"So what's the plans?" Kelly asked as she sat on Carrie's lap, facing her in her bedroom.
"You know I can't tell you," Carrie shook her head.
"No?" Kelly leaned closer.
"It's supposed to be a surprise," Carrie's eyes were glued to her lips.
"So, you mean there's no way I can get it out of you?"
Carrie shook her head, swallowing hard.
"No way at all?" Kelly leaned closer, her lips barely brushing against her jaw.
Carrie's eyes closed as she bit her bottom lip.
"That's no fair," Kelly giggled softly when she went to kiss her. She put her thumbs on the other blonde's chin, "Let it go."
Carrie shook her head, keeping her bottom lip securely in between her teeth.
"I can still kiss you, you know..."
Carrie held firm.
"Alright then..." Kelly reached forward, kissing Carrie's top lip softly. She could feel Carrie take a shaky breath as she tilted her head, taking Carrie's top lip in between her own.
Carrie immediately folded, cradling Kelly's face gently in her hands as she started to kiss her back.
Kelly smiled into the kiss, laughing softly.
Carrie blushed slightly, pulling back.
"I win," Kelly grinned.
"I so should've never taught you to kiss," Carrie replied. "I'm so screwed now."
Kelly giggled, wrapping her arms around her, resting her head on her shoulder, "Don't worry. I'll only use my power for good."
"So you want to know where we're going tonight?"
"Nah, I don't want the others to be mad at you because you ruined the surprise."
"Then what was all that about?"
"I just like kissing you," she shrugged.
Carrie smiled, turning to kiss the tip of her nose.
Kelly hugged her tighter, nuzzling into her neck.
++++++++++
"Seriously?" Mary laughed. "We offer to take you anywhere to go eat and you choose Taco Bell?"
Kelly shrugged, "I like Taco Bell."
"You're hopeless," Jessica teased.
"So where are we going?" Kelly asked. "What's the surprise?"
"You mean Carrie didn't tell you?" Lyndsey asked.
"Nope," Carrie smiled.
Kelly giggled, "No, she was totally strong and held her ground."
Carrie looked down at the food before her to hide her blush.
"Pay up," Lyndsey held her hand out.
"Man..." Mary sighed, handing her a five dollar bill. "Sorry, Carrie."
"It's fine," Carrie laughed. "Sorry, I lost you money."
"You win some, you lose some," Mary shrugged.
"So where are we going?" Kelly asked again.
"You'll find out when we get there," Jessica assured.
"Where's the fun in that?"
"It's the whole point of a surprise."
"Surprises suck," she pouted.
Carrie placed her hand on her knee under the table, giving it a gentle squeeze.
Kelly smiled, "But thank you guys so much for this. A girl's night of fun has definitely been a long time coming."
"Amen," Lyndsey raised her coke in toast.
They all laughed, raising their drinks as well, tapping them together.
"Here's to having a very happy, although belated birthday," Kelly teased.
"Well if someone wouldn't get themselves grounded..."
"Yea, yea," she rolled her eyes. "Oh...can we get cinammon twists?"
"It's your birthday," Jessica laughed, standing to go place an order for some. "You can get whatever you want."
"Nice," Kelly's eyes lit up.
"Except for strippers...we promised your mom," Mary frowned apologetically. "Sorry, girl."
"Aw, damn," she sighed in mock disappointment. "However will I cope?"
Carrie struggled not to bite her lip as Kelly placed a hand on her upper thigh.
++++++++++++
"Ok, come on...a little further," Jessica guided Kelly as she kept a hand over the shorter girl's eyes.
"I hope so, we drove for over an hour," Kelly replied.
"We're almost there."
"God, it smells rank," she made a face.
"Rank?" Carrie laughed.
"We haven't beaten all of the country out of her yet," Mary explained.
"I love how y'all act like we live in some huge city," Kelly laughed, nearly tripping as Jessica stopped them abruptly.
"Here you go," Lyndsey placed something in Kelly's hand.
"What's this?" Kelly felt the plastic card. "If this is money, I don't want it," she tried handing it back.
"It's not money," Carrie smiled. "It's something that already belonged to you."
"Ok, open your eyes," Jessica removed her hand.
Kelly stared down at her license that she was holding, "I don't get it...where are we?"
Jessica pointed up.
"A bar?"
"Not just any bar," Mary laughed, holding up five tickets.
"Oh my God," Kelly took them. "The Toadies are playing tonight?"
"Yep," she nodded, grinning.
"It's your first ever, legal Toadies concert," Carrie pointed out.
"You guys," Kelly laughed softly, looking down at the tickets then back up at them. "This is really great, y'all...seriously, y'all are the best."
"Eh, we know," Lyndsey nodded, wrapping an arm around her and guiding her to the front door.
Kelly smiled, reaching back for Carrie's hand, tugging her along, "Come on, you. You know the rules for bars...you aren't allowed out of my sight."
"Deal," Carrie laughed, allowing her to pull her inside.
+++++++++
Carrie smiled as she stood right behind Kelly, watching the short Texan watch the band on stage, the fingers of their right hands laced together. She leaned forward, placing her lips next to her ear, "Did I ever tell you how cute you are when you're listening to music?"
Kelly laughed, giving her hand a gentle squeeze, "They're so great."
"Yea, they're good," Carrie nodded.
Kelly turned to face her, "Good?"
Carrie shrugged, smiling, "Not really my type of music."
"Not enough banjo for you?" she teased.
"I'm not much of a screamer," Carrie motioned to the stage, leaning closer as the band grew louder.
"You know, I'm sure there's some joke about sex I could make, but I still don't know enough about it to make one."
Carrie grinned, "You know, I could always help you with that."
Kelly bit her bottom lip.
Carrie laughed.
"Hush," Kelly pushed her playfully. "Watch The Toadies--you might learn something."
"Learn something?"
"Watch...they totally breathe from their stomachs."
Carrie shook her head as Kelly turned back to the stage, "Are you ever going to let that go?"
"No. You are way too talented for me to let it go," she replied over her shoulder.
Carrie smiled, taking the increasingly crowded floor as an excuse to stand closer to the short Texan.
+++++++++
Carrie swallowed hard. She was now fully pressed against Kelly, holding onto both of her hands tightly as the bar became full to capacity. The floor was packed, and people were starting to jump around, pushing into each other. "This is a bit rowdier than I remember," she commented in Kelly's ear.
Kelly smiled, "Rowdier?"
Carrie nodded.
"It's a bigger bar, so there's more people. It's going to be a little wilder," Kelly tugged on her hands, keeping her close. "Just stay with me, ok?"
"I wasn't planning on going anywhere...where's the rest of them?"
Kelly nodded to their right, a little closer to the stage.
"Jessica's a mosher?" Carrie raised an eyebrow, watching them.
Kelly laughed, "Who knew, right?"
"Yea..." Carrie swallowed again. Kelly wasn't jumping around, which she was thankful for because there was no way she would've been able to stick close to the short Texan if that was the case. Instead, she was swaying to the music...more specifically her hips were swaying to the music.
"We can go get some air if you're uncomfortable," Kelly offered.
"No," Carrie shook her head, getting lost in the feeling of Kelly's body moving against hers. "I'm fine here...here's fine."
+++++++++++
"Kell..." Carrie couldn't take it anymore. She didn't even bother wondering how someone could find a rhythm in this heavy of rock music to grind to; she just accepted the fact that Kelly had unknown magical powers. "Kell...I need air...air somewhere where it's preferably just the two of us."
Kelly held onto her hands tightly as she started to weve them through the crowd without even saying a word.
Carrie watched in slight awe as Kelly easily found the way to a back door, leading out to an empty alley, "How'd you know this was here?"
"Every bar's got some place quiet," Kelly shrugged. "This what you had in mind?"
Carrie nodded, turning them so Kelly was pinned against the brick wall, "Hey."
"Hey," Kelly smiled.
"You think you're cute, huh?" Carrie bit her lip as Kelly trailed a hand down her side.
"No, that would be you."
Carrie laughed softly, stepping closer.
Kelly's heart sped up as she watched Carrie carefully.
Carrie's eyes were glued to her lips.
"So are you gonna kiss me or what?" Kelly grinned. "The others are gonna eventually get worried and come looking for us."
"I was hoping to catch my head with some cool air," Carrie admitted, their foreheads nearly touching.
"It's practically a summer night in Texas...there's no such thing as cool air," Kelly slowly shook her head.
Carrie took a deep breath, using her hands to support herself against the brick wall behind the shorter girl, "They're gonna come looking for us."
"Yea," Kelly whispered, their noses touching as Carrie's body lightly pressed into her own.
"How long do you think we have?"
"A couple...a couple minutes," her breathing was shaky.
"You're ok here?"
"Yes," Kelly's lips brushed against Carrie's.
Carrie's hands immediately reached up, holding her face as she kissed her firmly. She moaned softly as Kelly pulled her closer, her hands on her hips, her fingers sliding through the belt loops of her jeans.
Kelly pushed up on her toes, kissing her back just as firmly, letting her teeth graze along Carrie's bottom lip, barely tugging.
One of Carrie's hands got tangled in her hair as the other slid down Kelly's neck to her chest, causing a sudden intake of breath from the Texan before making it's way down her stomach, sliding around her hip to her lower back, holding her close.
The two girls broke the kiss, both breathing heavily as they locked eyes.
Carrie was the first to smile, causing a shy grin to spread across Kelly's face. She laughed softly, reaching up and kissing her forehead, "The others are totally staying over tonight, huh?"
Kelly nodded, leaning back against the wall to steady herself, "Mmhmm."
Carrie giggled lightly, kissing her, "We won't be able to continue this later tonight, will we?"
Kelly shook her head.
Carrie quickly took another step back as the door opened.
"Told you she'd be back here," Mary said to someone over her shoulder before turning to the two blondes. "Come on dorks, they're doing an encore."
"Encore?" Carrie raised her eyes at Kelly.
Kelly laughed, shaking her head as she took her hand, guiding her back inside.
++++++++++
"You can't make them go home?" Carrie asked as she stood beside Kelly in the bathroom while they brushed their teeth, getting ready for bed.
Kelly laughed softly, "No."
"It's not funny," Carrie pouted. "It's our first night having a sleepover while being together, and we have an audience."
"Care, it's my birthday. They want to celebrate that with me."
"Your birthday was a week ago," Carrie pointed out.
"Care," Kelly fussed gently.
"Baby, I just want to kiss you," Carrie whispered, turning to her.
Kelly's breath caught in her throat.
Carrie smiled, watching her, "And you want to kiss me, too."
"I'm not kicking them out, Care."
"Please?" Carrie leaned closer.
Kelly took a deep breath, her eyes on the door, making sure nobody was walking through.
"Pretty please?" Carrie breathed against her neck.
Kelly placed a hand on the bathroom counter before her, steadying herself.
"Baby..." she kissed her neck softly.
"You're um...you're really good at that," Kelly let out a shaky laugh. "Alright."
"You'll tell them to leave?" Carrie pulled back.
"No, I won't tell them to leave. But you can sleep with me in my bed. Y'all will be crazy cramped if the four of y'all try to all sleep on the floor, anyway. Not everybody can have an entire upstairs as their room," she joked.
Carrie wrapped her arms around her from the side, kissing her temple, "Big rooms make it easier to lose stuff. Your room is perfect."
Kelly smiled, turning her head to kiss her lightly, "But we have to behave, alright?"
"I'll try."
"Care..." she giggled.
"Fine, I'll try hard," Carrie sighed.
++++++++++
Carrie smiled at the feeling of Kelly's arm, wrapping around her from behind. "They're all asleep," she whispered, feeling the Texan's lips brush against her jaw. She turned in her arms to face her, "What happened to behaving?"
Kelly smiled, bringing a hand to Carrie's cheek, "Yea, well...just keep quiet, ok?"
Carrie grinned, leaning forward and kissing her fully.
Kelly drew in a sharp breath in surprise.
"Shh..." Carrie giggled, pulling back an inch.
"Give me some warning next time," Kelly felt Carrie pull her closer, her heart settling into it's familiar racing pace that she had come to know as one of the familiar results of Carrie touching her.
"Ok..." Carrie leaned in, smirking as she looked her straight in the eyes. "I'm going to kiss you right now, ok?"
Kelly's face flushed as Carrie leaned to her, kissing her softly. She wrapped her arms around the taller girl, pulling her to her.
Carrie moaned into the kiss.
"Shh..." Kelly whispered, Carrie's lips moving to her neck. She licked her lips as one of Carrie's hands slid under the back of her shirt.
Carrie placed one slow kiss on her neck after another as her hand moved to Kelly's stomach, gradually inching higher. She swallowed hard, feeling Kelly squirming against her. Her lips paused against the shorter girl's neck as her hand continued to rise, knowing full well that the other girl wasn't wearing a bra.
Kelly bit her bottom lip hard, fighting back a moan.
Carrie let out the breath that she had been holding as she went back to kissing Kelly's neck a little more heated this time, the Texan's skin soft and warm in her hand. She smiled when Kelly wrapped a leg around her own, pulling her closer. She could feel another moan rising in the singer's throat, her tongue passing lightly across her skin. She reached down with her other hand, pulling Kelly's shirt up, and started to slide down under the covers.
Kelly stretched down, taking Carrie's elbows in her hands, pulling her back up, shaking her head.
Carrie resisted the urge to pout as her heart continued to beat rapidly, unaware that even though she and Kelly were still wrapped around each other, the action had stopped. She nodded in understanding.
Kelly smiled, reaching forward and kissing her softly. "I just don't want them to wake up," she whispered.
"It's ok," Carrie assured, fixing her shirt for her. She took Kelly's chin in her hand, tilting her face down so she could kiss her forehead, "You're so great."
"Why do you say that?"
"You just...you just are," she shrugged.
Kelly's smile grew as she kissed her again before snuggling into her with a content sigh.
Carrie wrapped her arms around her once more, hugging her tightly, kissing the top of her head, "But when they're gone...it's on."
Kelly nuzzled into her neck, trying to stifle her giggle.
