"Well, you're looking happy this morning," Lyndsey teased, tugging on Kelly's pony tail as she joined her at her locker.
Kelly laughed, "I'm having a good morning, yea."
"Feels good to be free again?"
"Definitely."
"Oh, does that mean we get to party it up this weekend for your birthday?" Lyndsey looked at her hopefully.
"Heck yea," Kelly grinned. "It's gonna be great."
"The usual crowd?"
Kelly's smile faltered as she pulled her binder out of her locker.
"It's really not good, huh? Between you and Ashley...it's pretty bad, isn't it?"
"Yea, it's really bad," she admited with a sigh.
"I'm sorry," Lyndsey gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze.
"It's fine," Kelly shrugged.
"Whatever happened, anyway?"
"It's not really my place..."
"No worries," Lyndsey smiled. "I'll talk to Mary and Jebbie and see what we can cook up for this weekend...where's Carrie?"
"She had to go turn in her softball jersey."
"Aw, that sucks. Was she really bummed this morning?"
"Um, you know...I think she took it well," Kelly fought back a smirk at the memory of Carrie pressed against her in the shower.
"That's good. She's gonna be there too this weekend, right?"
"We haven't talked about it yet, but yea, I'm sure she's gonna want to, so go ahead and count her in."
"Cool," Lyndsey nodded as the bell rang. "Ok, I gotta go. Later, KC."
"Bye," Kelly waved.
"Hey girl," Lyndsey smiled, as she passed Carrie.
"Hey," Carrie smiled back before turning to join Kelly. "Hey."
"How'd it go?"
"It was ok," Carrie nodded, as they started to walk together to the classroom. "How's Lyndsey?"
"She's good, just wanted to make sure we were on for this weekend."
"On?"
"We're gonna celebrate my birthday now that I'm off of lockdown. You're in?"
"Of course. I can't wait."
"Awesome," Kelly smiled.

Kelly's knee was bouncing nervously as she sat next to Carrie in the back of the Chemistry lab with the lights turned off for a movie day.
Carrie smiled, placing her hand on her knee.
Kelly's other knee started to shake.
"Relax," Carrie rubbed her thigh.
Kelly felt faint. She didn't know why, but ever since the lights had been turned off and Carrie had scooted her stool closer so they could talk, her heart had been going full speed. "That's not really helping."
"What's not?"
Kelly placed her head down on the lab table before them. She tried to concentrate on the cool counter top against her forehead instead of Carrie's hand that was still moving over her thigh.
Carrie leaned down to whisper in her ear, "Are you ok?"
"Yes," Kelly replied through clenched teeth, placing her hand over Carrie's, halting it.
Carrie's smile grew, "Are you sure you're ok?"
She nodded against the table, removing her hand from on top of Carrie's.
Carrie slowly started to rub her thigh again, hearing the faintest moan escape the Texan's lips. "Sh..." she whispered.
Kelly took a deep breath, "Skip your next class with me."
"What?"
"Please..."
"Definitely," Carrie quickly replied.

Carrie broke the kiss, gasping for air as she felt Kelly's lips attatch to her neck. She moaned as Kelly's legs wrapped around her tighter, "Kell..."
Kelly pushed her bra strap aside, kissing across her shoulder, the taller blonde's shirt having long been tossed to the front of the car.
"Kell..." Carrie took her face in her hands, kissing her heatedly. Her hand slid up the Texan's shirt, massaging her gently through her bra. Her head spun at the feeling of Kelly's hips rolling against her.
Kelly wrapped a hand in Carrie's hair, deepening the kiss.
Carrie's brain finally caught up with the rest of her body as she placed a firm hand on the backseat, beneath Kelly, pushing away. "Baby..." she breathed heavily, shaking her head.
"Wha--what?" she looked up at her, lost. "Did I mess up?"
Carrie couldn't help but laugh softly, "No, it's just...we're in the backseat of my car, parked in some random field on the side of the road."
"Ok?"
Carrie shook her head again, sighing as she sat back on Kelly's legs.
"What's wrong?" Kelly asked, holding herself up on her elbows.
"You are just so innocent," Carrie replied. "And I love that about you, I do, but at the same time, it can be rather frustrating."
Kelly's eyes fell, clearly hurt, "If I'm not going fast enough for you, I can go faster..."
Carrie's heart melted as she reached out, stroking her cheek softly, "That's not it at all. It has nothing to do with the speed of things between us. I think things are progessing at the perfect speed."
"Then what's wrong?"
"Things are progressing..."
"Are they not supposed to be?"
Carrie pulled her up into a sitting position so that they were face to face, "When we're laying together and we're touching and we're kissing what happens? Your heart starts racing, and you can feel your blood pushing through your veins, and your body heats up, and you feel this...this thing in your stomach, right?"
Kelly nodded.
"I feel that too, and do you know what that means?"
Kelly looked at her sheepishly.
"It means I want you, Kell...I want all of you," Carrie looked at her meaningfully. "And you want me too, and I don't know how to deal with that."
"Oh..." Kelly looked down at her hands that were starting to fidgit nervously in her lap. "Sex, right?"
"Yea," Carrie nodded, watching her cautiously. "Sex."
"I, uh, I didn't...I mean, I was just...we were just...well..."
Carrie smiled softly as Kelly struggled to find the words she wanted to say.
"I never thought about it like that," she finally managed.
"I know."
"I mean, I never thought that's what we were doing."
"I know," Carrie assured.
"I just...sex just seems so..." her eyebrows furrowed as she looked up at the taller blonde. "That's where we're heading isn't it?"
Carrie swallowed hard, "Only if you want to."
Kelly's eyes widened, "So, you're ok with this?"
"I don't know," she shrugged.
"That's not good," Kelly shook her head. "You're the experienced one in all of this."
"I know, I know, sorry. Let's just start with what I do know, ok?"
She nodded.
"Ok, so I know that I enjoy kissing you, and that, uh, that I like holding you, and obviously I'm attracted to you."
"You are?" Kelly looked at her, confused.
"Kell, you think things would've ever gotten this heated between us if I weren't?"
Kelly shrugged.
Carrie smiled, taking one of her hands in her own, "I also know that you...you make me feel good. Not just in the way we just were, but like, you make me feel happy and good about myself. You make my stomach do this excited jump thing every time you smile, and I just want to be around you as much as I can."
Kelly chewed on her bottom lip nervously.
"You confuse the hell out of me, Kell, and you seriously scare me, but at the same time, I absolutley hate the feeling I get every time we're apart, and I don't know what to do about it."
Kelly looked down at her hands again.
"Baby, please say something."
"I like you too, I mean, like...I have feelings for you."
"Yea?"
"Yea."
Carrie leaned forward, kissing her forehead.
"What does that mean, though?" Kelly asked worriedly. "Does that mean I'm gay? I mean, I know my mom let's me get by with a lot of stuff, but I don't think she'll let me get away with this," she shook her head, her voice shaking. "She's really strict when it comes to religious stuff. I think she'd kill me."
"Baby..." Carrie cradled her face in her hands. "Calm down, ok. One step at a time, right?"
Kelly nodded.
"So, I like you, and you like me...that doesn't have to mean anything yet. We'll just...we'll figure it out together, ok?"
"Ok," she offered a small smile. "What about..."
"Sex?"
"I'm not ready," Kelly shook her head.
"You're not?"
"I mean, physically, yea, but emotionally, I don't think I'm there yet," she looked at her apologetically. "Honestly, I always thought I'd wait till marriage."
Carrie paled.
"Obviously I don't think that anymore--"
Carrie let out a sigh of relief.
"--but I still see it as a big deal."
"Of course it's a big deal," Carrie agreed. "It's a very big deal. And you know, I think you're right...we should wait."
"Yea?"
"Yea. I think we have a few things we need to wrap our heads around and get comfortable with first."
Kelly wrapped her arms around her, pulling her into a hug.
Carrie laughed softly, running her fingers through the Texan's hair.
"Now, when we say no sex, that doesn't mean no kissing, right?"
"Definitely not."
"Ok, good," Kelly let out a sigh of relief, laying back, taking Carrie with her. She smiled up at the Oklahoma native, "So now what?"
"Now," Carrie kissed her lightly. "We decide how serious we want this to be."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, what are we?"
Kelly thought for a moment before replying, "A couple."
"Yea?"
"If that's ok with you," Kelly nodded. "I just...I like the thought of being yours, and I hate the thought of you being someone else's."
Carrie smiled, kissing her again, "Me too."
"So we're together?"
"Yea," Carrie nodded, kissing her a third time. "We're together."
Kelly beamed, pulling her down into a hug.
Carrie felt her body relaxing as she got comfortable in Kelly's arms, "What about other people?"
"I don't think we should tell other people," Kelly shook her head. "Our parents would flip."
"Yea," Carrie agreed.
Kelly kissed the top of her head, taking a deep breath, "God, this feels so good."
"Like giddy good."
"Yea," Kelly laughed softly. "Like giddy good."
"Do you wanna just skip choir and lay like this?"
"Absolutely," Kelly nodded, wrapping her arms around her tighter.

"I wish I could stay tonight," Carrie admitted, cradling Kelly's face with one hand.
"Me too," Kelly smiled. "Why don't you come in for at least a little while?"
"Because I'd end up staying."
"True," Kelly laughed softly.
Carrie leaned across the seat, kissing her, "Have a good night."
"You too."
"Pick you up tomorrow?"
"I hope so, cause you're totally my alarm now."
Carrie laughed, kissing her again, "Ok, I'll see you tomorrow then."
"You sure you don't want to come in?"
"Don't you have homework?"
"You can help me study."
"You aren't taking anatomy."
Kelly grinned, tugging her closer by her shirt, "Nobody has to know that."
Carrie giggled as the Texan kissed her.
"You're happy?" she questioned, touching her cheek briefly.
"Yea," Carrie nodded. "You?"
"Yea," she smiled. "Really happy."
"Me too," Carrie pressed their lips together, as she undid her seatbelt so she could get closer to Kelly.
Kelly broke the kiss, looking around at the back corner of the parking lot where they were parked.
"We're good," Carrie assured, her lips brushing along her neck.
Kelly's eyes slowly closed as she tilted her head back.
Carrie pulled back, biting her bottom lip hard as she took a deep breath.
Kelly laughed lightly, "You ok?"
"You just..." Carrie smiled as her eyes moved over the shorter girl's face.
"You too," Kelly reached forward, kissing her softly.
Carrie melted, pulling back, "Unh-uh, nope. You can't kiss me like that when I'm supposed to be telling you bye."
"Why not?"
"Cause I won't want to tell you bye."
"I told you, you should come inside."
Carrie laughed, kissing her forehead before sitting back properly in her seat, "Come on, let's get you home before my mom fusses about me being out too late on a school night."
"Pretty cool that you're allowed out after dark now," Kelly grinned as Carrie pulled the car closer to the apartment complex.
"I know--I feel so responsible," Carrie joked. "Here you are. Ok...sleep well, baby."
"You too," Kelly gave her hand a gentle squeeze before getting out of the car.
