"See the little girl lost:
Walking through this world alone.
She ain't looking for a lover,
She's just looking for a home."

"Where's Kelly?" Jason asked as he and Ashley walked into the kitchen with the groceries.
"In the shower," Carrie replied, fixing her a glass of water, freshly showered herself.
"Again?" Ashley asked.
Carrie shrugged, managing to keep her voice steady as she lied to them, "She said she needed to relax."
"This whole up and down thing with Alex really isn't good for her," Jason frowned as he started to save some of the stuff they had bought. "It's completely draining her having to adjust each time. She'd never admit it, but I know she'd probably do anything just to get her mind off of it for a little while."
"Yea," Carrie nodded, feeling a wave of guilt wash over her. How in the world could she have taken advantage of her like that?
Jason shook his head, shrugging it off, looking up at her with a slight smile, "You didn't have to wash to go-carts you know. She never would've made you do that. It was just a joke."
"I know," Carrie laughed softly, realizing that she did know that, and the level of guilt rose. If she'd known that, then why did she do it? Had she wanted Kelly to find her like that?
"Hey, I have an idea," Ashley spoke up.
"Yea?" Jason asked.
Carrie leaned back against the counter, feeling sick.
"Yea," Ashley nodded. "Carrie, why don't you take Kelly out tonight to like a movie or something?"
"Huh?"
"Yea, I mean, we can take care of Alex. The doctor's going to be here, so no big there. Plus, you two haven't had time to really hang out lately, so I think it would be a good way to get her mind off of things," Ashley explained.
"I don't know," Carrie shook her head.
"Come on," Jason pleaded with her. "I think Ashley's right. It would really help her out."
"You know she's not going to want to leave Alex," Carrie pointed out.
"It'll take some work, but I'm sure we can get her to do it," Ashley replied.
"Alright," Carrie nodded, knowing there wasn't much of a way out of it.
"Alright what?" she heard Kelly ask from behind them.
Carrie turned to find her walking into the kitchen, towel drying her hair, "Um, I was just wondering if you felt like going to a movie or something tonight?"
"Ok, sure. You think there's something that Alex would like?"
"Well, actually," Ashley cut in. "We thought maybe you'd want to take a break and go hang out just the two of you."
Carrie couldn't help but feel bad at the look of confusion on the shortest Texan's face.
"The whole point of this week is so I can spend time with Alex," Kelly pointed out.
"We know," Jason assured her. "We just thought a change of scenery for a little while would do you some good."
Kelly shook her head, "No."
"But Kelly--"
"I know what you're trying to do Jay, so just stop it. I'm not your weak baby sister anymore. I can take care of myself just fine," she replied, frowning at Carrie before walking out.
"I told you so," Carrie sighed, hurrying after her. She caught the door to Kelly's room just before it slammed shut. She closed it quietly behind her, wondering if Kelly had forgotten that Alex was still sleeping.
"I'm sorry," Carrie apologized quickly as Kelly sat on the edge of her bed, facing her.
"You don't have to apologize," she shook her head. "I could tell from the look in your eyes that that was probably the last thing you wanted to do."
"No, Kell, that's not it at all," Carrie assured her. "I'm just...and I know you're gonna hate me for saying this, but I'm just worried about you."
"How many times do I have to tell you--"
"I know, I know, I don't have to worry about you. I know that, but I can't help it sometimes."
Kelly sighed heavily, lying back on the bed, her legs dangling over the edge.
"Can you please just talk to me?" Carrie asked softly, walking to the bed and sitting beside her.
"About what?"
"Tell me what's going on in that head of yours."
"I don't even know where to begin," Kelly shook her head, placing her hand on her eyes.
"Kell, please."
"Care..." she warned.
"Well, at least talk to me about us."
"Do we have to do this now?" Kelly asked, moving her hand to look up at her.
Carrie frowned at the amount of pain gazing up at her. "No, I guess not," she replied, moving the Texan's bangs out of her eyes.
Kelly took her hand into her own, tugging on her arm slightly, pulling Carrie down.
Carrie put her hand on the bed on the side of Kelly, holding herself up over the other girl, shaking her head, "Kell..."
But Kelly shook her head as well, bringing a hand up to her cheek, "It's not that. I promise."
"Come out with me tonight," Carrie offered again. "Please?"
Kelly frowned, her thumb tracing along Carrie's bottom lip. Carrie kissed it softly, watching as Kelly's eyes softened. She couldn't help but wonder whether or not it was really taking advantage of her if it made her feel better? She took Kelly's hand from her cheek, bringing it up and kissing her palm then her wrist.
"I thought..." Kelly said confusedly as her skin began to tingle from the soft kisses Carrie left as she made her way up her arm, her body lowering down on top of her.
"I don't know," Carrie replied honestly, their faces now inches apart. She could see tears swimming in the other girl's eyes. "Shh, Kell, please don't cry. That's the last thing I want."
"I just don't know what to do anymore," she said, her voice cracking.
Carrie tugged Kelly's chin downward, their noses brushing together, "That's ok, you know? You don't always have to have the answers."
Kelly sniffed, bringing a hand up to wipe her eyes.
"Look, we'll go grab some pizza, watch a movie, just a completely stress free night. I think that would do both of us a lot of good, ok? I miss just hanging out with my buddy."
"Yea," Kelly nodded in agreement. "Care?"
"Yea?"
"You know how Dr. Lansing said that when this was over I was just going to forget about Alex and move on?"
"Kell, I told you not to listen to that. She's crazy."
"I know, it's just. What about us? What about all this? What's going to happen when this is over, and we go back to our normal lives? I really don't want to lose you as a friend."
"You're not going to," Carrie assured her.
