“No, no, no, no, no…” Luca said to herself, looking through the rack of various dresses. She sighed, practically ripping her hair out of her skull. She needed to find a dress for Homecoming. Tonight. And there were none that she liked. At all. Gerard had been nice to her lately and asked her to go with him. She said yes, of course. He was, after all, her boyfriend. ‘For nearly two years,’ She found she had to keep reminding herself. He had asked for more lately. More touching, more kissing, more sex… that sort of thing.
The sort of things that Luca just wasn’t interested in anymore. That was fine when they were knew feelings. Now, they were just old and unappreciated.
Luca sat down finally, taking a breath. She needed to stop and just think about what she needed to find. For some reason, she remembered the events of the day before.
“You changed, Luca. Whether you like it or not.”
“I did? Really? How?” She asked. She turned to look at him in mild amusement. He was the one who changed.
“Well, you don’t like to touch me anymore. You used to love on me all the time. Everyday, we would kiss and everything when we had downtime. Now you just sit there like I’m not even here!” He said, anger rising in every word he said. She felt the tears already building up, but she shrugged them back.
“Gerard, I still do those things!”
“No you fucking don’t, Luca. Tell me why! You changed so much, I don’t love this new you. Whatever you did, you need to change back. You’re not happy like this.”
‘I haven’t been happy for months. At least, not with you…’ She thought. She stayed silent for a few moments and he growled.
“Why aren’t you talking?” He roared.
“I don’t know!” She screamed, equally voluminous.
“Goddammit, LUCA! You don’t fucking know anything, do you?” He yelled. “You just need to go slit your wrists again, maybe you’ll be happy like you were then!” He spat. Her eyes filled with tears at the remembrance of what happened the last time she slit her wrists in anger. She took off up the stairs to her right and got up a floor before he caught up to her. He grabbed her by her shoulders and hugged her tightly. “I’m so fucking sorry, I didn’t mean it. You just made me mad. I love you so much.”
After seeing that in her head again, Luca didn‘t want to go to Homecoming at all. She didn’t want to see him ever again. How could he say something like that? She wondered. Another reason why she didn’t really belong with him. Another thing to add to her laundry list of things to tell him when she finally dumped his ass.
Luca jumped up and grabbed a random dress, not caring. Her phone went off. ‘Guess who.’ She thought.
Finally, the dance had begun in full swing.
“Hey, I’m going to get some drinks.” She called to him. He nodded and she headed over to the concessions stand, limping slightly from her lack of shoes. It was halfway through the gathering. Her toes had been stepped on when the mosh pit was started.
She was standing at the counter, waiting for her drink when someone got close to her. “You look amazing tonight.” A voice she didn’t recognize straight off. She turned sharply, slightly jumpy, and found Mr. Iero standing next to her, a half smile playing on his lips. He had a neatly cut black dress shirt, black slacks that accentuated his legs, making him look taller, and a red tie. He had a purple jacket thrown over his arm. Luca smiled at him, laughing on the inside at his jacket, but her heart leaping into her throat.
She looked down at herself comically, looking at the deep purple dress she had on, just a plain, spaghetti strap, mid-thigh length. Nothing special. She had a red rose tied around her wrist to help make the outfit look more complete.
“Thanks. You don’t look half bad yourself. We match.” She said, figuring it would be best to repay the compliment. It was really an awkward thing to say to a student… He smiled, sticking his hands into his pockets.
“That's pretty awesome. Two of my favorite colors. So where’s thee boyfriend?” He asked. She looked around and spotted him still on the dance floor with his best friend, Bert McCracken. His hair was looking slick tonight. Kelly Chow, Luca’s best friend, was dancing with her boyfriend and Gerard in happiness.
“Over there, with a couple of our friends.” She said, feeling more awkward by every syllable.
“Oh, cool. You probably want to get back to him, then?” He asked, a slight sarcasm in his voice. He seemed to glare at Gerard from across the room, but Luca‘s mind had a habit of playing tricks on her, too. She looked at Gerard, who finally spotted her. He raised a threatening eyebrow and began to stalk towards her, his hands clenched.
"Well, I..."
“Hey Luca, Mr. Iero. I was wondering where you were and who caught you up. Let’s go back to our table.” Gerard said commandingly. She waved bye to Mr. Iero and went with Gerard to their table.
The grip on her arm was making her fingers go numb, and she could barely hold onto the cup of Pepsi she just got. He was near fuming already. Gerard was walking so fast she could hardly keep up, and it was all she could do from stumbling every few feet. They reached their table, finally, and stopped.
“What the fuck was that?” He demanded, throwing her to her seat. She shrugged, taking a sip from her straw.
“He just started talking to me, okay? He’s my teacher, chill out.” She said, looking back over to the concessions and seeing him looking directly at them.
“You know, I don’t much care for that gay asshole.” He said with a sneer, his glare trained directly at Iero. “He can go to hell and fuck a few more of his students while he’s at…” Luca jumped up and ripped the top off of her Pepsi to throw it in his face. She knew it was a bad idea, but she grabbed her clutch and shoes and bolted as fast as she could. She’d gotten halfway across the floor when Gerard caught her arm, wheeled her around and she felt something sharp go across her face. She felt her cheek and looked, feeling something warm and wet. Blood. Gerard had a ring on.
She stumbled, trying to get away from him, and fell to the floor. No one seemed to notice. Gerard yanked her off the floor and grabbed her things as he started to haul her off to the bathroom area. She kept her face toward the floor, trembling in fear and cold. They stopped, but she didn’t dare look up.
“No, she is my girlfriend. We’re just going off to talk, aren’t we, Luca?” Gerard asked, shaking her a little. She looked up into the face of whom was interrogating Gerard. She knew it before she looked. Mr. Iero was standing in front of them, eyebrows raised.
“You need to leave her alone. Let her go.” He said, a quiet, cold rage building inside of his voice. Gerard scoffed and rolled his eyes. Luca remained silent and kept her eyes on the floor. “Luca, did he hit you?” He asked, his voice changing.
Luca glanced at him, then at Gerard, whose face was contorted with a rage that she’d never seen. “Of course not.”
“So, you’re saying what I saw wasn’t right? Was it a trick of the light?” Iero asked, getting angry again. He hated seeing girls so… abused.
Gerard butted in quickly. “Obviously, you thought you saw something that you didn’t. Now leave.” Gerard said, beginning to pull Luca away again.
Kelly Chow ran up to the trio, yelling at Gerard. She had seen the violence from the dance floor.
Gerard was suspended on the spot, and asked to leave the area immediately. Mr. Iero carried Luca over to a table, letting her cry into his shirt. He gave her his jacket to wear when she got cold, and he stayed with her the rest of the night. He also offered to drive her home, but her mom came and got her.
‘Maybe it’s for the best…’ Iero thought, watching the car drive off, and realizing that she still had his jacket. He sighed, hoping that she would sleep tonight.

Oh, I forgot to say this is my favorite chapter in the first half of the story, save the very last chapter. :D My favorite of all time, out of all of my stories is the last one.
Chapter Seventeen. Yes, eleven chapters to go. But I promise there are no chapters that are boring. No fillers, actually. I like all action all time. XD
I just want to post the rest of the chapters now... *sketchy eyes* *types*
Uh... I gotta go. *grin*
