Miyabi felt an insisting poking on his side. He shrugged it off and shifted sides, but the insisting poking continued, now followed by a voice that sounded very much like Sakito’s.
“Oi! Miyabi wake up! You’ll be late for school, and I'll be late for work! Get up!”
Miyabi opened one eye, figuring out if Sakito was indeed there or if he was still dreaming. He jerked up wide awake when he found out it was true after all and curled himself like a kitty around Sakito’s neck nuzzling him. Sakito held and petted Miyabi, loving the way he felt in his arms. Miyabi licked Sakito’s neck, and he jolted up causing Miyabi to giggle.
“When are you going to get used to me Saki-chan?”
Not waiting for an answer Miyabi pressed his lips on Sakito’s unprepared ones. After the astonishment left Sakito, he placed his arms around Miyabi pulling him closer for a deeper kiss. It was always like that for them, Sakito would always be surprised of Miyabi’s actions, but once he overcame that he would be very amorous towards his loving mate. However, to Miyabi’s discontent, it never went beyond kisses and touches.
“Next time Saki-chan, we’re definitely having sex”
“Why do you insist on rushing things?”
“Rushing? We’ve been seeing each other for months!”
Sakito sighed and kissed Miyabi. //Why won’t you understand?//
“Don’t you want me enough? Don’t you love me?”
“Of course I do Miyabi! I want you more than anything, you know I love you!”
“Then why being so hesitant?”
“You’re still in high school, and I work for your brother. You know this, I’ve told you countless times!”
“Working for my brother means working for me, it was dad’s company, now it belongs to us”
“When you work there you can order me around all you want”
Sakito winked at Miyabi and his face lightened up. Miyabi then smirked sexily as plenty of hentai ideas swirled through his mind.
“But only then, until that happens you’ll have to be content with just kissing”
Miyabi pouted, but he nodded in agreement. They kissed again sealing this pact.
“Now get up, you’ll be late for school”
“Hai hai!”
Miyabi stretched like a cat and dragged himself out of bed. He walked to his clothes deciding what to wear.
“By the way, there was some loud talking outside a little while ago”
“Loud talking?”
“Yes, as if someone was having an argument”
Miyabi stopped altogether what he was doing. He knew something was wrong. He didn't know what or why, but Sakito’s words felt like a bucket of cold water thrown over him.
“Was Totchi involved?”
“Possibly, I couldn’t tell what they were saying, they woke me up”
Miyabi ran out the door towards his brother’s room. He was hoping he’d get scolded for running in the house, and then he’d smile cutely and apologize and earn a hug from his big brother. That way at least he would know there was nothing wrong, but deep inside he knew this time he would not get that hug.
Sakito was a bit surprised when Miyabi left everything and ran out, but it was something Miyabi would do. He is very close to his brother. Sakito sighed, hoping he was wrong, and nothing had really happened.
Miyabi reached his brother’s room in no time, however he found it empty. He ran back out and downstairs, but his brother was nowhere to be found. He began to panic. Sakito got worried seeing how Miyabi was reacting. He went downstairs and held him.
“I’ll help you look Miya-chan, he can’t be gone”
Miyabi nodded, panic not letting him says anything. He thanked all his guardian angels he had Sakito there; else he wouldn’t know what to do.
“I’ll look downstairs, you go upstairs, ok?”
Miyabi nodded again and Sakito took this chance to kiss his younger lover. Miyabi clung to Sakito’s neck while he traced patterns along Miyabi’s spine. Reluctantly they separated to look for Toshiya. Sakito disappeared through the library door leaving Miyabi alone at the parlor. He looked at the long stairs feeling out trying to find out if his brother was upstairs. He closed his eyes and walked, letting his instinct take him. Miyabi felt the stairs and cautiously climbed them, not wanting to open his eyes and lose his brother’s feeling. Upstairs he turned to the left, but the feeling was weaker to that direction so he turned to the right. He took a few steps, passed one door, the feeling growing stronger. Next to the second door his feeling grew the strongest yet. He was getting excited, finally being able to find his brother, he accelerated his pace, but that made the feeling go weaker. Miyabi turned back, and it was there again. He opened his eyes and found himself in front of the bathroom door, which was the second door. //Is this where you’ve been Totchi?//
Miyabi opened the bathroom door. He was going to rush through, but thought better and decided to walk in cautiously. Once inside he could hear small sobs, and he felt his body tense when he saw his dear brother sitting on the floor hugging his knees to his chest between the toilet and the bathtub. There were tear marks down his cheeks, and his robe had wet stains, but Toshiya wasn’t crying anymore.
Slowly Miyabi approached his brother. He didn’t know what to think or do, for he didn't know what could have possibly affected his brother this much. Toshiya didn’t notice Miyabi. He ignored him completely and simply stared at the wall. On impulse Miyabi kneeled beside his brother and hugged him. Toshiya didn’t react at first, but Miyabi held on until his brother shifted finally breaking out of his spell. He looked at Miyabi with his bloodshot eyes; Miyabi had to control himself to be strong for Toshiya.
“Mi-chan...I did something really stupid...”
The second those words left Toshiya’s lips he started crying. Miyabi held him closer, waiting for his brother to regain some composure before asking what was wrong. It took Toshiya a while, but he finally stopped crying, only sobbing lightly now. Miyabi didn’t need words to let know his brother he was there to listen to whatever was bothering him. He was going through the previous night’s events, and little by little he was guessing what had happened, yet something didn’t seem right. They had both looked so happy last night.
“I pushed Kaoru away, the worst way I could have... but it was for the best”
//Ah, so that’s his name...Kaoru//
“It doesn’t seem to be for the best to me if you’re in this state”
“I don’t know Mi-chan... It’s all so confusing. I think it’s for the best, but I don’t feel like it. It’s as if my brain and my heart are in this huge battle and I don’t know which one to follow!”
“Do you really like Kaoru? I know he’s hot, but do you like him more?”
“I don’t know. I’m so confused Miyabi. I think I do”
“Then what’s the matter? Did he do something?”
“He didn’t do anything. But we can’t be together”
Everything was starting to become clear to Miyabi now. He thought it had been a bit bold of Toshiya to take Kaoru in last night like that, but he seemed nice and Toshiya was happy, so he didn’t care. Miyabi hugged his brother. He knew Toshiya would do the right thing, he always does, but how to make him trust in his own judgment?
“Toshiya remember when mom and dad were killed?”
“Yes”
“Remember the state we were in? How devastated I was that I didn’t want to eat, or do anything?”
“Of course I do, I had to force feed you in fear of losing you too!”
“Remember when you found out dad’s company was broke?”
“Yes”
Toshiya closed his eyes, pulling out all those memories. Some were too sad, he had to hold his tears from remembering them. He didn’t know where Miyabi was going making him remember them all, but he did so anyway.
“You always did what was right in those occasions. You pulled through because you are strong. I love you and trust you, I know you’ll do the right thing”
“Miyabi...”
Toshiya hugged his brother, burying his face in Miyabi’s chest. //Am I really that strong? I can’t see it, where is my strength now? Kaoru…//
“Come on, let’s get you dressed and go out. You’ll think about it during the day, it’s no point going over it now. Give it time, you’ll know what to do”
Sakito stood outside the door listening to everything going on inside, but thought it was best to leave the two brothers alone for this matter. He smiled at how much Miyabi had grown.
Miyabi guided Toshiya out of the bathroom to his bedroom. He smiled at Sakito when he saw him standing by the door. He left Toshiya in the room and turned to Sakito.
“Saki-chan, could you please get the car ready?”
“Miyabi, I know Toshiya needs someone right now, but you have school”
“Don’t mind that. My brother needs me now. Please Sakito, do this for me”
Sakito sighed. He knew talking Miyabi out of this wouldn’t work, but he thought he had to mention school at least.
“Alright, but make sure you find what they give today and be responsible about it”
“I will”
Sakito left them to get the car. Miyabi went back to his brother to find him by the bed staring at it. He approached his brother concerned.
“What is it Totchi?”
Toshiya didn’t look up, tears were visible at the rim of his eyes, and it was obvious he was doing his best to keep them in. Toshiya only stood there pointing at something on the bed. Miyabi followed to where he was pointing. He saw a piece of paper there. //What could that be?// Miyabi leaned to pick up the paper, but Toshiya jumped in stopping him.
“What?!”
“Don’t touch it!”
Toshiya went back to silently stare at the paper.
“What is it?”
“The proof of my stupidity”
Miyabi was more confused than ever, but he let it pass. Obviously Toshiya didn’t want him touching it, as if it were something sacred. He decided to ask again later about it.
“Come on Totchi, let’s get you dressed”
Miyabi struggled a little with Toshiya who simply wanted to stay staring at the sacred piece of paper. Reluctantly he left it and allowed Miyabi to dress him, since he was in no mood to do it himself.
~o~o~o~
After a whole day of shopping with Miyabi, a few movies and a good night sleep in bed together like old times Toshiya wasn't exactly alright, but he was good enough to go back to work. He already felt terrible for missing one day of work. As the owner of the largest physics research center in the country he has many responsibilities to take care of daily.
The minute Toshiya stepped into his office his assistant bombarded him with appointments for the day, phone messages, important information just received and everything else his large schedule book could fit in. Toshiya could feel a headache brewing up in his temples. He was tired and drowsy and his assistant didn’t even let him reach his desk. He wasn’t yet ready for this.
The assistant babbled on and on about all the things in schedule for Toshiya, oblivious that he was being totally ignored. Then he said something that called Toshiya’s full attention.
“.... and this is the document for this year’s scholarship winner Niikura Kaoru. Who will you be sending to give the award?”
“What did you just say?”
Toshiya, who had been with his eyes closed and his hands on his temples, was now wide awake staring at his assistant, waiting for an answer as if his life depended on it.
“Who will you be sending to the ceremony?”
“No before that!”
“Ah, this year’s scholarship winner, Niikura Kaoru, this is his 3rd year winning it, such an excellent student. There were rumors that his research was outstanding, some of our researchers wanted him to work with us, but he hasn’t decided yet”
Toshiya was speechless. Niikura Kaoru. It must be the same Kaoru he just felt it!
“Please find me the file of this Niikura Kaoru, I want it on my desk in 5 minutes. Put every other matter aside, I’ll take care of them later. And I want to talk to the researchers who want to work with him”
“Yes sir”
Toshiya was still grinning madly when his assistant walked back into the office carrying a large file. He smiled sweetly while taking the file from his assistant’s hands, not waiting for him to put it on the desk.
“I’ll go find the researchers now”
“Yes please”
Toshiya practically bounced to his desk with file in hand. He didn’t even wait to get there to open it. He just had to confirm if this indeed was the same Kaoru he knows...his Kaoru. He opened the file and there it was, staring back at him a picture of his Kaoru. Toshiya felt his heart skip a beat and then go faster. He sat down and before the researchers had arrived he had already read 3 years worth of collecting data, essays and interviews of Kaoru. It was finding out a whole different aspect of someone who had somehow attached himself firmly to his heart. He felt a bit sad, for he realized up until now he didn’t really know much about Kaoru, except he is hot and sexy, dances quite well, strips even better, and is very good in bed.
Toshiya found out Kaoru had been living on his own with no support from his family at all for the past 6 years. He was amazed at Kaoru’s perseverance, graduating with honors from both bachelor’s and master’s degree, and now doing exceptionally well in his doctor’s degree. He read in the form that Kaoru currently has two jobs, one in the university that must be his research, and another as a retailer in a department store. //And of course another one as a stripper, can’t blame him for not informing that little job. Must be so hard working and studying//
The door opened, and the assistant announced the researchers Toshiya was expecting. He was a bit surprised to find Midori-san was one of them. //I wonder if he knows// There were three in total.
“Thank you for halting your work for a while to come here with such short notice. Please take a seat”
They all nodded and took seats on the meeting table on the right side of the office. Toshiya sat at the head of the table, Midori-san to his right, another scientist, Taeda-san, sat to his left and the last one, Mori-san, next to Midori-san. Toshiya didn’t know how to go about this meeting. He wanted to know everything about Kaoru’s research and their opinion about him, but he didn’t want to seem too eager about it, didn’t want to raise suspicion, especially from Midori-san. He decided a direct approach would be the best.
“I’ve been informed Niikura Kaoru has won this company’s college scholarship for three years in a row, what can you tell me about him? About his research, his goals and ambitions, anything at all. Also, your personal opinions about him would be appreciated”
“Are you thinking of employing him?”
Mori-san seemed hopeful as he asked this.
“Perhaps, that’s why your opinions are so important”
The first to speak was Taeda-san. Toshiya sat silently waiting for them to explain.
“His research is very interesting. Niikura-san is a very competent student, I’ve had the pleasure of discussing aspects of his research with him, and a few other things”
“Me too. Niikura-san is very bright, as well as polite. I’d love to work with him, his ideas are fresh and innovating.”
Mori-san seemed over cheerful to add his comment. It’s as if he had been waiting for years for someone to ask him about Kaoru. The last to speak was Midori-san, and Toshiya was very eager to know his opinion.
“I haven’t met him personally, but I’ve read his project proposal, and his essay for when he won the National Physics Award. I also read his undergraduate project. That too was at a superior level”
Every word said about Kaoru made Toshiya both very happy and extremely miserable. The more praises Kaoru received, the more he realized how wrong he had been, the more he regretted his actions. They spoke of the man he had insulted and humiliated as the brightest and most perfect person in the world. They gave him their full support and trust, when Toshiya had given him nothing but rejection.
The scientists noticed the lack of response from their boss and worried. They thought perhaps they had said something wrong. Little did they know they said nothing wrong, but the truth in their words only pierced Toshiya’s heart.
“Is everything alright Hara-san? Did we say something out of place?”
Toshiya blinked several times, his mind had been lost in his thoughts and he hadn’t realized the men staring at him waiting for an answer. He looked at Taeda-san, who was still waiting for an answer to his question.
“Ah, yes, everything is alright. No, you’ve said nothing wrong. Would you say that you trust this young man to work for this company?”
Toshiya held his breath as he asked this. He knew the answer to it before it was answered, but he felt the need to ask it anyway. Taeda-san answered first.
“We understand you are very rigorous about who works for this company, and knowing the history of this place it’s the best choice. Yes, I’d give my full trust to this young scientist to work for this company”
“So do I”
“He has proven himself worthy of this company for three years, I think it would be reasonable to employ him after he graduates”
Best choice…full trust…worthy… These were the only words that Toshiya heard, and they repeated over and over in his mind like an everlasting choir chanting his wrong deeds. Tears fell freely down Toshiya’s cheeks. He didn’t care he was in front of his best scientists; in fact he didn’t even notice they were there anymore. All he thought about was Kaoru, the check left sitting on his bed, and now this. He wanted to scream, to run out of the room and find Kaoru wherever he was, hold him and tell him he had been wrong. //That’s stupid; he’ll never want to see me again. Why would he? I’ve hurt him the worst way I could have. But I have to see him! I have to talk to him!//
The scientists were beginning to feel out of place in the big office. Their boss had started crying for no apparent reason, and they had no idea what they were supposed to do in a situation like this.
“Would that be all sir?”
Taeda-san was very concerned about his boss. Toshiya looked up at them with teary eyes. He wiped the tears from his face and gave them a watery smile.
“Yes. Thank you for your time”
Toshiya accompanied the men out of his office. On the way out Midori-san patted his back and gave him a warm smile.
“If I can help you with anything don’t hesitate to ask”
“Thanks Midori-san, but this I must do on my own”
“Alright. Smile young man, tears do not suit your fair face”
Toshiya was about to turn back into his office when he noticed Shinya rushing towards him. He didn’t want to see Shinya right now. He just wanted to go back into his misery alone in the office, but knowing Shinya he would not allow that.
“Toshiya! May I have a word with you?”
Toshiya nodded and stepped aside to allow Shinya into his office. Shinya looked distressed. He was holding a file and a few papers in his arms. Toshiya paid this no notice, he only wanted to know what is it Shinya wanted and then have him leave. Toshiya sat on his chair by the desk. Shinya stood in front of the desk, too distressed to sit down.
“Toshiya, I was working on this month’s financial report and noticed something quite interesting with the scholarship. I think you should know this”
“I know Shinya, just found out this morning”
Toshiya had his hands on his temples again, his headache now taking full force. Shinya shifted his weight from foot to foot not knowing what to say, now that Toshiya already knew.
“I see…well, I still think it’s sudden, and it would be for the best if you stay away from him. He might be a good student and all, but he’s still a stripper, and he does have economical problems, it might…”
“That’s enough Shinya”
Shinya gulped, Toshiya had never before been this stern with him before.
“Totchi, I’m just trying to make you understand the implications of this choice. You’re probably thinking of employing him too, right?”
“Shinya, why can’t you be happy for me? Why can’t you trust me like everyone else does?”
Toshiya’s hands were back on his temples as he tried to convince his cousin. His headache was now becoming massive for he saw no end to Shinya’s ranting.
“If he proves worthy of my trust and of you then I’ll be happy for you”
Shinya dropped his files on the desk planting both hands firmly on it as he said this. His eyes burned with a passion only equaled by Toshiya’s opposed one.
“It’s not to you whom Kaoru has to prove himself Shinya, it’s to me!”
Toshiya had to restrain himself from screaming at his cousin. His blood pressure pounding on his temples along with his rage were blurring his vision. He knew Shinya only wanted what’s best for him, but there were limits to things, and Shinya had reached his.
“Totchi, you’re blinded by the thrill of the moment, you’ve been lonely for too long, and I admit he’s very good looking, but you have to stop and think”
“What is there to think? I like him, he likes me”
“There is much more than that in a relationship, you should know that. Are you willing to give everything up for what could have been just one night of fun? Is it worth it? Who knows with how many others he has done the same thing?!”
“I don’t think so Shinya. We were happy together, you just can’t fake that!”
“Alright, but you’re thinking of employing him, are you sure you want to hold a relationship with one of your researchers?”
“You have a relationship with Die and you work together, why can’t I be with Kaoru?”
Shinya’s whole body tensed. He stepped back from the desk trying to find a way to make his cousin understand that his situation was entirely different.
“It’s not the same thing Totchi. You are the owner; I’m just the financial director”
“It’s exactly the same thing! You flirt with him all the time you think I don’t know? This report was due last week, but you’ve been too busy planning your wedding with Die!”
Shinya went pale and silent for a while. Toshiya’s words were too close to the truth. It’s true he had been neglecting his job a little these past few days, but it’s not something he always does, and he wasn’t too happy about it. He then recovered his color, ready to strike back.
“That’s what I don’t want to happen with you and him. If you start flirting with him instead of work this company will go to ruin”
“That’s the best excuse you could come up with Shinya? You disappoint me”
“It’s not an excuse Toshiya, it’s the truth!”
“Shinya that’s enough! You’re my cousin and I won’t tell you half the things that are going through my mind right now as I should, but please stop it!”
“Toshiya!”
“Die is happy for me, why can’t you be?”
Shinya took a deep breath, taking his time to answer the question. Toshiya looked straight into his eyes demanding an answer. Finally Shinya released the breath he had kept in and answered, but his tone had drastically changed to a sorrowful one.
“Because I saw you suffer your parents’ death; I know how much you worked to bring this company back to what it was. I’ve been here for you, I even studied to work here and help you! I’m too worried for you!”
“Don’t be, I can take care of myself now”
Toshiya hugged his cousin tight. He wasn’t angry at his cousin anymore, and the pounding in his temples had ceased, although the headache was still there. Shinya returned the embrace burying his face in Toshiya’s chest.
“Just root for me Shinya and have faith that everything will work out fine. As it is now I need all the help I can get”
“It’s my fault, isn’t it?”
“No Shinya, it’s my fault. I should have listened to my heart instead of my brain”
“I’m sorry Totchi! Had I not said anything this wouldn’t have happened, and now I’m just making it worse! I just don’t want you to get hurt!”
“I know Shinya, but you ended hurting me more”
“I’m sorry”
“It’s not me who you have to apologize to Shin-chin”
Shinya’s eyes grew wide. He knew what Toshiya meant and he didn’t like it one bit.
“Why do I have to apologize to him?”
“You don’t have to, I do. But it was Kaoru who you talked bad about without knowing the truth”
“He is a stripper!”
“Shinya you’re hopeless”
“But, but…”
“Do whatever you like. One thing though, promise me you’ll treat him right if I manage to settle this mess”
Shinya seemed doubtful, but Toshiya wasn’t going to take no for an answer.
“Alright”
Toshiya smiled and hugged him. Shinya was astounded, still not liking much the idea of his Toshiya with this Kaoru, but his cousin’s relief at his acceptance and happiness were enough to calm him.
“Thank you”
~o~o~o~
Kyo knocked on Kaoru’s apartment door. He was balancing two bags of take out food, a six pack of Kaoru’s favorite beer and some notes Kaoru had asked him to bring. He knocked again since Kaoru didn’t answer, this time louder.
It had been three days since Kyo had drove Kaoru from Toshiya’s house. Kaoru had acted rather normal about it, at least on the outside. However Kyo knew it was just that, an act. Kaoru concentrated extra hard on his studies and research, burying himself with work not giving himself any time to think of his bleeding heart. This also lead to Kaoru skipping meals and sleep, since any time he was off work meant he’d start thinking and feeling things he didn’t want to think about even less feel.
Kyo was getting worried. He didn’t know exactly what had happened, but by Kaoru’s behavior he knew it couldn’t have been good. He had tried calling Kaoru before, but he never answered. Therefore when Kaoru called him to ask for some notes he was more than glad to use it as an excuse to visit Kaoru and check up on him.
Kyo knocked again getting anxious. //What is taking him so long? Maybe he fainted from being too tired or hungry. Hurry up Kaoru, or I’ll gnaw my way in! You’re driving me crazy out here!//
As Kyo was losing his patience a very tired Kaoru with dark circles around his eyes opened the door. Kyo jumped in, not leaving Kaoru any chance for an excuse to not let him in.
Inside the apartment looked a mess. There were papers everywhere, a pillow and a blanket were thrown on a corner as if it had been used and abandoned there. Empty beer cans and glasses halfway emptied of many different liquids laid everywhere. Kyo cleared some space on the table and placed his food and drinks. He gave his notes to Kaoru, not daring to place them anywhere might they be lost. Kaoru secured them into his personal papers.
“Sorry for the mess. I wasn’t expecting anyone”
“What am I a spot on the rug?”
“I thought you’d just give me your notes and leave, didn’t expect you to come in”
Kaoru was trying his best to act normal in front of Kyo, but it was useless. Kyo noticed the sadness in his speech and movements.
“And leave you to starve Kaoru?”
“I have food”
“What good does it do in your fridge?”
“I won’t starve”
“That’s not how it looks like Kaoru. Maybe you don’t realize it, but you’re not eating or sleeping well”
“I slept”
Kaoru turned around trying to look as if he was sure of himself when in fact he just couldn’t face Kyo anymore. Kyo pulled him, determined to make Kaoru see his current situation.
“On the floor by that corner? And just because you fell asleep as you tried to force yourself to work?”
“I’m alright Kyo, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m just busy”
Kaoru’s face betrayed him. His weariness and deep hidden pain could be easily seen behind the mask he was trying so hard to keep up.
“You’ve always been busy Kaoru, but never like this! I know you, and I know there is something wrong!”
“There is nothing wrong. If that is all please leave, I have lots of work to do”
“I’m not leaving until I see that you have eaten something!”
“Fine, whatever!”
With that Kaoru sat on a chair by the table and pulled out the take out food Kyo had brought. Kyo sat by him trying to hide his grin. He pulled out some food and opened one of the beer cans. He watched as Kaoru devoured his meal. //He must have been so hungry! Stop being so proud and tell me what’s wrong!//
“Ne Kaoru, did you receive word from your scholarship?”
Kyo knew it was Toshiya who actually paid for those scholarships, but he didn’t dare tell Kaoru that. In the past he had failed to mention that the company he worked for was the same that was paying for his tuition. Kyo had no idea that Toshiya and Shinya had just realized this as well, but he felt he had to make sure Kaoru assisted to his accepting ceremony. He had never missed it in the past, but due to Kaoru’s current situation he could try to persuade them to give the money to him and skip the ceremony. Kyo couldn’t have that! He didn’t know what had happened, but he felt it would be undone in that ceremony.
“Yes, I won it again”
“You don’t seem so happy about it”
//Maybe he noticed it was Toshiya’s research company the one giving it to him! Please don’t let it be so, it would ruin everything!//
“They insist that I have to go to this stupid ceremony we do every year! Why can’t they see I’m too busy to waste my time in something trivial like that?!”
//So he hasn’t noticed! That’s a relief! Knew it, you are so stubborn, I knew you’d try to get out of the ceremony!//
“Kaoru it’s important that you attend that ceremony”
“Why? It’s the same one as last year and the year before that! The owner won’t even go, why do I have to?”
“The owner is a very busy person Kaoru, he has people he delegates these things to”
Kyo felt he had to make up for Toshiya’s absence in the past ceremonies. He knew he was far too busy for that. //I hope Toshiya does something soon!//
“I’m busy too”
“Kaoru stop being stubborn! You’re the one that needs the money!”
“Yeah. Everything in this world revolves around money, doesn’t it?”
Kaoru looked so devastated, especially saying those last words. Kyo felt that whatever had happened had to do with money.
“Kaoru what happened?”
“It’s not important”
Kaoru shrugged shaking his head trying to convince Kyo and himself that it really wasn’t important.
“Not important? You’re destroying yourself and you say it’s not important?”
“I’m not destroying myself Kyo, you’re overreacting”
“I’m not overreacting! Look at yourself! You’re a mess!”
“I’m fine really”
Not even Kaoru believed his own words. He desperately wanted to hold to the idea that he was fine, that nothing was affecting him. However the truth was hitting him on the face and he was having no choice but to accept it. He wasn’t alright, he was a mess. He wanted to cry, scream, and run. But he couldn’t do any of these things. Instead he ate his meal, not even bothering to taste it since he hadn’t eaten a thing in days. His taste sense told him it was good, but he was too numb to care.
“Tell me you’ll at least go to the ceremony Kaoru”
Kaoru nodded his mouth full. Kyo smiled sweetly at him.
“Promise?”
Kaoru rolled his eyes. He knew Kyo wouldn’t give up.
“Yes, I’ll go to the stupid ceremony”
“Alright my stubborn friend. I’ll hold you to your promise. And please take a shower!”
Kaoru smelled himself and was disgusted by his own smell. They both laughed.
“Didn’t notice that!”
“Seems like there are a lot of things you hadn’t noticed. I’m glad I came by in time”
“Yeah, so am I”

The AFF system includes a rigorous and complex abuse control system in order to prevent improper use of the AFF service, and we hope that its deployment indicates a good-faith effort to eliminate any illegal material on the site in a fair and unbiased manner. This abuse control system is run in accordance with the strict guidelines specified above.
