Part Eight – Of Blood and Feathers
Kyo had his legs spread wide, and one of his hands was between them. He’s already caressed the seal burned into his flesh, and snarled when he’d felt over the intricate details seared forever to his inner thigh. Damn that violet and black haired animal! He now had the blonde marked like a herd creature. Kyo snarled softly to himself, baring fangs to an empty room. But only for a moment, he had to continue his investigation of the damage caused by the savage who had him captive, and he knew that tension could cause more pain. He forced himself to relax somewhat. His fingers had moved on to touch the outside of his hole softly, and he winced as the digits made contact with the tender, puckered surface. He’d been cleaned up, sometime while he was asleep, but the fact that he’d been torn had not been tended to. He narrowed his eyes. The Sidhe could have fixed that too. Kyo closed his eyes and turned on his side, balling up into fetal position once he’d changed how he was lying. He brought his hand away from his anus as he moved, curling his fingers against himself as he hung his head gently in shame. His body was aching, his hole was throbbing from the pain of the violation from earlier . . . and his messing with the raw pucker had not helped matters at all, of course. But he wasn’t thinking of that then. He was thinking of the one who had done these things to him. He balled up further and growled to himself. Knees to his chest, he wrapped his arms around his legs and pressed his face into his kneecaps, and grunted hisses into his own skin. How dare that Sidhe violate him? He was the Prince of the Dragons!
“Not anymore.” He whispered to himself, grunting into his kneecaps once more before he unfurled his body and sat up. The blonde’s tri-colored eyes peered around the room, the slit pupils contracted as he looked about him at his surroundings. He was in the first room of his personal prison, and of course the door to the false forest was locked, just as the door to freedom was. The three colors of his eyes molded together to form solid gold, which shimmered with molten wrath. His pupils dilated, and he growled low in his chest. On his hands and knees then, he crouched down further, splaying his fingers to hold himself up, his talons on full display though there was no one else there to see them at the moment. “Not anymore.” He whispered again, and he hissed loudly – letting the sound turn into a full on scream after a moment. The loud, shrieking noise reverberated through the room. A bone chilling mix of sounds, sounds that would make a chill run up a mortal’s back, or give weaker ones a death from fear. He hung his head once it was over, and he let out a choked sob of anger. His claws retracted so that he could ball up his fists, and he sat up on his knees, and then brought his knuckles down into a pillow beneath him, screaming that shrill scream again as he did so. He punched through the cushion, and then he let his claws unsheathe once more. He ripped the pillow in half, and as feathers flew from the ruined softness, he moved on to the next item of comfort, roaring as he shredded that one as well. He destroyed many more, and then he hopped up from the ground, using his force to land on the side of the cage, up near the top. Kyo looked down at the half-ruined contents of his cage, and he grinned, laughing to himself. He then brought the claws of his free hand across his chest – once, twice, three times, snarling as he did so. A pattern of torn flesh was created across the surface, and he moaned to feel the sting of his own natural weapons – a punishment on himself for enjoying what the Sidhe had done to him. He let go of the bar he was holding to keep himself where he’d landed in a crouch on the cage, and he flew down to the floor to continue his attack on the pillows . . . and soon – his cage was littered with feathers. . And blood.
The destruction of the cushions complete, he clawed his feeding area apart, using the table to hit at the bars of the cage before he threw it into the bathing area and watched the table sink to the bottom of it. He snickered again, and then he turned his attention to the daybed. He crouched down once more, and then hopped on top of it, his claws out already. Kyo sank his talons into the mattress, and he began to dig into the softness, pulling out feathers and throwing them around as he did so. In a matter of moments, he’d created a hole for himself to sit in, and once that was made, he seemed to calm. It was like a nest. A nest! He let out a shrill scream, and sobbed again, shaking his head. He didn’t want a nest! It was just another symbol of what he did not wish to be! He curled up inside of the hole though, and cried, balling up over himself as he mourned – feathers falling all around him. Some of the white fluff was still becoming stained with his blood, falling over his bowed body gently . . . sliding down his shoulders and back. He let out a few more heart stopping cries of anguish, then he sat up and started to shred his skin with his own claws once more. During this time, the door to the Sidhe’s room had come open, and a soft light accompanying a figure entered the room – but he did not notice it. He was too busy mourning in the floating feathers and the crimson of his life to realize he was no longer alone.
“Kyo.” The one word brought his attention away from his ill born practice, and he stopped clawing his skin open to look towards the bars. The voice had come from just outside there. Kyo let out a soft cry at who was standing there, just outside of his cage. He knew that pixie . . . but . . . “Kyo, come here.” The figure stated, voice soft and loving. There was sorrow in that voice as well, and Kyo hung his head as he moved from the hole in the daybed, crawling towards the side of the cage where the other pixie waited for him.
“I’m sorry . . .” He whispered, getting to the side of the bars. He was on his hands and knees, his chin tucked to his chest, his head bowed to the floor. He sobbed again, whispering his apology over and over, until he felt a gentle hand stroke his hair lightly. The other pixie had reached through the cage to touch him.
“Shhh . . . do not apologize to me, my Prince.” The one dressed in a red, fluffy gown whispered. His perfect blue eyes looked down upon the head of the bowed dragon. “You must calm down though, Kyo. You must. Do not make yourself weak because you believe yourself a prisoner. You are still you, aren’t you? And you are still strong. My strong, noble Kyo. Who is afraid of nothing . . .”
“Why is this happening to me?” Kyo asked, looking up at the lovely, feminine face of the other pixie, scanning over the well-known features. Yes, they were well known, even if he’d never seen them before.
“Because it must, my darling.” The one with the lovely blue eyes told him softly, moving his hand down to lift Kyo’s chin. He closed his eyes then, and he let out a soft sigh. When he opened them again, Kyo’s chest was healed, as if he’d never touched it with his talons. The cage was in order as well. None of the pillows were destroyed – the feeding area, the daybed, and the bathing area – everything was whole, as if they were only used for what they were meant for. “You must not let your pride get in the way, my Prince. And you must never let the Sidhe know that you are afraid of them.”
“I’m not afraid of them.” Kyo growled, and he moved his chin from the other’s touch. He heard the other pixie sigh softly, shake his head. Slowly, the blonde turned his face back to him, and looked up at the other’s face, admiring the beauty of the one visiting him.
“No. You’re not afraid of them.” The visitor whispered, smiling softly down at the other. Kyo bowed his head and looked away once more, feeling ashamed of himself for speaking to the other in such a manner. As if the other did not know what was in his head, and in his heart. . .
And then there was another figure in the room with them. The dark shadow stood in the doorway, watching the two pixies. Kaoru had returned, without Die and his new purchase. He’d gotten a few things made for his own pixie, and had wanted to give them to his Little One as soon as possible - hoping to gain his approval somehow with gifts.
“Shinya. What are you doing here?” The Prince of Blood and Darkness entered the room fully then, his eyes locked on the invading pixie, ignoring his prize for the moment. “Shouldn’t you be in your apartments, or with my Father?” He watched as the pixie he was speaking with bowed his head lightly, the long spiral curls bobbing as he moved. Kaoru smirked softly, his eyes not leaving the one who was his Father’s favorite concubine. This pixie was not his mother, of course. His mother had been full Sidhe. Kaoru was a pure blooded Prince.
“I apologize, Prince Kaoru. I saw your door open, and I scented this boy here. As a spiritual guide to my people, I thought it would be best if I came to see him. For all I know, he might have been in need of my presence.” He looked down at Kyo as he spoke, his eyes soft and loving. He then returned his gaze to Kaoru. “I remember him from the tribes. He is a very good choice for you, I’d dare say. One of our strongest. And a Prince as well. His name is Kyo, if he has not told you.” A little smirk curled Shinya’s lips as he spoke, watching the Sidhe Prince mouth the blonde’s name. He moved from the side of the cage, but not before Kyo could catch his wrist swiftly. Shinya looked back at him calmly. “Yes?” He voiced the question low, using the language of the dragons.
“Is Totchi alright?” Kyo asked, his own voice matching that of the other pixie’s in tone and the language. Both knew the Sidhe would not understand what they were saying. Worry was clear in his eyes – which had returned to being tri-colored once he’d calmed down.
“Of course. I saw him earlier. You should ask your Master about him though; he’ll have something important to tell you.” Shinya then switched into the common tongue after that last statement, and smiled at the pixie in the cage. “Now, I leave you with a blessing, my child.” Shinya pulled his wrist away from the one holding him, doing so gently. Kyo released him without further fight, and he bowed his head as the other pixie made a sign in the air. There was a soft, serene smile on Shinya’s face as he did so, and then he bid Kyo farewell. He passed by Kaoru with a slightly larger smile, and dipped into a light curtsy before he left the rooms of the Sidhe Prince.
