Rock of Ages, Forever Pt75
Joe slowly came awake form the pounding coming from some where. He looked over at the clock. “Jeez can they start any earlier?” He pulled his pillow over his head, at the same time, Rebecca put her arm around his waist. Joe flung the pillow down and looked over at her. “Rebecca what are you doing here? “
“We sleep together remember.” She replied sleepily, throwing her leg over his.
“But you’re…uh....you’re naked.”
“So are you. Now go answer the door before it wakes the baby.”
Joe now knew what the pounding was. “Whoever the hell is knocking at the door this time of morning, better have a damn good excuse.” he grumbled. Joe shoved his legs in his jeans and hurried to the door. Grabbing the knob he flung it open. “What the hell do yo…” Joe yelled.
Sav almost stumbled to the floor when the door opened. Regaining his balance, he flew behind the door and slammed it, yanking it out of Joe’s hand. He quickly covered his face. “The curtains!” he yelled.
Joe ran over and tugged the curtains closed on all the windows. Sav was still standing behind the door, holding his arm to his chest, his face lined with pain. Joe went over to him, he could now see the angry red welts on his face. He reached over and flipped on the lamp. Sav quickly turned his head from the glare. Joe eyes went to his arm, it to was badly burned.
“Oh shit.” He exclaimed. Going into the kitchen he grabbed a towel and wet it down with cool water, returning to Sav who hadn’t moved. Joe eased his other hand away and gently lay the towel over the burns. Sav sucked in a deep breath and meet his eyes. They were amber, fangs glittered in the dim light. Joe was startled at first, it had been a while since Joe had seen him that way.
“Do you need this?” Joe’s words were soft as he held up his arm for him.
”No.” Came his gruff reply. “I’ll be fine.” Sav slipped down the wall a little.
Taking his arm, Joe lead him to the couch.
“Just take me upstairs to the guest room.”
“Ok.” Putting Sav’s arm over his shoulder Joe headed for the room. Dropping him on the bed, Joe looked down at him, he was out cold.
“Must be nice to be able to go to sleep that fast.” Joe said aloud. Rolling his eyes, he realized the only time Sav fell asleep that fast, was when he was injured.
He tugged off Sav’s shoes, gently easing off his shirt over the burn marks, then pulled him further on the bed. Pulling a blanket over him, Joe brushed back the hair that had fallen over the burn on his face. Turning away from the bed, he left the room, locking the door behind him.
He rejoined Rebecca back in bed. She mumbled about who was at the door, he told her it was Sav. He would have mentioned that he was hurt, but he didn’t think she would have heard him.
***
“Is this going to be a one time affair?” Joe asked Rebecca as she sat their plates on the table.
“I wouldn’t call it an affair.”
“Then what would you call it? I never had any intention of sleeping with you.”
“You can thank Sav for that. After all, he was the one that called and got the ball rolling, and frankly, I wanted to. To many things were left unsaid between us when I left.
“You can put me at fault there. I was so consumed with finding Sav to even notice that our relationship was suffering.”
“I don’t blame you for that. Not even when he did show up and you were total obsessed with taking care of him, even after you found out what he was.”
Joe pushed his scrambled eggs around on his plate, “I knew that before he left and it still amazes me that he would do that.”
“I didn’t know him all that well before, but I can see the attraction for becoming one.”
“Did you sleep with him?” Joe asked before he could stop the question.
Rebecca watched him a moment before she answered. “Yes.”
Joe popped his brow at her.
"But, "Rebecca began after seeing the hurtful expression in his eyes. "Not in that way. It was more for comfort on his part. We would sit up all nigh talking, well he did most of it. When the sun rose, I held him as he went to sleep."
“How often did he come here?”
“Oh I don’t know, every couple months. He would stay a couple of days and head back over there.”
“I never knew about it. Why didn’t you call me? Why didn’t he tell me he was coming here to see you?”
“He wasn’t coming here to see me, it was Amber he came to see.”
“I should have been here for her.” Joe said softly.
“You were Joe, in a way. Sav would spend hours with her, playing and talking about you. He wanted her to know who her father is.”
“I can only image what he said.” Joe chuckled.
Rebecca was silent for a few minutes trying to find the right words to say. Finally she just came right out and said it. “I know how he feels about you, even before you told me about the night he tried to bring you across.”
“He what?” Joe said angrily.
“Don’t be angry. He was emotionally drained, he may be a vampire, but he still has feeling that can be hurt. The second time he came here he lost it, just….”
Joe looked at her with alarm. “Lost it!”
“Not that way. We spent the entire night talking, he told me everything. He must have had a bad week before he came here. I haven’t seen to many grown men cry before or show the compassion in his voice when he talked about you and the band, even about Nick.”
“Did he tell you why he stay’s with Nick, because he sure as hell won’t tell me?”
”Nick has something that he can’t get anywhere else. He can be himself with Nick and not worry about hurting him the way he would you. Sav does harbor some love for him.”
“How can he after everything Nick has put him through, it doesn’t make sense?”
“I don’t understand that myself and neither does he.”
“Why did he find it so easy to talk to you and not to one of us?”
“I wasn’t as heavily involved like you and the others. And I respect him for his honesty in telling me about it.”
“Now you have some kind of idea what’s its been like.”
“More than I did before, but don’t hold it against him Joe. He really is trying to make everyone around him happy and he tends to forget about himself.”
“He never talks to any of us about his wants, needs, and certainly not about his emotions.” Joe commented.
“No, I think your wrong there. You know what he wants, you know him better than anyone, even Nick. Just give him a little more time Joe, he’s had a lot to deal with.”
“And jumping right in and getting the album done didn’t help.”
“No, personally I don’t think it did. His life was turned upside down from the choice he made, but he wouldn’t go back and change it.”
“But if he hates it so much, why wouldn’t he want to go back and change it?”
“He doesn’t hate it, he enjoys it actually. From what I can gather, the only thing he hates is the time he spent with Nick in that house and the rest…..”
“It’s nice to know that he has you to talk to. He just won’t do it with me anymore, although I have tried so many times.”
“Maybe it’s because you’re to close to the situation, and you hate Nick so much.”
“I never said I hated him.”
“But you have implied it Joe.”
“I…well….maybe….” Joe sighed in frustration. “Just what he’s doing to Sav, no one should have to go through that.”
“All you can do, is be there for him.” Rebecca said.
“I’ve always been there for him.” Joe replied softly, looking down at his hands.

They were sitting in the living talking quietly and watching Amber play on the floor, no one heard Sav come downstairs. He stayed in the shadows, watching them as they talked about him. He listened to some of it before turning his attention to Amber. Moving out of the shadows, Sav squatted down and softly spoke her name. “Amber.”
She looked up, her face light up with delight, jumping up, she ran over to him squealing. “Unc Av, Unc Av.”
Sav picked her up and twirled around with her. Amber threw her arms around his neck and squeezed tight.
“How’s my pumpkin?” his voice was soft in a tone Joe hadn’t heard before, even the expression on his face was different. It seemed relaxed and almost….happy. Joe thought to himself watching him holding Amber.
Amber pulled back from him and poked his lip. Sav opened his mouth to show his fangs. Amber giggled and hugged him again.
Rebecca got up and went over to them. “She gets you every time about that.”
“Yes she does.” Sav told her and kissed her cheek. “Hey beautiful, how are you?”
“I’m fine, never been better.”
Amber spun around in his arm and pointed at Joe. “Dadee.”
“Yes pumpkin, that’s Daddy. I told you he would come didn’t I.”
She poked his lip again and Sav once again showed his fangs, they both laughed this time.
“Why didn’t you use your key this morning Sav?” Rebecca asked him.
“I was in such a hurry to leave Melbourne, I forgot it.”
“Melbourne.” Joe finally spoke up.
“Yeah at our house there, well actually it’s more of a bungalow more than…”
“Our house?” Joe frowned.
“Mine and Nick’s.”
“Oh.” Joe figured that his features would cloud over at the mention of Nick, but they didn’t. He was to busy watching Amber go through his pockets looking for some thing. When she found it she pulled it out.
“U oh, you found it.” Sav said and laughed.
“Rick, you spoil her to much.” Rebecca scolded him.
“And I enjoy doing it.”
Amber wiggled to get down. He sat her down on the floor and she ran over to Joe to show him what her Uncle Sav had brought her.
Sav watched Joe fumble with the clasp on the bracelet.
“You are all thumbs there old man.” he said teasingly.
“Funny Sav.” Joe said. “Isn’t this a little small for her?” he had noticed all the little charms dangle from it. "She'll put these in her mouth and choke."
“She’s never been one to put things in her mouth.” Rebecca told him when she looked closer at it. “Sav this is beautiful.”
“For a beautiful little girl.” he commented.
“I better watch out,” Joe started. “She likes you better than me.”
Rebecca saw Sav’s face drop from him words. “No she’s doesn’t Joe, she knows who he daddy is and loves you more.”
“I didn’t bring her anything when I came.” Joe reminded her.
“And she wasn’t expecting it.” Sav pointed out. “She greeted you with just as much enthusiasm.”
Joe chuckled at the memory. “Yeah, I guess she did.”
Amber climbed down from Joe’s lap and went back over to Sav, holding up her arms for him to pick her back up. He noticed the chain peeking out from under her shirt and pulled it out, his features did cloud over this time. “Where did she get this?” he asked.
Joe and Rebecca exchanged glances.
“Nick gave it to her.” Joe finally told him.
“Nick was here?” The anger in his voice was unmistakable.
“A couple of days ago.”
“I don’t want him around Amber.” Sav told them. “Joe, you shouldn’t have let him in.”
“I didn’t see as I had much of a choice in the matter, Sav.”
“You could have asked him to leave.”
“You know he wouldn’t have listened to me.” Joe shot back. Getting up he went over and poured himself another drink.
“Pumpkin, why don’t you go play in your room.” Sav told Amber. He sat her on the floor and swatted her butt, she took off
toward her room. Sav slowly made his way over to where Joe was. “You should have demanded that he leave.”
“Why, so he could threaten me, or better yet, threaten to take Amber.”
Before Joe realized what hit him, Sav punched him in the face. Joe was knocked on his ass, dropping the glass he was holding.
“Sav!” Rebecca yelled and went over to Joe.
Joe wiped the blood from his lip and glared up at him.
“I don’t want him any where near Amber, ever again.” Sav growled.
“Then you tell him.” Rebecca said as she helped Joe up. “He gave us both one, said it would protect us from those of your kind, that would want to see us killed because we know about you.”
“You do not need or want his protection!” Sav yelled.
“Who else is going to do it? You?” Rebecca said softly. “You can’t be here all the time Sav and by wearing these, we will be safe when you are not here.”
Sav looked over at Joe. His rage quickly drained when he saw the look on his face and the blood that dripped from his lip. The sweetness of it assaulted his scenes, his breath caught in his throat. It has been to long since he had tasted him and it took every once of will power that he had, not to go over and lick it from his lip.
“Shit.” Growling deep in his throat, Sav spun around and stormed from the room.
Joe felt his rage at finding out that Nick had been here. Then his complete, utter desire at the site of his blood. His own anger quickly subsided at the memories of Sav taking him. The sensation of it made him tingle all over. Joe knew what he had to do, he wanted it just as much as Sav did.
“Rebecca give us a few minutes alone.” Joe told her softly.
“Are you sure?” she replied.
“Yes.”
Rebecca knew the sound of those words, they were filled with raw passion, she had heard them too many times before.
Joe went into the kitchen, Sav was standing by the window, looking at the brightly lit city below. Joe approached him slowly, stopping next to him as close as he dared.
“Rick.” Joe whispered. “I’m sorry. You’re right, I shouldn’t have let him in here.”
“I would never let anything happen to them Joe.”
“I know.”
“I know Amber is your daughter, but she is the child I will never have. Call me over protective I guess, but I do love her very much. I would die to keep her safe from any one.” Sav told him. “Just as I would you.”
Joe reached up and moved his hair away from his face. Sav closed his eyes at his touch. He could hear Joe’s heart beating rapidly, as he ran his fingers lightly down his neck and across his shoulder.
“Don’t.” Sav whispered.
Joe moved in behind him, his body barely touching him. Moving his hair further away from his neck, he leaned forward, his hot breath sending shivers through Sav. His soft lips brushing against the sensitive vein on his neck. Joe lightly nipped him with his teeth.
“But I want to.” Joe whispered, his tongue flicked across Sav’s neck to the sensitive place he knew would drive him over the edge. Joe sucked softly of that place, releasing him, he whispered. “It’s been a long time since you have taken me Rick, and I want you too.” Joe could feel him trembling from his touch, words he softly spoke to him, the desire in his voice of wanting this. Joe slowly turned him around, without hesitation, he kissed him. His tongue brushed against Sav’s lip wanting access to the sweet copper taste of him. Sav opened to him, Joe moaned softly as their tongues met briefly.
Sav jerked his head back. “I can’t.” he said breathing heavily, pushing away.
Joe pulled him back. “Yes you can, I want you to, I want to feel that again.” he captured his lips again, more demanding, his own arousal taking the lead. He pulled Sav deeper into his mouth. All his resolve gone, Sav turned him and pushed him against the wall, he broke away from Joe’s mouth and devoured his neck. Joe turned his head to give him better access. Sav’s growl was more of a purr, deep in his throat.
“Are you sure you want this?” Sav whispered against his skin.
“Yes, I want to.”
Sav lightly kissed him again, forcing himself to slow down and not take it too fast. Joe ran his tongue over Sav’s fangs and was rewarded with a soft moan from him. Leaving his mouth again, Sav quickly went to his throat. His arm snaked around to Joe’s back and pulled him closer. He slowly, sensually licked the vein, Joe sighed with pleasure at the feel of his cold tongue on his heated skin. Ever so slowly Sav sank his fangs into the waiting blood that has plague his dreams, its heat gushed across his tongue, into his body to warm him, he could taste the desire Joe had for him.
“Mmm...” Joe breathed into his ear.
Sav went further in depths of Joe’s vein, he sucked harder, greedily taking what he craved. Joe dove his hand into his hair, as his whole body tingled with need to reach that plan that only Sav could take him too. Once there, the intensity of it blew him away. Joe cried out in pleasure, his body trembled, his arms tightened around Sav when he felt his fangs go even deeper. Joe ground his hips against him, he remembered the last time that Sav had done this to him.
“Aahhh….shit.” Joe growled as he tumbled over the edge, his body racked with an orgasm that was completely different from that first time.
He heard Sav moan against his passion as he took in Joe’s desire. Sav had to force himself to stop, leaving his fangs buried deep in Joe’s hot flesh, he squeezed his hand between them and rubbed the front of his jeans, feeling of the large bulge there. Sav quickly ripped the snap and broke the zipper he dove his hand inside, gripping Joe’s hot throbbing cock, he jerked into Sav when he moved his hand on him, dug his fingers into his back when Sav started his slow suction on his neck again.
Joe moved against him. Pulling the shirt from Sav’s shoulder, he brought his head down and bit into his flesh with such force that it brought blood to the surface as another orgasm slammed into him. He tasted Sav’s blood in his mouth and was not repulsed from it, it only drove him harder against his need.
Sav felt him coming down and slowly pulled his fangs out, licking every drop of blood away. Removing his hand from between them, he reached over and jerked the curtains from the window. Pulling back he kissed Joe deeply. Tasting his own blood in his mouth. Sav stepped back and wiped the front of Joe and then himself.
Joe's breathing was raw and ragged as he calmed down, opening his eyes he looked at Sav, who was also trying to catch his breath. “What the fuck was that?” he rasped out.
Sav glanced up to him and stepped closer, pressing his body against him, he captured his lips again. Pulling away he whispered against Joe lips. “Another form of vampire sex.”
“Holy shit, you’ve never done it that way before.”
“I know, I didn’t think you where ready for it.” Sav told him.
Joe ran his hand through his hair and straightened his jeans. He stepped away from the wall and unsteadily made his way over to the table and sat down.
Sav retrieved a glass from the cabinet and poured some juice in it and gave it to Joe. “Drink this.”
Joe noticed his ripped shirt and the bit mark on his shoulder.
“I didn’t mean to do that.” he said sheepishly, pointing at the mark.
Sav looked at the angry red marks and bruise that were quickly fading. “Oh that, don’t worry about it, it didn’t hurt at all.” Sav smiled at him. Grabbing his own drink, he sat at the table with him.
Silence filled the room between them as Joe grasped what had just happened. “Thank you for sharing that with me Sav.” Joe told him.
He only shrugged his shoulder. “I didn’t intend to take it that far. It was just the way you said my name. It does something to me, I don’t know what, but it does.”
“Well remind me next time not to.”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done….”
Joe reached over and grabbed his hand on impulse. “Sorry, don’t ever feel sorry about this, it was incredible. I’ve never felt any thing like it.”
“Now you understand why I stay with Nick.” Sav told him.
“Yes I can. But, you don’t have to anymore.” Joe said seriously.
“What do you mean?” Sav asked looking at him.
“Well….after what just happened you could…..”
“It’s not the same.” se said softly, dropping his eyes to his glass.
“Now I’m lost.”
“There’s more involved than what we just did.”
“How could there possible more than that?” Sav shot him a glare.
“Oh.” Joe said, blushing a bit.
“And I didn’t get off on it as much as I would have like too.”
“You didn’t.” Joe partially yelled.
“I didn’t mean it that way,” Sav said hurriedly. “I did, but just in a different way. I was aiming to please you, not myself. I wanted you to feel just a glimpse of what happens when I’m with him. The way I choose to do it, was the only way without taking it further than that.”
Joe felt the heat rush through his body at the mere thought of what else could be involved in the aspect of what Sav was telling him.
“You're blushing Joe.” he smiled.
Joe cleared his throat. “Well…I don’t know what else to say.”
“No regrets?”
“No, I came to you remember.”
“With completely different intentions.” Sav replied.
“Sav look at me. I have no regrets what so ever about it. I’m glad you shared that with me. And besides….” Joe shrugged his shoulder. “I would do it again, only the next time you get more out of it.”
Sav didn’t know what to say to that. He knew what his words meant and the smoldering look just beneath the surface of his eyes.
“Are you boys ok in here?” Rebecca asked when she came in. Making herself a cup of coffee, she joined them at the table. “That’s nice shade of pink Joe.” Rebecca commented.
Joe shifted nervously in his chair. “Yea, well….it was ho…”
“Is Amber asleep?” Sav asked her, getting Joe off the hook trying to explain himself.
“Yes she is, I laid her down a short time ago.”
“That is one little girl that can tug at your heart.” Sav remarked with a smile.
“Don’t I know it.” Joe put in.
“Rebecca, you have to come back to Holland with us.” Sav said all of a sudden.
“Holland. I don’t know about that.”
“I thought you didn’t want her around Nick.” Joe commented.
Sav shrugged his shoulder. “Maybe I was to hasty in saying that.”
“Why not?” Joe started. “I’m sure the others would like to meet the new addition to the Lep camp.”
“They’re going to love her.” Sav laughed.
“What about Nick?” Joe asked.
“What about him.”
“What would he think if she came back with us?”
“I don’t care what he thinks. My life doesn’t evolve around him as much as he would like for it too.”
“I think that last fight the two of you had woke him to that fact.” Joe said.
“Maybe it did. You’ll think about it Rebecca?” Sav asked turning to her.
“Yes I will.” She replied smiling at him.
“I’m going for a walk and enjoy the cool mountain breeze.” Sav said and downed the rest of his drink.
After he left, Joe glanced over at Rebecca. “You know, I haven’t seen him this relaxed in awhile.”
“He was always so tense when he came here, but just one look at Amber and you can literally see it melt away.” Rebecca told him.
“He was under a lot of pressure. I always thought he was going out and getting his jollies from somewhere. We figured that when he gets that way, it was time for some fresh blood, but he would never come to one of us. I never knew he was coming here.”
“He never killed anyone here. Not to my knowledge anyway.”
“He wouldn’t tell you even if he did.” Joe chuckled. “I know he does it, but we never talk about it.”
“Joe, I’ve been thinking.” Rebecca started. “I want to get back to where we were before, before all of this started.”
“You do.” Joe said with surprise.
“I never stopped loving you. I was afraid at first, after I found out about what Sav was, not just for myself, but our unborn child, that’s why I left. And now I’ve gotten to know him, he is no threat what so ever to Amber or myself.”
“He’s not always like this, he can get violent at times, especial when Nick taunts him and then he flies off the handle. We’ve all learned to just get out of his way when that happens.”
“I think if he was around Amber more he wouldn’t be that way.”
“You don’t know how persistent Nick is either.”
“Maybe it’ll help him too.” Rebecca said.
“The only thing that will help Nick, is being staked out in the sun.”
“Joe, that’s not nice.” Rebecca said quickly, smacking his arm.
“Sorry.” Joe said sheepishly. “I don’t know if this a good time to try and rekindle our relationship, with the tour coming up and all. It will be hard to try and spend time together.”
“I’ve always wanted to travel the world.”
“It’s hard, think you can keep it up for months on end?”
”It’s going to be a challenge, but one that I will enjoy.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“If it means being with you and you getting to know your daughter. Yes, I want to very much.” Rebecca told him.
A smile spread across his lips. “I’d like that.”
“So, I guess that means we're going to Holland.”
Joe told her some of what to expect while on the road and tried to answer all of her question the best he could. Some nights he would be to exhausted to spend time with her and Amber, other night’s, he would want to go out and have fun. She couldn’t get jealousy when he was bombarded by female fans trying everything they could to get him to their rooms. She told him as long as it was her that was in his bed at night she could handle it.
Finally feigning off a yawn Joe said he was going to bed. His activities with Sav earlier and talking with Rebecca had him exhausted. Rebecca said she would be up shortly, she wanted to check on Amber. Joe climbed in bed and sighed deeply, the sheets were cool on his skin, the bed felt good on his tried body. Rebecca came into the room and slipped into her night gown, crawling in beside Joe, she scooted up close to him and wrapped her arm around him. Joe took her hand to kiss the back and held it to his chest.
