Gerard flew around town with ‘Twinkle Twinkle little star’ blasting from his car. Fetching, dropping off and completing everything on jade’s to do list. Maggie was laughing away as usual, moving her little body to the music. Eventually Gerard stopped at Jakes house and rang the door bell, with Maggie tucked under one arm and a bag of dry cleaning under the other.
”God Jade you have gone manly” Jake laughed as he found Gerard at his door, “I could swear you should be here”, without another word Jake grabbed Maggie from Gerard’s arm and swung her round, making her scream with laughter.
”Har har” Gerard whined, “Hurry up, and don’t expect me to be fetching your bloody dry cleaning every week.”
”Where’s jade?”
”At home, she is over worked. With a banging headache and a foul mood to match it. Listen I was thinking of ‘relaxing’ her tonight, you thin Maggie can stay here?”
”Relaxing ehy?” Jake asked raising one eyebrow.
”I wouldn’t ask but she seems close to breaking, I just want some time with her, and I know you will look after my babykins.”
”Oh you will let me mind your child, but I cant drive your car”
”Don’t push me”
Jake laughed, “Of course she can stay, yes you can” he cooed at her. “You go fetch her things and she can stay for the day as well, I was feeling pretty bored. WE are going to have fun aren’t we” he laughed kissing Maggie’s cheek and slamming the door in Gerard’s face. Gerard looked down at the washing still in his hand and fumed; throwing it back in the boot he drove back to the house.
Walking around he tried to think like Jade. “Come on Gerard you’re an actor, what would Jade think about? Get into character.” Picturing himself naked he laughed out loud. “Ok drop the character think logically,” Grabbing a bag he did a round of the house. Nappies, bottles, milk, toys, clothes, food. “That should do it”
Throwing her bag alongside Jakes washing he drove back and dropped it off, kissing his daughter goodbye he headed to the shops on his way back.

Jade woke and sighed; the pain in her head was gone. So was the noise. Glancing at the crib she jumped so was the baby. Diving to her feet she ran downstairs, it was around 6.30. Gerard in the kitchen stirring something in a pot, he turned and smiled when he saw her, nodding at a full set table. Candles and all.
”Maggie” Jade whimpered. Gerard stared at her, “I thought she was with you?”
Seeing the colour drain from her face he laughed, “I’m kidding she’s at Jakes.”
”Oh you bastard, don’t ever do that to me again!”
”What? Arrange a babysitter then cook you food and look after you?” Jade frowned at him, and walked over to hug him.
”Whats all this in aid of then?” she asked, staring at him.
”Nothing, well I think you seem over worked and I think we need some us time. Don’t look sad, all parents do it”
”About this afternoon, I don’t mean to say you don’t spend enough time with us. You do, your brilliant, I was just cranky ok?”
”Its already forgotten, now sit it and shut it. Dinner is almost…almost..shit almost burnt” he shouted, dropping her and running to lower the heat.
Jade sat at the table shaking her head and waited for him, glancing around she noticed the carpets were hovered and the kitchen spotless. The toys were cleaned away and the litter tray cleaned. “You have been busy,” she laughed. Finally relaxing.
”Yeah” he smiled, placing soup before her. “Course one me dear. Eat!”
Jade sipped at the soup and smiled, as she sat next to her with his own bowl. “I love Chinese food” she smiled, “Even better when someone pretends they have cooked it,”
she laughed noting the Chinese takeaway boxes crammed in the bin.
”I heated it ok?” he shouted, spilling soup down his jumper.
Jade smiled, “I love you” ignoring his waves of pain as he tried to mop up hot soup, she grabbed a prawn cracker and gratefully ate her soup. Next they had sweet and sour chicken, followed by egg fried rice and he had bought banana fritters for dessert. Officially stuffed, they collapsed on the sofa together. A squeak made Gerard jump up and lift a teddy from under him.
Jade took it from him and hugged it to her. “Jade?” Gerard smiled, stroking her hair, “I think your doing too much, I mean I can understand you not wanting a cleaner while it was just us two, but now I’m either hiring a cleaner or a nanny. Your choice”
”A cleaner would be good. I miss Maggie”
”Yeah its weird I do too, I keep expecting to hear her giggling or screaming she’s always doing one of them.”
Gerard looked at his watch, it was only 8.00. “Bath time Jadey”
”Oh yes, we haven’t had a bath together for ages” Jade smiled, leaping from his lap, and running up the stairs.
Once there she had the bath running. “Jade lookit I got this today” he smiled handing her some anti stress radox powders. Grinning he threw a heap into the water and watched it change from transparent to a blue/green colour. Jade smiled and dropped her clothes. Gerard pulled off his t-shirt and stood until Jade undressed the rest of him. Easing themselves into the hot water they relaxed together.
”Oh god I need to shave my legs” whined Jade, “I have no time to do anything these days”
”Jade” Gerard shouted, “Why bother, they aren’t so bad. When they get to my length we will need to talk, but don’t be silly.”
”How can you be attracted to a woman with hairy legs?”
”How can you be attracted to a man with a penis as big as this?”
Jade laughed hard, and hit him playfully. “Jade I am attracted to you all the time, hairy or not. You could wear a bin bag and I would rip it from you”
Smiling Jade sat back as he washed her body from head to toe, then he washed her hair and kissed her softly on the neck. Jade smiled, and kissed him hungrily back. It had been so long since they were able to be fully together and do what they liked. “Wait” she groaned, I really need to shave my legs”
”Christ” muttered Gerard, stepping out of the bath, “Ok Jade you have 10 minutes then I claim you”
Jade smiled and reached for the soap.

Lying in bed Gerard stared across at the empty crib and hoped she wasn’t giving Jake a hard time, it would be nice to be able to do this on a regular basis. He hadn’t been neglecting Jade as such, but they certainly weren’t as satisfied with each other as they had been before Maggie was born. Maybe when she was in her own room things would be better.
”Ok lover” Jade laughed, stepping out of the bathroom. Gerard looked her body up and down and smiled to himself. Beautiful. It had been more than a week since the last time they had snatched an hour or so to have sex, and just the sight of her had his body responding. Jade walked over to him and jumped on the bed, kidding him wildly. Gerard flipped her over and pushed himself against her, gripping her arms, he felt a need. A passion. They hadn’t been this frantic since that night in the barn in Scotland. This week had been the longest they had gone without sex, but with Maggie teething she wasn’t in her sleep pattern and consequently neither were they. Jade grabbed his skin and pulled her to him, kissing him and biting his ear.
”Oh god” she groaned as he thrust two finger’s inside her. “Gerard”
”Yeah, yeah fuck yeah” he replied, as she worked his penis with her hand, “Oh god Jade”
Breathing heavily together they stopped working each other and the same time and stared into each others eyes.
”Fuck me” Jade demanded, staring into him.
”Pardon? I’m sure you mean make love?” Gerard joked.
”Yeah maybe afterwards, fuck me”
Gerard growled, “This is why I love you” he laughed as he thrust himself into her, revelling at the feeling of being inside her and quenching his thirst for her.
”Well that will look lovely on my eulogy” she panted, bucking into him.
For the rest of the night they fulfilled each other’s needs and worshipped each other’s bodies until the sun came up, then they just lay and talked about everything and anything. Gerard turned to look at the clock it was 7am. Jade had just fallen asleep but he was wide-awake. Sitting up he watched the sun for a while, then got dressed and went to collect his daughter. Feeling a tug, he knew he needed her giggle and her hugs to make him feel even more on top of the world than he already did. Plus Maggie wouldn’t object to him grabbing a star bucks on the way home.
