn slowly leaned her head against his chest, hearing his heart beating steadily. Their bodies swayed slowly to the music as he wrapped his arms around her gently.
She slowly reached up and removed his mask, staring at his beautiful face. Gackt stared back at her own gorgeous face while still leaning closer, torturously slow.
"Gackuto-sama..." She whispered softly, her breath washing over his lips and chin.
A shudder of delight ran from head to toe of his body from her soft breath on his lips, lips that soon met hers in a gentle, yet passionate kiss. The young American woman shut her eyes, gladly accepting his kiss. His hands rested on the small of her back and on the back of her head, keeping her close to him throughout their kiss.
She began to deepen the kiss, moaning faintly. Gackt's heart skipped a bit from her tiny moans, like the pleasurable sounds of an angel in her voice.
Quinn broke the kiss after a moment, wanting to confess her love for him. But she was one of millions of girls who felt the same way. Tears filled the brims of her eyes, her lower lip trembling. One of his hands now rested on her cheek, gazing softly and lovingly into those eyes of deep ocean blue. His other hand caressed up her back and onto her face, wiping her tears aside. "You taste so divine... Quinn..." He whispered to her, saying her real name for the first time.
Her eyes widened, hearing him say her name. Her real name. "How did you...?" She began to ask. "Know your name?" He finished for her before smirking slightly, leaning in closer. "I can see it in your eyes..." "My eyes?" She asked, confused.
He stared deeper into her eyes, pulling her so their chests were touching. "Yes." Was all he said, keeping how he knew that to himself.
"I'm only one of millions of girls who must have dreams like this every night..." She said. Gackt held her cheeks gently in his hands. "I'm only one man...who won't stop dreaming of you alone..." "Please... I can't be the only woman you'd dream of..." She said. His warm breath ghosted over her lips. "I couldn't lie to you." She shut her eyes at his words, gasping as she felt his warm breath on her skin.
Hearing that tiny intake of air made the idol's heart flutter. "I love you..." He whispered. Quinn opened her eyes wide at his words. "Nani?" Gackt smiled slightly wider and repeated himself. "I love you..." "Do you love me? Or only this me here in this dream world?" She asked softly.
His lips pressed against hers before breaking away slowly. "I love you no matter what world we're in." He answered.
She hugged him, trying to hold back tears of joy. Gackt in turn wrapped his own arms around her too, comforting her in his embrace. She gasped slightly as she felt him pull them back into a dance, but still keeping her close.
Gackt's eyes never left her own, smiling softly to her while they shared a romantic dance together. 'I don't want to wake up from this dream...' He thought to himself while he held this angel of perfection against him.
Quinn smiled at him gently, feeling like a princess in a fairy tale. "Gackuto-sama..." She said softly, just loving the sound of his name. The sound of her voice saying his name was magical, time after time. To him, it was as if she had the voice of an angel.
"Aishiteru..." She whispered to him. The ‘prince’ closed his eyes slowly hearing that, that simple word that somehow spurred people into such wonderful states of emotion.
Her eyes widened slightly when she heard a grandfather clock beginning to toll the current time. Midnight. Quinn felt her heart racing, her body pulling away from his slowly as she turned and saw the time on the face of the elaborate clock. The vampiric lord looked at her, wondering what was wrong. "Quinn?"
She couldn't stop herself as she took one last look at him before turning and running towards the staircase she'd entered from. She should have remembered. Midnight was when 'Cinderella' had to leave. And the glass shoes on her feet made her the princess right now.
"Quinn, matte." He said going after her as she ran up the stairs. She turned back once, seeing some of the women dancers stopping him as she ran away, her one glass slipper coming off her foot before she turned and ran out of the castle. Moments after she was out of sight, he broke free of the women's grip only to find her glass slipper on the staircase. His princess had vanished.

Quinn opened her eyes, a slight sweat on her forehead. She sat up and looked at the time. It was 8:58. 'That worked out nicely...' She thought sarcastically. 'Anything can happen in a dream... Even your God of Music and Sex saying that he loves you when you've never met him...' She told herself. A few knocks were heard on her bedroom door. "You awake already?" Allen said, he'd actually gotten up earlier somehow. The blonde looked at her friend, a sad smile on her face. Allen poked his head into the room, despite it being early morning, his hair looked fine compared to it's usually mess it usually was. "Come on, time to get up." He said rather cheerfully and politely but then noticed that sad look on her face. "You ok? Did you have a nightmare or something?"
"No... Another dream about him..." She said. "But I was Cinderella..." "Ooooooh... I get it." Allen said guessing what she meant since he knew the story. "My favorite fairy tale betrays me..." She said with a soft chuckle. "Cheer up Quinn, you know I feel down when your upset too." He said to her, hoping to cheer her up somehow. She nodded. "I know. Besides... I'm finally going to meet him today, so I can't be crying."
Allen finally stepped into the room to comfort his closest friend. He was wearing an old fashioned suit with a red ribbon bow tie around his neck. He sat down next to her and hugged her. She smiled at his hug. "Now get out so I can change." She said with a slight smirk. "Aww, I can't watch?" He joked before quickly leaving the room at the risk of his health.
***********************
Gackt woke slowly, sitting up and looking at the clock by his bed. The clock read 9:04 AM. He let out a sigh and debated on whether he should go back to sleep for another ten minutes or so. Remembering that today, he didn't have the time, he got up and slowly walked into the bathroom, wiping a single tear from his eye. 'She loves me...' He told himself, realizing that he loved his 'dream girl' as well. Each time he could speak her name so easily in his dreams, yet he could never recall her name when he was awake. He hated that.
"The gods play such cruel games..." He said to himself as he stood infront of the sink and looked at his reflection in the mirror. He shut his eyes slowly, remembering how lovely she had looked in this dream. She had looked like a true fairy tale princess. He wanted to hurt himself for not trying to chase after her in the dream. Yet at the same time, it had felt like he couldn't chase her in the dream.
"Cinderella..." The name slowly fell from his lips, surprising him a bit. It confused him a bit, but he did notice that what was happening was very similar. If he was to play the part of the Prince, he would have to go out and find his princess, who was waiting for him somewhere. A tiny smile crossed his lips, hope filling his heart. "I will find you, my Cinderella."
