Rebecca pulled up outside of their favorite burger spot and hopped out grinning as she saw Spencer sitting in the extra car that the boys shared while in Chicago. She walked over with a smile and tapped on the window, giggling even more as Spencer jumped at the noise, hurriedly finishing with his call, closing his cell and putting it away with a smile before getting out of the car himself. He quickly pulled her into a tight hug as soon as he cleared the car door. She giggled as she squirmed free of Spencer’s hug and pulled him off towards the entrance to the burger joint.
It was only after they had gotten their lunch and sat down at one of the tables that they could actually talk. The girl who had been taking their orders was a fan of the boys, so Spencer had politely signed something for her and agreed to take a picture on the girl’s camera phone. Becca had giggled and took the picture for the happy girl, glad that nobody seemed to recognize or identify her. She pulled out her burger and laughed at the overdramatic roll of his eyes as he took out his own meal.
“So wow, Becca. Having meal with an engaged lady, I feel old now.”
“Oh hush, Spence. Besides, should I remind you that you’re older than me?”
“Only by a month, thank you very much.”
“Yeah, I know. But I’m still getting used to being engaged myself, so you don’t have to remind me about that matter.”
“But you know I’m sending you and Patrick the best of luck and my love for you two. Have you talked about any of the details yet?”
Becca laughed and shook her head. She hadn’t even begun to think about the details of her wedding yet. She was still worrying over Cat’s wedding right now, so thoughts of planning her own wedding weren’t quite on her mind yet.
“I have no idea, Spencey. I mean, he just proposed last night. And besides, Cat’s wedding is top planning right now. As it’s just around the corner. So I guess that after Cat and Ryan head off on their own, it will be time to plan my own. God, that’s still weird to think of.”
“Don’t worry about it, Becca. It’s still new, so of course it will probably be weird. But I’m glad he finally got up the nerve to ask. He’s been pestering me about asking if I had any ideas on how to pull off what he was wanting to do for several weeks at least. I have to admit it was cute to see how flustered he would get, he wanted to make sure it was absolutely perfect for you. So I’m glad it was everything you could imagine and more.”
“Spencey, you’re too cute. But I’m glad you were there to help out, because if he were to ask Pete, I’m pretty sure that Petey would have spilled on accident.”
“Oh yeah. Your brother can’t keep secrets to save his life. Besides, he probably would have told Ivy and there’s no telling where that might have ended.”
Becca laughed and shook her head as she ate more of her burger. She could imagine what might have happened if Pete had known about the proposal plot. At the very least he probably would have accidentally let something slip to her. She grinned as Spencer grabbed her hand to examine the ring with a playful whistle.
“That’s a nice one, Becca. When Patrick said it was a nice ring, he wasn’t lying. I’m really happy for you. You know I couldn’t have given you to anyone who wasn’t perfect for you.”
Becca smiled and nodded. It meant a lot to her that she had such great friends. She giggled at the mention that he couldn’t give her to anyone less than perfect. It made her feel good to know that things with them were truly settled.
“And just who are you to be giving me away? I don’t remember you being my owner.”
“Oh yes. You were just probably too drunk to remember signing yourself over to me.”
She laughed and shook her head lightly at the conversation. She jumped as her cell phone beeped showing a missed call from April. That was strange, she didn’t hear it ring, and it wasn’t on silent. She merely shrugged as she finished up her meal. She would have to call April back as soon as she could. She felt bad that she hadn’t talked to April much since the trial then Cat’s wedding plans had gone full swing.
Becca hit herself on the forehead lightly. Of course. She was supposed to meet up with Cat to go shopping for the wedding today. That would be the perfect time to surprise her and the other boys with the news about her engagement. She laughed as Spencer seemed to be looking at her weirdly, obviously curious as to what she was doing hitting herself in the head.
“Just remembered that I’m supposed to go meet Cat for wedding shopping. I figure I can break the news about this on them then. I assume Brendon found out when you were on the phone with me earlier? How are you two anyways? I haven’t heard much from you two after karaoke.”
Spencer blushed and cleared his throat, after taking another bite of his burger, finishing it off. Becca laughed and shook her head with a grin. So things with him and Brendon seemed to have been working out it seemed.
“Oh, we’re okay I guess. Nothing really that monumental has happened. Nothing like a proposal or such. You win the interesting news award.”
“So I take it you two are an item now? Good. I’m glad you got someone to keep up with. And believe me, from what I know of Brendon, you’ll have your hands full with him. It’s really okay, Spence. I’m happy for you guys.”
Becca laughed as Spencer’s blush. She stood and left a kiss on his cheek before nodding towards the exit. She would need to get over to pick up Cat soon or she would probably get a call asking what had happened.
“Well darling, I have to run for wedding stuff. Thanks again for everything, Spencey. Do you have any plans, or are you off to help the boys with their part of the planning?”
“Guy planning. After all, I am the Best Man. Or have you forgotten that we get to be partners for their big day?”
“Of course not. How could I forget such a big and appealing detail? That’s the high point of the wedding for me. But I better get over there before Cat thinks I’ve abandoned her. Have fun with the boys, Spence.”
Becca gave Spencer another hug and kiss on the cheek as she headed back out to her car to head over to pick up Cat to go do their part of the shopping and such before Cat’s mom arrived in a few days. That would be when things got scary.

Rather than ringing the bell or such, Becca decided to just use the spare key to make it even more of a surprise, as she wanted to figure out some sort of interesting way to tell them about the proposal and such. After all, simple normal ways were never really her tastes. Although when she walked into the living room, Becca instantly wished she had rang the bell or at least knocked. It seemed to be a trend lately to walk in on her friends in the midst of things, or at the very least the tail end of them. She looked away, shaking her head laughing.
“Ahh, my eyes!”
At least her comment seemed to have gotten the couple to notice as they instantly hopped up in a flurry trying to hide themselves from her. But she really didn’t want to see two of her best friends naked like that. She giggled at the two argued playfully with each other, as she kept her gaze averted while whistling to herself.
“Oh thanks a lot, hide behind me, where am I supposed to hide.”
“Use a pillow, love, here ...”
“Nice of you to drop by.”
Becca turned as Ryan took the pillow from Cat and covered himself with a sheepish grin, not looking at her directly. She merely giggled, covering her mouth with a hand, not even realizing it was her left hand with the ring on it. She giggled even more at Cat wrapped in one of the throws from the couch. She would have to remind someone to make sure the pillow and throw were washed before they were used again.
“Something funny Becca?”
She shook her head giggling still. She still couldn’t find anything to say to the situation. But from the look on Ryan’s face he must have noticed the ring.
“So Becca, Patrick finally popped the question?”
Becca noticed something moving on the computer screen and walked over to see what it was. She nodded in response to Ryan’s question, a little miffed about not being able to pop the news more interestingly. Although she had to admit, she doubted they would forget this bit of news soon.
“Yes.”
Cat squealed and threw an arm around her in a tight hug, keeping hold of the throw tightly with the other hand. Obviously Cat was thrilled, and by the grin on Ryan’s face, he seemed to be as well. Although it seemed he was in on the proposal plot as well.
“Bloody Brilliant!”
Becca noticed what was on the computer and started to laugh hysterically. Oh boy, this was another added stack against her friends forgetting this bit of news and today.
“What's so fun-?”
There on the computer was a comment back to the webcam, which seemed to be still running. ....Man, it's called turning off your webcam. Thanks for the memory, I think I'm blind now. Becca giggled as Cat turned back to Ryan with a questioning look.
“Love, who were you having a webcam chat with today?”
Ryan’s eyes widened as he realized what was going on, his cheeks turning a bright red.
“Pete ...”
Becca doubled over in laughter at this. After she had managed to calm down enough to keep from hyperventilating, she shook off Ryan and Cat’s embarrassment. After all, her brother had been caught in the same situation, just that morning.
“Don’t worry about it, Ry. If Petey starts teasing you too much, you should just remind him that him and Ivy were walked in on as well. This morning, in fact. ... Today’s a bad day on that matter. First I walk in on Pete and Ivy, now you two.”
Becca shook her head before turning to Cat with a grin.
“So I suppose I’m going to have to wait for you to get ready for wedding shopping. Or are we just going to postpone?”
“Just give me a few minutes. Ry, you might want to get dressed too, if you’re going to go planning with the boys. Just wait here.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Becca laughed as she watched Cat and Ryan rush off to get dressed and ready to go about their wedding planning for the day. She glanced at the couch with a laugh before sitting down at the desk, just to be safe.
