Kelly grumbled at the feeling of someone shaking her gently. She snuggled further into the warm body before her.
"Y'all should wake up."
Carrie stretched, yawning as she opened an eye to find Jessica standing over them. She looked over her shoulder, around the room groggily to find Mary and Lyndsey still sound asleep on the floor. She then looked down at Kelly who had fallen back asleep in her arms, one of her fists clinging tightly to her shirt. Carrie offered Jessica a thankful smile before rubbing Kelly's back.
"No," Kelly mumbled into her neck.
"Kell, come on," Carrie whispered as Jessica walked out the room. "You don't want the others to find us sleeping like this."
Kelly sighed in defeat.
Carrie's eyes closed at the feeling of Kelly's lips parting against her skin in a slow kiss. She laughed softly, feeling the Texan pull away, "Good morning to you too."
Kelly smiled in reply.
"Let's get up," Carrie suggested, running a hand through the shorter girl's hair. "Jessica's already up."
"She saw us?"
"Yea, I think she went fix something to eat."
"Did she seem upset?"
"Not really," Carrie shook her head. "More worried that the others would see. That's a good sign, right?"
Kelly nodded, looking over Carrie's shoulder before leaning closer to kiss her softly, "I had a great night."
"Good, I'm glad," Carrie smiled, slowly sitting up. "Do you wanna go fix something to eat?"
"Um, actually, I wanna go talk to Jebbie for a bit if that's alright?"
"That's fine," Carrie nodded. "I'll go take a shower."
"Thanks," Kelly replied as Carrie leaned down, kissing the top of her head.
"And for the record," Carrie turned back after she climbed out of the bed. "I had a great night too."
Kelly bit her bottom lip to keep from smiling too broadly as Carrie walked out of the room.

"Good Morning," Kelly smiled, walking into the small kitchen where Jessica was making scrambled eggs. "Look at you...little homemaker, you."
Jessica laughed, "Hey dork. Slept good?"
"Um, yea. I slept hard."
"Yea, you were out cold," Jessica nodded. "Sorry I had to wake you."
"Yea?"
"Yea, you looked...y'all were really cute," she admitted with a smile. "But y'all were definitely...you can tell there was something there, and I didn't want Mary and Lyndsey waking up and seeing y'all."
"Thanks," Kelly replied, looking at her nervously. "So you're ok with this?"
"Yea," she wrapped an arm around the younger girl, pulling her to her side. "It'd be extremely hypocritical of me to be ok with Ashley liking you, but to not be ok with you liking Carrie, especially when she seems to really like you back as well. So yea, I'm ok with it."
"Thanks Jebbie," Kelly hugged her side tightly.
"You're welcome," Jessica laughed softly, rubbing her back.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Did you um...you didn't hear anything last night, did you?"
"No, I slept through the night," she shrugged. "Why?"
Kelly blushed.
Jessica raised an eyebrow, "What did y'all do?"
"We were just kissing."
Jessica shook her head, smiling, "I swear...but no, I didn't hear anything, and I'm a crazy light sleeper, so I think y'all are safe."
"Ok, good," Kelly sighed in relief.
"Couldn't wait till y'all were alone?"
"She's a really good kisser," Kelly admitted.
"So I take it y'all are past the practicing stage, if y'all are doing it just to enjoy it?"
"Yea, we're past the practicing stage."
"And you're ok?" Jessica studied her carefully. "You're happy? Not like freaking out?"
"It just feels so right," Kelly replied. "Like, kissing her just comes naturally, you know?"
Jessica nodded.
"Is that how it is with you and Boo?"
"Yea," Jessica replied honestly, hugging her a little tighter. "That's exactly how it is with me and Boo."
Kelly smiled, stealing a piece of bacon from one of the pans.

Carrie smiled, waving as Mary and Lyndsey walked out of the apartment, Jessica having long left to go to work.
Kelly closed the door behind them before turning to Carrie with a grin. She walked over to the couch where the taller girl was sitting before hopping on it, straddling her, "Hey."
"Hey..." Carrie ran a hand down her arm.
Kelly's smile grew as she leaned down, kissing her.
Carrie giggled as she pulled back, "So what are the plans for this afternoon?"
"This," Kelly nodded, wrapping her arms around her neck.
"Now, while I really, really love that plan," Carrie kissed her softly. "I have to work on my paper."
Kelly raised an eyebrow, "Your paper?"
"The final paper in English."
"The Romeo and Juliet one?" Kelly questioned. "The one you told me you finished on Friday?"
"Hey, hey, I'm supposed to be the stiff when it comes to school work, not you."
"So why did you lie and tell me you were done?"
"Hm...if I remember, we were in a very similar position to this one, and it was either tell the truth and do my paper or lie and continue kissing you...naturally I chose the second choice."
Kelly fought down the huge grin that was rising, "I don't like that you lied to me."
"No, but you love that I rather kiss you than do anything else," Carrie smirked, knowingly.
"Ok, yea," Kelly allowed, giggling as Carrie pulled her closer, kissing her sweetly.
"You're so cute," Carrie whispered against her lips.
"You're not so bad yourself," Kelly replied.
Carrie brushed their noses together before reaching up and kissing the Texan's forehead.
"You still want me to help you with the paper?" Kelly asked, unstraddling the other blonde, allowing her to stand.
"Yea, definitely," Carrie nodded before freezing. "Wait..."
"What?"
"All my stuff's at my house..."
"Oh."
"I mean, I still would love your help...if you're ok with being over there."
"It's up to you," Kelly shrugged. "Things seem to be somewhat calm with your family, and I don't want to mess that up."
Carrie nodded, thinking for a moment before holding out her hand, "Come on. I want you there."
Kelly smiled, taking her hand, following her back to her bedroom to find their shoes.
+++++++++++++
"Both of them are here," Carrie noted as she pulled into the driveway. "You know, maybe I should just get my stuff and we'll go back to your place, and work on it there."
"We'd have to go to the library," Kelly shook her head. "I don't have a computer."
Carrie chewed on her bottom lip. She wasn't too fond of the thought of being surrounded by strangers after having been surrounded by people the entire evening before. It was getting harder and harder for her to keep her hands to herself when she was around the other girl, and all she really wanted was a couple of hours to have Kelly all to herself.
"You know, here's fine," Kelly squezed her hand that she was holding. "I'm ok here."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive," she smiled, bringing her hand to her lips, kissing it softly before getting out of the car.
Carrie took a nervous breath before getting out of the car as well and following Kelly to the front door. "If my mom says anything..."
"It's gonna be fine," Kelly assured, rubbing her back.
Carrie nodded, opening the door and walking into the house, "Dad, I'm home!"
"In the living room," she heard her father's voice reply.
Carrie walked towards the living room, Kelly staying a couple steps behind her.
"Hey Care Bear," Stephen greeted when Carrie walked into the room. "Did you girls have a fun night?"
"Yea, we had a lot of fun," Carrie nodded.
"And how about Kelly? Did she seem like she enjoyed it?"
"Yea," Carrie laughed softly.
Kelly went to step into the room but froze at the sound of Carole's voice.
"It's really nice of you girls to do something like that," Carole commented. "I'm sure she probably doesn't get that many gifts seeing as her family is so tight on money."
Carrie winced slightly, "Mom..."
"What?" she asked innocently. "You want me to be supportive of your friendship--I'm trying. Would you rather me be honest and say that I wish you wouldn't hang out with that girl? That she isn't the type that you should be surrounding yourself with?"
Carrie felt sick to her stomach. She turned to Kelly who was standing with her jaw set. She reached a hand back for her, looking at her apologetically as the Texan took her hand. "We're gonna be studying upstairs," she turned back to her parents.
"We?" Carole questioned.
Carrie tugged on Kelly's hand gently, leading her past the living room towards the staircase.
"Hey Mr. Underwood," Kelly greeted softly before walking up the staircase and into Carrie's room.
"Baby, I am so sorry," Carrie turned to her after closing the door. "She didn't know you were there."
Kelly frowned.
"Not that it gives her the right to say something like that whether you're there or not," she quickly corrected.
"It's ok," Kelly stepped to her.
Carrie immediately got the hint, wrapping her arms around her, hugging her tightly. "We can go to the library if you want."
"We're already here," Kelly shook her head. "Might as well stay."
Carrie rubbed her back as she pulled away, "Let's get started then."
Kelly nodded, following her to her bed where her books were spread. She hopped on, smiling when Carrie joined her.
"Don't get any ideas," Carrie warned playfully.
"Ideas?" Kelly asked innocently. "What ideas? I don't have any ideas."
"Sure..."
Kelly smiled, reaching out and grabbing her by the shirt, pulling her closer.
"Is this you not having any ideas?"
"This is me thanking you for not listening to your mom about me."
"Oh...well, in that case, thank away," she grinned.
Kelly laughed as she pulled her even closer, kissing her deeply.
When Carrie finally pulled away, she was breathless, "Wow...you are very welcome."
Kelly kissed her lightly, grinning, before letting her go and reaching for her English book, "Now, let's get to studying."
+++++++++++
Kelly laughed, "Oh, we're at your favorite part."
"What?" Carrie looked up from the notebook she was writing her rough draft in as she sat, leaning against her headboard.
Kelly handed her the book.
Carrie smiled, "Well, can you blame me? I have rather fond memories of this part."
"Yea?"
"Yea," Carrie nodded, reaching out for her, pulling her onto to her lap.
Kelly smiled at her.
"I remember us being in a similar position to this...maybe a small kiss was involved," she reached forward, pressing their lips together softly. "Very fond memories."
Kelly's smile grew.
"Remind me?"
Kelly laughed softly.
"Oh, come on. I have to admit, you reciting Shakespeare...it was kinda hot."
Kelly could feel herself blushing.
Carrie kissed her again.
"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo," Kelly recited, holding Carrie's gaze, smirking slightly. "Deny thy father, and refuse thy name. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love...and I'll no longer be a Capulet."
Carrie took both of Kelly's hands into her own, "Shall I hear more? Or shall I speak at this?"
Kelly licked her lips, leaning a little closer, "Tis but thy name that is my enemy. Thou art thyself, though not a Montague. What is a Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot, nor arm, nor face, nor any other part belonging to a man. Oh, be some other name."
Carrie took a slow breath as Kelly's eyes still held her own, the Texan's voice drawing out the emotion of each word. She felt herself leaning closer as Kelly's voice softened.
"What's in a name? That which what call a rose by any other word would smell just as sweet. So Romeo would, were he not Romeo called," her eyes held a hint of sadness as she broke their gaze. Her eyes moved over Carrie's face, taking in her soft features. "Retain that dear perfection which he owes without that title. Romeo, doff thy name, and for that name which is no part of thee, take all of myself."
Carrie's heart sped up as Kelly met her eye once more. She quickly lunged forward, pressing their lips together firmly, pulling back after a moment, watching as the shorter girl steadied herself, "I love you."
"What?" Kelly's eyes became wide.
"I love you," Carrie smiled.
Kelly shook her head, "Y-you don't love me. We just...we just started dating."
"So?" Carrie questioned. "We've been kissing for a while. We were practically dating. We just didn't put a name to it."
"You don't love me," Kelly repeated, scooting back, off her lap.
"No, Kell, I do," Carrie insisted, moving closer, kneeling before her. "I mean, I've been with other people before, and not once did I come remotely close to feeling the way that I feel when I'm with you. I love you."
Kelly shook her head, looking around nervously.
"Why are you upset?" Carrie asked, confused. "I just told you that I love you. You should be happy."
"Care..." Kelly could feel her eyes tearing up.
"Baby," Carrie reached out, pulling her back to her. She wrapped her arms around her, hugging her tightly. "It's ok...sh..." she soothed as Kelly cried into her neck. "Baby, it's ok. You don't have to say it back, you know? I understand if you're not ready to say it yet. Is that what's bothering you?"
Kelly wrapped her arms around her neck, clinging to her.
"Are you scared?" Carrie asked. "Baby, it's ok to be scared. I know you've been through a lot with your family, and I know how much that makes you question everything, especially stuff like this, but that's ok. When I say I love you, I mean it with all my heart. I'm not gonna just change my mind and walk away, ok? I promise."
Kelly sniffed, burying her face further into her warm skin.
"And I know that all of this is so new to you, and that's ok too. We're in this together," she rubbed her back comfortingly. She could feel Kelly relaxing in her arms. She tilted her head down, kissing her forehead.
"I didn't mean for it to sound like I was doubting you," Kelly said softly.
"It's ok," Carrie replied.
"I just...you surprised me..."
"I think I surpised myself."
"You don't think it's too soon?" she pulled back so that she could look at her.
Carrie smiled, reaching out to brush the tears from her cheeks, "Romeo and Juliet...it took them of all what? A day to fall in love?"
Kelly smiled.
"Shoot, going by their standards we sould've been married and dead months ago."
Kelly laughed softly.
Carrie's smile grew.
"You really love me."
"I do," she nodded.
Kelly reached forward, kissing her softly, cradling her face in her hands when she pulled back. "I think I love you too."
"Yea?"
"Yea," Kelly bit her bottom lip, nervously. "I mean, I don't think...I do...I love you, Care."
Carrie's face lit up as she lunged forward once more, wrapping her arms around the Texan, tackling her into the bed as she hugged her tightly.
Kelly giggled, hugging her back.

Carrie lightly pressed her lips across the Texan's shoulder as she lay behind her, her arm wrapped around her stomach, her hand underneath the t-shirt she was wearing, smoothing over the soft skin.
Kelly mumbled incoherently as she fought against the urge to wake up.
Carrie smiled, kissing her neck softly.
Kelly turned over in her arms, snuggling into her.
Carrie laughed, rubbing her back soothingly.
"What time is it?" Kelly mumbled.
"Eight. We fell asleep a couple hours ago while studying," Carrie explained. "I should bring you home."
"No," Kelly fussed, wrapping her arms around her waist, securely.
"We have school tomorrow," Carrie reminded.
"So?"
"So, I need to bring you home so you can get some sleep."
"Or I can just sleep here."
"I wish you could, but you know I can't have people stay over on school nights."
Kelly nodded, nuzzling into her neck, "Just five more minutes, ok?"
"Ok," Carrie smiled.

"Hey Mom," Kelly smiled as she walked into the apartment.
"Hey sweetie," Jeanne replied back from the kitchen. "Carrie didn't want to come up to visit for a little while?"
"No, she had to get back home. Her parents don't like her out too late on a school night," Kelly explained, hopping onto a bar stool next to the snackbar that separated the dining room and kitchen. "Are those brownies?"
Jeanne laughed softly, "Yes, I had a little free time on my hands, so I thought this would be fun."
Kelly studied her mom carefully, "You? Free time?"
Jeanne shrugged.
"You're lying. You never have free time," Kelly shook her head. "Something's wrong. What is it?"
Jeanne sighed, pouring her daughter a glass of milk and placing it before her.
"Mom...what's going on?" Kelly asked, keeping her voice calm.
"I just got off the phone with your brother," Jeanne explained, not quite meeting her eye.
"What? Did he wreck his vehicle again or something?"
"No..." she frowned. "I told him that I wouldn't be attending his wedding."
"What?" Kelly's eyebrows shot up. "What do you mean? How can you not go to Jason's wedding?"
"Well, you're flying up there early, and you know that Jason doesn't want Jimmy up there, so I'd be flying all the way by myself. Plus, tickets are so expensive..."
Kelly's face tensed, "You're lying again."
"Kelly--"
"No, you just don't want to go because my father's gonna be there."
Jeanne turned to save the milk back in the fridge.
"That's it, isn't it? Of course Jason invited him, because he spent so many years with him, and you can't just put your feelings aside for one day to attend the wedding of your own child."
"Kelly, you don't understand. You're too young. This is over your head."
"Over my head?" Kelly's voice cracked as it rose several pitches. "Over my head? It wasn't over my head when I was just a little kid and the two of you would have screaming matches that the entire neighborhood could hear. It wasn't over my head when we moved back here, and you'd rip into him every chance you got, tearing him down in front of me to make sure that I knew whose fault it was that our family was torn apart. You didn't think it was over my head then, so why should it be now, Mom?"
"You don't get it," Jeanne shook her head.
"No, I get it perfectly," Kelly stood. "If anything, you're the one that needs to grow up, not me."
Jeanne sighed heavily as Kelly walked away, slamming the door to her room.
