A/N: Okay, so sorry if this chapter's not the best, my heart (and muse) is just not in it. Instead my muse has been lingering around the sequel(s) to this one, and a couple of other stories that I have in the works. My muse is just spastic it seems. Which seems to be why these updates take forever (that and school sucking all the life and free time out of me) But here it goes. Hope you enjoy.

Becca groaned as she rolled over and covered her eyes to shield out the small bit of sunshine that was streaming through the window at her already. She rolled over to try and escape the light but instead found herself without her cover and facing Sophie. It startled her at first, then she remembered how all the girls had sort of crashed at her house after having stayed up most of the night getting everything settled for Ivy’s wedding that was to be today. After the frenzy of planning and trying to get everything sorted out, Ivy was going to get married today, if for nothing but to skip the circus that was planning. Sure Becca was sometimes irked by the planning of her own wedding, but she wasn’t going to just give up and have a wedding with only a day’s notice. But then again, she wasn’t pregnant like Ivy. So perhaps that was why she had caused such a fuss.
Becca carefully slid out of her bed, avoiding Sophie on one side and Viv on the other. Since Becca had a pretty large bed, it hadn’t been any problem with them sleeping together comfortably. But at the moment, she was in need of a shower and some breakfast. So she grabbed her bathrobe and went to grab a quick shower before Ivy woke up and started the dash of the morning sickness, as Becca called it. She had just gotten into the warm water when someone started banging on the bathroom door, Ivy no doubt. “Just got in. Try the other bathroom.”
Becca knew that she would get it when she got out of the shower, but at the moment, she didn’t care. Because at the moment, she wasn’t worrying about anything, just letting the warm water start to wake her up. After all, she couldn’t really help but feel less than pleased with having her morning shower interrupted already so soon after it had started. She quickly finished and stepped out of the shower, drying off and wrapping herself in the bathrobe before heading back to her room to throw her things back down and head downstairs to grab something for breakfast.
When she reached the kitchen, Becca found her mother scrambling around the room tossing things together to try and make sure that she had everything set up and ready for the wedding today. They had been up most of the night cooking and getting things sorted out for the meal, and it seemed that Mama Wentz had already been up for several hours this morning.
“Morning, Mama. You know, you don’t have to scurry around like a crazy person. You can step back and breathe for a little bit. After all, it’s not like you can really do anything one way or another to actually affect the way things are going to turn out. Just let the ball spin.” Becca wrapped her arms around the older woman, causing her to stop for probably the first time all morning.
Becca quickly gave her mother a kiss on the cheek before moving to grab a bagel from the pantry and some spread from the fridge and walking back over to the small island in the middle of the kitchen, far enough out of the way to where she wouldn’t get in trouble, but close enough that she could still stay in the middle of things.
Just before Mama Wentz could give Becca more than a frown, Ivy walked into the kitchen, but spun around and ran off back to the bathroom at the sight of the food being prepared. Becca sighed and leaned her head on her hand, resting her elbow on the counter. It looked like another long day for them all. Although hopefully (for all their sakes) things would turn out to be smoother than they were looking to be at the moment.
“Rebecca, did you and Sophia finish the vegetarian dishes? Or should I start working on those too? Can you hand me the icing tube?” Mama Wentz bustled about the kitchen even as she was asking Becca the questions. Becca couldn’t help but laugh as she watched her mother scramble around needlessly.
“Of course we finished, Mama. We finished them last night. All we have to do is heat them up before the reception and all is well. And Mama, here’s the icing tube.” She held up the tube with a smile on her face at her mother’s obvious distraction. All of her life, Becca had never known her mother to be calm in any sort of situation.
Mama Wentz shook her head at the smirk on Becca’s face and took the icing tube from her and proceeded to rush about the kitchen more. “You know, you don’t have to give me that smirk, Rebecca. After all, it is understandable that I be a little preoccupied you know. Given that Peter is getting married today. My goodness, where did Viviana put that icing?”
Becca laughed as her mother started bustling around again. Sometimes she worried about her mother, especially how she would always bustle about the kitchen whenever something monumental was happening. But Becca’s cell phone started to ring and she raised an eyebrow wondering who would be calling her this early on a Saturday morning, but then when she saw the name on the ID, she smiled and motioned towards the door, excusing herself from her mother.
“Hey, Patrick. I would ask what you were doing up so early on a Saturday, but I think I already know the answer to that question. How’s Petey?” Becca smiled as she went into the small office and curled up in one of the desk chairs.
“Well, he’s already been up pacing around this morning. You don’t know how long it took me and Ryan to get him to stay the night here instead of going back to your house. Thankfully I managed to keep him here by threatening him with the wrath of a very agitated pregnant woman.”
Becca laughed at the threat of pitting Ivy against Petey. She could really imagine her brother cowing at the threat of Ivy, that was for sure. “That sounds like a perfect threat for Petey. Brilliant work, darling.” Patrick chuckled and Becca was sure that he had blushed at the compliment. But it was just adorableness that came with Patrick. “How is the guy’s end of things going? I’m sure it can’t be any crazier than all the stuff that we’ve been doing over here. Which reminds me, I have to get some of that medicine Viv had for Cat’s wedding to keep the preggers from spewing in the middle of the wedding.”
Patrick laughed on the other line. “Oh yes, that wouldn’t be the best of ideas. Especially since one of them is the bride.” Becca heard her brother mentioning something on the other end of the conversation, and Patrick chuckled. “Okay, here, your brother’s wanting to say something.”
Becca laughed before her brother took the phone and almost instantly started talking. “Beckanne, how’s Ivy doing? Is Mama finished with everything? Everything’s finished, right?” Becca could tell that Pete was nervous, just by the way he was rambling on and on about all the worries. To be honest, she wasn’t sure who was the most nervous about today, Pete, Ivy, or Mama Wentz.
“Petey, calm down. Everything’s fine. We’re all settled here. You know how Mama is with these sorts of things. So don’t worry about it all, honestly. We have everything under control, Petey. Don’t worry about anything. Just worry about getting married today. Now is that all you wanted to ask me?”
Pete sighed and Becca could tell that he was upset with just the way he seemed to relax all because of the sigh and how he had been so easily reassured. She smiled as she heard the phone being handed off and Patrick’s voice saying something to her brother. Patrick’s chuckle filtered through the phone, and Becca found herself grinning. It was strange to think that just the sound of his laugh or voice made her smile. But she knew that it was meant to be. Or at least that was what her dad had told her one time at lunch with Patrick.
“Okay, so I guess I should let you get back to the chaos there and I’ll try to keep your brother safe and get him to the wedding on time. Reminds me of Ryan’s wedding chaos. He’s getting married in the morning. Ding dong the bells are gonna chime.” Patrick started singing showtunes, and Becca couldn’t help but giggle again. She had told him plenty of times that if something happened with the band, that he definitely should go on stage. But of course, he had always shook it off in his normal shy manner.
“Yeah, I should probably go and make sure that Ivy isn’t drowning herself in the tub. I’ll see you at the park then. Love you.” Becca smiled as Patrick returned the affection and hung up. She put her cell phone back in the pocket of her robe before heading back out into the kitchen to see how things were progressing before she had to herd Ivy into the upstairs room to get everything settled for the actual wedding, which was in a few hours.
