A/N: Okay, so here's an update. And just for Sally Skel, I give extra special hugs and love. Sorry the update's so long in coming. But your note made me giggle for at least 15 minutes straight. It totally made my day to know that people are so in love with this silly never-ending story of mine. Hopefully updates will be a few more before I move back to college on the 2nd (*continues to count down*). Believe me when I say that I will try to keep the updates moving along as regularly and quickly as I can. I love writing this story about as much as you guys love to read it. And I also have no idea if this story is ever going to end (as me and Cat have ideas for the future of our series even after the weddings), so I hope you guys enjoy!
I'm serious when I suggest those who love this story check out Ivy (Rogue_Vampyre) and Cat (Emo_Koala)'s stories. We seem to have created a series going, and it just seems to keep twisting and winding along. If you love this story, check these others out. Not to mention my wonderful reviewbies stories as well. I love reading you guys as much as writing my story. *hugs*
Well, enough useless author drivel, you probably just want the new chapter, so here goes. *goes off to work on next chapter*
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Instead of waiting around for Pete and Ivy to come back to their senses and consciousness, it seemed, Becca and Patrick merely grabbed some things of Becca’s before heading back over to his place to spend the morning. Becca had thrown a few things of clothing and such into a bag and merely stood outside of her brother’s door and told them that they were going to go back over to his place for the morning so as to give Ivy enough time to clean up the house before either of them decided to come back for any lengths of time.
Back at Patrick’s, they crashed on his couch to watch movies before lunch and Becca’s trip of going around to tell all the others her news then wedding shopping with Cat. After they had finished the first of the movies, Becca went to grab a shower and get dressed, as Patrick dealt with a phone call from their manager. She felt infinitely better as she stepped out of the shower, drying herself before dressing in a pair of loose blue jeans and t-shirt.
Becca laughed as she walked back into the living room to see Patrick juggling both cell phones. He turned at the noise and smiled, holding her cell phone out to her before turning his attention back to his own with a grin. She shook her head giggling before sitting down on the couch, the phone to her ear.
“Hello?”
“So I call you to see how your night went and your fiancé answers? I don’t know what to think, Becca.”
She giggled at Spencer’s teasing comment, although she could easily imagine some of the things that might be going through her friend’s head at the moment.
“Nice to talk to you too. I merely left my cell in the living room with my purse while I went to grab a shower.”
“Showering at his place, huh? Must have been some night.”
“Oh hush. You’re almost as bad as Ivy. But all that happened was after we finished our evening out we went back home and sorta started kissing on the couch when Pete and Ivy walked in, so we just came here for the night. ... That’s just making it sound worse, isn’t it?”
“Oh yeah. So I assume that by all the scandalous sleeping situations and such I guess my congrats go out to you two.”
“Of course. Besides, I should be thanking you for your help in Patrick’s plot. It was truly perfect. Spencey, you’re priceless.”
“I know I am.”
Becca giggled at Spencer’s smug way of answering her compliment. She knew that he was probably as happy for her as anyone could be. She grinned as Patrick finished with whoever he had been talking to and slid back on the couch, wrapping his arms around her.
“But how about we grab something to eat later and I’ll let you in on all the details that you might have missed. And you can tell me all about how your night after rushing out from karaoke went. Deal?”
She smirked at the small laugh from Spencer’s end when she asked about what happened after he ran off after the karaoke disaster. Although what made her giggle was hearing Brendon’s voice on the other end, saying something muffled.
“Sure, Reby. But I should go now. Let you two lovebirds get back to whatever you were doing. Just give me a call when you’re wanting to set up lunch or whatever. I think someone’s at the door. Gotta run.”
“Love you too, Spencey. I’ll talk to you later then.”
Becca laughed as she heard Spencer’s chuckle before a hurried bye as the phone went dead. It seemed he was having fun, at least. She closed her cell and slid back onto the couch, smiling as she laid her head lightly on Patrick’s shoulder.
She laughed as Patrick’s cell phone began to ring again. It seemed they were quite popular this morning. She shifted so he could get the phone and answer it, trying to keep her curiosity at bay. She had a horrible curiosity and smirked as Patrick seemed to purposely turn the ID away from her eyes. She playfully stuck her tongue out at him, only to laugh as he playfully kissed her on the cheek before answering the phone.
“Hello. ... Is everything alright? What’s wrong? ... Um, yeah, sure. I suppose we’ll head over then. ... Bye.”
Becca frowned as she heard Patrick asking what was wrong. That wasn’t a good sign. When he hung up, she raised an eyebrow to get an explanation. After all, it wasn’t every day that a conversation like that happened.
“Something came up at your house. That was Pete. He said something about a mystery situation that he couldn’t talk about over the phone and asked if we could head back over.”
“I hope everything’s okay. You don’t mind our lazy session being ruined, do you?”
“Of course not. Besides, you have lunch with Spencer soon enough, and I was going to work out some things with Pete anyways. So don’t worry about it. Come on and let’s go see what’s wrong at your place.”
Becca nodded and gave Patrick a light kiss before grabbing her purse and following Patrick out to his car.
~*~
Becca and Patrick had gotten back to her house just as Ivy was leaving for lunch with Cat. Becca had giggled and hugged Ivy’s cousin tightly before promising to catch up soon enough. Although she giggled as Mickey mentioned something about heading out to see the city with Jon. That made her feel good. Because after all the relationship things that had been going on lately, she had felt bad about Jon being sort of left out.
So it ended up that it was only Pete at home when they managed to get there to find out what the big emergency was. Becca raised an eyebrow as she stood before her brother after he walked back in from going with Ivy out to her car. That alone gave her a bit of alarm.
“What’s the emergency, Petey? Ivy seemed more upset than I’ve seen her in a while. Jon and Mickey rush off on their own. And then you walk out to the car with Ivy. So spill it. Besides, I have to run soon enough, as I promised Spencer I’d have lunch with him.”
Pete shuffled around a little bit, uncomfortable at Becca’s stare that she gave him when he was about to be in trouble. It was definitely a look that couldn’t be ignored, and Becca was proud of that fact.
“Ivy’s parents are getting a divorce. Her mom called this morning, and her dad told her the news. She was pretty shook up about the news.”
Becca covered her mouth with a hand. That was terrible. Sure, Becca had never been fond of Ivy’s mom. But she would never wish something like divorce on anyone. Least of all one of her best friends.
“Oh god. No wonder. I hope everything turns out okay. I mean, I can’t really say I didn’t expect it or such. Things have been less than perfect with her parents for a while I guess. But don’t worry, Petey. Ivy will bounce back just fine. You and I both know that she’s a tough one.”
She jumped as she heard the large grandfather clock start to chime. She glanced down at her watch and bit her lip, wondering if she should excuse herself or not. She knew that Spencer would understand if their lunch was a little later than normal, after all, he probably wouldn’t mind a little extra time on his own. The boys must have noticed because Patrick wrapped his arms around her from behind leaving a light kiss on her cheek.
“Don’t worry about it, Reby. Go ahead and have your lunch. We have some stuff to do on our own.”
Becca smiled and turned in his arms giving him a hug and quick kiss before moving to leave a kiss on her brother’s cheek as well. She nodded and waved before heading off towards the door and her car to have lunch.
“Thanks boys. And have fun. I might drop over and tell the others after lunch too. See you two later.”
She grinned before heading out to her car, calling Spencer on her cell to see where he wanted to grab some lunch.
