Rock of Ages, Forever Pt81
In the weeks following everyone return from their mini vacation, everyone was busy getting ready for the tour to start. A definite date hadn’t been settled on yet, pending Joe’s full recovery from his injuries. Rebecca recovered from hers quickly and had already slept with Sav several times to reassure him that she was ok and didn’t blame him for what had happened. But the distance between Sav and Joe remained, it was driving everyone to distraction at the way the two of them were behaving, even Nick.
It surprised everyone for his concern about them and their lack of attention toward each other. He did this with the knowledge that they had slept together. That in itself, was a total shock, because they had figured Nick would fly off the deep end and do something drastic to Sav. When he didn’t, they were thrown for another shock.
Joe was sitting in the living room late in the evening with everyone watching a football(soccer)game on the TV, he really wasn't paying attention to it. His mind was elsewhere and finally decided that this had to stop. He got up and headed to the studio, his strides long and full of confidence. Phil saw him leave and sighed with relief at knowing what he was going to do.
Joe went into the room and saw Sav propped on the piano, deep in thought as he tinkered with the keys, sending soft music through the room.
“Hey Sav what’s up?”
He jumped slightly at hearing Joe’s voice. “Nothing really.”
“What are you working on?”
“Nothing.” Sav replied shrugging his shoulders.
“Sounds good what ever it is.”
“Just a bunch of notes that doesn’t sound like anything.”
'Ok this is going nowhere fast.' Joe thought. He walked over to the console and noticed the iron cuffs laying there. He picked them up and traced the dark blood stains with his finger. “Where did these come from?”
Sav looked up at him holding the cuffs. “They were sent to me.”
“Why?”
“A reminder.”
“From the time we were in color:#000080">Paris?” Joe asked.
Sav only nodded and went back to playing.
“You never told me everything about those days.”
Sav ignored his comment, shifting his positions on the bench. Joe put the cuffs back on the console.
“What are you doing tonight?” he asked Sav.
“Nothing.”
“We’re all watching a football game, want to join us?”
“No.”
'Now what, he’s back to one word answers.' Joe throwing up his hands. 'This is not what I was hoping to achieve. I need a new tactic.' Making up his mind, Joe went over to Sav and grabbed his shirt, hauling him to his feet. “Come on.”
Sav protested for only a minute and gave up, allowing Joe to drag him from the room and headed toward the front door. Joe’s gripped remained until they reached his car, shoving him in the passenger seat. Joe slid into the driver seat and took off down the road.
“Where are we going?” Sav finally asked.
“Out.” Joe replied quickly.
“That I can see.”
“Away from the house so we can talk.”
“Talk about what?”
“Us…and what happened.”
Sav’s gaze spun toward him. “Stop the car Joe.”
“Nope.”
“I’ll jump out.”
“No you wont.”
Sav slumped down in his seat to settle on staring out the window for the remainder of the ride, that was in silence. Joe pulled up in front of the pub about a half hour later and turned the car off. He reached under the seat to pull out a bottle of blood wine. Not wanting Sav to bolt when he got out, Joe meet him just as the door was opening.
“And don’t try to fly away.” he told Sav, grabbing his shirtsleeve again. Pulling him inside, they took a booth in the back of the pub. “I even brought something for the occasion.” Joe told him, holding up the bottle.
The waitress came over to take their order.
“Two whiskeys in tall glasses.” Joe told her.
“We could have done this at the house.” Sav sighed heavily, then slid down in the soft cushion.
“No, to many distraction there. This is better because it’s just the two of us.”
The waitress brought their drinks and left. Joe popped the cork and poured a small amount of blood in each of their glasses. He picked his up and held it over to Sav, waiting for him to do the same, when he did, Joe touched his glass in a toast.
“Here’s to working out our fucking problem.” Joe said and downed his drink in one gulp. He shuddered at the sore taste as it burned down his throat. He signaled the waitress back over. “Just bring the bottle.” he told her. A few minutes later, she sat the bottle on the table and he poured another for them.
“Where do you want to start?” Joe asked.
“This was your idea.”
“And you’re not going to make it hard to talk about, by using one word answers.”
Sav made a move to get up and Joe swung his foot up in the seat to keep him there.
“Rule number two, do not leave that seat.”
Looking up at Joe, under his bangs and a sly smile, Sav asked, “What happened to rule number one?”
“Rule number one is that Joe won’t get pissed, because Rick won’t talk to him.”
“Fair enough.” Sav replied, dropping his gaze to his drink.
“Good.” Joe smiled.
Silence settled over the table.
“Why are you still blaming yourself for what happened?” Joe finally asked.
Sav twirled his glass around on the table, making an annoying noise until Joe reached out and stopped it. “I….uh…should…yes I do.”
“Why?”
“If I never would have stayed…”
Joe cut him off. “Uu…here we go again with the what if’s.”
“Are you going to let me finish?”
“No, because I know what your going to say. Could you have really stayed away…..no, and how do I know that? Where did you come when you got away from Nick? How many times did you come back after you left? And why?”
Sav glanced up at the ceiling. “Your right about the first one. You know me better than anybody. I don’t remember, and why…” Sav captured his gaze. “You and the music.”
“How many times have I forgiven you?”
Sighing heavily and looking away from him again, Sav softly replied, “Every time.”
“Rule three, no single word answers.” Joe said quickly.
Sav thought about his answer, knowing what Joe wanted to hear before he spoke. “Because I shouldn’t lay all the blame on myself for everything that has happened.”
“That’s right, you had no control over your actions and I understand that.”
“I …..almost forced you Joe, how can you not forget that?”
“I think rape is a better word, and no I haven’t forgotten.”
When he looked up at Joe the regret on his face was clear.
“But you didn’t, and I think the relationship we’ve had over the last eighteen years is enough to get us past everything, and will get use through the next eighteen. It hasn't been easy for me to forgive you for what happened, I don't even know why I have, for all of it really.” Joe looked down at his own drink, then continued, "But, I have. I want our friendship to continue to improve, along with our growing closer friendship."
Sav didn’t know what to say. After all that he has done to Joe, he has forgiven him, and still wants their relationship to continue. “I told Nick about us…and how I may never have that pleasure again to be with you.”
“Did you ever hear me say that I regretted those times we were together?”
“No, but I thought that after what happened, you wouldn’t want to again.”
“I never said that, never implied that I didn't...I do want to be with you. I don't know what's made me want this kind of intimate relationship with you, but I do.”
Sav’s heart beat several times in his chest at hearing Joe say that. “You don’t know how much this means to me Joe, telling me all of this and that you don’t hold any of it against me.”
“Then why have you been sulking around the house like I hate you or something?”
“Truthfully, because I thought you did.”
“Well, you can stop thinking that now because I don’t.”
They sat in silence for a long time and finished the bottle of liquor. Both of them were feeling slightly drunk.
“Damn, we drank the whole bottle.” Joe commented as the last few drops dripped into his glass. “I’m feeling a little….”
“Drunk.” Sav finished for him. “Maybe we should go before we drink anymore.”
“Good idea.” Joe said and slid from the seat, he swayed on his feet a little and Sav held his arm to help him to the car. “Here, maybe you should drive.” Tossing him the keys.
“And you think I’m any more sober?”
“No, but you have faster reflexes right now.”
Sav chuckled at that and got in the car. He drove them back to the house at break neck speed.
“Do you feel any better now?” Joe asked.
“Yeah, but I still need to wrestle with a few demons in my head.”
“Demons?” Joe said puzzled.
“They don’t want to seem to forgive and forget as easy as yours.”
“Well wrestle with them another time.” Joe said softly. Reaching over to lightly run his finger along his neck, further down on his chest to pinch his nipple through his shirt, causing Sav to swerve on the road.
In the small confines of the car, Joe had no problem running his hand over his chest and further down to the top of his jeans. Sav shifted nervously in his seat and tried to keep the car on the road.
“Damnit Joe, don’t tease me.” Sav rasped out, after a quick glance over at him.
“Who said I was teasing?”
Sav turned the car sharply into the driveway of the house, going only went a few hundred feet, when he jerked the wheel to the right. The car bounced into the small field. He turned the car off, then got out to lean against the side.
Joe soon followed him, he went around the car to stand in front of him. Not giving him a chance to object, Joe leaned his body on him and kissed him. It was deep, passionate and filled with longing, their tongues danced together to fuel the fire inside them. Joe grabbed his hands, shoving them behind Sav, then he leaned more of his weight against him as he moved to his neck, sucking and nipping lightly.
“If you don’t think you can do this, just stop me.”
“I’m…ok.” Sav replied breathlessly.
Joe leaned back slightly to unbutton Sav's shirt, gently moving it away to allow his tongue to trail across his chest. It didn’t take much for Sav to quickly change their position and had Joe pinned to the car. His fangs erupted in his mouth when Joe dove his tongue in to taste the sweet blood wine and whiskey. Buttons and zippers popped open easily, flesh exposed to the cool night air, their hands groping each other, working their heated bodies into a frenzy.
Sav was quickly making his way downward on Joe’s chest, his hand tightly around his hard shaft. A soft moan passed his lips when Sav sang his fangs briefly into his stomach. Joe felt him stand, crushing his mouth as redid his jeans. Sav took a step away from him, jabbing his hands deep in his pockets, his breath raw and haggard.
“What’s wrong?” Joe asked.
“It’s….uh…to soon, I don’t think I….”
“How do you know, unless your try.” Joe said, his own desires burning.
Sav finally looked up at him. Joe saw his fangs glistening in the moonlight.
“Until I can keep this part of me under control, I don’t want to take the chance and be alone with you, for fear of what I
might do.”
“Then just take a little.”
“It wont be a little Joe. It’ll be all of it to the point where I would have to bring you across, and that is not what you want right now.”
“What about those times in the studio and the kitchen, we were alone?”
“I did that to please you, not myself.”
“But you did and only took a little.”
“And on the balcony at Rebecca’s was very different. Do you remember how that felt?”
“Yes, very intense. I’ve never felt any thing like it.”
“Now compare the two and how much I want you and you’ll understand.”
Joe thought about it a moment. Sav had moved closer to him to caress his face. That’s when he felt Sav trembling from the effort it was taking him to stay in control. Joe leaned forward and lightly brushed his lips. “What does it matter weather you bring me across tonight or some other night?”
“It matters to you Joe.” Sav replied softly.
“I want to. I want to know what's it like...all of it.”
Sav dropped his head back, fighting with his desire to give into Joe's words. He felt him trail his warm lips over his throat and gently pushed him away. “No.”
Joe looked at him with bewilderment. “One day it will be just the two of us.”
“And I dream of that day.” Sav whispered. He leaned forward to kiss him again and suddenly turned away, staring off in the distance.
“What?” Joe said, looking in the direction he was. “Probably a deer.”
“No…it was... I felt…something…familiar...” Sav had moved to the back of the car, staring intently toward the woods. Minutes ticked by until he turned back to Joe. “Come on, we need to get back.”
They got back in the car and Sav put it in gear. The engine roared, but the car remained still. Sav tried again with the same results. He looked over at Joe sheepishly. “I think I broke it.”
“Broke it!”
Silence filled the car as they looked at each other. Then they both erupted in laughter. In his hast to get out of the car, Sav had shoved the gear stick so hard, it had broken inside the steering column.
“Well I guess we’re walking.”
“It’s not that far, beside I need to walk off this hard on anyway.” Joe stated.
They got out of the car and headed toward the house on foot. Joe was slightly behind Sav watching him, he moved up behind, wrapping his arms around his waist.
“You have a very sexy walk, did you know that?” Joe whispered in his ear.
“No I haven’t, but you did.” Sav replied and slowed his pace.
“No, keep walk.” Joe told him and bent his head down to bite his shoulder lightly.
“Your playing with fire Joe.”
“I know.” he replied softly, sucking his ear. “This feels good, rubbing against you like this.”
Sav stumbled, almost sending them to the ground. Finally making it to the steps and throwing open the front door. Joe leaned against it as it shut, pulling Sav against him as it closed. Sav turned in his arms, crushing his lips. Joe immediately turned him, shoving him back on the door. He trailed his tongue down his neck, biting his flesh and sucking it into his mouth.
“You need to stop…Joe.” Sav choked out. He opened his eyes just in time to see Nick coming down the hall from his office. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw them. Sav cleared his throat and quickly pushed Joe away to stare back at Nick.
“What….?” Joe questioned, turning his head to see Nick. “Oh.” Turning back to Sav, stifling his laugh and boldly leaned back down to kiss him. “I hope Rebecca’s not asleep.” Joe whispered. “Later then?”
”Yeah, sure.” Sav replied.
Joe turned from him and headed toward the stairs. “Good night Nick.”
Sav watched him go and his eyes darted back to Nick.
“I trust that you and Mr. Elliott had a good evening together.”
Sav walked over to him. “Yes we did.”
Nick could smell the blood wine in his breath. “And?”
“And nothing happened, other than what you saw, and now I need some relief.” Sav leaned in quickly and kissed him, catching Nick off guard. Sav spun on his heels and went upstairs, Nick hot on his heels.
