A/N: So I get no comments for this anymore, which sucks.
But yeah, here's the update.
I felt my heart sink and my breath were caught in my throat. For a second I did nothing but stare, but then the panic hit me.
"GERARD!" My voice roared through the house. My eyes watered as I screamed Gerard's name again, louder this time. I heard his running steps as I held my hands out and picked Ellie up. Her skin was cold to touch and I let out a cry of anger mixed with sorrow as Gerard stormed through the door. I guess he had told Jenn to wait downstairs since she didn't follow him. His eyes changed from confused to sad as they fell on the lifeless girl in my arms.

Ten minutes.
It sounds like so little time, but it isn't. In ten minutes a thousand people can die in an earthquake. In ten minutes a woman can become a widower with two children she can't support. In ten minutes you can become a millionaire just by scraping on a piece of paper.
In just ten minutes, either your wildest dreams or fears can come true. Ten minutes is enough to change your life to the extent that it can never be the same again. Sometimes ten minutes isn't enough time. Sometimes you wish with all your heart that you could get just one more minute…
And sometimes those ten minutes seem to last forever. In ten minutes we called an ambulance, we called Mikey and told him to come get Jenn, and our world fell apart. In ten minutes the ambulance brought me, Gerard and Ellie to the hospital. Ten minutes is an awful long time.

"She can't die" Came Gerard's hoarse voice again to my left. We had gone from crying, to screaming, to… nothing. Neither of us showed any type of emotion anymore. Gerard kept repeating 'she can't die' and I kept agreeing.
"Why doesn't anyone say something?" The desperation in his voice broke my heart and I had to bite my lip to not break down again. His words made sense though. Doctors and nurses walked or sprinted pass us, but no one stopped to tell us how our baby girl was doing. Both I and Gerard had tear-stained cheeks. Our hair were a mess and our clothed shabby. But still he managed to look beautiful. A wave of love for Gerard washed over me and I took his hand in mine and squeezed it.
"We'll make it through this baby" I said, trying to reassure him and me at the same time. He let his eyes meet mine and he smiled weakly at me.
"I love you Frank" He said.
"I love you too Gee" I leaned in to kiss him just as a doctor approached us. She didn't seem upset or disgusted by the fact that two men just kissed. She gave us a sympathetic look before talking.
"She's stable for now, but it's still critical" She said carefully.
"What does that mean?" Gerard asked, making no effort to hide the fresh tears that now streamed down his face. It killed me to see him that way, so miserable.
"That we don't know yet"

She talked to us for about fifteen minutes, telling us what was wrong and what they were doing to help her. Ellie had a bad heart, and her left lung had collapsed. Can you imagine? A one year old with a bad heart. I knew what Gerard was thinking, and I was thinking the same thing. Why her? Both I and Gerard had been smokers, drinkers and… well we had tried other things too. It felt so unfair that our little girl should have a bad heart.
The doctor told us that we weren't allowed to see her, but she was going to arrange for us to spend the night at the hospital. Neither I nor Gerard said anything, we just nodded. Soon we were alone in the waiting area as the doctor rushed away to make arrangements.
"We should call the guys and our families" I said weakly before turning to Gerard's sad and worn face. He nodded and wrapped his arms around me, embracing me.
"I love you Frankie" He whispered into my neck. I took a deep breath and the smell of his apple shampoo filled my nose.
"When she's out of here I want to get married" I started and withdrew from his embrace.
"I want to marry you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I want to die with you fifty years from now when we're both old and bald and wrinkly"
His face lit up and he leaned forward to capture my lips in a heated kiss.
"Then we will" He said against my lips. For the first time in hours I smiled.

When you're waiting for news, it seems that time just can't pass fast enough. That night me and Frank lied in each others arms. Sometimes he cried, sometimes I cried, and sometimes we both cried together. Our sobs matched each other as out tears soaked the pillow. The doctor had fixed us two beds, but she wasn't surprised when me and Frank claimed the first bed together. The seemed so much longer then any other night. Neither of us could sleep, and neither of us talked. We had told Mikey to bring Jenn and the other guys to the hospital in the morning. We had also told him everything we knew, which wasn't much.
When the digital clock to my right showed 4 am I opened my mouth to speak.
"We'll get through this you know" My voice made Frank open his eyes, and I saw in them the same fear that I knew must be in mine.
"As long as I have you Gerard"
That was all he said. After that he kissed me a few times and then he went back to holding me. I sighed and closed my eyes slowly. His words calmed me more then I think he realized, but it was true. As long as I had Frankie, then I could do anything.

Morning finally arrived, not a second to early. Me and Frank shared a few fumbling kisses before stumbling out of the room. We made our way over to Ellie's room but were told by a nurse something that again turned our world upside down.
"She was just brought into operation" The young nurse explained. Her eyes told us she wasn't used to give bad news to people. Her blonde hair was tied in a neat bun on the back of her head. She had the typical nurse 'look' about her.
"What?" Frank's distressed voice matched the look on his face as he shouted at her. The nurse swallowed nervously but I didn't care about her.
"What's going on?" I snapped at her. She flinched from the tone in my voice, but I could care less.
"She got worse, I was just on my way to-" She tried to finish but a cry from Frank cut her off. He fell to his knees on the floor and I grabbed his shoulder to stop him from falling on his face. The nurse looked alarmed and I wanted to slap her. But at the moment my full attention was turned towards the weeping Frank on the floor.
