A/N: Sorry it’s taken so long to update! My computer has been a little jacked up but it’s back and working like a charm =D Thanks for your patience!
The kiss broke with them both gasping for breath and forcefully rutting against each other, panting, groaning, and letting their hands roam over their bodies. Zack screamed and felt his hot seed seep into his boxers and pants; Matt thrust only a few more times before he groaned Zack’s name and a large stain began to form on the front of his jeans.
“Hey Raven, you wanna get lunch?” Matt asked peeking into her bunk. Raven squeaked in surprise and whipped her computer shut, “Uh, yeah, sure Matt.” She stuttered, a bright blush coloring her cheeks. She’d been thinking about getting lunch before she was…distracted. Matt raised an eyebrow but she scooted out of her bunk quickly and dragged him to the door.
It had been a week since the change of her body and in that time her mind had been going through its own change. Boobs, not interesting anymore. The smooth muscled planes of Matt’s chest, very interesting. It was a saving grace that she had found the fan fiction havens for Avenged Sevenfold. Though now she was staring into space thinking about the various erotic stories she had read and blushing furiously around her band mates.
“Raven are you okay?” Matt asked once they were outside. She blushed and nodded. Matt gave her a skeptical look, “Uh-huh. You’ve been acting weird for a couple days. What’s up?”
“It’s…nothing. I’m still trying to get used to this.” She said waving a hand at her body. Matt still didn’t look appeased but changed the subject, “So what do you wanna do for lunch?”
Raven shrugged, “I dunno, I’m not starving or anything. We could try that sandwich place.” She suggested. Matt’s lips quirked into a half smile, what she had started calling his “hungry smile” he only did it when he was hungry. She resisted the urge to take his hand while they walked across the street. The traffic was unusually sparse for high noon on a Wednesday.
The sun beat down on the black top, the heat creating rippling apparitions in the air. It had been atrociously hot all week, thankfully the humidity had been low, but still, walking the few blocks to the small deli seemed to take everything she had. He legs ached and the heat was making her head swim.
The cool air of the deli was completely refreshing, but she remained achy and her head started to throb. The thick smell of bread and various lunch meats had once seemed tantalizing, now they made her a little nauseas.
“Raven, you okay?” Matt asked quietly. Raven looked up at him and gave him a weak smile, “Yeah…but I think I’m gonna skip lunch.” She really just wanted to sit down. Matt’s brow wrinkled with worry, “Are you sure? You were hungry ten minutes ago.”
Raven sighed and finally gave in to the urge to rest her legs, “Maybe it’s just the heat.” She conceded, but her stomach was still churning. Matt sat across from her, “I’ll get you a kid’s meal or something.” He murmured pressing his palm against her forehead. She nodded, suddenly aware of the few people in the deli staring at them. She blushed but Matt’s hand was a small comfort and she wasn’t willing to give it up.
“I’ll be right back.” He finally said getting up. Raven nodded and leaned back in the hard plastic chair. She needed some Advil and a nap.
The walk back to the bus seemed ten times longer than the short trek to the sandwich shop. It was a hundred degrees hotter, the air was almost as thick as water, and her whole body was stiff and sore. The bus was a shiny black oasis in the desert of asphalt and concrete.
The air conditioning washed over them like an arctic blast and she sighed gratefully, the three steps up the bus had felt like climbing a mountain. “I’m gonna go lay down.” She said tiredly. Matt nodded, “I’ll wake you up in a couple hours. If you’re not feeling better then I’m taking you to the doctor.” His tone left no room for argument and she wasn’t feeling up to debating with him so she nodded tiredly and stumbled off to her bunk.
A jolt of pain tore her from dreams and into a nightmare. Her stomach churned more violently than before, her mouth was alternating between bone dry and over salivating; the first sign that she was seconds away from emptying her stomach. Literally rolling out of her bunk she hit the floor and lurched to the bathroom just in time.
She sank down in front of the toilet with her arms wrapped around her stomach; a deep knot of throbbing pain had her curling on the floor whimpering. Her back hurt, her legs still hurt, and she still felt ill. No matter how tightly she curled up or how hard she pressed her fist into her stomach the pain persisted and radiated through her body. She passed out again.
“Raven, Raven wake up baby, what’s wrong?” Johnny’s voice cut through the haze of pain, still it was distant. She was alternating between shivering and sweating and the pain had morphed into something inhuman. Maybe she was dreaming of Johnny’s voice and Jimmy’s face above her. All that was missing was a unicorn or something.
“Raven you gotta tell us what hurts.” Jimmy said.
“Stomach hurts.” She shivered and squeezed her eyes shut, she was cold and hot and she felt like she was going to vomit again.
Jimmy was not dealing well with this. Raven was curled in the fetal position whimpering, feverish yet chilled, and the tiniest bit delusional. “We gotta get her to the hospital, where the fuck is Matt?” he asked frantically.
“With the crew.” Johnny said getting up and running to go find the singer.
“Whoa, hold up.” Brian said, far too calm for the situation, Johnny ignored him and continued off the bus, Brian crouched next to Jimmy. Jimmy stared at him unsure if he wanted to throttle him or listen to what he had to say, he was leaning toward the throttling though.
“Jimmy, she doesn’t need to go to the hospital,” he was looking very uncomfortable, a light blush coloring his cheeks, “she’s…ah, she’s…a woman Jimmy.”
Jimmy stared at him, “No fucking shit.” He snapped sarcastically. Brian’s blush deepened, “No…she’s…she’s,” he rubbed his forehead and took a deep breath, “she’sonherperiod.” He said in a rush. Jimmy took another second to stare at him and then he felt his own cheeks color, “Oh…oh, oh.” He shook off his embarrassment when Raven struggled to a sitting position and puked before collapsing back to the floor. He gave Brian a beseeching look, “What do we do?”
“I don’t fucking know, it’s not something I have to deal with!” He said shrilly. The door burst open and Matt and Johnny came to a thudding stop by the bathroom, “What the fuck is going on?” Matt demanded. There was an edge of panic to his voice. Brian turned red again, “It’s nothing life threatening Matt.” He reassured. Matt stared at him incredulously, “Johnny just ran over to tell me Raven needed to go to the hospital and now you’re telling me ‘it’s nothing serious.’ What the fuck is going on!”
“She’s…menstruating.” Jimmy mumbled. An uncomfortable silence followed that short announcement until Matt cleared his throat, “How…how do you know it’s not something more serious?”
Brian ran a hand through his hair pulling it slightly, “My cousin. She used to have really bad cramps too, just like this. My mom used to pick her up from school and bring her over to our house when her mom couldn’t get off work. She spent half the day sleeping and throwing up.”
The room was quiet again. “So…what do we do?” Johnny finally asked. Brian shrugged helplessly, “I dunno.”
“You just said your cousin had to deal with this!” Jimmy accused. Brian threw his hands up, “I didn’t study her! I just let my mom handle it!”
“Fuck, what’re we gonna do?” Johnny whimpered, “We gotta help her.”
Matt stepped in and gently picked her up, she whined but didn’t struggle; he took her to his bunk and carefully set her down. “I’m gonna call Val.” He declared pulling out his phone. He hit a speed dial and hoped she wasn’t still angry at him.
When she had called after Raven’s change she had been pissed that he would allow a woman she had never met to hang with her boys. Usually her protective maternal instincts amused Matt, now they were annoying. Since the call she hadn’t called, texted, e-mailed, or tried to contact him. The other three were huddled around him, fussing with Raven, waiting anxiously for Val to help them navigate the murky waters they found themselves in.
“Have you called to apologize?” the lilting voice demanded. Matt let out a breath of relief, “Val…I…I’m gonna tell you something really, really fucking crazy but you gotta believe me and, please, you gotta help me.” Before she could either hang up or start yelling at him again he told her what had happened to Zack.
The line was silent, Matt held his breath and waited; it was a slim chance she would believe anything he said but he was the only person he trusted to help them with Raven.
“Okay Matt…you’re either seriously bullshitting me, or it’s true. I’ve been over to Zacky’s house twice since Raven showed up and the place still looks deserted. So I’m going to believe you, but I swear to god if you’re pranking me I’m gonna kick you so hard in the balls your ancestors will feel it.” She said reluctantly. Matt nodded though she couldn’t see, “It’s true I promise. Now I need your help.” He paused suddenly self-conscious of what he was asking.
“Well…” Val prompted. Raven whimpered and curled into the fetal position. Shoving aside his masculine insecurities he took the plunge, “We’re pretty sure Raven is…she’s on her period and we don’t know what to do.” He said in a rush. Val was quiet for a second and then she started laughing, “You’re kidding aren’t you, you guys are just making this up. Matty I’m so kicking your ass.” She snorted. Gritting his teeth Matt said, “I’m not kidding Val, she’s in a lot of pain and I would really like to know how to help her.”
Val stopped laughing at once, “Oh my god, you are serious. Oh shit. Well, where is she? Give her the phone.” She was all business. Raven shivered and he bit his lip, “I can’t, she’s passed out.”
“Sweet Jesus, it’s that bad? What kind of pain killers do you have?” She demanded, “You’ve gotta get her conscious enough to take something and then…there’s not much you can do Matty, I’m sorry.”
“There’s gotta be somethin’ Val; she passed out for fuck’s sakes!” Matt said desperately. Val laughed again but there was nothing merry about the sound, “Sorry Matt, it’s part of being a woman. She’s gonna have to deal with this on her own.”
Matt sank down to the floor in front of the bunk, “How many pills do I give her?” he asked heavily.
“What do you have?”
“Advil’s the strongest thing we have.”
“Three.”
“Thanks Val.” Matt mumbled.
“No problem, by the way, I’ll be seeing you in a couple days.” Then she hung up. Immediately Matt instructed Jimmy and Brian to wake Raven and got up heading to the kitchen. He grabbed the Advil, shaking out three gel pellets, he directed Johnny to get a bottle of water.
When they got back Raven was semi-conscious and it was taking all Brian and Jimmy had to keep her that way. She briefly raised her unfocused eyes to Matt and Johnny when they came back in, whimpering she curled up again and tried to go back to sleep.
“Hang on baby,” Matt cooed, not something he was used to, but it got her attention, “you need to take this, it’ll help the pain.” He was hesitant to say anything else, he was only hoping the Advil would help, it seemed more like she needed a morphine drip. Her eyes fluttered open and she roused herself enough to carefully swallow the pills and then she collapsed back into sleep.
Matt let out a breath and rubbed his temples, “Val said that’s all we can do.” He mumbled.
“Fuck me, seriously?” Jimmy groaned, he hugged himself and looked down at Raven helplessly. Before they could dwell longer Raven’s phone rang. She stirred and started to wake up, Johnny quickly plucked the device from her pocket and Brian gently shushed her back to sleep.
“Don’t know the number.” Johnny said, “Answer it?” he asked. Matt shrugged, “Might be his mom calling from work or something.”
Johnny answered; before he said anything an odd look crossed his face. They watched him silently for a moment until he ended the call, “That was some weird shit.” He said. Brian looked at him quizzically, “What was that all about?”
“I have no idea. I just answered and this guy started saying, chanting I guess would be a better word, these weird words.” He shrugged, “I figured it was a prank or something, I’m hoping it was at least.” His expression became troubled and started messing with Raven’s phone.
“What’re you doing?” Jimmy inquired, craning his head around to get a better look at the tiny screen.
“Checking to see if this dude has called her before.” He answered. His face scrunched some, “This number is in here a lot you guys.” He said worriedly. Matt stayed sitting with Raven but Jimmy and Brian crowded around him and looked at the screen, “In the past three days alone it’s in here a dozen times.” Jimmy said.
“That’s way more than a wrong number.” Brian murmured. He glanced over at Raven’s sleeping face and his brow furrowed with worry.
A/N: I swear it all has a point. Follow my madness! Oh, and because Enya Face bribed me with a cookie the next chapters will be especially delightful ^_~
