The next day, it had come time for Catrianna to venture back to England. She had said goodbye to the others, though she had clearly taken the longest to say her goodbyes to Ryan. She immediately hugged him close to her, taking in that familiar scent of Ry's cologne as she pulled away. Oh how she'd miss his warm embrace while back in England. Fate was so cruel to have the two well over an ocean apart. Ryan tilted Cat's chin up when he noticed her blue eyes glittering with tears. He wiped away the tears and smiled. “Cheer up. We'll see each other again before we know it.” He grinned at the girl confidently as he kissed her. “One for the road. Just make sure to call me when you can. Kitten, you know I'll miss you like crazy though.” Cat's tears slipped from her eyes and down her cheeks as she choked back a sob at hearing him call her by the pet name he had given her. That was his name to call her, no one else's. “Oh Ry, I'll miss you so dreadfully much,” she sighed as she embraced him again. It was there where the PA announced that it was the last boarding call. Cat sniffed slightly as she bit her lower lip, but she returned the kiss with one last embrace. “Ciao Darling,” she drew out in her regal manner, making him laugh. Oh how she loved that laugh. With a final wave, she had disappeared through the terminal.
It was when Cat was gone when the sudden pang hit him that she was actually gone. He knew it wasn't a permanent thing, though the ache within was still there. Ry knew that were he to show any of this to the other guys, they would start off with the jeering. Right now, it really wasn't something he wanted to hear. He turned and faced the others with a shrug. “Port of Subs anyone?” It was only a given that the guys would react quickly to say yes. “Good, because I'm feeling rather star-” Ryan paused as he started to say a phrase that sounded a lot like what Cat would say. “I'm famished,” he finished, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. Spence recognized this look to Ry and decided to not dwell for any longer. Rather, the guys piled into the car, where their destination had been at their very favorite sub shop. When all the guys were back in the cabin, Ryan had fallen asleep.
Meanwhile...
The trip had been the longest ever for Cat. When she set foot on London soil again, she could feel her heart sinking. Yes, this was the place where she was born and raised, though her heart wasn't quite here at the given time. As she stepped off the terminal, her parents were there waiting for her arrival. She embraced first her father, then her mother. Though, it was in embracing her mother that she forgot that she had taken off her jean jacket. Therefore, the tattoo of the koala was there, out in the open.
“Catrianna Marie! Is that a-” Cat sighed. She had been back not even twenty minutes, and her mother was back to her curt self. “Yes Mum, it's a tattoo.” The woman's face paled at the words of her daughter. “What the Bloody Hell were you thinking?” she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. The woman's daughter shrank back just the slightest bit. It was when her voice got deathly quiet when Cat had to fear her life. “Johnathan, do you have something to say to your daughter for this atrocity?” Johnathan Sinclair merely took off his glasses, cleaning them with a handkerchief before putting the glasses back on. “I expected something of that nature sooner or later. Though, let me have a closer look at it.” He peered at the koala, then nodded in approval. “What, no satanic symbol. How disappointing, Catrianna. If you are going to live on the wild side, you ought to do it right.” He winked at his daughter, and reached for her suitcase. “Daddy!” Cat had gasped at the same time that her mother had gasped. “John! Have you gone mad? What will others say?” Jonathan turned around and raised an eyebrow at his wife. “Jacquelyn, our daughter is fully capable of making her own decisions.”
Jacquelyn Sinclair shook her head. “It was – that boy, that musician, wasn't it?” Cat paused and turned around, a new sense of confidence building within her. “Mother, I will not stand here to listen to you berating my boyfriend. Is that understood?” The girl's blue eyes glinted in that severe way that was ever identical to her mother's. “What...? Boyfriend? Catrianna..” In this particular moment, the woman had fainted in her state of shock. The unconscious woman's husband stared at his daughter, then his unconscious wife. “Remarkable Catrianna, quite remarkable indeed.” Cat smiled sheepishly at her father, before both had to call someone to attend to her mother.
The instant Catrianna had gotten home, she had logged onto her computer to write Ryan an Email:
Ry,
Cheers! Mum fainted when she saw the tattoo.
-Cat-
The next morning, Ryan had woken up to find an Email from Cat. He immediately laughed as he typed his response:
I would have paid to see that. Glad you made it home alright. I'm missing you already.
-Ry-
Catrianna had been checking her email between classes when her eyes had spotted that email from Ryan. Beaming, she typed her response:
It was bloody brilliant! My father even said so himself.
Ry, you know I'm already missing you... I miss you ever so much.
I love you.
-Cat-
After Catrianna had sent that email, she immediately clicked to the website of UNLV. Smiling to herself, she clicked on the international student transfer application. She filled out the application, then saw to it that all other necessities were sent out. Though, she kept this secret from Ryan. She would tell him if word came that she had been accepted.
About three weeks later, Ryan had finally found time to be able to check his email. He hadn't been able to do so in quite some time. Though, after one or two reprimanding calls from his girlfriend, he figured he ought to at least just check his Emails:
Kitten,
So that you don't bite my head off, I managed to sneak some online time.
It's funny to hear how your parents reacted to the tattoo. Your dad's reaction surprised me though. But hey, he seems like a pretty cool guy.
Anyways, sorry I haven't been reliable lately, life is crazy these days.
I love you and miss you like crazy.
-Ry-
As Cat had been seated in front of the computer, she had been sifting through her mail when she saw a rather large bundle come from UNLV. It had turned out to be a folder. Tears of happiness escaped her eyes as she read the words in the letter enclosed. After she had recovered from her own emotional moment, she set out to respond to Ryan's email.
Meanwhile...
Ryan had been checking his email when he had found one from Cat. His eyes had widened as he read it. The shock probably got the best of him as he had apparently passed out from the shock. Spencer, who had been in the room raised an eyebrow at his unconscious friend, and made way to the computer screen, where he read the email on the screen:
Ry! I've got the greatest news!!
I've been accepted at UNLV * -squee!!- *
I move to Las Vegas in July :)
Cheers,
–Your Dear Sweet Kitten -
Moving his unconscious friend to the couch where he could sleep it off, Spencer then in turn took his cell out, dialing a number. “Becca, it's me. Cat got accepted. She moves to Vegas in July...
a/n: Wow- what a chapter... Had to really break it apart... hope you enjoy!! :) Cheers!
