A/N: Okay, so terribly sorry that the update has taken so long to post. But my mind hasn't been much in the mode of catching up to Cat and Ivy's stories ... and I ended up writing several new chapters (which will be posted as soon as I finish catching up). Also I know some others have this same excuse ... school ... Junior year of college, and have been killed by my profs for various reasons (I'm also trying to keep more on top of things with school-work, so thus writing takes a semi-backseat). But enough useless drivel, and on to the chapter ... and heres to hoping that I can get some more catch up chapters up soon enough *praises for the weekend coming!*

The wedding rehearsal had went off without a hitch. Well, if you ignored Cat’s small breakdown. ... And the fact that two of the bridesmaids had to keep rushing off to the restroom. ... And the fact that one of the bridesmaids had to stop a few times to take care of her baby. ... And the fact that all the guys in the wedding except the pastor were sporting rather nasty hangovers. ... So all in all, it was a normal chaotic rehearsal.
Becca had stood up there with Cat throughout the rehearsal, and couldn’t help but have the idea in the back of her head that she would be next. Sure she knew that it was perhaps not the most polite thing to say to Cat. But then again, she wasn’t really planning on telling her friend that when she might should have been paying more attention to the pastor or such, that she was inwardly a little panicky over the idea of her own impending wedding.
Although luckily enough, the rehearsals seemed to finish right on schedule so she didn’t freak out and have to rush off herself. As she was leaving the church, Becca stopped for a moment to just stare up at the clouds, letting the cool breeze and warmth of the sun mingled together calm her down for a bit before she jumped feeling a set of arms wrap around her.
“Come on, Becca, they’re about to serve the food. And they might try to slip us meat without us there to tell them different. It’s a conspiracy, I swear it.”
Becca giggled at Brendon’s goofy smile and comments. She just shook her head and followed Brendon off to the rehearsal dinner, which was sure to be an event. She made her way over to her seat up near the front with Cat and Ryan, although she had managed to help sort out having just Ryan and Cat at their own table for the dinner. So at the table she was at, there was just Patrick, Spencer, Brendon, Pete, and Ivy, along with herself. Apparently Viviana had traded seats with Patrick to in what she would probably think be fixing Cat’s mom’s planning. Although Becca had a sneaking suspicion that Viv was doing that just so Patrick could sit with Becca, while she sat off on her own, with what appeared to be none other than Bill Beckett. She would have to go thank Viv for the gesture later, along with asking about the sudden interest in Bill, of course.
After the meal had progressed enough, with the normal banter and such going around the table, everyone had pretty much settled down for a little bit, letting everyone talk amongst themselves, as per usual with the group. Although soon enough came the time when the inevitable process of speeches from the maid of honor and best man would be held, and Becca stood, tapping her glass with a fork.
“Attention, Maid of Honor wants to make her speech.” She smiled as she waited for everyone to calm down and listen before continuing. “As Maid of Honor, I think it's only fitting that I make a speech, so here we go. Well, I remember as if it were only yesterday, when one of our esteemed groomsmen was hit by a bottle on stage, preforming in England...”
“Hey! What's me getting hit by a bottle have to do with anythin- Oh... keep talking, sorry.”
Becca glared at Brendon, instantly getting a contrite look from his face. She grinned before continuing on her speech, wanting to finish up as quickly as possible before she either forgot the rest of her speech, or worse, got sick from the public speaking, even if this was just a gathering of family and friends.
“Thank you Brendon, for the kind words. Now, as I was saying, that on that day, who was to know that the guitarist would knock a staff member off a ladder, only to result in having to cart her off to the Emergency Room. For quite some time, the two of them corresponded, before they met again. Sure there were some roadblocks in the beginning...”
“More than some roadblock.”
“Okay, you wait your turn for your speech. This is my time now.”
Becca put her hand on her hip, giving Spencer a death glare that he had only seen on her face a few times, and every time had scared him, this time being no different. He instantly cowed down in his chair, Brendon giving his hand a light squeeze while hidden under the table. Becca flashed an innocent smile to the audience before continuing.
“Yes, there were roadblocks, but by good graces, these roadblocks seemed no match for this dynamic duo. They took their first steps into a flourishing romantic relationship. Through thick and thin, they have overcome all obstacles along the way, to be sitting here tonight, on the eve of their wedding. Well, anyways, I make a toast to you, Ryan and Catrianna, hoping that your future together is a bright one. That day the two had met had been nothing but a twist of fate. I hope for only the best for your lives to come.”
She laughed a little seeing that Cat was dabbing at her eyes with a napkin. Although as she finished up her speech, she felt her own tears start to well up in her eyes. Weddings always made her emotional, but this one she had been a part of from the very beginning when Ryan had knocked Cat off a ladder back in England. So she guessed that part of her felt this couple to be particularly special. Not to mention the fact that she had had to very harshly tell Ryan a while back that Cat was mad about him and for him to do something about it.
As she sat back down, Patrick reached out and gave her hand a light squeeze before discreetly wiping the few tears from her cheeks, pulling his hat down a little farther over his eyes to hide the moisture in his own eyes. He wrapped an arm around her, and took her hand with his other.
“Alright, The Best Man can't have the Maid of Honor outdo him in a speech, now can he? Well, what is there to say? For starters, the start of Ryan's and my friendship is ancient history. We've been friends since early childhood, and have done a lot of things together along the way. If you want to see one of our achievements, look up our band on Wikipedia.”
Becca shook her head, laughing lightly at Spencer’s own attempts at his speech, only to be interrupted by Brendon. Honestly, Brendon could be such a diva sometimes. “Hey, don't hog the credit, don't forget about me being there on that great endeavor.” He gave Spencer a smile and motioned for him to continue.
As Spencer gave Brendon a smile as he sat down, Becca managed to keep from giggling by biting down on her bottom lip. After all, it was still a secret, and she wouldn’t reveal it without their admitting first.
“Okay, I spent last night memorizing this speech that I had written up, but I think I'm going with a new route with the speech, bear with me, alright?” The threat of giggles was nothing when Spencer winked at Brendon, causing the vocalist to choke on his food, which Brendon was almost as bad as Pete about eating constantly.
“So, as Rebecca stated, the two did meet with an odd twist of fate. Fate works in many ways, that's for sure. The staff member and the guitarist had a happy ending, as tonight is the eve of their wedding. Though, whatever did become of that poor vocalist who had been knocked out, only to regain consciousness, challenging the crowd with a line that can also be looked up, if you ever feel like it. He insisted that the concert kept going as it seemed like the thing to do. He's a good man, Brendon... Brendon? Care to stand up?”
Becca giggled at the confused look on Brendon’s face as he stood up, leaning in to whisper something into Spencer’s ear, only meriting a smile from Spencer before he turned back to the crowd continuing with his speech.
“I know he's looking at me like I'm some lunatic, but don't worry, I have a point. We are all gathered here to celebrate the union of Cat and Ryan, but also we ought to consider this a moment to recognize other distinguished couples who are either newly married, soon to be married, and ones that ought to be married already. April and Gabe, I congratulate you on your marriage, and also the best of luck with the new baby. Beckanne and Patrick? I hope that your lives together have much fulfillment for time to come. Pete and Ivy? For the love of god get married sometime this century.”
Becca laughed at Spencer’s words to all the couples, giving him a bright smile at his own well-wishes for her and Patrick. Although the best was his advice to Pete and Ivy, she had to admit. Although when he took Brendon’s hand, Becca raised an eyebrow. Well this was certainly an interesting turn of events.
“Who would have thought, that the vocalist who made things happen between the future newlyweds would completely change the life of someone for the better? I'm thankful for those who kept silent about this, though, I think it's time that we come forward with a truth...”
At this, Spencer trailed off before pulling Brendon into a kiss right in front of the entire room. Becca giggled into her hand, having known about the relationship since the very beginning, but knowing that some people, including the vast majority of Cat’s family would find it offensive. And at the loud noise from their area, Becca knew that they had fainted. She turned to Patrick who had been chuckling to himself before leaning over to whisper in her ear.
“Only Spencer would pull something like that. ... Well, on second thought, Brendon would do that too. So perfect. But apparently Cat’s family aren’t that happy.”
“That would be an understatement. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cat’s mom didn’t die from the sight. But then again, she’s always been a little too uptight.”
“Um, is there a doctor in the house? I think we need some smelling salts over there.”
Becca giggled at Brendon’s comment as they boys broke apart with grins on their faces.
“Oh my fucking god, I really did see them making out!”
Becca turned and laughed hysterically at the horrified look on her brother’s face. Although she laughed even harder, if possible at the smirk on Brendon’s face.
“Yeah, next time we'll leave a do not disturb sign around the bathroom.”
She giggled as she noticed Pete looking both disgusted and amused at the revelation, although soon enough, Brendon managed to get Spencer’s attention back on the manner of the speech he had interrupted by the little revelation and kiss.
“I can only hope that all in this room can find the pure and unconditional love that Ry and Cat share, because I have a distinct feeling that I have already reached that point. To Cat and Ryan, may they have much happiness in the distant future. Oh and by the way, tomorrow ... if the car's a rockin' don't come a knockin' else you might catch a glimpse of something you might not want to see.”
Becca raised her glass at Spencer’s toast, laughing again at the comments directed to her brother. She turned as she noticed Ryan standing up to say whatever he was planning on. Although from the grin on his face, it looked like it would be something amusing, or at the very least it looked like he was about to burst out laughing again.
“Okay Spence, only you would wait until my wedding rehersal dinner to come out of the closet. Though, I speak for every person in the room, when I say...It's about damn time!”
“Hey! So, Brendon's the girl in this relationship, right?”
Becca shook her head laughing at Jon’s question. Although it looked like the boys were a little either miffed or trying to figure it out themselves.
“Hey! I resent that...." Spencer laughed, winking. "Oh no Jon, you'll find that we change roles for time to time, like that one time in the recording stu-"
"Okaaaay Spence, I don't think they want to hear that one.”
Becca giggled as Brendon cut Spencer off in what would probably have ended up being a rather interesting / amusing tale, but probably would have caused several more of Cat’s family to faint again. She grinned as Ryan spoke up.
“Okay, I don't think that much people will stand for more speeches, I'm done.”
“Oh and Becca, that speech was beautiful. Though, if you saw me dabbing my eyes, bloody allergies...”
Becca giggled at Cat sticking her tongue out playfully at her, returning the gesture almost instantly. Although from the huff in the direction of Cat’s mother, apparently the gesture wasn’t considered to be the best of ideas. But then again, it was almost second nature between the two of them to do such things.
“Catrianna! For the love of God! You'll be married tomorrow, need you act so childish?”
“Mum, they say that you've found the perfect one when they take you for who you are as a person. If you think that I act childish, you ought to see Ryan from time to time. What I'm trying to say, is that we both have long accepted our personalities. As long as I have Ryan by my side, I'm not afraid to let the kid in me out every so often.”
“Trust me, that kid is crazy, but you got to love her. But yeah, I think we ought to wrap this up, as tomorrow is a big day for us all. Thank you for coming and good night!”
Becca gave Patrick a quick kiss on the cheek and told him she would be right back after Ryan thanked everyone and in essence dismissed everyone. She rushed over with Cat, grinning as Cat threw her arms around her in a tight hug.
“Thank you for those words Becca, you are truly the best friend a girl could have.”
She grinned and gave a mock bow. Of course she would have said such things for Cat, after all, they were best friends. And Becca was always a stickler for family and friends.
“I know, I'm the best, right?”
Although something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention as she turned back to Cat. It looked like Viviana was leaving, but only having been stopped by none other than Bill. And from the looks of things, they were good friends already, and more.
“Beckanne, is there something we ought to know about those two?”
Becca giggled and shrugged, having been thinking the same thing. Who knows, perhaps things for those two would work out. After all, it couldn’t hurt either of them to find someone to have a little love and fun with. She grinned as she caught a bit of a blush on Viv’s cheeks as she turned and went out with Bill.
“Yeah, it looks like there’s something there.”
“Why do I get the feeling you two are gossiping and plotting with Viv and Bill?”
Becca jumped as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist, only to smile when she felt a light kiss on her neck and saw that it was Patrick, having come over from finishing whatever he had needed to talk with her mother about. She grinned and gave Patrick an innocent flutter of eyelashes.
“What would make you think that, Patrick?”
Patrick laughed as he saw the innocent ploy of Becca’s. It never worked, unless she was trying to get him to be even more infatuated with her than before. Then it was a complete success. He shook his head, still chuckling a little as it seemed Cat tried to give as innocent of a look as she could as well.
“Let it just suffice to say that I know you two lovely ladies rather well. One being a good friend, and one of whom I’m going to kidnap and have my way with. Rather roguishly of course.”
Becca giggled at Patrick’s attempts at sounding threatening, especially with the smirk on his face that she guessed was telling that he wasn’t being entirely false. She playfully popped his hand before sliding out of his arms with a smirk.
“Oh no you shan’t, Mr. Stumph! I shall swoon from the mere mention of such.” She rushed around behind Cat with a squeal. “Cat, hide me!”
“Oh no you don’t! You two lovers can just wait until later to play those games. I am trying to hold a sensible conversation!”
Becca and Patrick both laughed at Cat’s playfully indignant huff. Becca grinned and gave Cat a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek before walking back around to stand beside Patrick, playfully wary of him.
“Rebecca, can you come help me carry out this food?”
Becca turned and saw where the question had come from and smiled, seeing her mom loading up the excess food to take back to their house to feed the girls while they were in exile from the boys. She excused herself before rushing over to help her mom, a bright smile on her face at the idea that tomorrow would be Ryan and Cat’s wedding.

A/N #2: And just for the record, a big and resounding yes to your question, Sally. Plus I just couldn't help writing about such a *insert string of fluffy compliments here* guy as Patrick. Plus ... yeah. And my roommate [Ivy] probably would have killed me in my sleep if I had wrote a Pete fic that wasn't for her. :-P
