A/N: Filler chapter ... with some good stuff between Becca and Mama Wentz. Cat, I love you for our plot bunny orgies! And just think, only one more night of having to repeat every few minutes b/c of my shitty internet! :) Sally, your story makes my day, and reading your comments gives me giggles every time I see them. Ivy, well, you know. On with the chapter ... and hopefully I can get at least one in tomorrow while trying to pack up the rest of my shit for the move back. *squeal of excitement*

Rebecca rolled over with a groan, hitting the floor. She stood, rubbing her ass which was now starting to hurt from the impact, and wondering how she had fallen out of bed. She had a large bed, and hadn’t taken to tossing in her sleep again since she had seemingly gotten over the nightmares. Although when she turned back to the bed, she laughed realizing why she had fallen out of the bed. She hopped back on the bed and gave Cat a quick shake.
“Hey Cat, wake up. You can stop hogging the bed now. At least Ry’s a skinny guy, or you might have trouble sleeping together. Besides, today’s the rehearsals.”
Becca laughed as Cat muttered something that didn’t sound too flattering, before going right back to sleep. Oh well, Cat could sleep a little longer. After all, last night had been a late one. Sure their bachelorette party had been a little more subdued, considering two of the girls couldn’t drink because of being pregnant and the others abstained out of either respect or fear for their lives at the wrath of April and Ivy, but it was still a blow-out party.
She grabbed her bathrobe and rushed to try and grab a shower before anyone else woke up and needed the bathroom, particularly the two moms-to-be. And so after one of the fastest showers she had ever taken, she wrapped her hair in the towel and pulled on her bathrobe and crossed back over to her room, hopping out of the way as Ivy took the bathroom as soon as Becca had moved far enough out of the doorway.
After drying herself off and getting dressed in a sundress that her aunt had given her for her birthday, Becca managed to get Cat up with some muttered curses. As Cat went to take a shower and get ready herself, Becca went down to the kitchen, smiling as she saw the boys all over the living room floor. She smirked knowing they would get theirs in a little while when the other girls woke up, but for now they could have their sleep. After all, from what she had heard from Patrick when he had called to let her know that he was driving them all back over, given that the others had drunk more than their share, the boys’ party had gotten pretty out of control.
She smiled at the sight of her mom scurrying around the kitchen busy fixing things for breakfast, despite the fact that most of the people probably wouldn’t feel too much like eating. Becca walked over and gave her mom a quick hug and kiss on the cheek, sensing that something was wrong. Her mom had always been an early riser and a bit of a kitchen busybody, but this morning seemed particularly agitated.
“What’s wrong, Mama?” Becca sat down at the small island in the middle of the kitchen, watching her mom scurry around the kitchen even more than normally. She took the offered cup of tea that her mom had made with a smile.
“Nothing’s wrong, Rebecca. Just trying to get some breakfast fixed up before I am going to meet with Jacqueline to help her go shopping for her dress. She has the old-fashioned idea that the mother of the bride has to have a special dress. But at least it will give you kids a day to yourselves before the rehearsal. Poor Cat seems worn ragged with the planning and worry.”
Becca noticed a bit of wetness in her mother’s eyes when she mentioned the mother of the bride part, and nodded having guessed that at least some of her mom’s problem seemed to be the upcoming marriages. “Mom, you know you’re a horrid liar. I don’t know who is worse, you or Petey. Dad’s not a great one either.” She got up and wrapped her arms around the older woman’s waist, laying her head gently against her mom’s shoulder. “Everything will be okay. And you don’t have to worry about me, Mom. You did a good job. Now I get to go and make you proud by making my own way in the world.”
“I was not lying, Rebecca. I’m not worried about you, well any more than every parent is worried about their children. It’s just sad to think of my baby girl getting married. And Peter having a baby, which shouldn’t be a shock, but I’m sure you understand. I’ll be okay, Rebecca. I just need a little time to adjust. But now let go of me so I can finish the breakfast.”
Becca laughed and gave her mom a kiss on the cheek before deciding that the boys had slept long enough and headed out to the garage to get what she knew would get the boys up. She walked back into the living room carrying two metal trash can lids. She grinned innocently at her mother’s laugh as she passed by. When she reached the living room, she began to bang the lids together loudly, knowing that nobody could sleep through the noise.
“ALRIGHT BOYS!! TIME TO GET UP!!”
“Beckanne, if you don't stop the noise...” Pete groaned rolling over, still a little hungover and wanting to sleep. He growled at Becca, stopping just as he saw Patrick getting up from where he had slept on the couch after getting the other boys settled, having not had as much to drink as the others. “Poison, don't give me that look. It was just a party---“ He said, having caught the glare from Ivy, who had come downstairs as well.
Ivy shook her head, starting off towards the kitchen. “Pete, save it... I really don't want to hear excuses...”
“Wow Pete, you're really in the doghouse now.”
Becca grinned at Viv’s comment. Cat and Becca had managed to convince her to spend the night over rather than rushing off, and Viv had been up taking care of Angie. Becca offered to take care of the young one while Viv cleaned up and got something to eat. So rather than staying in the living room with the boys who were arguing back and forth, she stood and walked off towards the front office, where she hoped she could at least give the little darling some peace and quiet.
As Becca reached the office, Angie woke up and started to sniffle, being disoriented and still a little sleepy. Becca walked over to one of the chairs and sat down, moving Angie to where she laid in her lap and began to tickle her. After a few minutes, Angie seemed to quiet down and merely smiled up at Becca giggling at the funny faces she was making.
“You’re such a cutie. And I wonder what your mommy is doing with Bill. You’ll like him, Ang. He’s goofy, just like you. You know baby girl, I’m going to have a baby niece or nephew running around soon enough. Maybe I could steal you from your mommy and get some practice.”
Becca glanced up at the sound of muffled laughter from the doorway, and smiled as she saw that it was Spencer leaning against the doorframe. She frowned and raised an eyebrow. “And just what’s so funny, Spence?”
Spencer shrugged with a laugh. “You talking to a baby? Asking the baby questions? Or just the fact that I stood down the hall for at least five minutes trying to keep from laughing at the look on Patrick’s face as he stood and watched you with Angie? Oh, I’m sure at least one of those is funny. Or just the fact at how hopelessly smitten you and Patrick are. At least you caught a good one too.”
Becca laughed and shook her head, at Spencer’s comments. There was absolutely nothing wrong with holding a conversation with a baby. In fact, it was recommended for their brain development, she had read somewhere. As to why she had been reading up on those things, she wouldn’t admit. But it had been several years ago when she found the article.
“Thanks, Spencey. But come on, we ought to get going before the others either fall back asleep or leave us here, and I have to drag you along while we go finish getting our pre-wedding doll ups.”
Spencer shook his head at Becca’s threats. “Uh uh. Besides, I have to go keep track of Ryan. I swear Pete must have been trying to kill him last night with those drinks. Some of the things your brother was mixing ...” He let the sentence hang with a quick shudder.
Becca laughed as she walked past him, heading off to find Viv before the girls went off to finish their errands before heading to the church for the rehearsals. It felt a little odd thinking that tomorrow would be Cat's wedding, and then she would be starting the planning on her own.
