WARNINGS: Sexual references, a little angst
--------------------
11am, 30th December
"Jin? Honey, make sure you pack the camera!"
"Yeah, yeah, I've got it. Don't worry".
Mika giggled as she stood in the doorway of her parent's bedroom and watched them pack for the New Years Holiday. They were not going to be away long - half of today, then New Years Eve, New Years Day and finally back in the evening of the 2nd January. But with all the junk they were taking, you'd think they wouldn't be back for a month. Mika just clasped her hands behind her back while her parents rushed too and from the wardrobe, en suite bathroom and the suitcases on their bed. Her father was bent over his suitcases and double-checking that he had the camera like his wife asked. While he was doing that he happened to glance up at Mika who had an amused little grin on her face.
"And what are you smirking at?"
"Nothing ... it's just not often I see you guys packing to go away. It's funny to watch ..."
Rina, Mika's mother, could be heard giggling from the bathroom when she heard Jin grunt at Mika's comment. With Jin always busy with working the Stock Exchange it wasn't often that he got to go away with his wife, but when he did have a holiday it was always grand.
"Now Otou-san, make sure your packed for really cold snowy weather!"
Mika warned when she approached the bed and noticed her father had two pairs of t-shirts in his case. Jin placed his hands on his hips and looked down at Mika.
"Excuse me, Little-Miss-Picky. We won't always be outside, and I'm not going to sit all rugged up in our cabin room when there will be a large open fireplace".
Mika puffed her cheeks up and 'hmph'ed at her fathers objection to her advice - she liked the idea of rugging up even with an open-fire. In defeat Mika stepped back and watched as her mother came back with a small toiletry bag. She stuffed it into her suitcase and then both her and Jin zipped up the bags. Rina sighed happily as she looked peacefully down at her bag.
"It's going to be lovely in Sapporo. Everything covered in crisp white snow, with the sun reflecting off it ... oh and the outdoor ice-skating!"
Mika smiled at how excited her mother was, even if it was only a calm excitement. While Jin dragged both bags onto the floor, he then hoisted them up and left the bedroom so he could take them down-stairs. Rina smiled at Mika and approached her, wrapping one arm around her shoulders while Mika wrapped an arm around her mother's waist.
"It's a shame we can't take you with us, but your father gets these holiday bonuses from work and it only allows two people ..."
"It's okay, I don't mind staying here. I can always go to Sapporo myself another time ... I'll be with my friends so I'm not worried".
Rina smiled warmly at her daughter and gave a soft kiss to the forehead. Then both of them, still with arms wrapped around each other, walked out of the bedroom and down the stairs to the front door. Jin had left the bags directly in front of the door and had disappeared somewhere. Rina and Mika stopped at the foot of the stairs and glanced around from the lounge area to the kitchen behind the flight of stairs. Suddenly he came striding out of the kitchen, looking around as if he'd lost something.
"Honey, what are you looking for?"
"Oh nothing, I was just making sure everything was off. If Mika is going to stay with her friends then there's no point in leaving everything on".
Rina nodded thoughtfully for a moment, realising her husband had a point. Mika looked from her mother to her father and Jin clapped his hands together.
"Alright Mika, seeing everything's off, that's something you don't have to worry about doing now. So once you've got your things and ready to leave, just make sure you turn the alarm on and the front door is securely locked".
Mika nodded rigorously and Jin nodded with a little smile.
"Okay then ... I don't mean to sound like I don't trust you, but this is the first time we're going away with you staying somewhere else. I want to make sure all of our belongings are still here when we get back ..."
"Chichi, it's okay, I think I can handle the alarm and locking the door".
Jin nodded apologetically and stepped around Mika and Rina to fetch the bags again. Once he'd gone out the front door, most likely to take them to the car, Rina looked at Mika and smiled.
"Don't mind him, honey. It's just we'll be four hours plane travel away in Sapporo and he's actually more worried about leaving you. We've never been this far away from you before ... now are you sure you'll be alright?"
"Yes I'm sure, I'll be with Kira. Her parents are still in America so they won't be home for New Years Eve but it's safe at her place. Plus I might see Megumi, Kikyo and Ai as well ..."
Mika hated telling her parents a lie like that, because chances are she might not see her friends at all. Little did her parents know but once they left she would be on her way to Ruki's apartment - and probably feeling a little guilty about it too. But she'd spent too much time away from him already ... she was now aching for him to finally kiss her after so long. Disrespectful to her parents, but she was almost to the point of fidgeting ... waiting for them to finally leave so she could go. Rina gave her daughter one last cuddle before Mika walked her too the door. While her mother went to the car, her father came back to say goodbye to Mika.
"Take care, Mika. If there's anything wrong, first thing you do is call the police".
Mika giggled and nodded as she hugged her father. He stood back from her and held a finger up.
"And no mischief while we're gone. I expect to come back and find you in one piece, alright?"
"Will you just go, you'll miss your flight! I'll be fine".
Mika gave her father a slight playful shove and finally he turned to head back to the car. Rina was already in the passenger seat and waving to Mika. As Mika returned the wave, the car revved into life and slowly rolled out of the driveway - facing the road meant they could drive straight out. Before the car could drive out of sight of where Mika stood at the door, Jin beeped the horn a couple of times. Mika again waved in response to the horn, before rubbing her cold hands and ducking back inside. Mika leaned against the door to shut it, but just stood and thought for a moment.
"Okay ... now I have to pack some things. Enough clothes for at least four days just in case, my PJ's, toiletries ..."
Mika counted her fingers as she named each item she had to take. Finally she just decided to think while she packed, and therefore stood away from the door and ran upstairs to her room. Going straight to her wardrobe, she pushed one of the sliding panels aside and reached into the back to find her bag. It was the kind of bag that sat on two wheels and had a retractable handle; it was about fifty centimetres tall, thirty wide and twenty deep - royal red too. Just perfect for carrying enough clothes for how long she was staying - and she didn't have to worry about taking anything to keep herself busy because she'd be more than entertained by staying with Ruki.
Mika lay the bag down on her fluffy rug, threw the cover open and went back to the wardrobe to start packing. After careful consideration she managed to pick two pairs of skinny jeans - one pair dark blue, the other pair black with red love-hearts on the butt-pockets - three long sleeve tops with random unknown cartoon characters on them, a couple of t-shirts just in case, a couple of woollen sweaters - both black but one was a turtle-neck and the other was a low-cut V-neck - and finally she picked out her pink and black PJ's - pink leopard-print pants and a black short-sleeve top with a pink heart on the front. Then aside from the usual several pairs of panties, socks, a bra or two and a pair of slippers she was finished. She didn't worry about other shoes; she'd just wear her black and white checker converses.
Once her clothes were arranged to fit snugly in the bag along with her toiletries case - and her present for Ruki was hidden away under her clothes - Mika flipped the cover back over and quickly zipped it up. She glanced up at her bedside radio-clock to look at the time but remembered her father had turned the power off so the display was gone. Instead she got off the floor and picked up her cell-phone from her desk - it now showed almost eleven-thirty. After getting Ruki's address over the week, Mika worked out it would take her no longer than twenty minutes to drive there, maybe a bit longer if there was traffic or snow on the road. Even though it was still early Mika decided to send Ruki a quick message to say she would be leaving in a minute or two.
Once the message was sent Mika snatched her thigh-length white coat from the chair at her desk and pushed her arms through the sleeves. There was no way she was going to leave without that coat, not in this weather. Then she picked up her handbag, pocketed her cell-phone and pulled the handle of her suitcase up. Glancing one last time around her room to make sure she had everything, Mika dragged the case out of her room and then carried it down stairs. She sat the bag by the front door so she could slip her feet into the converses. Then with one last glance around the living room Mika pushed her bag out the front door on its wheels, quickly set the alarm and then left, locking the door securely behind her.

Meanwhile a little way across town in the Shibuya Area, Ruki was sitting cross-legged at the end of his sofa and facing the middle. He was in the middle of a wrestling match with his dog Mitsu - which involved just roughing up the little terror as it yapped and rolled around. The smile never left Ruki's face as he played with Mitsu ... if he didn't have Mitsu there he would have died of boredom. Ruki felt bad to have to ask his parents to watch Mitsu while he was on Tour but after the Grand Finale, the little dog could settle down again. Ruki paused for a moment from playing with Mitsu, and the little dog just sat in the middle of the sofa, panting and staring playfully at his owner. When Ruki let out a little laugh at how perky the little dog was, Mitsu yapped once and stood up, waging his fluffy tail slightly.
"I think you need a rest for a while".
Ruki said, reaching over to ruffle the dog's head gently, but Mitsu ducked backwards and yapped again. Just as Ruki went to reach for the dog again, his cell-phone beeped on the coffee table. Ruki placed one foot on the floor and leaned over to pick up the phone - it flashed one message from Mika. When he opened the phone and read the message, Ruki smiled and looked at Mitsu.
"Mika will be here soon. You had better be on your best behaviour, got it?"
Ruki said firmly and held a finger up to Mitsu, to make sure the dog understood. Mitsu yapped again and flopped down onto the sofa, panting quickly. Ruki laughed and set his phone back on the coffee table, before he stood up to head into the bedroom. He decided to put a jacket on and head down-stairs to wait for Mika, in case she couldn't find the building. Mitsu came darting into the bedroom just as Ruki took a large thick black jacket from his wardrobe, then pushing his arms through the sleeves. As Ruki turned to head back out to the lounge area, he pulled his favourite black beanie over his head, allowing a few strands to hang over his face. Again Mitsu ran along behind him.
"Come on, you can wait with me".
Ruki said as he quickly took his phone, sunglasses, packet of smokes and apartment keys from the coffee table. Mitsu snorted and jumped in circles around Ruki's feet as the singer walked over to the door to slip into his black converses. Ruki hadn't even opened the door a little bit and Mitsu had already darted out into the hallway. Luckily the little dog was trained not to run off so Ruki didn't have to restrict him with a lead. While he took a moment to lock the door, Mitsu stood near the stairs patiently, ears perked up curiously.
"Okay ... Ikou, Mitsu".
Ruki pocketed his keys and put on the sunglasses as he walked towards the stairs. Mitsu jumped out of the way to wait for Ruki to go first, which he then ran along behind. Mitsu's nails made a faint clicking sound as he ran down the concrete steps and it made Ruki smile - he liked the sound. It was probably a little too early to be waiting out in the car park for Mika seeing she'd only just messaged. But it was just in case, and plus he could play with Mitsu in the snow while they waited.
* * *
"Hmm lets see ..."
Mika had to slow down and pull up to the side of the road so she could work out where to do next. She was directly across from the Shibuya Station, on the North side that headed towards Harajuku Station. Mika took her little note-pad to read the next direction. So far she had managed to find her way to Shibuya Station without having to stop but now it was starting to get tricky. The area was quite busy today, most likely with people preparing for the New Years Eve celebrations.
"Okay ... from the North side of Shibuya station, head up the road. Turn left into Koen-Dori ..."
Mika read out-loud and she glanced up at the road in front of her - it wasn't far from where she was. So when she had a chance, Mika moved away from the curb and drove up towards the street she wanted. At the first sight of the 'Koen-Dori' sign, she slowed down and turned left. Luckily the street was quiet so she could pull up again and read the next direction.
"Head up Koen-Dori and then turn left at the first intersection. Look for a large grey apartment building with a naked Sakura tree out the front."
Mika giggled at the last part about the naked tree - that was the exact direction Ruki had given her so she wrote it down anyway. And so Mika dropped the note-pad on the front passenger seat and, made sure the road was clear, and then kept going. At the first intersection, Mika turned left and then slowed down to a crawl so she could keep an eye out for Ruki's building. Soon enough, a tall grey building came into view ... but suddenly Mika slammed on the breaks when something caught her eye.
"Oh my ..."
She wasn't close enough to be seen yet, but in the little car park of the apartment block she saw Ruki playing around with a little fluffy white and orange dog. The reason Mika had stopped so suddenly was that just the mere sight of Ruki made her heart jump ... she just wanted to admire him for a moment before making herself appear. Mika tilted her head as she just watched him; he looked so cool in simple street-wear. The big jacket, sunglasses and beanie seemed to hide his identity pretty well. And as usual he had a cigarette stuck in the corner of his mouth, while casually throwing a stick for the dog to fetch. Suddenly Mika snapped out of her spying daze and realised she should actually "arrive" before he wondered where she was.
Mika swallowed hard as she slowly drove up the last few meters towards the apartment block. Ruki was now facing the other way while he watched the dog running around, so he hadn't noticed her yet. But Ruki casually glanced over his shoulder when he heard the sound of a car behind him. Mika hadn't even driven into the car park yet and her heart was in her throat - she could see the smile growing on his face. Ruki took the cigarette from his mouth, blew a stream of smoke out and pointed to a car stop beside another black car, which Mika recognised was his. As she composed herself and drove up into the space, she could see in her rear-vision mirror that Ruki was walking around behind her car to get to the drivers side. While she turned the ignition off, he opened her door and she slowly glanced up at his face.
Mika mentally cursed that her cheeks were on fire; her face was probably bright red - but that was Ruki's fault for looking so damn hot even in winter. Before she could say anything, Ruki reached into the car and took her hand to pull her out of the drivers seat. And again before Mika realised, she was face-to-face with him and staring at her reflection in his big sunglasses.
"Ruki ..."
Mika went to speak but she was cut off when he reached up to brush his thumb over her bottom lip. She remembered when he first did that to her back at the café, and even now it made her shiver. Ruki took his glasses off and set them on the roof of Mika's car, leaving his arm to rest there as he stared deeply into her eyes. Mika felt like he would burn holes in them if he stared much longer.
"A whole month of not being able to touch you ... just let me kiss you first".
Mika blushed even more at his words. She was so used to hearing his voice over the phone that hearing him speak in person after so long was almost too much. Mika gripped at the sides of his jacket when he leaned forward to kiss her - finally, the one thing she'd been dying for weeks to experience again. Mika shuddered as she tried not to cry again, gripping his jacket tighter. Ruki could feel her shuddered and the little whimpering sound she made, and he knew she was upset again. He took her hands and brought them to wrap around his body so he could then envelope his own arms around her. When he took a second to break the kiss and look at her, her eyes seemed to be fighting back tears.
"No more crying ... I'm here now."
He whispered against her forehead and Mika closed her eyes, swallowing hard as she forced the tears back. Ruki softly trailed his lips down to kiss her eyelids gently and it made Mika feel a lot better even though he only kissed them. Suddenly she felt his lips against hers again, but this time she made the bold move by meeting his tongue first. Ruki was actually a little surprised at Mika's first move but he wasn't going to complain. Again this wasn't the first time she had french-kissed with Ruki but it was still overwhelming to her ... but this one was different; almost desperate. After being apart for a month, Ruki felt he could tear himself apart if he spent any longer away from Mika. And Mika's feelings were so mixed up since her first real kiss with him ... her heart was screaming for more but her head was telling her to slow down.
This was exactly what Kira and Ai had warned her in the car on the way back from the café ... that sooner or later, Ruki might just change her perspective completely. Mika wasn't really convinced when they said that, but after that long month without seeing him ... no, it couldn't happen that quickly, surely? Well whatever the feeling was, she didn't want to let go of him and by the way Ruki was holding into her, he wasn't about to let go either. Ruki suddenly broke the kiss and Mika then felt his lips trailing across her cheek and down to nuzzle at her neck. Mika's heart jumped and she gripped at his back firmly when she felt his tongue softly tracing up to a spot behind her ear.
"Ah ... Ruki, not here".
She said in almost a whisper. Out in view of the public wasn't exactly the best place for Ruki to lavish his sexual desires on her, so Mika made sure he knew that. Besides, even if they were hidden away inside, Mika wasn't sure she was ready for that higher level of intimacy he seemed to be craving. It was just something she still needed time to think about. Ruki didn't hesitate in obliging to stop as Mika asked - when it involved her he'd to anything. Ruki reached up and sheepishly pulled his beanie down a bit more.
"Sorry ... I admit I couldn't help it. You just smell really good".
Mika smiled and blushed as Ruki reached up with both hands to hold her head gently and he gave her another small kiss. He certainly knew how to make her feel special. Then Mika heard a little whimper from somewhere on the ground. When Ruki dropped his hands and they both looked down, there was Mitsu sitting at their feet looking hopeful. Mika gasped and made a little 'aww' sound at how cute the dog was. Ruki smiled.
"Ah I can't believe I forgot. I'd like you to meet my dog, Mitsu. He's a two year old Papillon".
"Oh how totally adorable!"
Mika cooed as she bent down to place her hands on her knees and she grinned at the dog. Mitsu's ears went down and he stood up to slink over to Mika. She held her hand out to him and Mitsu sniffed it thoroughly - upon realising Mika was definitely a girl, he instantly turned to butter. Mitsu then sat on the ground, shuffled over to lean against Mika's legs and then glanced up at her with large glassy eyes. Ruki shook his head sadly - his dog was certainly a sucker for females.
"As you can see, he loves the female human species ... he won't leave you alone now".
Ruki said flatly, pushing his hands into his jacket pockets and watching as Mika bent down to gently scratch Mitsu's chest. The dog leaned even more on Mika, very much enjoying the attention from his new found human crush. Mika giggled and stood up straight again to smile at Ruki, while Mitsu yapped in protest at the sudden stop of his attention.
"Well that's okay. I'll be here until after New Years Day, so there will be plenty of time for me to play with him. I came to see you after all".
Mika smiled warmly at Ruki and he reached over to stroke her cheek in return.
"Alright, now where are your bags? We should go inside before we catch cold".
"Oh my bag is in the back of the car. Wait and I'll open it ..."
While Ruki pocketed his sunglasses and walked around to the back of Mika's car, she bent down into the drivers-side door and pulled a little lever under the steering wheel. The door of the boot popped open and Ruki raised it so he could take Mika's bag. Once she had picked up his handbag and locked her door, and Ruki had closed the boot, Mika walked around to him and they both headed for the main building. Mitsu was running along between Mika and Ruki, panting happily and tail wagging slightly. By the time they had walked up to the second level, Mika ended up carrying Mitsu the rest of the way because he wouldn't stop jumping up to her. When they got to Ruki's door, he unlocked it and then shook his head when he noticed Mitsu looking very content in Mika's arms.
"I knew I shouldn't have asked my mom to bring him back yet ..."
Mika giggled and cuddled Mitsu gently as she walked into Ruki's apartment. While Mika stood in awe for a moment at being in Ruki's apartment - thee Ruki of the Gazette - he shut the door behind him and walked through to his bedroom with her bag. He thought to just leave it there until they worked out where she would like to sleep. When he came back, she had already set Mitsu down and the little dog was just busily walking around the room, with no real purpose then just to wander. Ruki noticed Mika looking around as if she were in a museum.
"Stand there much longer and you might freeze that way".
Ruki suddenly said and Mika jumped, and then looked down at the floor in embarrassment. She started to tangle her fingers together sheepishly.
"Sorry, I guess it's still sinking in ... you know, that we're together. I mean, you're like ... the object of every girls fantasy-"
"Now you making me blush".
"What I mean is, every one of your female fans would just die to even see a tiny part of your life behind the scenes ... yet here I am, one fan out of a million".
Ruki laughed and scratched the back of his head.
"Well that one fan out of a million happens to be my girlfriend, so ... you'll stop me when I find the problem, right?"
"Oh it's not a problem ... I just worry that when I meet one of your fans one day and they hate me, what do I do? What would I say to them?"
Mika looked genuinely worried as she stared at the floor, at nothing in particular. Ruki knew what she meant - she was more concerned about what the fan thought ... not what she wanted. Ruki stepped closer to her and placed his hands on her shoulders, rubbing them softly with his thumbs.
"Just tell them the truth ... tell them why we're together, tell them how I found you. I say this because I want you to stop feeling guilty for being with me. It would be no different if I were not famous. Yes we have fans everywhere but I don't think that should mean either me or my band mates aren't allowed to have our own relationships".
Mika looked sadly at Ruki but then she managed a little smile and nodded. Ruki nodded as well.
"Alright ... now quit the angsting, your much cuter when your laughing. Take your shoes and jacket off, relax. I'll bring you something to drink".
Ruki placed a lingering kiss to the side of Mika's head as he walked past her to head into the kitchen. Mika smiled to herself and bit her bottom lip, turning just in time to watch Ruki disappear around the corner. She stepped on the heels of his shoes and pushed them with her foot over by the front door. She then let her white coat slip off her shoulders as she walked over to the sofa and sat down. Folding her jacket up loosely, she laid it across her lap but then jumped in surprise when Mitsu pounced onto the sofa beside her. The little dog lay down beside her thigh and rolled over so he lay on his back, waiting for a tummy-scratch. Ruki came back with two tall glasses of iced-tea, just in time to see Mitsu almost falling asleep from Mika scratching his tummy. He smiled and sat down which prompted Mitsu to wake up and jump off the sofa.
"I think I've got competition ... here".
He held one glass out for Mika and she smiled, taking it gratefully in both hands.
"Hmm ... I don't think you do. Mitsu is cute, but I prefer a human male companion".
She blushed and took a little sip of her drink, looking away from Ruki as her face suddenly felt hot. Mika had never known herself to blush so much in her life, and it was always around him. For a second Mika remained looking away but when she did actually look at him, he was just staring at her and smiling. He was leaning back against the sofa, one arm across the top and his legs crossed in her direction. He was holding his glass of iced-tea perched up on his knee. Mika couldn't help but blush even more.
"... What? Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Nothing, I've just never heard anyone say that to me before ... it's nice to hear".
With saying that Ruki set his glass down on the coffee table and leaned closer to Mika, using his free hand to stroke a thumb over his cheek softly. With Ruki's face being no further than a foot away from her's she could just about see herself in his dark-brown eyes. It was nice to see them without any kind of coloured contact lens; they were definitely the eyes of someone with a deep sole. Mika found herself so transfixed by his eyes that she couldn't look away but she was brought back to reality when he moved in to kiss her again. He hadn't surprised her this time so her split-second initial reaction wasn't to tense up, like before.
This time she found herself relaxing completely, eyes fluttering shut as Ruki nipped at her bottom lip softly, coaxing her to open her mouth. When she did, Ruki's tongue met hers halfway and explored together as Ruki's hand moved to rest on the back of Mika's neck to massage it gently. Mika couldn't help but let out a little moan, loving the massage on the back of her neck. She lifted one hand to rest on his arm; a way of telling him not to stop seeing her mouth was busy. At this Ruki did actually stop but only to take Mika's glass and set it on the table. When Ruki looked back at Mika, he noticed her face ... he'd seen that expression a few times - she was definitely turned on. Her cheeks weren't bright red but just slightly flushed and her eyes were dreamy, like she was in a daze.
Ruki moved back over to Mika, replacing his hand on the back of her neck but this time leaning in to nuzzle at the side of her neck again. He'd half expected her to tell him to stop again, despite being behind closed doors, but she didn't say a word. Mika closed her eyes and focused on enjoying his tongue on her neck. She'd come to a decision - Mika was willing to let him go but if it got to a point where it was too much, then she'd tell him to stop. It had taken a fair while for her to decide this, because after all, she still had all those years of her belief behind her. But it wasn't like she was a kid anymore ... her twenty-second birthday was coming up. Of course she wouldn't be like Ai or Kira, who have had intimate relationships with their previous boyfriends before.
On the other hand, Ruki didn't want to scare Mika - his theory that Mika had never been with another guy before seemed to becoming more and more likely. So as previously thought of, he wasn't going to push her into anything. For now just to kiss her, hold her and give her little bits of intimate affection would be enough to show her that he was ready when she was. By the little moans he was hearing from her, he hoped he wouldn't overflow Mika's mind too much with thoughts on that decision. All he wanted to do was let Mika get used to the feelings he was giving her ... which was actually difficult because he found it hard not to be turned on by Mika's moans.

NOTES:
1) Mika's father: He may sound like he's a grumpy guy but deep-down he is actually very caring and understanding. You'll see ...
2) 'Ikou, Mitsu': The term 'Ikou' is basically Japanese for 'Lets go'
3) Directions to Ruki's house: As your no doubt aware, these aren't real directions to his house. However I have heard that if your not familiar with the addressing system in Japan, the house numbers don't go '1, 2, 3, 4, etc.' like a typical street in say America or Australia. Aparently the house numbers go in order of when they were built, so you could find '2, 12, 4, 45, etc.' along a street somewhere in Japan. And really the best way to give directions is to describe the surroundings
4) Sexual desires: As you can imagine, a whole month of not being able to see mika, so he's kinda under sexual frustration at the moment
