Week Top 11
~*~
I was so sad to see Brandon have to go home. I was glad that Chris and I had spent that evening with him two nights earlier.
Now it was just eleven of us. I was glad that once again, Chris and I were safe.
On our night off, Chris and I decided that instead of going out with the others, we would spend the night in my hotel room. It was supposed to be jus the two of us, but then my roommate, Chris Sligh, overheard me talking to Chris on the phone about ordering a pizza in, and just chilling. After overhearing, Chris Sligh wanted to know if he could join in. Well, seeing as it was his room too, I couldn’t exactly say no. Besides, Chris Sligh was my friend, and I didn’t want to be mean. It gets worse. Chris Sligh then proceeded to invite Phil as well. Then of course we had to invite Sanjaya, because it wouldn’t be fair to leave the only other guy out. I guess it wasn’t that big of a deal, especially since Chris and I wouldn’t be alone anyway. But still. What was supposed to be a night alone in my room with Chris turned out to be a night with friends. Nevertheless, I decided to make sure that Chris and I got time alone—
even if I eventually had to kick the others out.

It figures. I was really looking forward to hanging out with Blake alone in his room. It was cool though. I liked the other guys. They were a great group of guys, and they were all good mutual friends of Blake and mine, so it would be all right.
I was sad that Brandon had gone home. He was pretty cool. We had exchanged phone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses though. We would definitely keep in touch.
Anyway, back to that night. I ordered the pizza, and gave Blake’s room number. I then headed over to Blake and Chris’ room. Sanjaya was there, but Phil wasn’t there yet, for he was in our room, calling his wife.
“Where’s Phil?” Chris asked as he shut the door behind me, having been the one to greet me.
“He’s on the phone with his wife. He’ll be in in a bit,” I said.
Chris handed me a soda from the fridge. Everyone else in the room already had one.
“Thanks,” I said. I walked over to Blake, and sat down on the bed next to him. He was strumming his guitar.
“Did you write anything new?” I asked with a smile.
He smiled back. “Actually, I thought that maybe the five of us could write a little something together tonight.”
I nodded my approval. “Sounds cool.”
“You guys can write. I’ll just stay and watch. I’ve never been all that good at writing,” Sanjaya said.
“Ah, come on! I’m sure you’ll be able to come up with at least one good line or two,” I told him.
Sanjaya shook his head. “I don’t know. Maybe. We’ll see.”
Phil arrived then.
“Phil’s here, now the party can really start!” he joked.
“Actually, now that you’re here, the party has just ended,” Chris joked, tossing him a can of soda.
We all laughed.
Phil caught the can. “Hey!” He stuck his tongue out at Chris.
“So, what’s up?” Phil asked. He took a seat at the table with Sanjaya.
“We’re thinking about writing a song together, the five of us,” Chris said, moving to sit down on the dresser.
“Cool! Let’s get started. What do we want this song to be about?” Phil asked.
“How about it being about five friends chilling in their room?” Sanjaya asked.
“No offense, little dude, but that would make for one corny song,” Chris Sligh said.
“See! I told you I’m not good at writing,” Sanjaya replied, pouting playfully.
“Well, we could make it about five men trying to make it as a band,” Phil suggested.
“I have an idea. Let’s make it about Blake and Chris being secret lovers,” Chris joked.
Blake spit his soda out, and I nearly joked on mine as we both turned bright red.

“Why would you say that?” I asked, quickly standing up to get some paper towels to dry the soda that I had spit out.
“Chillax, will ya? It was just a joke! You and Chris were sitting on the bed together just the two of you, so I thought it would be funny to make a joke out of it. I’m sorry if it was bad taste,” Chris Sligh said.
“It’s all right. You just shocked me for a moment,” I said as I began to wipe off the bedspread.
“If we didn’t know any better, we’d say you really are secret lovers with Chris,” Phil joked.
“Just because we’re both sitting on the bed? Please,” I said as I absentmindedly began to wipe the soda off Chris’s cheek. “Sorry I got some on you,” I said to him.
Chris blushed. “It’s no problem. I was shocked too. But you might want to let me wipe it off myself. Otherwise our friends here will be teasing us all night.”
I realized what I was doing, and instantly felt my cheeks burn. “Oh. Sorry. Here.” I handed Chris a clean sheet of paper towel.
“I think you guys would make a cute couple,” Sanjaya joked.
“Yeah, you already know how to take care of him,” Phil said to me with a smirk.
“Dudes, are you all like gay or something? Cute couple?” Chris Sligh asked Sanjaya and Phil. He was joking, but still. It sounded like he could be slightly homophobic, judging by the way he was talking about the matter.
“Hello, I’m married with kids,” Phil said.
“As if that says anything nowadays,” Chris said.
I nodded. “Very true.” It was fun to take the attention off of us and move it onto someone else.
Phil laughed. “Will you knock it off? I’m not gay, all right? I am totally straight and very happily married to my wife.”
“What about you, Sanjaya? Have you ever thought about being with a man?” Chris Sligh asked, turning his attention onto Sanjaya now.
Sanjaya blushed. “I don’t know. I guess I’ve found both boys and girls attractive before.”
“There’s nothing wrong with that,” I said, wanting to make him feel comfortable.
“According to The Bible there is,” Chris Sligh stated. I had almost forgotten that he had come from a strong Christian family.
“So if I were to be with a boy, you would think I was wrong, and a horrible person?” Sanjaya asked him.
Chris Sligh shook his head. “God hates the sin; not the sinner. I personally don’t approve of gay relationships, but if you were gay, I wouldn’t treat you any differently. You‘d still be my bud.”
Sanjaya smiled. “Well thank you. I’m not saying I’m gay. I’m just curious as to how you felt about the subject matter.”
“Well now you know,” Chris Sligh said.
Chris and I looked at each other. Well now we knew too.

All that talk about gay relationships was making me extremely uncomfortable. I decided to break the ice.
“So, can we please seriously come up with an idea for this song?” I asked.
The rest of the guys all agreed.
“How about making it about one boy going from nobody to somebody, as he does something that makes him famous?” Sanjaya suggested.
We thought about it for a moment.
“I like it,” Chris said, nodding his head.
Phil grinned. “Me too.”
“I’m up for it,” I said with a shrug.
“Well then there you go. Who says you can’t write good?” Blake asked Sanjaya.
“I’ve come up with an idea. I didn’t say anything about being able to write good,” Sanjaya warned.
“Ah, I’m sure you’ll be able to do it,” Blake said. He was encouraging, and that is what I totally love about him.
We began our song then, and took a break only once when the pizza arrived. Even as we ate though, we were thinking of more lines for the song. Blake was good with his guitar, and he and I came up with a melody together that the rest of the guys loved.
We ended up working on our song for a good two hours, and finally, a really good song came out of it.
“So, are we ever going to use this if we make it big? I can’t believe I actually came up with five lines that you guys can use!” Sanjaya said when we were all finished.
The rest of us grinned.
“See? I knew you could do it if you just put your mind to it,” Blake said, winking at him.
“Whomever goes the furthest can have the song,” Phil said.
“Deal,” Chris Sligh replied.
Blake and I both nodded our agreement.
“I have a feeling it will be yours,” I whispered to him when the others weren’t paying attention.
Blake quickly and gently rubbed my thigh. “Well I have a feeling it might be yours,” he said.
I blushed and smiled, loving Blake’s touch. But of course he had to quickly move his hand before the others noticed what he was doing. Even so, just having felt Blake’s touch for a moment was more than enough for me.

Soon, it got late, and Phil, acting like the father figure again, got up to leave and brought Sanjaya with him.
“You have school tomorrow, remember?” he had reminded Sanjaya.
“Yeah, yeah,” Sanjaya said, not too thrilled to have to go back.
I exchanged goodbyes with Phil and Sanjaya.
Chris exchanged goodbyes with Sanjaya, and told Phil he would meet him in their room in a minute.
“I’ll walk you to the door,” Chris Sligh said. He headed to the door, and exchanged goodbyes with Phil and Sanjaya.
Meanwhile, I took this opportunity to go over to my Chris.
“You and I have the same style in writing. I want to have that night alone with you real soon. We can write a song or two together, have a snack, and then I’ll snack on you,” I whispered in his ear. I knew it was bold, and I’ll admit, it wasn’t something I would normally say. But Chris had changed me. I felt different when I was with him. And you know what? I liked it. I liked it a lot.
B*********C
I shivered at Blake’s words. Even though he had whispered them into my ear, I was still worried that Chris Sligh, who was still in the room and only a few feet away would overhear.
I looked to see that Chris was still giving his goodbyes, and that no one was paying any attention to Blake and I.
I turned back to Blake. I knew it was risky, but it only made it more exciting to me. I quickly kissed him hard on the lips.
Blake was surprised, but kissed me back for the brief moment that I let the kiss last.
When I broke the kiss, I grinned. “You can count on that happening very soon,” I told him. “Have a good night.” I winked at him, gave him the “cake shake”, and then bid my goodbyes and goodnights to Chris Sligh before leaving for my room. I had left Blake looking completely shocked, but it was a good shock—
for both of us.
