Carrie frowned when she walked into the bedroom to find Kelly sound asleep on top of the covers, fully dressed in her pajamas. She noted how tense she was in the little ball she was curled into as she walked to the bed. She placed a gentle hand on Kelly's cheek as she pulled the covers back before climbing onto the bed next to her, pulling the blankets around them. Carrie pulled the shorter girl closer, and Kelly immediately buried her face in her neck. "What happened?" Carrie asked gently. She could feel Kelly shaking slightly against her as she fought back tears.
Kelly shook her head, her fist subconsiously clenching around Carrie's shirt as she felt herself starting to cry again.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Carrie questioned, rubbing her back comfortingly. "You were fine when I dropped you off last night. Did something happen? Did you get in a fight with your parents or something?"
Kelly gave a small nod, tears falling harder as Carrie wrapped her arms securely around her.
"It's ok," Carrie soothed hugging her tightly. "It's all gonna be ok."

Carrie kissed Kelly softly as the Texan finally stopped crying, "Feeling better?"
"A little," she replied, her voice strained from the tears. "How'd you...how'd you know I was upset?"
"Everything was wrong," Carrie shrugged, stroking her cheek gently. "You still had all of your clothes on, you weren't all the way in your bed, you didn't look at all peaceful like you always do when you're asleep...kinda like you had cried yourself to sleep or something."
Kelly didn't meet her eye.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
She swallowed, "My mom's not going to Jason's wedding."
"Why not?"
"Because my father's going to be there," she frowned.
"I'm sorry," Carrie moved closer, kissing her forehead.
"It just...it brought up a lot of memories, you know?"
Carrie nodded, "Yea, I bet."
"I can't believe after all these years, she's gonna act like this," Kelly shook her head, sniffing back more tears. "I mean, it's Jason's wedding. This is like a once in a lifetime thing...well, maybe not in this family..."
Carrie smiled sadly, "Did you try talking to her?"
Kelly looked at her guiltily.
"You blew up on her, huh?"
"A little bit, yea, but she knew it was coming."
"Why'd you say that?"
"She made me brownies."
Carrie smiled, "Trying to get on your good side before going in for the kill."
"Yea," Kelly laughed softly.
"Is there anything I can do to make this better?"
"Let me lay with you?"
"That, I can definitely do," she nodded. "Your mom doesn't have any appointments or anything today, right? She's not gonna be coming home early like last time, is she?"
"No," Kelly shook her head. "She's actually tutoring a couple kids after school, so if anything she'll be late."
"Good, cause it sucked when you were grounded," she leaned forward, kissing her again.
Kelly smiled into the kiss, scooting closer to her as Carrie's arm wrapped around her.
"What?" she asked when the Texan pulled back with a grin.
"I like kissing you."
"Yea?" Carrie giggled. "Well, that's good because I plan on kissing you a lot."
Kelly bit her bottom lip as Carrie pulled her even closer.
"I hope that's ok with you?"
Kelly nodded, her fingers resting lightly on the other blonde's neck as she brushed their lips together.
Carrie took a deep breath, "You do know that it drives me crazy when you do that, right?"
"Bad crazy?"
"Good crazy."
"Cool," Kelly beamed.
"Cool," she laughed in agreement, kissing her gently.
Kelly pulled back, covering her mouth as she yawned, "Sorry..."
"No, it's fine," Carrie smiled. "You didn't sleep well last night, did you?"
She shook her head.
"Ok," Carrie turned onto her back, pulling Kelly to her side.
Kelly instinctively curled into her, draping her arm over the other girl's stomach.
Carrie kissed her forehead, "Don't worry about the stuff with your mom right now, ok? Just get some sleep."
Kelly snuggled into her a little more.
"It's gonna be ok," Carrie rested her cheek against her forehead.

Carrie bit her lip softly as she felt Kelly place one light kiss after another along her neck.
Kelly raised a tentative hand, placing it on Carrie's waist as they remained laying in bed, facing each other. She pushed herself up, smiling softly as she kissed Carrie on the lips, her thumb rubbing back and forth over the taller girl's t-shirt.
Carrie moved a little closer, deepening the kiss. Her hand was resting on Kelly's hip as her tongue pushed against the Texan's. Her heart sped up at the feeling of Kelly moaning into her mouth, and she slid her hand from her hip to her lower back, pulling her to her.
Kelly pushed into her, wanting to be as close to the other girl as Carrie would allow. Her hand slowly started to smooth over her side as Carrie's arm wrapped around her tightly.
Carrie turned onto her back, pulling Kelly on top of her. She ran a hand through her hair, pulling her down eagerly. She felt Kelly's hand quickly slipping under her shirt, moving across her skin as she started to kiss her fervently. Carrie giggled.
"What?" Kelly asked breathlessly.
"Nothing," Carrie giggled again, kissing her.
"Care..." Kelly smiled, hovering over her. "What's so funny?"
Carrie's eyes were glued to her swollen lips.
Kelly's smile grew as Carrie leaned up, kissing her again.
"You're just so..." she pressed their lips together. "I love it...I love you."
"I love you too," Kelly cradled her cheek. "But that doesn't mean I break out into laughter whenever you kiss me."
"It wasn't laughter. It was a giggle, and it's because you're just so..."
"So I've gathered," Kelly laughed softly, sitting back on Carrie's legs.
Carrie pushed herself up on her elbows, "I love how you're still afraid to touch me sometimes...like you're still nervous where to put your hands, but as soon as things heat up, you dive in head first."
"I feel comfortable with you," Kelly shrugged.
"But you still feel nervous?" Carrie looked at her, confused.
"No," she smiled. "I don't dive in head first because I'm comfortable with you. I'm nervous because I'm comfortable with you."
"Yea...that makes no sense," Carrie laughed.
"I guess vulnerable would be a better word than nervous," Kelly admitted.
Carrie smiled, taking her hand in her own.
"I feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable with you," Kelly explained.
"And when things heat up?"
"You're a really good kisser," she nodded, almost breathless at the thought.
Carrie giggled again.
"And I just...you make me...I want to feel you and be close to you and just...love you..."
"Love me?"
"That's why they call it making love, right?" Kelly blushed, unsurely. "Because you're showing the other person how you feel and how much you love them?"
"Yea," Carrie nodded, bringing her hand to her lips, kissing her knuckles softly. "That's why they call it making love."
"I love you."
"I know," she smiled.
"I want to show you."
"I know."
"Do you think we're ready?" Kelly looked at her nervously.
"Do you?"
Kelly bit her bottom lip.
"Almost," Carrie nodded, kissing her hand again.
"Do you think we're going too fast? Or too slow? Or...I don't know. I don't have anything to base this off of."
"I think we're going at the perfect speed for us," Carrie assured. "And you can't base it off of other couples and their relationships because they're not us, ok?"
"Ok," she nodded.
Carrie pushed herself up so that she was sitting.
Kelly smiled as the taller girl leaned to her, kissing her gently.
"I love you," Carrie smiled back. She kissed the tip of her nose, her smile growing at the soft rasp in the Texan's light laugh. "Promise me something?"
"Of course."
"Promise me that even when you're big and famous that you'll always be so...heartwarming."
"Heartwarming? How do I be heartwarming? Well, or not heartwarming?"
Carrie gave her hand a gentle squeeze, "Just promise you won't let them change you. You're too special for them to change you."
"I won't," Kelly promised.
"Good," Carrie reached up, kissing her forehead before turning to look at the clock. "We can still make it in time for our last two classes if you want."
"If I want to become a singer, I should probably go to choir," Kelly agreed.
"I'll go fix us a couple sandwiches real quick, and you can get dressed, ok?"
"Ok," Kelly smiled, kissing her. "I love you."
"I love you too," Carrie kissed her back.
Kelly beamed.
Carrie giggled, leaning back in for one more kiss, "Yea, you're way too special for them to change."
