Gerard carried Maggie in his arms to the house. Her small arms wrapped around his neck, she was soundly asleep, and Jade walked in the house after him, and watched him head upstairs with her. Jade walked to the kitchen and dropped her bags. They stunk of chlorine. Exhausted she yawned and flicked on the coffee machine. Touching her lips she relieved that under water kiss in her mind, it was wonderful. Ragging her fingers through her messy hair she smiled, it was still damp. After swimming they had gone to a fun fair and then for dinner. Maggie was over come with excitement and eventually fell asleep after she insisted she would never sleep tonight.
Gerard walked into the kitchen and smiled at her, her hair was still damp, her face glowing. Jade smiled at him, “Coffee?
Shaking his head, he walked out, “No I think I should leave”
Jades gut dropped, “Why? Don’t leave not yet” Gerard turned round suddenly at the front door and faced her, pulling her into a hug, he kissed her cheek.
”Jade can I take you on a date tomorrow?”
”A date?” she laughed, “Where to?”
”A nice hotel Nice food, we can talk and then I’ll bring you home if you wish. I’m staying at the Claymont hotel. Can I pick you up at 6?”
”Yes, of course. Do you have to leave?” she asked, stroking his arm.
”I think so yes, I love you Jade” he whispered, kissing her softly on the forehead, he opened the door and walked back to his car. Jade stood and watched him, waving him goodbye she felt like crying. What had this come to; he should be here, in his home. Not staying in a hotel, even if it was a huge beautiful one. Closing the door she walked to the kitchen and turned off the coffee machine, chugging herself she walked upstairs to bed, butterflies dancing in her stomach for her date tomorrow night. Gerard gripped the wheel in his car and groaned, opening his pants to ease his growing excitement. Refusing to stay almost killed him, but he wanted to remind her he could be loving, so loving she would fall in love with him again, that was his plan anyway.

Jade and Maggie were eating breakfast the next day when Jake burst through the door, Maggie choked on a cornflake with shock and smiled up at him.
”Ok” he shouted, “A list of why you should take Gerard back. 1. He loves you completely and would never do you harms, 2. He is damn fine. 3. You aren’t about to do any better”
”Jake” Jade shouted. But he waved her away.
”4. You have a child and a house and a life together”
”Jake I have a date tonight!”
Jake stared at her then screwed his face up in anger, crumpling up his bit of paper he threw it at her, “You are a bad person Jade”
”With Gerard you idiot!” she laughed, “I want you to baby-sit for me tonight, is it possible you can stay over in case I don’t make it home!”
Jake picked up his list and stared at the rest of his excuses, throwing it to the floor he smiled, “Sure”.

Jade swayed in the mirror, looking at her dress. Jamie cullum was playing softly in the background, but she couldn’t hear him, she could hear Gerard singing along in the bath. Or in the car. Maybe in bed, he sang all the time. Sweet beautiful Gerard. Applying the last of her make up she looked about the empty room, devoid of life, without him.
”Mum you look nice”
Jade turned to face the door, Maggie stood in her pink pyjamas, smiling, “Are you going out with Daddy?”
”I sure am sweetie” Jade opened her arms for Maggie to run into, hugging her tightly she inhaled her daughters beautiful scent. “I promise I will fix this, and we can all be a family again.”
”No more tears?”
”No more tears honey. Daddy will come home, and we can all be happy together”
”Can nana come home?”
”That’s another story” Jade laughed, “We can go and see nana real soon honey”
Jake stood at the door and whistled in appreciation, “Girl you make me want a woman”. Jade smiled up at Jake, “Do I look alright?”
”Beautiful, truly beautiful. Doesn’t mummy look pretty Maggie?”
Maggie stared at her mother for a few seconds, “No, nasty necklace. I like the one with the gem”
Jade smiled and reached in her box, lifting out the necklace Gerard had bought her last Christmas. “Good choice sweetie” she smiled, unclasping her necklace and replacing it with the silver gem one. Looking at her watch it was 6pm, and Maggie ran to the window hearing a car pull up in the drive. “He’s here,” she yelled, taking the stairs two at a time to greet him. Jake hugged her. “It will be ok”
”I’m so nervous, god I hope this works out”
”Jade darling, you guys are one. You understand? There is no way it cant, now I don’t want to see you until tomorrow afternoon, go have a great night and lazy day. Me and Maggie are fine”
Jade kissed him “thank you”. Walking out she stepped down on one step and listened to Maggie chatting away.
”Mummy looks pretty for you”
”Mummy always looks pretty,” Gerard, laughed, holding her in his arms.
”Are you coming home soon daddy?” she whined, leaning her head on his shoulder, “I want you to read me bedtime stories again”
”I want to do that too” he smiled, kissing her, “Now you run to bed and behave while I take mummy out ok?”
”Ok” she laughed, running back up the stairs, she ran into Jades arms. “Night mummy”
”Night princess”
Gerard watched Jade walking down the stairs toward him and felt a surge of love, she was still as beautiful as the day he met her. Taking her arm he smiled, “You look incredible”
“Your not too bad yourself” she laughed, allowing him to open the car door for her.
Jake and Maggie waved them goodbye, “So Mags. You up for ice cream and trashy TV?”
”Yeah” she screamed. Jake laughed and closed the door, praying this night would end so many lonely ones for them both.

Jade sat opposite him, she couldn’t stop smiling. They were seated in the lobby waiting to go in for their dinner. This hotel was one of the finest she had ever seen, and could see why Gerard enjoyed staying here. Reaching out, she took his hand; he smiled at her and squeezed it. “Jade, are you ok?” he asked.
”Perfect, I’m amazed by this place”
”Yeah it’s really beautiful, like you”
”This feels like a first date” she giggled, looking behind him as a waiter approached them to tell Gerard his table was ready.
”Well I see it as a new start” he whispered, pulling her close as they walked into the restaurant. Gerard held her seat out for her, and bent over to kiss her shoulder as he pushed her back in. Seating himself opposite, he made a great show of placing his napkin across his lap. Jade laughed, and slipped her foot out of her shoe, entwining it with his. His eyes twinkled. “Right Jade, we are here because we have lots to talk about, lots to do?”
Jade nodded. “We need to fix what went wrong”
”No we have to choose a three course meal, that could take awhile..Ow get your foot away from there you vixen.. argh ok ok I’ll be serious. I cant bear spending another night away from you. ” He purred, reaching out and covering his hand with hers. Dinner was served, causing them to break apart, and talk while eating about everything they needed to get of their chests.
”Jade I know you must feel stuck here, and I wish I could do more, but as you know when I’m away I really am away. I mean its ok now, filming and interviews are taking place here, I can be there to ease your burden!”
”She isn’t a burden, anything but. I just miss what we had, I miss being able to fly out and surprise you, but I wouldn’t change my life for the world”
”When can she start school, not that she needs to she’s already smarter than most of the idiots in this world. You know what she whispered to me today?”
Jade chewed her food and stared at him.
”Before you came downstairs, she told me this was my chance to make it all better. What 2 year old has insight like that. I want to Jade I want this to be better. I want you back, I want to come home”
”She starts school when she is four, and yes I want all that too, I miss you so much.” Gerard stared at her and smiled; looking back down at his plate he put his fork to his last piece of steak, only to see an invading fork steal it.
”Jade” he shouted, “I was saving that”
”What’s yours is mine dear husband” Jade gulped down the rest of her wine and waited for him to finish his dinner. Gerard ate the last of his salad and grinned at her, reaching over to hold her hand again. “Do you want to go sit upstairs and have another drink?”
”Yes please” she spoke, keeping a tight hold of his hand.
Gerard nodded to the waiter and stood up; helping Jade out of her seat he walked her to the stairs and up to his room. Once there he yawned and threw off his jacket. Jade flicked off her shoes and walked to the balcony, staring out over the view. Predictably Gerard crept up behind her and hugged her close. “Can we be together again Jade?” he whispered, “I cant live without you”
Jade moaned and turned to face him, “We were never apart, not really” smiling she leant up and kissed him. A look of sadness swept across his face, “Can you love me again? After all this?”
”Gerard, I never stopped loving you, and I never will that’s the problem” she smiled, biting his bottom lip, “I cant go 5 minutes without singing your name”

Gerard kissed her, pushing her backwards onto the bed, he lay beside her kissing her harder and with more longing. Stroking his hand up and down her body, she pulled his tie from him, and undid his shirt.
”Wait, god this has been so long, I don’t want to rush it,” he groaned, kissing her neck.
”Gerard it has been too long, I’m dying for you” she cried, ripping his shirt down his chest. Gerard growled and pressed his body weight against her, fiddling with the zip of her dress, he finally pulled it down, and kissed the length of her body, pulling off her stockings with a flick of the hand, he smiled up at her. Slipping her knickers down, he rose up and kissed her face. Jade gasped as he thrust two fingers inside her, working her hard and fast, he held her still as she wriggled about in heaven.
”Gerard” she called out, only to have him claim her lips with his own, his other hand flew to his penis, undoing his trousers, there was no way of him being comfortable, these pants were hurting him. As Jade hit her climax, she lay there trembling. Gerard rose off the bed and stood up, pulling down his trousers; he climbed back upon her wearing his boxers.
”Are you ok?” he asked, seeing her face flushed and her deep breathing. Jade smiled up at him, “Its all coming back” she purred, rising up and pushing him backwards, kissing his neck and chest, she bit down on one of his nipples.
”Ow” he cried, “I haven’t missed that”
”You love it” she whispered, kissing down his body, tracing her fingers along the line of hair that grew from his stomach to his pubic line, she kissed the top of it. “I’ve missed this” she laughed stroking it.
Gerard giggled as she poked him, “What was it you called It?”
”My stairway to heaven” she grinned, her dimples showing to full effect, without warning she ripped down his boxer pants, releasing his erection. Jade took it in her hand and climbed up to kiss him as she caressed it, and worked it. Gerard closed his eyes in pleasure, “Always better when someone else does it” he laughed; Jade slapped him on the chest and laughed.
”Hey I’ve had a fine relationship with myself in your absence” he joked, stopping suddenly when a pleasure wave hit him, “mmmm” he growled, “I was always thinking of you”
Jade looked at him and shook her head, lowering herself, she took the end of him in her mouth. Gerard hissed with pleasure as she carried on, with her tongue aided him as well. Gripping on to the bedpost Gerard cried out as he came in her mouth, jade coughed and laughed, walking to the bathroom to spit it out. Gerard watched her, “Oh I see, don’t like me anymore do you?”
”I’m not ruining my tea,” she laughed, falling into his embrace, and claiming his mouth. They lay quietly, occasionally uttering a stupid noise to make the other laugh. Jade looked around the room, it was clear her had been living her the last few days, a small pile of washing was peeking out from behind the door. His aftershave and razors were in the bathroom along with his soap. What really made her heart ache was the tiny teddy bear she had given him years ago when he left for Japan, that was sitting beside the bed. Jade didn’t even know he still had it, reaching out she lifted it to them. Gerard smiled and took it from her; lifting it to his mouth he turned to face Jade.
”It smelt of you for a while, but now it just smells of my hand, and petrol. I dropped him”
Jade let out a high-pitched laugh, he looked so upset about it, she couldn’t help but hug him. “I’ll get you another one” Gerard smiled and placed his treasure on the side, turning his attention back to her. Jade lay back in joy as he kissed her neck, sending shivers up and down her spine. Gerard flicked her nipples with his tongue and she sighed with joy. Without warning he moved quickly and placed his mouth around her heat. Thrusting her with his tongue, he was licking and sucking carefully. Jade threw her hands up and gripped the bedpost. “Gerard” she cried out, feeling euphoria fly over her. Jade exploded and lay back in shock, releasing her grip on the bedposts; she smiled to herself and closed her eyes. When she opened them he was right there, his eyes catching the small amount of light in the room, they twinkled and she knew what was coming. Bracing her self he cried out in pain as he thrust into her. IT ad certainly been awhile and she had forgotten how big he was. Gerard stopped for a moment and held her, “Ok?” he growled, his voice husky and just how she loved it. Jade kissed him, “Pleasure me”. Throwing her arms around his neck, she tried to control her shouts of pleasure as he penetrated her. Creeping her arms up behind her head, she gripped the bed once more, and giggled as Gerard traced his hands up her arms and placed them around hers. Her fingers entwined in his, they moved as one, and brought each other to climax. Gerard collapsed on top of her. He was hot and gasping. Jade stroked his hair and kissed the top of his head.

Later they lay in the covers, drinking wine and water, and blushing. They were recounting the experiences in the many hotels they had had sex in over the last few years.
”I did not” Gerard laughed, holding his water carefully in case he spilt it as he was close to doing. Jade was lying on her side, supporting her head with her hand, and laughing hard.
”Yes you did, we went to see a film and you got so horny you took me to the nearest Hotel and begged the woman I we could use a room for an hour for the shower because we were going to a gig and needed to change our clothes.”
”I don’t remember that” he choked, lying back and chuckling.
”I remember what you did to me in there”
”Jade you are very coarse, I have never done anything to ..” Jade leaned over and whispered in his ear what he had done to her that day and his eyes grew wide.
”Well no wonder I don’t remember, I have probably blocked it from memory, oh lord. Its you, you bring out the worst in me” he smiled placing his glass on the side, he took Jades from her and put it next to hers. “But” he growled, “That sounds fucking fun”. Jade screamed as he grabbed her hips and pulled her to him.
”Gerard” she giggled, but soon her giggles were groans, they went on like that into the night.

Gerard opened one eye slowly, every part of him ached. Reaching over for Jade he blinked to find her up and throwing things in bags. “Jadey. What are you doing? Why does my pancreas ache?”
Jade walked over and sat beside him, “Well its safe to say we made up for what we missed these last few weeks. The pain will subside, I couldn’t even walk before”
”Bags. Why the bags?”
”You want to come home or not?” Jade asked, blushing slightly in case he didn’t.
Gerard smiled a lovely toothy grin at her and tried to sit up, “Owww groin pain” flopping back down he lay holding Jades hand, “Jade as a good wife you should massage me” he joked. Jade walked into the bathroom and re appeared with some oil.
”I was kidding,” Gerard laughed as she ripped the covers down him. Sitting herself on his penis, she squirted some oil on his chest and stroked her fingers along it. Massaging him slowly she saw his eyes close in peace, and moved her hands down. Gerard opened his eyes and watched as her hand flew to her heat, flipping her knickers to the side, she gripped his now erect penis and eased him into herself. Gerard’s eyes widened, “Oh I see, you cant have anything these days without giving something back” he laughed, sitting up to kiss her, before she shoved him back down and rode him.
An hour later they lay eating fruit, and contemplating life.
”Can you die from too much sex?” Gerard asked, nibbling on an apple.
”Well men get to a certain age where they cant have it anymore don’t they, woman can always have it. I’m working you, because one day you are going to break. Then you will be no use to me!”
”What about love, devotion, life to death and all that?”
Jade laughed and nibbled on a banana intentionally, Gerard blushed and looked away, “You will be the death of me I know that much” he said, lifting his arms as she snuggled into his chest. “What time do you have to go back?”
”Jake said have a lazy afternoon and that’s what I’m doing”
”Jade its 3 in the afternoon now”
”Well you took forever waking up”
”You wouldn’t let me rest until 5 this morning”
Jade looked up at him “Shall we go home then?”

Loading his pathetic few bags into the car, Jade sat beside him. Everything would be fine when they got back, Maggie would be overjoyed and they would be a family again. When they opened the door however they knew something was deeply wrong. For one the house was silent, and for two, Jake was sat looking absolutely terrified.
”Jake? Where’s Maggie?”
”Yeah, the baby. The little one, yeah she is in bed. Listen I think I broke her, I’ve been calling your mobile all day.”
Gerard ran up the stairs quickly, calling Maggie’s name.
”Look I noticed it last night and now she is covered. I took her the doctors this morning, and then he gave me this stuff” he pointed at the table which was covered in medicines, “It’s not too serious though. She just isn’t really herself.”
Gerard appeared in the doorway holding her. Jade looked at her daughter and burst out laughing; she was covered in red spots.
”Chicken pox” Gerard nodded.
”Its not funny” Maggie shouted at her mother, “Its itchy and they hurt, Jake wont let me touch them” Jade took Maggie into her arms and hugged her, “I know its not funny, I had them too. They will be gone soon. Jake you have had them haven’t you?”
”No I haven’t, hence me leaving now. Glad you guys are on track, byes Mags” he shouted, running from the house as fast as he could.
Jade shook her head and looked back to her daughter, Maggie looked so sorry for herself.
”Want some ice cream?” Jade asked, Maggie shook her head and buried it in her mothers shoulder. Gerard crouched down, “Want daddy to stay with you tonight?”
Maggie looked up and nodded, Gerard smiled and kissed her cheek. “Done”
”Can I go and watch TV mum?” Maggie asked. “Jake made me stay in bed, and it was dull because Daddy isn’t talking to me, he doesn’t want to get spots”
”Gerard will you make a bed for Maggie on the sofa please?”
”Sure” he winked, walking to her room. Looking about he found the Marek dolly on the floor and smiled, looking around he found a red felt tip, knowing from the past they if you drew on the doll you could wash it of he covered its face in a series of little dots. Then he did his arms and his legs. Smiling proudly at his work, he grabbed Maggie’s duvets, her teddy bear, some colouring books and her pillows. Running back downstairs he placed them all around her and held Marek behind his back. Jade was in the kitchen reading through the different medicines and fixing Maggie a warm drink of milk when she heard Maggie scream. Fearing the worst she ran through to see Maggie holding the doll in amazement.
”Mum daddies ill, look”
Jade looked at Gerard then realised she was talking about the doll, staring at it she smiled. Gerard had to have done it.
”Well you had better get him in bed with you then hadn’t you?” she smiled at her daughter, “Quick, you both need to get better” pressing play on the video, Jade and Gerard left Maggie watching ‘The little mermaid’.
Jade poured some milk into a cup and gave it to Gerard who took it through to Maggie. Walking back he smiled, and hugged her from behind, kissing her shoulder softly.
”I have to leave in 2 days Jade,” he whispered, “What do I do? I can’t leave you both.”
Jade spun round to face him, “We shall move to Hollywood and live there with you. It will be hassle with her in her condition, but there’s no choice. She wont settle now she knows your back, and I wont either” she grinned, hugging him close. “Now lets go and sing along with Ariel”
”God I hate Disney” Gerard whined, following Jade through, they both cuddled close on the sofa, keeping wary eyes on their poorly child, who was still smiling at her ill doll, and insisting it wasn’t her fault he was ill. Gerard smiled and kissed Jades cheek, he wouldn’t change his life for the world.
