Sorry for it taking so long >.<
I've been really busy. But I've made myself write and here's what I got. =)
Hope you like it!
The night before had been fun. The guys all seemed surprised at the gifts she had bought for them. They all tried to protest, saying that it wouldn’t be right to accept them. The bad thing is; that was just for the cell phones. When she lead them to the garage to show them the new SUV, they about died from shock. It took a lot of convincing to make them accept the car and cell phones.
Over dinner, Scarlett began to get to know them better. She asked them about laundry, and came to find out that they used two different detergents and each a different fabric softener! So she had to make a quick trip into town the next morning and get the right brands and pick up something special for lunch. She was going to make them a special stir-fry lunch, to show them thanks for everything they’ve done for her so far.
While she was out, she had called Tilo and asked if she could meet with him. As she pulled up to the building, she began to shake as anxiety set in. She knew she would have to tell someone the truth. She knew she had to tell the guys eventually, but there was no way she could avoid telling her boss. As she turned the car off, she could feel her hands shaking. Taking a deep breath, she clenched her fists, grabbed her purse, and slid out of the car, locking the doors behind her.
As she approached the front desk, she could feel her composure failing. She asked the receptionist to call Tilo and tell him she was here. After the conformation, Scarlett entered the elevator and waited. When the doors closed, she dropped what little composure she had left. She took another deep breath and attempted to steady chaotic emotions pulsing through her body. A loud ding emitted through the confined space, and the doors began to open. She quickly pulled some of her composure back on, and stepped into the brightly lit lobby.
The same secretary sat behind the desk as before, she looked up and smiled sweetly, quickly paged Tilo. As Scarlett stood there waiting, she tried to build up her courage. She heard the door click but was afraid to look up. She mentally slapped herself and forced her head up. The kind man was smiling at her and gesturing towards to the door he had just come through. “Hello Scarlett. I was rather shocked to get a call from you. If you’ll follow me we can go into my office and discuss whatever it is you wanted to talk about.”
She grimaced and followed. As he led her down the hallway, she could feel her courage slipping away. He turned about halfway down the hall and opened the second door on the left. He let her enter first and closed the door behind them. He walked to the desk and leaned against it, and began, “So what did you want to talk to me about?”
Her stomach dropped, and courage and composure began to quickly fade. Her hands began to shake and she closed her eyes. She took a slow, deep breath to steady herself. It didn’t work. She opened her mouth to try and talk but nothing would come out. She scrunched her face in frustration, and ran to his desk and sat at his computer. She hurriedly opened up his web browser and searched for the article from that horrible, tragic moment in her life.
Once she found it, she quickly stood from the desk and looked at the floor. He walked around the desk and looked at the screen. They stood in silence for minutes. She lost count of how many. By then her whole body was shaking, and her breathing was erratic.
Her mind began to blank out on her, as she slowly began to sink into her ocean of darkness. A hand grasped her arm, snapping her back to reality. She pulled back quickly and opened her mouth to scream, but looked up to find just Tilo staring at her, his face full of concern and worry. “Scarlett, why didn’t you say anything about this before?”
She shrugged and tried to steady her pounding heart. “I…I don’t know. It’s not really something I like to talk about.” She looked down, twisting her hands and biting her lip.
Tilo looked back at the screen, “Do the guys know yet?” Scarlett shook her head. She heard him sigh, and looked back at him. “Are planning on telling them?”
She hesitated, “Yeah, I just don’t know when I will be able to tell them.” She paused, taking a breath, “It could be a while before I can tell them.”
Tilo sighed, “As long as you tell the truth. Just try and do it soon.” She nodded again. “What are you about to go do?”
“Go back to the house and cook lunch. Maybe do some laundry,” she replied. He sat in his chair and stared at the young girl, trying to make sense of the situation. After a few minutes of silence, he sighed again and looked at his watch. “I have to go and meet the guys at the studio. I’ll walk you down.”
She nodded and followed him to the elevator. They were quiet on the way down, and he kept glancing over at her. She stared at the doors till they opened. Once outside the building, she smiled, shook his hand, and bid him farewell. She turned quickly and walked to her car. After shutting the door, she let it all out. Her hands started shaking violently, her breathing tripled, and her vision started to darken. She shook her head and reached into her pocket, pulling out her keys. She tried to shove them into the ignition, but her hands were shaking so badly that she kept missing. After a few tries, she finally got them in and turned the keys back so that the radio would come on.
The lovely sound of Bullet For My Valentine rang throughout the car. As she listened to the lyrics of “All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)”, she felt her body settling down. She wasn’t fully settled when the song started to end and Rammstein’s “Amour” started playing. About half way through the song, she felt her body stop shaking and her breathing returned to normal though she did feel a bit light-headed.
She opened the bottle of water in her cup holder and took a big swig of it. She sat there for a bit longer and just listened to whatever was playing. Once she was sure that everything was alright, she started the car and headed back to the flat.
Once she was back home and all the bags of things she had picked up were put away, she started on lunch. She was making a special stir-fry for the guys, to show her appreciation for everything they’ve done for her. While the pan heated up, she ran to her room and retrieved her speakers for her Zune.
After it was set up, she pressed play and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ “Atrophy” met her ears. She smiled and started bustling around the kitchen, grabbing pans, chopping food, while dancing and singing along. She was rocking along to the music with not a care in the world.
When the food was almost done, Tokio Hotel’s “Spring Nicht” started playing. She smiled and began to sway to the beat and sing along. She was singing as she stirred the food:
Über den Dächern,
ist es so kalt,
und so still.
Ich schweig Deinen Namen,
weil Du ihn jetzt,
nicht hören willst.
Der Abgrund der Stadt,
verschlingt jede Träne die fällt.
Da unten ist nichts mehr,
was Dich hier oben noch hällt.
As the music became more intense for the chorus, she tapped the spatula against the frying pan, and began to dance and do arm motions.
Ich schrei in die Nacht für Dich,
lass mich nicht im Stich,
Spring nicht.
Die lichter fangen Dich nicht,
sie betrügen Dich.
Spring nicht.
Erinner Dich,
an Dich und mich.
Die Welt da unten zählt nicht,
Bitte spring nicht.
She began to sway even more to the music and sing louder:
In Deinen Augen,
scheint alles sinnlos und leer.
Der Schnee fällt einsam,
Du spürst ihn schon lange nicht mehr.
Irgendwo da draussen,
bist Du verloren gegangen.
Du träumst von dem Ende,
um nochmal von vorn anzufangen.
As the chorus approached again, she began to emote more and singer louder:
Ich schrei in die Nacht für Dich,
lass mich nicht im Stich
Spring nicht.
Die lichter fangen Dich nicht,
sie betrügen Dich.
Spring nicht.
Erinner Dich,
an Dich und mich.
Die Welt da unten zählt nicht,
Bitte spring nicht.
The bridge approached and she began to reach out to something as she sang:
Ich weiss nicht wie lang,
Ich Dich halten kann.
Ich weiss nicht wie lang.
Nimm meine Hand,
wir fangen nochmal an.
Spring nicht.
At this point, she was using the spatula as a microphone and pretending she was in a part of a music video.
Ich schrei in die Nacht für Dich,
lass mich nicht im Stich
Spring nicht.
Die lichter fangen Dich nicht,
sie betrügen Dich.
Spring nicht.
Erinner Dich,
an Dich und mich.
Die Welt da unten zählt nicht,
Bitte spring nicht.
Spring nicht.
Und hält Dich das auch nicht zurück.
Dann spring ich für Dich.
As the song ended, she reached out one last time in front of her and held the pose as the last note played. There was a moment of complete silence, then clapping from the doorway startled Scarlett out of her music trance. She quickly threw the spatula towards the counter but it clattered to the floor, and grabbed a twelve inch cast-iron pan from the back of the stove she had used for her breakfast that morning.
She jerked it up, turning rather fast and tried to swing her weapon at the intruder, only to lose her balance and fall to the floor, the pan skidded off to somewhere unknown. The person ran over to her and reached towards her and said something in German. She screamed and flailed, trying to find something to defend herself with. Her hands skimmed around the floor till they hit something. It felt light so it wouldn’t seriously harm anyone; she glanced at it and saw it was the spatula. She grasped it firmly and began hitting the mysterious man in front of her. Eventually the positions were reversed, she was standing and he was squatting trying to protect himself from the blows. He began to yell, “Stop! STOP!!” She hesitated and hit him one last time which cause him to go “Oww!!”
She reared back, spatula raised and ready to attack, she looked at him, not blinking and half yelled, “Who are you and how did you get in here? The front door was locked!”
The man sat there rubbing a spot on the front of his head, near his hairline. He huffed and looked up at her. She took a moment and studied his features. He had chin length black hair and bangs that came to about his nose. He had a sharp nose and beautiful light blue eyes but the eyeliner he wore made them look darker. He was overall a very handsome and beautiful man. He seemed to be a few inches shorter than herself but had a very nice built body.
“I was invited over by my friend Yu,” he began explaining, pulling her from her observation. “Sorry. Did you say Yu? How do I know your telling the truth? You could be some sick stalker that gets his kicks from hurting innocent girls like me.”
He looked at her stunned and hurt, “That was mean and wrong. Yu really did invite me over. I’m Romeo. By the way, Yu gave me a key to the place.” She just glared at him. Right then a muffled sound began to play. He pulled a small cellphone out of his back pocket and Aiden’s “Die Romantic” echoed around the kitchen. She was stunned for a second but didn’t let her guard down. He quickly flipped the phone up to answer, “Ja? Oh hallo. Yu, dude why is there some chick in your house?.....No………Dude, she attacked me with a spatula!!”
She extended a hand to take the phone from him, he handed it over. She never let her hand with the spatula fall. “Yu? Hello?”
“YOU ATTACKED ROMEO WITH A SPAUTLA?!?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!” she pulled the phone away from her ear as the familiar voice yelled into the receiver. “Hey just be glad it wasn’t a cast-iron pan!! I had one in my hands but I fell and I don’t know where it is now!” she yelled back.
“YOU WERE GOING TO HIT HIM WITH A CAST IRON PAN?!?!” ‘What’s going on, Yu?’ she heard in the background. “Sorry. He just walked in. He didn’t ring the doorbell or knock or anything. I didn’t know who he was!! Plus the front door was locked. He scared me.”
A sigh emitted from the headset, “Look, I invited Romeo over for lunch.”
“Oh yeah. Well describe him to me.”
“What?”
“I want to make sure this is who you say it is.” Romeo looked at her with disbelief. Yu sighed again, and began saying, “Well, he has black hair about to his chin. He’s probably wearing black eyeliner and he has blue eyes. He might have his red and black star necklace. He’s about 3 or 4 inches shorter than me. And he’s wearing a ring on his left middle finger.” She quickly looked down and saw the ring and nodded, replying, “Okay, I’ll apologize and make sure he’s okay. By the way, lunch is almost done. How much longer are you guys going to be at the studio?”
“Maybe fifteen minutes.”
“Okay, I’ll see you when you get here. Here’s Romeo.” He handed the phone back to him and set the spatula on the counter and took the food off the burners as he said his goodbyes. Once the food was on the counter, she grabbed the spatula again to take it to the sink but stopped. Romeo was still on the floor nursing the same spot on his head. “Hey. I’m sorry. Are you okay?” She started towards him, he jerked back and pointed to her hand, “Put that somewhere will you??”
She looked down at her hand and saw the ‘weapon’ she had attacked him with. She quickly threw it towards the sink and turned back around quickly. She squatted in front of him and reached towards his hair. He flinched a little but she smiled and softly pushed his hair back. He had a little cut right in front of his hairline. She grimaced at what she had done.
“Let’s get you to the table.” She helped him up and went to retrieve the first aid kit she’d bought the day before. When she got back to the table, she took out and alcohol wipe and began to clean the blood that had dried to his head and hair, though she wasn’t being too gentle. So he was grimacing and saying “Owww.”
“Sorry it’s just dried into your hair. I’m trying to get most of it out.” He shook his head and replied, “It’s okay, just could you try and be a little gentler?” She glared down at him and pressed harder, which in turn caused him to yell “OWWWW!” She smirked and continued cleaning. She pressed one last time on his cut which caused him to yell again.
The quiet throughout the house was broken by the front door being slammed open. In came the members of the bands, looking horrified. Yu yelled, “What are you doing to him now?” She looked at him and then down with a hurt expression on her face. “I…..I was just trying to help.” Her lip began to tremble a bit but she bit down on it fast and turned to get a band-aid and some antibiotic ointment. She quickly dabbed the ointment onto the band-aid and pushed his hair back, gently, and placed it over his cut. She began to lean in to kiss the band-aid, something she had been doing for years due to her baby-sitting children. He looked up at her, causing her to stop. They locked eyes for a few moments. She blushed and quickly looked away.
She ran to the cabinets and began to pull plates, glasses, forks, spoons, knives, chopsticks, and napkins out and set them on the table. She turned back to the food and quickly put them into serving dishes and set them on the table and then ran to set the table up. Once that was done, she noticed everyone was standing in the same spots. She sent an embarrassed smile at them and quietly asked, “What does everyone want to drink?”
Kiro smiled at her and bounced over to her and wrapped his arm through hers. “I’ll help you with the drinks. Why don’t you guys sit and start eating?” He turned her away towards the fridge. “Thanks,” she whispered. He chuckled, “No problem.” They gathered different kinds of soda, juice, and teas and brought them to the table. They all sat, ate, and talked amongst themselves, Scarlett didn’t talk very much. She was sitting across from Yu and next to Romeo. She kept glancing over at him, but looked quickly away every time he caught her looking. Yu just quirked an eyebrow at the pair but continued to eat.
After everyone had their fill of food, they just sat and talked, while Kiro helped Scarlett gather up the dirty dishes and put them into the dishwasher. She leaned against the counter and observed the scene. She found it hard to believe that most of the men in front of her were part of an upcoming band. A fashion diva, a cute pixie, a shy rhythmus, a mysterious man, and two rockers. She smiled and turned back to the freezer and grabbed a carton of ice cream.
After they’d eaten dessert, the guys got up and bid Romeo and Scarlett farewell. When began gathering the bowls and went to take them to the sink and was surprised when she turned to find Romeo beside her. He smiled and turned towards the door to leave. She quickly ran after him and tugged on his shoulder. He turned to face her and she bit her lip and looked down. “Hey….I’m sorry for earlier. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
He smiled and shook his head, “Don’t worry about it, just don’t do it again.” She smiled and bit her lip. “Promise.”
He then left and locked the door behind him. She heaved a sigh and leaned at the wall. This day had more ups and downs then a roller coaster! She ran a hand through her hair and went back to finish the dishes. As she was putting more dishes into the dishwasher, she began to wonder if every day was going to be like this. She smirked, set the washer and went to go call her mom.
Okay tell me what you think. =)
I'm going to try and write now often, but we'll see how my life goes.
