Comfortable

"Patrice" John said the second he got to the ICU, "I need to you to cancel the show, Call this number, ask for Sarah and ger her on the next flight here, and I need someone to go pick Erika up and bring her here"

"Okay" Patrice said, nodding her head.

"I'll go get her John, You stay here in case anything chages" Adam offered standing up.

"Wait" John called after Patrice "What about her parents, did anyone call Skylar's parents?"

"The cops tried several times" Nick said, butting in "No answer"

"keep trying" John said urgently.

John headed to Skyar's room in the ICU. She looked so peaceful there, as if she were only sleeping.

"You can talk to her you know" said a voice from behind John. "Hi, I'm Dr. Walters"

"Nice to meet you Doctor I'm John" John said standing up to shake the Dr's hand. "is she going to be okay?"

"Well, as of now her brain activity is low" The Doctor began, looking at his chart "But there is some activity there, SKylar is a young, healthy girl I'm sure she'll pull through this just fine"

"Thank you Doctor" John said sitting down next to Skylar's bed.

"Many people say the comatose patients can hear you, try speaking to her, every little bit helps" The doctor signed off on her chart and then left John alone in the room.

John took Skylar's hand and kissed it. "Hey there beautiful" he said brushing the hair out of her face. "You have no idea how much I've missed you these past years, I thought about you all the time. I even wrote a song about you, Did you know that? You were in my mind non-stop and I thought if I just wrote you off into a song you would disappear, but you didn't. I'll sing it for you, If I sing it for you, will you wake up?"

John wiped the tears from his eyes and moved in closer to Skylar.

Patrice stopped at the door, listening to John sing to Skylar. His voice was shaky and she cold hear the sadness in it.

"I didn't want to interrupt" she said stepping through the doorway "But Erika and Adam are back, and Sarah's flight gets in at 8"

"Thanks Patrice" he said, still clutching to Skylar's hand.

Patrice nodded and walked out of the room. She headed back into the lobby where Erika and Adam had just arrived.

"Nick?" Erika said, surprised "What are you doing here"

"Long story" Nick answered, rubbing his forehead.

Erika stared hard at him and then looked over at Patrice. "Ahh" she said smiling "Take a walk with me Nick"

Nick sighed and thought "Oh shit" but got up to follow her.

Once they were far from the others Erika slipped the ring off her finger and kissed Nick on the cheek. "You're off the hook" she said.

"What?" Nick said, confused.

"You're off the hook" she said handing him the ring "We're bettr friends Nick, You don't love me and I dont love you, at least not romantically. You don't think I see the way you look at Patrice whenever she is in the room? I do, and its okay. I'll alwasy love you, and I want us to stay friends"

Nick smiled and put the ring back into Erika's hand "Keep it" he said "I got it with you in mind"

Erika hugged Nick and pinched his cheek "Go get her Tiger" she said laughing.

They walked back to the waiting area together and Erika watched as Nick led Patrice to another room.

"SO its just us" she said sitting down next to Adam

"I'm not complaining" Adam said smiling at her

"Me neither" Erika answered.

Sarah was hysterical as she ran throught the hospital doors. "Where is ICU?" she said out of breathe to the receptionist.

"Upstairs and to the left" the lady answered point to the stairs.

Sarah thanked her and ran up the stairs so fast she almost tripped several times.

She stubbled into a waiting area where several faces she recognized from TV were sitting. "I'm looking for.."

"Skylar is in room 105" Erika said pointing around the corner "Are you Sarah?"

"Yes" Sarah answered, biting her lip

"John's waiting for you in there" she said

"Thank you!" Sarah said heading off quickly towards Skylar's room.

"JOHN!" she said as she stepped in the room

"Sarah, Thank God" he siad standing up to greet her

"Oh my God!" Sarah said in tears after seeing Skylar. She sat down in a chair next to John and laid her head down on John's shoulder.

"We can't lose her" John said, beginning to cry "I need her to survive"

Sarah wiped the tears from her eyes and hugged John tightly. In her arms he bagan to sob heavily. "Please God don't take her from me" he said looking up.
