Ready set BLOW

Milee felt like and entire swarm of butterflies had descended en-masse in her stomach. To cover up she tried to act normal. "So tell me about your mother, twenty words or less. The things you think describe her best." She said, grinning when she took a quick turn. Gerard gripped the door handle for a second before answering. "She like to garden. Likes birds, and rain. Favorite color is green and she hates rock music." Milee smiled at him. "Wow sixteen words. Bravo. Okay so...hmm. Birds, gardens, rain..." Milee thought for a minute and then, "I've got it." She made a left turn and gunned the engine. Loving the way the car leapt to life at the slightest touch of her toes to the metal. Gerard seemed like he was going to make finger indentations in the seat leather. "Am I driving to fast for you?" she asked sweetly. Gerard swallowed and said seriously. "Nope, just wondering which car booster taught you how to drive." Milee returned the serious tone with a smile. "The best London had to offer." Gerard swallowed. "You lived in London?" Milee nodded. "As a little girl." Milee whipped out her cell phone and dialed a number. "Hey Bert, it's Milee. you busy?...good, I'm headed your way, fire up the kiln and get ready to blow." Milee winked saucily at Gerard. talked for a little while longer before hanging up the phone.

Gerard noticed the houses becoming few and far between. "So where are we going?" Milee inwardly was laughing her butt off at his slightly worried tone. "A friend of mine blows glass. He's got a studio out here. When was the last time you made your mom a present?" Gerard thought back. "Third grade. Pasta necklace." Milee snorted. "Uh hu." She whipped the car onto a dirt drive and they dissapeared into a grove of orange trees. There was a white Victorian house with a red barn looming up ahead and a little tin shed off to the side. When Milee turned off the engine and got out Gerard sighed in relief. Never letting that woman behind the wheel again. He thought. A black and white akita came bounding out of nowhere. "Maximus!" Milee growled playfully and bent down to hug the dog. "Hey Robert! Get your berkinstock wearing butt out here." Gerard smiled easily when a tall lanky man poked his head out of the tin shed. "Hey Milee, looking good." He looked like your typical hippie, and sure enough he was wearing berkinstocks and shorts on a fifty degree day. "Ready?" He asked. Milee looked at Gerard. "Hope so. Gerard this is Rob, he's going to help you make your mom a hand blown, by you, bird feeder."
