Orlando had met up with Elijah at the hotel, just as Brie was leaving to join Liz for lunch. When he had called earlier to get Liz’ number Elijah had been ecstatic, most likely because he now had a reason to tease Orlando mercilessly. This was not something Orlando looked forward to, but it was a typical Elijah reaction, and Orlando knew it was all in good fun. But Elijah had the ability to drive anyone batty when he had something on someone.
Well, the plan was just to keep Elijah away from sugar, because Elijah on a sugar high was a sure way of ensuring one’s loss of sanity.
The guys had planned on just hanging out at Elijah’s hotel. They really just wanted to catch up. Sure they had talked the night before, but really a club was not the ideal place for conversation. Elijah had suggested that they meet up with the girls later on.
Orlando had only just knocked on the door to Elijah’s room before the door flew open and he had an armful of insane hobbit.
“Orli’s in lurve!” Elijah cooed batting his eyelashes while making his eyes impossibly big.
Orlando couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m not it love, twit!” He moved into the room and closed the door behind him, “I barely know the girl!”
Elijah sat plopped down on one of the beds,
“But you want her right?” He waggled his eyebrows.
Orlando sighed. Did he want her? Yes, but it wasn’t just a physical attraction. The night before, when he had arrived at his home, he had not only been thinking about the way she moved on the dance floor, although that had been a major cause to his restlessness, he had also been replaying every conversation they’d had, and he found himself longing for the next time he would be speaking to her. There was something about the way she said things, so direct and yet every time she had answered a question, no doubt honestly, there was something hidden in the depth of her eyes. Basically she was still an enigma, and he’d be damned if he didn’t figurr our out!
“Yes, I do want her” Orlando replied.
Elijah had a feeling there was more to it than that,
“But not just for sex.” He stated, “You want something more.”
“I do, but I just don’t know what.” Orlando looked confusedly at Elijah, “I mean, I don’t know her well enough to want a relationship with her, but then there’s this feeling that tells me that I should get to know her, that I’ll regret it if I don’t.
“I just don’t know if I should…put the moves on her, as you would put it, or if I should just go for friendship.”
Elijah contemplated what Orlando had just told him,
“You’re attracted to her, that much is obvious, and clearly she’s attracted to you as well, if what you told me over the phone is anything to go by. So why don’t you just ask her out and take it from there?”
“That’s what I was planning to do, but when I asked for her phone number, she told me to get it from you guys. For some reason I think she didn’t really want me to have it though.” Orlando said.
“Well, that may be true, but on some level she must have wanted you to have it anyway, or she would have just told you no, right?” Elijah supplied.
“Maybe…”
“So maybe you should ask her out, and just take it slowly with her. Maybe she just needs to get to know you better and all of this will work itself out. Give it time, my friend, and the truth shall reveal itself!” The last was said with Elijah’s poor attempt at sounding like Gandalf, or maybe it was Yoda, Orlando wasn’t really sure which, but it made him laugh.
“I cannot believe I getting advice from a hobbit!” He exclaimed while chuckling.
“Hey! Hobbits are very wise, contrary to popular belief!” Elijah said indignantly.
“Sure!” was the sarcastic response.
They laughed for a minute before the conversation turned on to less confusing topics.

After lunch Brie and Liz decided to go shopping, however Liz was having trouble concentrating on all the stuff Brie was showing her. Her thoughts kept returning to the conversation they’d had at the restaurant.
She wasn’t regretting her decision to give Orlando a chance, but she was rather nervous about the whole thing. She didn’t know what he was expecting from her. Did he just want to get to know her? Or was he more interested in getting her into bed. The first thing, she could probably do, but if he wanted a relationship, she wasn’t so sure. The whole one night stand thing, well that just wasn’t her deal.
Liz wasn’t exactly experienced in relationships and dating. She was 25 years old and she had only been on a handful of dates and she’d only ever been in one relationship, which ended when she found out that her boyfriend hadn’t exactly been faithful.
She’d always been very distrustful of men and the experience with her ex had only served to make her even more distrustful. And now she had agreed to give a guy, who lived in a world made up of temptations, a chance. Why did she agree to this again?
“Are you even listening to me?”
Liz’ thoughts were interrupted by Brie, who had apparently been trying to get her attention for a while.
“Sorry?” Liz asked.
“You were thinking about Orlando weren’t you?” Brie laughed.
“You could say that…” Liz mumbled.
“Well, you’ll get a chance to see him again soon enough!” Brie said with a smirk.
“What do you mean?” Liz’ heart already felt like it was about to pop out of her chest. She couldn’t see him now! She needed more time to process things in her head first.
“Elijah just called on my cell. He asked if we wanted to meet them at a pub just down the street, for a drink!” Brie explained.
“Oh…and you said yes?” Liz asked.
“Of course I did!” Brie laughed.
“Of course you did…” Liz mumbled again.
Brie noticed Liz looked a little uncomfortable.
“It’ll be alright Liz,” she said, “It’s just for a quick drink. Besides, you don’t have anything to worry about with Orlando. Like I told you, he’s a good guy!”
“Right! Of course! No need to worry!” Liz said, “And you’ll be there right?” She couldn’t help but giggle. Brie was right, she dt hat have to worry, it’s not like they were going to get drunk and she’d end up making out with him again. It was just a drink, nothing more.
“Exactly! So are you done? Or do you need to buy more stuff?” Brie asked smiling.
“Oh no! No more shopping for me! I already spent to much money!” Liz giggled.
“Ok, so I’ll just go pay for this, and then we can go.”
Liz nodded and followed Brie to the register. Brie paid for the dress she’d found and soon they where walking down the street toward the pub. The nearer they got to their destination, the more butterflies Liz felt fluttering about in her stomach.
When they finally reached the pub, Liz was half expecting she would faint. It really wasn’t like her to be so nervous, but something about Orlando really got to her, to the point where even the thought of seeing him made her break out in a cold sweat. Maybe it was because he was famous? But then, that wouldn’t make any sense. She had met and talked to quite a few celebrities because of her job as a manager, and some of them were even more famous than Orlando, besides, Elijah didn’t make her nervous, so that couldn’t be it. Fortunately Liz was good at hiding when she was nervous.
They made their way inside the pub and found the guys sitting at a table at the back.
Elijah and Orlando rose, when the girls approached and gave them each a kiss on the cheek in greeting.
“Do you want anything to drink?” Orlando asked as the girls took a seat.
“I’ll have a Sprite please.” Liz said, smiling at him. Brie ordered the same.
Orlando smiled and winked at Liz, causing the butterflies in her stomach to run amok, before going to get a drink.

When he came back, Brie was busy showing Elijah some of her purchases and Liz was just watching, sometimes making small comments whenever she had something to add.
“So “So did you buy anything?” Orlando asked, passing her the soda.
“Thanks!” she said taking a sip of the drink, “Yeah, I bought a couple of tops and a pair of earrings.”
Orlando smiled and noticed the earrings she was wearing.
“Are they the ones you’re wearing now?” he asked leaning in to look more closely at them.
Liz felt her heart move up into her throat. He was way to close for comfort right now.
“Um…yeah.” She said, her voice sounding a little bit too breathy in her opinion.
Orlando smiled even wider at her breathy answer, knowing now that she wasn’t totally unaffected by him.
“I like them!” He said, before leaning back in his chair.
Liz breathed a sigh of relief as he moved away again, before thanking him for the compliment. She focused her attention back to the conversation Brie and Elijah were having and laughed when Elijah told them about a brush with some rather eager fans.
“So do you have any plans for dinner?” Orlando suddenly asked.
“Who? Me?” Liz asked taken completely by surprise. They had been talking about something that had absolutely nothing to do with dinner or food, and all of a sudden he just asks, just like that.
“Yeah, you!” Orlando laughed, “So do you?”
Liz couldn’t help but smile. She had started relaxing a little as the conversation wore on, and she actually found Orlando quite charming.
“Well, I had planned on just having leftovers from yesterday.” She answered.
“That doesn’t soveryvery interesting!” Orlando said wrinkling his nose.
“No, it doesn’t, does it?” Liz laughed.
“Ok, so how about we go to my house, you, me, Elijah and Brie, and we order some take-out and maybe watch a movie or something?” He asked.
“Um…sure, if it’s alright with Brie and Elijah.” She said looking at them.
“Yeah! That sounds great!” Elijah said nodding. Brie smiled showing that she agreed.
See!See!” Orlando said, “No reason to be scared! They’ll be there too!”
Liz almost chocked on her soda as he said that. She was beginning to wonder if she was really that transparent, thinking he really had her figured out, but when she looked at him she could see he was only joking.
“Great!” She said, before finding a cigarette in her purse. She really needed it right now.
They finished of their drinks and took a taxi back to Orlando’s place.
