After the main crowd has dispersed only David, John, Scott and a few stragglers were left in the downstairs pub.
Jemma was still sat at the bar watching the band pack away the instruments when she noticed that David hadn't seemed to take his eyes off Jo for most of the night.
"She doesn't bite you know." She smirked as David turned to her with a confused look.
"What?" Asked David his brow furrowing.
"Jo," Laughed Jemma, "Well not unless you ask her to."
David smirked. "I hope you're not trying to make out I fancy her, I'm only just getting my head round being dumped."
Jemma's face dropped. "Sorry, well maybe you and Jo could find some common ground, her fella's just finished with her..."
David's expression changed to sheer horror as he saw Jo stood behind Jemma, a look of thunder on her face.
"Tell the whole fucking world why don't you!" Snapped Jo, making Jemma jump round in shock.
"Jo!" Jemma stumbled for words. "I'm..."
"Oh save it, I'm not interested." Jo grabbed her guitar, flinging it over her shoulder and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.
"Shit!" Moaned Jemma under her breath.
David shook his head and decided to go after her.
Outside Jo leaned on the railing that over looked Mermaid Quay, it was a cold night but she was shaking from rage rather than the cold.
"Hey, you okay?" Jo spun round at the sound of the voice, she couldn't hide her shock as she realised it was David and not one of the others who had followed her.
"That gobby bitch has just been broadcasting the gory details of my life, how do you think I feel?" Snorted Jo.
"Sorry stupid question." Muttered David sheepishly.
"No I'm sorry I shouldn't have snapped at you."
An awkward silence passed between them. "You erm, fancy going for a drink?" Asked David, hell it couldn't hurt to have someone to talk to who wasn't just being nice to him because he'd just split up from his girlfriend.
"Yeah okay then." Said Jo calmly. "Just don't ask me where cos I've only been in Wales one day."
David laughed, causing a small smirk to cross Jo's face. "Come on, I know a nice little wine bar just down the road."
"Come on Jo, please pick up." Muttered Jemma worriedly as she pressed re-dial on her mobile.
"Have you seen David?" Asked John.
"No sorry." Replied Jemma.
"He's probably outside waiting for us." Said Scott. John shrugged and followed his partner as they exited the pub.
Jemma waved them goodbye and headed to the stage where Zack, AJ and Paul were all giving her a dirty look.
"You just couldn't help yourself could you?" Sneered Paul. "You just had to interfere."
"I was just..."
"Just nothing Jemma." Snapped Paul. "Jo doesn't need her life broadcasting to all who will listen, I know you care and you just think you're doing what's best but think next time, she's not as vulnrable as you make out."
Jemma sighed and nodded, tears welling in her eyes. Paul softened slightly and hugged her.
"Come on darling, we'll go look for her."
Jo and David sat in a small corner booth at the back of the Wheat Sheaf Wine Bar.
"So do you have a personality transplant when you're on stage?" Asked David, making an attempt at breaking the awkward silence that had descended.
Jo laughed. "What do you mean?"
"Well when I first met you this afternoon you gave the impression you wouldn't say boo to a goose."
Jo smiled warmly. "Let me think, I'm a self confessed Doctor Who maniac...not as bad as Jemma granted, but meeting your favourite actor can have a damning effect on your ability to speak."
"Twice in one lifetime as well, what did I do to deserve this?"
"Total coincidence." Shrugged David.
Another moments silence passed and this time it was Jo who broke it.
"So what did Jemma tell you before I interrupted?"
David looked at her awkwardly before replying.
"Just that you and your partner had split up."
"Well at least she didn't tell you why."
David thought it best not to push the issue, it was obviously something Jo wasn't comfortable talking about.
"Anyway," He said quickly changing the subject. "Have you always been such a diva on the guitar?"
Jo smiled. "I used to take lessons when I was at school, but that was just on the acoustic guitar. When I started college I started playing the the electric guitar, I mainly taught myself to play a few basic songs by memorising the notes."
"You're really good." Smiled David as he sipped his wine. "So is Jo your real name or is it short for something?"
"It's short for Joanne, but no ones called me that since I was sixteen."
David rolled his eyes thoughtfully, he was rather enjoying getting to know Jo.
"So what else do you want to know about me?" Smirked Jo.
David laughed. "Well I know your real name, you've had a love of music all your life...you got any more hidden talents?"
"Yeah, back home in London I was an artist. I used to work for a company who did pet portraits."
David raised his eyebrows. "Wow I'm impressed."
"Not bad for a twentyone year old eh?" Smiled Jo.
"You're only twentyone?" Gasped David. "I thought you were at least thirty!"
Jo's jaw dropped open. "I don't know whether to be insulted or not!"
David laughed embarrased. "I...er...well."
Jo raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"I'm gunna shut up now."
"Yeah I think that's for the best." Laughed Jo.
