Sorry! It's been like a week since I updated! I offer no excuses because excuses are bad. That's part of my self-help thing that I started of my own accord this last Monday. I thought it would help me to become a more... *Self-less* person. I hate that word right now. Anyway... only one more chapter after this one. I'm not entirely happy with this chapter. At.all. But yeah. I'm okay-sorta-kinda-in-a-way happy with the last chapter, but only the plot bunny. Er-hem! To get down to business, I keep rambling. On with the drama!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Though it wasn’t her choice, Silver hadn’t seen Ryan for two weeks following the unexpected kiss. She had to tie up everything and let everyone know where she was going to be going. She also had to start saving for an apartment.
The ones in Detroit weren’t all that expensive, so she didn’t have that hard of a time finding a good one. She had to be packing everything up, after all she was leaving in a month’s time to go check out campus and get everything all unpacked in her apartment.
Silver had hardly talked to Brendon as well, but she didn’t really mind either way. She was just too busy for socializing. The only time she had talked to him was when he stopped by to wish her a happy 18th birthday on July 24th.
It was a week after her birthday that she finally did go talk to Ryan. She was dressed in just a simple purple tee and black skinny jeans, her black converse sticking out at the bottom of her legs. She smiled, applying some eyeliner and then leaving, passing Brendon without another a word.
She got into her car, driving over to Ryan’s house quickly. She was planning on staying for a little while at least. Try to get everything sorted out.
She pulled up and he was just locking the door. He spotted her getting out of the car and smiled. “I was just coming over to see you!” He said cheerfully. “Do you feel like going out to eat?”
“Sure, anything. I just want to talk.” She said blatantly. He nodded and they got into Silver’s car, driving to somewhere they could be secluded and not risk being overheard. That was how Silver liked her conversations, nice and quiet.
They ordered and were sat at a table in a corner away from everyone else, by request. “So, what do you want to talk about?” He asked nonchalantly. She could tell her knew exactly what she wanted to talk about.
“What did the kiss mean?” She asked, keeping her eyes off of him. From what she could see, he smirked.
“What do you want it to mean, Silver?” He asked. She took a chance and glanced upwards, seeing him watching her interestedly.
“I don’t know…” She whispered, her eyes going back to the place mat. They sat in silence for a few minutes until the waitress came back with their food. Ryan had thought for sure she would want them to date, and was ready for that. But she didn’t know, and he had no idea what to say now. She picked innocently at her chicken tenders and fries. She never got to eat like this at Brendon’s, seeing as he was Vegan. They ate in silence.
“It’s okay.” He said finally. “Just give it some time.”
“I don’t have time, Ryan.” She snapped, now done with her food. He looked taken aback by her snapping. “I’m only here for another three, maybe four weeks. Then it’s off to Michigan.”
Ryan sat there, looking at her in disbelief. He had completely forgotten about that. ‘How must she feel?’ He thought guiltily. ‘I just forced a kiss on her, and now she’s confused. What if she developed feelings for me? She’d be stuck at college…’ He dropped his fork to the table and paused before picking it up. He finished and looked up at her. “Are you ready to go?”
“Not really. We haven’t talked that much.” She said, her arms crossed across her chest. “But we can talk on the way home, I guess.”
They left after Ryan paid and made their way to Brendon’s house. “So, you really don’t know what you want to feel from that kiss?” Ryan asked, a note of desperation in his voice.
“Not really, Ry. I mean, yeah. You’re cute and smart and funny… but I’m not looking for a relationship right now. Maybe after I’m done with college.” She said, keeping her eyes on the road. “Are you coming in today?”
“Yeah, sure. I was going to talk to Brendon anyway.” He said downheartedly.
“Ryan, don’t sulk.” She said authoritatively. He sighed, straightening up in his seat. They pulled into Brendon’s driveway and got out. Silver went in first, seeing if Brendon was presentable, but Ryan went in anyway. He had seen Brendon coming from the shower, he could see him any other way. He could really care less at the moment, anyway.
He sat on the couch talking to Brendon while Silver went off to get in the shower. She came back out as Ryan was leaving and said goodbye to him. She sat next to Brendon, knowing he wanted to say something to her.
“Ryan really likes you.” He said simply.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” She replied quickly, getting up.
“You’re going to break his heart if you just leave for college and come back and not talk to him at all.” He continued.
“Brendon. I don’t want a relationship. You realize how hard it would be having my boyfriend live in Las Vegas while I am in Michigan to go to college?” Brendon stayed silent, letting her rant on. “Yeah, I’ve liked Ryan since I’ve met him, I’ll admit that much. But I never wanted to break Panic up. I would’ve done that, with ending it with him sometime. It’s just easier this way.”
With that, she went back into her room. Ryan was standing just hidden by a wall, listening to everything. He wrote a quick note and handed it to Brendon and left. When Brendon left he stuck it in her suitcase, hoping she would find it sometime.

Oh-em-gee guys! What did the note say? Well, if I portrayed Ryan right, then it should be... cliffhanger! And I am happy to say that I am going to put up the sequel, even though I am not done with it. That means that once I get to the end of my prewriting, updates will be few and far between. Oh yeah! And I'm starting a Green Day fic. (featuring everyone's favorite DRUMMER! Tré Cool!! ^_^) Yeah. Hope you enjoy TILL NEXT TIME!!! I'M OUT IN PEACES...
