Chapter Eight
Logan sat on the couch in front of the big picture window and tried not to squirm under Orlando's intense stare. Finally unable to take the silence and the uncomfortable stare she said,
“I really appreciate this. This toxic mold is really bad apparently. I saw on Montell that you can die from this stuff and it's really harmful to pets. I don't have any pets but still...”
“Logan, I don't care about toxic mold. I am not gay. The only ground rule is no touching, kissing flirting....that can never happen again.” He told her. She felt a bit of a pain at the coldness of his words. She was nursing a pretty big crush on him but she understood his reasons, he was in denial, and she couldn't get involved with him anyway, once the film was over she was going to have to try to hide somewhere else.
“That's fine by me Orlando, you won't even know I'm here. I stay in my room a lot. I won't be bothering you at all. I promise.”
“You don't have to hide away. We both just need to be careful.” Orlando seemed to soften up.
“Okay..cool. We can share a cab in the mornings right?” Logan asked.
“May as well. We're going to the same place.”
“Cool.” Logan said and there was another uncomfortable pause while they just looked around the room desperately trying not to look at each other.
“So...I'll show you the spare room.” Orlando said standing up.
“Cool.” Logan repeated feeling very uncool. She followed him to the room, it was across the hall from his room, she knew because it was the only other room in suite, and followed him inside, trying to avoid looking at him and the bed.
“You have your own loo and shower.” He pointed and she nodded.
“Thanks again. Well I think I'll lay down for a while. See ya.” She tried to shoo him out the door and he stood there for a moment staring at her.
'Leave. Get out now before you do something stupid.' His inner voice was shouting at him but his feet wouldn't move and his eyes just would not look away from Logan. Something about Logan was bothering him. He seemed too edgy, jittery and very nervous.
“You can go now.” Logan said and it finally propelled him to leave the room, with a “Bye.” He went out to the living room and paced around. He couldn't believe he had Logan staying with him. It was probably the worst move he could have made. And as much as he denied it to Logan, Orlando knew that this would only end up bad. It was strange because he could easily picture holding Logan and kissing him, but he couldn't really picture himself bent over and getting fucked.
“Maybe I'm a top.” He said to himself and then groaned in frustration. “You aren't a top and you aren't gay!.” He growled at himself. But against his will and and better judgment the image of Logan on his knees, lips moist, hair tousled, leaning into to take Orlando into his mouth, sprang into his mind. Grabbing his wallet and keys he stormed out of the hotel room, deciding he needed a walk.
Logan flinched when the door slammed, it reminded her of the many times Chad would come home in a nasty mood, the slamming door being her only warning.
'This is a bad idea.' She said to herself but she had no where to go if she left. She had to stay with the film til she got paid. She would just avoid Orlando as much as she could until then.
“How are you going to avoid him when you are living with him?” She asked herself. She wasn't quite sure how that was going to happen.
Orlando laid in bed and listened to the shower in Logan's room run. It had been 4 days since Logan had moved in and other then the sleepless nights, the uncomfortable silences and the awkward brief conversations they shared, it had gone alright.
“If you don't count the raging erections.” Orlando mumbled to himself. He had never been in such a state of constant arousal, he had to wear loose pants and long T-shirts just to cover it up. Logan spent most of his time in his room and Orlando was torn between being relieved and disappointed, he missed the easy friendship they had shared at the beginning, now that one stupid kiss had ruined everything. Granted it was a kiss that never failed to make his dick throb but it was so wrong, he had never found a man attractive before Logan and he still didn't besides him. Sometimes he wanted to throw caution to the wind and kiss Logan until his lips were bruised and bleeding but ever fiber of his brain told him it wasn't right for him to do, it was his stupid body that wouldn't co-operate. He breathed out a deep breath, trying to prepare for facing Logan at breakfast, at least Logan had the day off and Orlando wouldn't be forced to see him at the set too. Sighing he got out of bed and went to take a shower of his own.
Logan was sitting at the bar/counter eating some cereal when Orlando came into the room. He felt his stomach flop at the sight of Logan's long graceful neck, the hair there wet and a bit shaggy in need of a haircut, he wondered how it would feel under his lips.
“Morning.” Logan said with a smile that didn't seem genuine to Orlando. He flashed his own fake smile back.
Good morning.” He went and grabbed a bottle of orange juice, deciding he would eat something from Craft Services on the set. “What are your plans for today?”
“Just going to hang around here. Read a book.” Logan answered with a shrug. Orlando couldn't take his eyes off Logan's neck, staring at the small mark that he had thought was a birthmark and now realized was a scar. He longed to trace the shape of it with his tongue. Logan shifted and leaned his head on his hand, covering the scar from view and frowning at him, as if he knew what Orlando had been looking at.
“How did you get that?” He asked Logan. He didn't answer for a long time.
“It's just a burn.” He finally said, staring down at his bowl of cereal.
“It's so perfectly round....how did you get burn there?” He couldn't help himself and he shoved Logan's hand aside to look at it more closely, tracing his finger over the shiny red skin. Logan was silent, eyes closed, head tilted to allow more room for Orlando's touch. Orlando brought his thumb up to trace Logan's jaw. “Your skin is so soft.” Logan didn't speak but opened his eyes half way, the pupils were dilated with desire and his cheeks were flushed with heat. And Orlando couldn't stop himself. From touching Logan's damp hair, tilting his head back and lowering his mouth onto Logan's lips. That smell that always seemed to cling to Logan was heavy in the air and Orlando breathed it in deeply, sucking Logan's lower lip into his mouth before plunging his tongue inside to explore. Logan moaned and clung to Orlando's shirt, fists clutching handfuls of it. Not caring about the ramifications, just lost in the pleasure of Logan's mouth, Orlando let his hand trail down Logan's neck towards his waist, intent on touching Logan's bare skin. That's when Logan stiffened and pulled away, eyes wide, lips wet, breath ragged and quick.
“We can't do this.” He said to Orlando who was beyond caring.
“I know what I said but right now I don't care.” He moved toward Logan again.
“Orlando stop. You might not care right now but you will later. Think about it. You were furious with me the last time we kissed. How angry will you be if I don't stop this now?” Logan looked sad and a little scared and Orlando knew he was right.
“I don't know why this is happening with you Logan but sometimes I feel like if I don't touch you I'll die.” He whispered running his hands through his messy hair.
“You won't die Lando. You're just confused.” Logan said softly, and Orlando was sure Logan was trying to keep from crying. “That's probably my fault.”
“I've never felt like this before Logan, not for a man.” Orlando admitted.
“Me either. You had better go to work now. I'll see you later.”
“Okay. I'll see you then.” Orlando grabbed his knapsack and with a final look at Logan's red lips left for the set.
Logan lay on her bed staring at the ceiling replaying the kiss with Orlando over and over again in her mind. She was achy with desire for him, nothing seemed to make it go away, she had already had a cold shower and masturbated twice since he had left. She wanted him more after she was done, frustrated with longing and irritated by her situation. It wasn't fair what she was doing to him, he was obviously straight and starting to question his sexuality because she was sending out some sort of mixed messages.
“Not so mixed. You want him so badly and he can obviously tell.” She said out loud to herself. “What am I going to do? Maybe I should just leave.....or I could just tell him.”
The minute the words left her mouth the image of him kissing her naked body came to her mind, sweat shining on their skin, his dark curls brushing against her pale skin. Did she really want to go there? If she told him and he forgave her lie then they would certainly end up sleeping together but then what? She couldn't stay in New York. Chad was here looking for her. But if Chad couldn't find her, maybe he would go back to St. Louis? She didn't think Chad would give up that easily. She could probably get a job working under the table for less then minimum wage but then what? That wouldn't be enough to live on. Maybe she could go to the police. But she had no evidence that Chad had beaten her, it would be her word against his and it would let Chad know where she actually was. Holding her head and groaning at the mess that was her life she rolled over and tried to sort it all out again.
Orlando got out of the cab and stared at the doors of the hotel, maybe he should just go to a different hotel and book a room, leave Logan this one and just separate himself from the whole crazy situation. He couldn't get Logan out of his mind and that kiss. The kiss where he had been willing to do things with a guy that he had never thought he would ever want to. He just wanted the ache in his groin to go away and to kiss Logan out of his system.
The doorman made the decision for Orlando, he opened the door and said “Good Evening Mr. Bloom.” He had no choice but to go through the door with a “Thank you” and headed for the elevator. He fought to remain calm as he walked off the elevator and headed for his suite, pulling the key card out of his pocket and swiping it through the lock and opening the door and then standing in stunned silence at the vision that awaited him.
Logan was standing by the window wearing jeans that hugged his tight firm round ass, and a pink t-shirt that wasn't tight but hugged his curves, showing off his breasts. He looked shyly at Orlando.
“I was afraid for you to see me like this.” Logan said shyly his voice softer and more feminine.
“Oh my God.” He said, walking in and slamming the door before anyone saw what was going on. “You're a cross dresser?”
“What? No! I'm a woman.” Logan replied, shaking his head.
“What are you talking about?” Orlando felt so confused. And scared because Logan in drag was really hot. It explained a lot though, there was something feminine about everything he did.
“I had to hide. I ran away from my boyfriend. He was...hurting me. I had to leave or he would kill me. I thought that by pretending to be a guy it would be easier. I was so scared and being a man made a lot of that fear go away. At first it was just for survival and then I met you and the lie was there and I didn't know what to do....” Logan told him, tears filling up her eyes. Orlando was stunned, it all fell into place. The baggy clothes, the face that never seemed to grow hair, the total avoidance and disinterest in Claire, the flirting....the kissing. Logan was a woman.
“Oh Thank God I'm not gay.” He said weakly collapsing onto the couch and wiping his face with his hands.
“I'm sorry for that. For hurting you and confusing you.” She said moving to sit beside him.
“Why did you do this?” He said gesturing at her clothes. “Why reveal yourself?”
“A few reasons. I hate living this lie, it's cruel to you and it hurts too much. Second, Chad is here in New York and he's looking for me, that's why I asked to stay here. There wasn't toxic mold. I needed a safe place.” She told him.
“And the third?” He asked, unable to stop himself from reaching out to touch the scar on her neck, that too dawned on him, it was the size of a cigarette, that bastard had burnt her with a cigarette.
“Because the next time we kiss I don't want you to have any doubts that it's the right thing to do.” She told him, her eyes lingering on his mouth. He reached up and cupped her face in his hands,
“I am so glad you are a woman.” He whispered before kissing her.
