“OK girls we're about to get things rolling.......Carrie, Kelly is allowed to stay with you through the whole thing and if you want your mother or any other family members there they can take turns coming into see you up until we are ready to deliver.” Carrie smiled sadly at the doctor.

“My mother wont be here but if Kelly's mom can come in and out when we need her that would be great.”

“I'll let the nurses know.” The doctor left Kelly and Carrie alone.

“So you nervous.?” Kelly ran her hand throw Carrie's hair as she lay back against the bed.

“More wanting it to be over really.” She let the young Texan take care of her as much as she wanted right now.

“It will be in a few hours baby..........then we will have all our family together.........I cant wait to hold them in my arms, I swear I wont be letting go until their old enough to tell me too.” Carrie let out a loud laugh.

“Think I might get a hold too now and again?”

“mmm...... I think I could share them with you”

“I meant get a hold from you.” Carrie wiggled her eyebrows watching Kelly's shocked expression.

“Your about to deliver twins are your hitting on me........There really is no stopping you is there.”

“oh come on you know you love it.”

“yeah I do.” Kelly sat with a silly smile on her face.

“what you thinking about.?” Carrie asked as she watched Kelly drift off somewhere else.

“oh nothing...........just thinking about the first time mom will babysit for us..”

“A minute ago you weren't letting them go until they could talk now your pushing them onto your mother before they are even here?” Carrie smiled watching Kelly realize what she had said.

“ah well....yes well.......I just.”

“Really no excuse there baby........just admit it....your horny.”

“CARRIE.......don't talk like that here...people might hear.”

“eh Kelly I think they know we have sex.”

“they still don't need to hear about it..........”

“trust me baby when these kids are born and I get out of this hospital everybody will know we are having sex........im going to be very vocal about it.” Carrie gave Kelly a wink as she watched the young Texan turn a deep shade of red. Luckily she was rescued from the hot topic by her mother entering.

“I hear im allowed in for a bit.......” Jeanne entered the room with a hand full of goodies. “ I brought gifts for everyone” Jeanne layed everything out onto the bed as she smacked Kelly's hand away.

“oww.......I was only looking.” Jeanne gave Kelly a knowing look, she was always the same. She could never keep her hands to herself, something Carrie know full well.

“Right Carrie I have something special for you.” Reaching into her bag she pulled out a small box handing it to Carrie she stood back to watch her reaction.

“ Jeanne this.........I really don't know what to say.....its gorgeous.” Carrie pulled out a gold necklace from its box.

“ It's a locket..........there's space for two small pictures inside.......that way you can keep a picture of both babies in it............I had one myself for when my kids were young......although Kelly took up both spaces.........she wouldn't have it any other way.” Jeanne gave Kelly a sideways glance.

“What?......not my fault I was her favourite....”

“yes well for Kelly I have this....” Jeanne pulled out a new camera small enough to keep in her pocket. “ this is so you can get Carrie those pictures she needs.” Kelly jumped up and down thanking her mother before snapping a quick shot of Carrie.

“Kelly delete that now.” Carrie said with a strong warning.

“OK OK .......” Kelly pretended to press some buttons till she seen her girlfriend was happen enough to think she had deleted it.

“and for my grand kids I have these.” Jeanne pulled out two small bags one pink one blue. Inside was a small teddy wearing a t-shirt saying my first bear and two vests saying my mommy's love me. She handed one of each to Kelly and Carrie.

“Mom these are so cute........i didn't even think about buying teddies for them.”

“that's what I'm hear for.” Jeanne packed everything away as the doctors and nurses walked in.

“Girls its time......” The doctor walked over to the bed Carrie suddenly began to feel scared and Kelly noticed it.

“baby......baby.......we're safe remember ...........we're getting our babies now.” Carrie nodded trying her best to reassure Kelly she was OK. Jeanne took turns giving each girl a hug and whispering words of advice before leaving the room.

“Now we have went over everything do you girls have any questions.” the doctor said in an easy manner. Both singers gave each other reassuring smiles before shaking their heads.

Carrie was wheeled now a corridor towards the delivery room with Kelly dragging behind. Kelly didn't know she would feel so scared at this point but she knew Carrie was in the best hands. She watched as the doctors all fussed round Carrie connecting wires and machines to her while Carrie lay there breathing heavily. In a matter of minutes Kelly was being pushed towards Carrie by a nurse, she automatic gripped onto Carrie's hand while she brushed her lips over her forehead.

“we're ready to begin now Carrie.” The doctor said from behind the screen placed over Carrie's waist. The silence in the room was unbearable for Kelly who really wasn't used to keeping her mouth shut but she felt she should in case she annoyed Carrie. She had watched so many TV shows where the woman in labor had been screaming at her husband how she hated him and if he touched her again she would kill him. She really didn't want that to be her and Carrie so she thought keeping her mouth shut was the better plan. She listened carefully as the doctors chatted among themselves before all going silent. She didn't like that she looked to Carrie as the young blonde looked up at her with a scared look in her eye. The look quickly left her face and was replaced by a shocked look as the room was filled with the best noise Kelly had ever heard. Jumping from her seat Kelly followed the cries as her new born baby made its voice heard in the room. Her whole body began to shake so much that she heard Carrie tell her to calm down. Within seconds another cry was heard as an nurse came towards them holding a pink bundle.

“would you like to meet your daughter?” the nurse smiled placing the baby onto carries chest. Kelly really didn't know what to do, half of her wanted to watch as the doctors fussed over her son and the other half wanted to look at her daughter who had now stopped screaming and was laying happily in her mothers arms. Before she had to make a choice the nurse came back with a blue bundle. “ I think this belongs to you.” handing Kelly her son all the nurses and doctor moved back to dealing with Carrie letting the new family meet.

“Kelly.....oh my god look at her.......I cant believe she's here.” looking up Carrie noticed for the first time that Kelly was holding their son. “ oh my god look at him.........Kelly look their so cute.” Carrie gushed over her new born babies.

“I ....I cant look.”

“what why....” Carrie looked up to see the tears falling from Kelly's cheeks.

“I cant see through the damn tears.” placing herself back onto the stool behind her Kelly tried her best to look at her son. Fist thing she noticed was a small amount of blond hair it stood spiky on top of his little head. He stared up at Kelly with a look in his eye like he knew who she was. “ hes so beautiful “

“ so is this one.” Kelly looked down towards her girlfriend and new daughter taking her first real look at her. Just like her brother she had blonde hair but a lot more of it. Her cheeks were so chubby they almost covered her eyes which Kelly could see were blue. “Kelly am I crazy or does she look like you.” Kelly let out a laugh

“ it's the cheeks baby.” Kelly ran her hand over her daughters face watching her slowly shut her eyes . Her brother wasn't so easy he fussed around in Kelly arms till she turned her attention towards him again.

The nurses and doctor and finished what they had to with Carrie and moved the family into a small room with two beds. Carrie lay with both kids in her arms as Kelly snapped away with her new camera. They were only an hour old but she had already taken over a hundred shots. She couldn't believe how beautiful Carrie looked with her babies cuddled into her, it amazed her how in love with the three people in the bed she was. It was love at first sight when she held each of the kids in her arms she really didn't know how she had spent 20 odd years without them.

“OK Kelly its your turn......give me the camera I want a shot of my family.” Kelly held both kids in her arms as she stood in front of Carrie with the biggest smile on her face. “You look so happy baby.”

“ I am car.... I really am.” Before Carrie could answer her the door was pushed open and Jeanne came marching in.

“ive been sitting our there for over an hour.....I cant wait any more I......”Jeanne stood shocked looking at her daughter hold both her grand kids in her arms. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, the look on Kelly's face was something Jeanne had been waiting to see. Kelly walked towards her mother.

“mom....I would like you to meet Christopher Caleb Clarkson and this one here is Sophia Rose Clarkson........Christopher Sophia this lady right here is your grandma........Shes here spoil you.” Carrie smiled at Kelly's silliness.

“oh girls.....they are so cute....and am I crazy or does Sophia look like Kelly.” Jeanne directed the last part towards Carrie who just nodded in agreement.

After spending an hour swapping the twins over and over again and Kelly snapping away as much as she could a nurse came in to tell Jeanne it was time for her to leave. Annoyed that the nurse was telling her what to do with her grand kids Jeanne kids all of them goodbye before leaving the family alone.

“So this is it baby.......our family for the next 18 years.......happy?” Kelly asked as she lay both babies in their cots.

“couldn't be happier if I tried......I cant believe you convinced the doctor to give us another bed in here....your crazy.”

“crazy .........really......well watch this.” Kelly pushed the spare bed until it was up against carries. Hoping in she leaned over kissing Carrie on the lips. “ still think im crazy baby?” All Carrie could do was laugh as she snuggled into her girlfriends arms. It had been a long day and this was the perfect end to it.she was laying in her girlfriends arm listening to her kids gentle breathing. Carrie couldn't think of a better way to fall asleep.
