Life Goes On(Pt49)
Sav reeled away as if a powerful force pushed him back, which in turn, caused Olivia to stumble backwards to land on the bed. Sav took a deep breath, his eyes blazing a deep red, hands clenched into fist at his sides. The roar of anger tore from his throat as he spun around. Olivia covered her ears, sliding to the floor. Her body shaking with fear that Sav would come after her. Tears streamed down her face. Olivia’s mind screamed…’He knows’…over and over.
Sav continued to clench and unclench his fists, his breathing ragged. He looked down at Olivia cowering on the floor. He spun around again, grabbing the first thing his red gaze landed on. He sent the vase flying across the room, it’s shattering glass reflecting what Sav and Olivia had lost.
Sav returned his gaze to her, his eyes still ablaze. Now he knew…he knew!….Nick…Olivia’s body was shaking with tears and fear.
"Why didn’t you tell me? Why Olivia?" his voice deep and mincing, filled with such anger, hate towards Nick. Feelings he hadn’t experienced in years.
Olivia’s cry was the only response she could give him. Her body shaking hard, Sav could sense her tremors. Slowly he walked over to her. Olivia sensed his approach and cowered further against the bed.
"I’m not going to hurt you baby. Olivia please, don’t run from me anymore. My anger is for Nick, not you."
Olivia looked up at him through her tears. She saw his eyes, felt his anger. She was frightened of what he might do to her.
Sav knelt down and Olivia tried to move away, but she had nowhere to go. She was trapped. She turned her head away from him, but Sav would not allow her to run or hide anymore.
"Why Olivia?" he reached out to hold her, she flinched away from him. Sav removed his hands. "Please talk to me."
Olivia slowly turned to face him again. His eyes were still red with anger, his voice had taken on a much softer tone. Olivia saw his own tears welling up in his eyes. She now knew that he wouldn’t hurt her.
Finding her voice it trembled when she spoke. "I-I...couldn’t tell you. He said…Nick would kill you if I did…" Olivia couldn’t continue, the tears overwhelmed her again.
"Come here." Sav whispered and reached out to her, gently pulling her into his arms. This time Olivia didn’t resist. He stroked her hair, slowly rocking back and forth. "Nick wouldn't kill me. He used that against you, to get what he wanted from you."
"B-but he promised he would if I didn't do what he said or wanted."
Sav rained in his anger...for now and stroked his hand over Olivia hair. "It's my fault for leaving so soon."
"NO," Olivia began to shake her head in disagreement. "It's mine for not being stronger to ward off his advances, his threats." Sav quickly pushed her forward, taking her by the arms and making her look at him, "It is not your fault, Olivia, don't ever think that...ever! I take all the blame here. I should have known that Nick would do something horrible, but I was naive about it. I'm sorry."

Joe heard Sav’s scream. Even with all the noise from the dinner conversation, he heard the glass shatter against the wall in Olivia’s bedroom. He also felt Sav, his anger, yet, he blocked him out of the most important part…the reason for his anger. Joe blocked out the noise at the table, making himself available only to what he could get from Sav.
Now, ten minutes after the shattering glass, he still could not bond with him. Joe only knew that Sav was experiencing a hurt and anger that he had never detected from him in all their years together.
Joe looked at Phil and then at Nick. Both men seem to be oblivious to Sav’s state of being. He wanted nothing more than to excuse himself and go upstairs, but he knew that wasn’t what Sav wanted. If he did, Sav wouldn’t have blocked him from his mind. This worried Joe more, he struggled to stay in his seat, he needed to know what was going on up there.
'Why did Sav yell like that? What made him so angry that he would block me? Why was Olivia crying?' Joe heard that now. 'Did she throw something at him?' His mind replayed the conversation they had the other night in the pool. 'Did Sav cave in and was now at this moment forcing himself on her?'
Joe shook his head to rid his mind of that thought. 'No, he wouldn’t do that.' All these questions raced through his mind, making him uncomfortable. Joe leaned forward, placing his elbow on the table to clasping his hands together in front of his mouth.
Joe was remained of that feeling that hung around him for the last few months. It never left him. He was fearful that Sav’s emotions had something to do with it.

"Phil do you think you can unlatch yourself from Gail a minute?" Rick asked.
"Dinner was delicious." Evelyn said rubbing her rounded belly.
"Yes it was." Phil said against Gail neck.
"How would you know? You haven’t left Gail’s neck." Rick chimed in. "Isn’t that right Kelsey?"
Phil laughed, "I keep telling you Rick, vampire life….and the sex is the best."
"Whatever, Phil."
"Don’t knock it till you try it." Phil looked at Gail. "Isn’t that right baby?"
"He’s right Rick." Gail offered. She looked at Phil. "Maybe we should finish dessert in our room."
"I’ll fly you to our room."
"No flying in the house Philip." Nick admonished.
"He’s not going yet. We need to catch up on studio business." Rick said. "Now leave Gail alone."
"I’m fine, right here." Phil said nuzzling Gail’s throat again. "Anything new come up?"
Slamming his fist on the table, Joe bellowed, "Goddamnit Phil, knock it off!"
Silence settled over the room, startled, questioning stares hit Joe.
"Another lesson you have to learn is when to stop fucking around and getting what you hunger for!" Joe said heatedly. "Enough is enough. You keep it up and your wife will be dead!"
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Rick finally spoke up, asking the question that was on everyone's mind.
"Nothing, not a goddamn thing!"
"Good, then maybe you should shut up." Rick told him. "Now that Joe is finished. Phil we really need to talk about this band. I want to sign them. I was checking them out while you were gone. They’re really good."
"Then why didn’t you sign them?" Phil reluctantly pulled away from Gail, turning his attention to Rick.
"I wanted to hear yours and Joe’s opinion first."
"Alright, when can we go see them?" Phil asked sipping his blood wine.
"They’ll be playing at The Cove on Friday."
"Sounds good to me. What about you Joe?"
Both men turned to Joe, who had a blank expression on his face, completely opposite from just minutes ago.
"Joe."
"Huh? Yeah Rick."
"Earth to Joe."
"Huh."
Nick offered, "It seems Joseph is a million miles away."
"What did you ask Rick?" Joe said and focused on him.
"I sold anything and everything remotely connected with Def Leppard for $500. I have your cut in the bank."
"Ok…good offer…pay me later."
Mouths dropped open around the table.
"Joe." Phil gave him a hard shove to snap him back to reality. "Did you even hear what Rick said?"
"Yes, he sold copyright for Def Leppard….$500!!" Joe yelled the numbers and looked at Rick.
"Only kidding Joe." Rick laughed.
"Better be fucking kidding." Joe grumbled.
"I wanted to see if you were paying attention."
"Well, I wasn’t."
"Get your head out of the clouds Elliott." Phil poked him in the side, causing Joe to jump.
Nick finished his drink. "Well gentlemen, ladies, as always, the company and conversation have been a pleasure. I’ll leave you to your games."
Joe stood from the table and swayed on his feet as Sav swarmed back into his mind. He had grab the table to steady himself.
Nick and Phil stood at the same time. Phil grabbed his arm before he fell.
"Joe are you alright." Phil asked and began to feel light headed.
"It…it’s not me…"
"What’s wrong…" Nick began to ask a touch of worry in his voice.
"You fucking bastard." Sav’s voice was low and dangerous. He stood in the doorway of the dinning room, hands fisted at his side, eyes that still glowed deep red and his body quaked with anger.
"It’s Sav an…and he’s really….pissed." Joe managed to choke out.
"You want to know what I’m feeling Nick. Here take a trip through my mind and tell me." Sav let the wall crumble between them that he had kept in place for so long against Nick.
"Joe sit down before you fall." Phil pushed him in the chair. "Sav back off a little!"
Nick flinched from the anger and hatred he found in Sav’s mind and the source of that. He regained his posture and regarded Sav with a look of smugness. "You’re not mad about that little incident with Miss Cooper now are you?"
"Mad? Do I look mad to you Nick?"
Sensing the anger, the danger, Rick stood from the table and motioned for Kelsey, Gail and Evelyn to follow him. Rick moved them as far from the men as he could get in the large dinning room. Phil came over to them a few seconds later, putting himself between Nick and the women.
"Oh Richard you’re not really missing much with Miss Cooper, now are you." Nick snickered. "Though I must admit, when she puts up a fight, it is much better. Beautiful body she has, delightful tasting blood too. I can understand your attraction to her."
Nick was on a roll and Sav inched toward him with every word. "Joe, have you had the pleasure of divulging in Miss Cooper yet? You really should you know. Maybe I shouldn’t have threatened to kill you Richard, if she didn’t give in more. That seemed to have killed her passion."
"Passion." Sav mimicked. "That fire in Olivia is gone Nick, you took it from her!"
"I did no such thing."
Joe groaned and dropped his head on the table, his mind awash with images of Olivia. Her struggles against Nick to hold him off, her limp form giving into Nick as he took her. He felt and saw everything through Sav.
"You just can’t let it go, can you? For the first time since I met you, I was happy."
"That’s not true Richard. You’ve been happy with Joe for a long time."
"I needed more goddamnit!!" Sav yelled and flew at Nick, stopping within inches of his face. "You took that from me, like you always do."
"No, you are mistaken. I have only saved you from the pain and heartache of the time she would leave you."
Joe felt Sav’s anger building to a dangerous level. He slowly stood and glanced towards Rick and Phil, making sure that the women were protected from any threats from Nick. He then faced Nick and Sav, waiting to see who would make the first move.
"Then it would have been my mistake, not yours. You can’t run my life. I was never yours to toy with. I don’t belong to you, I never did. NEVER!"
Nick slowly raised his hands and gripped the front of Sav’s shirt, pulling him closer to him. "You will always belong to me Richard…for eternity."
"Not if you’re dead." Sav hissed. His fast movement sent them flying through the room, crashing through the sliding glass doors.
The women screamed as they backed closer to the wall. Phil had his arms spread out to keep them from moving. They heard the struggle outside, crunching glass and then Sav came flying back into the room, landing heavily on his back. Nick was reaching down for him in seconds, grabbing his shirt again and hauling him to his feet, holding Sav high above the floor.
"If a fight to the death is what you want. A fight to the death you will get." Nick glared at him, then tossed him like a rag doll across the room.
Sav slammed into the glass fronted china cabinet and fell to the floor. Joe wrapped his arm around Nick’s throat from behind. "You will be the one to die here tonight Nick."
Nick took a half step back, crouched down, slipped his hand under Joe’s arm and bent over. Joe went sailing over his head, landing at his feet on his back. Joe swung his leg up and caught Nick in the face, sending him backwards from the force.
Sav came out of nowhere, hitting Nick from the side. The two men slide across the table and fell off the other side. Scattering the chairs under their weight. Sav managed to get in a few punches to his face before Nick knocked him off. He sprang to his feet, towering above Sav.
Joe grabbed a chair and leaped atop the table and brought in down across Nick’s back.
Nick howled with rage and spun on Joe, he swung his arms out trying to knock Joe’s feet out from under him, but he was too slow. Joe jumped away from him, landing a few feet away.
Sav stood up and jumped on Nick’s back, wrapping his body around him, holding him in a death grip. Shoving Nick’s head sideways, Sav brutally sank his fangs deep into his throat. Nick screamed from the pain and tried to pull him off.
Rick and Gail kept their arms around Evelyn, who was crying and yelling at them to stop. Kelsey stood behind Rick peering over his shoulder, tears spilling down her face. Phil was torn on what to do. Help Joe and Sav or protect the mortals behind him. Phil took a step forward and Rick grabbed his arm.
"No Phil!" Rick yelled at him. "You must stay here."
Evelyn’s pleas for them to stop imbedded in Phil’s mind, but her pleas went unheeded. Phil pulled Evelyn closer to him. He wanted to get everyone out of the room, out of the path of danger, but like them he was mesmerized by the fight.
"Evelyn we really should leave, it’s not healthy for you…" Rick started.
"NO! I’m staying here. I have to make them stop."
"You can’t make them stop!" Rick shouted.
Nick flew backwards, slamming Sav into the wall, it gave way under the force. Sav clang to him, refusing to let go. Nick stepped forward and hit the wall again, plaster crumbled around them. Sav stilled held onto him.
Blood stained the front of Nick’s shirt. Joe snatched up a piece of wood from one of the broken chairs just as Nick rammed the wall again.
Sav released him, screaming from pain as the wood splintered in the wall, several large pieces lodged in his back. He slid to the floor just as Joe rushed forward, stabbing the wood piece he held in Nick’s shoulder.
Nick swung his fist out at him, catching Joe in the jaw, he stumbled sideways. Nick hit him again before he could recover, blood dripping from both cuts on Joe’s face. Nick turned around and yanked Sav to his feet, once again slamming him into the wall.
The wood pieces digging deeper into his back, Sav clenched his teeth together to keep from yelling against the pain.
"Kill me tonight will you." Nick growled inches from his face and shoved him again. "The two of you together can not defeat me."
"No, but we will die trying." Sav returned, venom dripping from his voice.
"And die you shall." Nick hissed, shoving him against the wall again.
"aahh!!…" Sav yelled.
"But you will go last, as I drain Joseph of his life in front of you."
"NO!!" Evelyn screamed. Phil held her back, keeping her from going to Joe.
The blood being spilled around the room was assaulting Phil’s senses, but something else drew his attention away from the fight. A blood scent he had never experienced before. Honing in on its origin, Phil’s eyes widened in horror as he saw the few spots of blood around Evelyn’s feet.
"Oh no..."
Evelyn held her stomach, pain etched on her face, as she too looked to the floor. "Oh…it…it’s the…Joe!"
