So this is the next chappy. Hope you guys like it.
I slowly opened my eyes, seeing darkness around me I assumed it wasn’t morning yet. So I closed my eyes again, resting my head back against the pillow. Then I heard something, something akin to sobbing and whimpering. I frowned and looked around the room; I saw a dark mass sitting in the corner to my dimly lit room. “Gee?” I asked quietly and heard a small hiccup.
I reached for my glasses and pulled them on. Upon my vision clearing and my eyes becoming more accustomed to the darkness I realised it was him. “Gee? What’s the matter?”
“Couldn’t sleep. I was scared. Didn’t want to be alone.” Was the tiny reply, so quiet I had to strain to hear it. I sighed quietly to myself. “Come here.” I said, sitting up in bed and holding out my arms to him. He got shakily to his feet and walked towards me, climbing on to my double bed and into my embrace.
“Do you want to sleep in here tonight?” I asked softly. I felt him nod into my shoulder. “Okay then.” I pulled back my half of the covers allowing him to slip in beside me. He snuggled down beneath the duvet and cuddled close to me. I gasped slightly when one of his feet caught my leg. “Christ Gee! Your feet are freezing!”
He giggled quietly. “Sorry.” He whispered. “Your legs are warm.” He said, giving me a cheeky grin. I smiled at my brother. “Come on, try and get some sleep.”

When I next awoke it was lighter but it was mainly being blocked out by my curtains. I glanced round at Gerard, who was sleeping with his back turned to me. It was then that I realised he was curled up in a tiny ball and seemed to be shaking, as if he was crying. “Gerard?” I asked quietly, I couldn’t tell for sure if he was asleep or awake. He didn’t respond to me but started to talk slightly, mumbling some of it. I listened carefully trying to catch what I could of what he was saying. “Ow! No! You’re hurting me! Please...stop Steven! Please...” It was here that Gerard seemed to dissolve into sobs. Steven? Who the hell was Steven?
“Gee?” I shook him gently. “Gee?” Gerard awoke with a start, gasping for breath, a thin sheen of sweat covering his body. He snapped his head toward me but upon realising I was the only one there he relaxed somewhat. “It’s okay. You just had a nightmare.” I told him and he gave a small nod.
“Umm...Gee? Who’s Steven?” Gerard shrugged. “I don’t know.”
“You were talking about him in your sleep?” Gerard creased his forehead making his eyebrows look like they were going become one. “I was? Don’t ‘member.” I nodded my head, I was trying to just brush it off but something in the back of my head told me there was more to this than meets the eye.

“Hey Frankie.” He looked up at me from where we were sitting, drinking coffee in the kitchen. “Has Gee ever mentioned a ‘Steven’ to you?”
Frank raised an eyebrow. “Steven? Hmm...no don’t think so...why?”
“He had a nightmare about him last night but I don’t think it’s anyone at the Institute and I just can’t think for the life of me who he might be...”
Frank frowned. “Do you think it has something to do with...?” He pointed his thumb at Gerard through the doorway who was sitting cross-legged on the living room floor watching some form of TV show.
“Well at first I thought it didn’t but I just don’t see why he’d be having a nightmare about it otherwise...” Frank nodded at me. “You’re sure there’s not someone from your past, like from when you were kids called Steven?”
“I don’t know...I...hang on...our babysitter when I was a lot younger was called Steven but why would Gerard...” There was some hard banging on the door and I glanced at Frank with worried eyes. “Mr Way! Open up! We have a warrant to search your house!” I heard muffled from the other side of the door.
“Frank!” I said, panicky. “Take Gerard! Quickly! Hide him! Anywhere! Just somewhere they won’t find him! I won’t have him taken from me! Not again!” Frank nodded hurriedly, grabbing a petrified looking Gerard, who was staring at the door in fear, by the arm and ran him up the stairs.
I took a couple of deep breaths before heading to the door. “Hang on! Just unlocking the door!” I yelled through to the police on the outside. I clicked the locks open and, with a deep breath and putting on my best fake smile, I opened the door. 3 officers stood there, “Hi there. What seems to be the problem?”
“Belleville Mental Institute called us. Apparently they’ve got an escapee on their hands. You’re brother.” The officer who seemed to be in charge studied my features carefully. “Is he here Mr. Way?”
“No. I didn’t know...god...Gerard...where the hell could he be...surely he’d come here first...”
“Our thinking exactly Mr. Way.” The officer glared hard at me as if looking for any signs of lying, trying to trip me up.
“Look officers. I care for my brother. I know that the best for him at the moment is at the Institute so I would have called them had he turned up here.”
The officer nodded a couple of times before sighing. “Well can we still have a look around? It’s procedure in these kinds of cases.”
“Yes. Of course. That’s fine.” I said stepping back from the threshold and allowing them to enter the house. God I hoped I had bought Frank enough time to find him a decent hiding place.

*Frank’s POV*
I pulled Gerard up the stairs to the next floor, running along the corridor, looking in the rooms looking for somewhere to hide him. Anywhere.
I was panicking. Mikey was relying on me to keep his brother safe and I couldn’t find anywhere they wouldn’t search anywhere. Then I glanced up, I noticed the trap door the ceiling. The attic! Well it was the only other idea I had at the moment. I grabbed the hook for opening it, tucked inside the bathroom door and pulled the door down; it brought a ladder with it. “Get up there!” I told Gerard urgently. He was a white as a sheet, he looked scared stiff. “Just stay up there, hide and keep quiet and maybe we can stop you from going back there, okay?” Gerard nodded manically. He ran up the stairs and I shut the door before taking the hook and running into the spare room where I had stayed the night, running to the closet and stuffing it in there, hiding it behind some old clothes.

*Gerard’s POV*
Before I was plunged into darkness as Frank closed the ladder back up into the attic I spotted a torch lying by the trap door, I’d grabbed it and hugged it close. I ran my hand down it till I found the on switch and flashed in round the room; I spotted some boxes in piles around the room, if it could be called that.
I tried to think of this being a game, a game of hide and seek. So I hid.

*Mikey’s POV*
“Okay now if we could just take a look upstairs Mr. Way, and then we’ll be out of your way.” I nodded, leading them upstairs. “Frank?” I called. “Frankie?” No reply.
“Who’s Frank?” One of the officers asked.
“My band mate.” I replied. “He crashes here sometimes.”
“Where is he now then?” He asked suspiciously. “I’m not really sure.” We walked along the corridor, two of the officers diverting off into the other rooms to have a search. We approached the door to the spare bedroom, which was closed. I knocked. “Frankie?” No reply again, I went to knock again but the last officer got impatient. “Move out of the way.” He moved his hand to his gun in his belt and turned the handle.
I let out an inward sigh of relief when the room opened up in front of us. Frankie was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling...earphones in his ears. He jerked up when the guy came into the room. “Mike! I...Who are you?”
I stepped in. “They’re police Frank. Gerard ran away last night and their looking for him?”
“Gerard’s missing. Holy shit. How the fuck did that happen?” He was putting on a very convincing act actually, the officer seemed to be buying it.
“Well I’m afraid I will need to search this room Mr...?”
“Iero.” Frank replied. “And yes that’s absolutely fine.”
The officer began to look around, kneeling down and checking under the bed as Frank got up and walked over to me. “What’s in here?” “Just some old clothes and stuff.” I replied quickly. He nodded but still began to search, when he found no sign of Gerard he began to retract from the closet but as he did he knocked the ‘key’ to the attic from its hiding place. He picked it up, suspiciously looking to us standing in the doorway. “You have an attic here Mr. Way?”
“Well...I...er yes. I mean who doesn’t?” I gave an awkward laugh but Frank’s face had told me where he had hidden Gerard and now I knew I was going to loose him, again. “Excuse me please.” He said, walking past, the hook in hand. “Men! Come here!”
The two other officers ran to join him. “Anything?”
“No sir.” They both replied. “We need to check the attic.” The officer reached up, slotting the hook into the hole and pulling, making the trap door open. All 3 proceeded up there, while Frank and I stood at the bottom just waiting for the shouting to begin when they found him. Frank stroked my back comfortingly. After a few minutes of silence though they came back down the lead officer looking thoroughly confused.
“It appears he’s not here. Well I’m sorry to have disturbed you both, I guess we’ll go now...we’ll let you know if we here anything on Gerard.”
I was shocked but acted as normal as possible. “Thank you that would be great. Just please hurry and find him. I worry about him you know?” He nodded before him and the other two officers and headed out the door. As soon as Frank and I heard the door slam and I saw the car drive away out of the window, I finally let out a heavy sigh of relief. Then Frank and I looked to each other before running up into the attic. “Gerard?” I called. “Gerard? Where are you?”
We both looked around frantically. Frank looked thoroughly confused. “But I left him up here. Where the hell is he?” Then I had an idea. “Gerard? Come on out. The game’s over and you won.” Suddenly I heard some noise and walked towards one of the piles of boxes. Frank cocked his head slightly. “Gerard?”
Suddenly some of the boxes toppled from the top of the pile causing me and Frank to jump back slightly and Gerard appeared out of the middle, in the midst of 20 odd boxes. “Did I hide good?” Gerard said looking from me to Frank and back to me.
“Yeah.” Frank told him, a little stunned. “You did awesome.” Gerard grinned before climbing out of his hiding place and running down the stairs. I stared after him in bemusement.
“Now that...” Frank said, coming to stand beside me. “...was close.”
