A/N: Okay, so I'm back at home for the summer again *groan* so hopefully updates should speed by. This story should only have a few more chapters anyways. Then I can start on the sequel (which Cat and I already have a few chapters each written, just waiting to be posted). Also be on the lookout for a few new stories that I've been working on over time. These should be quicker to update/finish because I'm enforcing a new rule that I have to finish them in a notebook before I start posting. That way I won't leave my loverly readers/reviewbies hanging while waiting for my plot bunnies to cooperate (they've been rather cantankerous lately). Also apologies that these next chapters will seem to skip loads of time in the storyline, but I just can't wait to get to the actual wedding (and then sequel-s-). So the chapters might seem to jump a lot of time, but that's just the way I want to do it, and I'm the writer, so that's what you get. But anyways - here's the newest chapter, and I'm off to continue writing while I have a relative moment's peace at my house. Enjoy! *hugs*

“Rebecca, could you come in here for a moment, please?”
Becca hopped up from the couch where she had been watching a movie with Cat and headed into the downstairs office, following her mother. She didn’t know what was up, but hoped it wasn’t anything bad. Because if she was in trouble, she didn’t know what it was for. Or at least, what she might have done that could merit getting in trouble with her mother.
“You’re not in trouble, Rebecca, so stop dawdling.” Mama Wentz laughed lightly as she stuck her head out from around the doorframe with a teasing grin. She went back into the office, just as Becca walked around the corner in the hallway.
Becca shook her head at her mother’s teasing. Although this made her even more curious as to why Mama Wentz wanted to talk to her. Becca and Cat had been watching movies and chatting about possible wedding plans for Becca, as it was now her turn, it seemed. So hopefully it wasn’t anything terrible.
When she walked into the downstairs office, Becca didn’t expect to see what her mom was holding. It was the familiar wedding dress that had been her mother’s. Becca’s mouth hung open a little in shock and slight confusion. This was obviously amusing to Mama Wentz, who laughed and shook her head.
“Rebecca, close your mouth. You look as if you’re trying to catch bugs or something. Come here and let’s see if this old thing fits you. Your first part of the rhyme. Something old.” Mama Wentz smiled, knowing that Patrick and Becca’s wedding was going to be a very old-fashioned and traditional wedding, just from knowing the two of them.
Becca shook her head, not really knowing what to say at the offer. “Mama, I can’t take your wedding dress. Not that I don’t appreciate the offer, I just can’t take your dress.” She stared at the familiar lace and lightly ran a hand over the floral pattern, unable to keep the smile from sliding onto her face. She could remember when she was younger when her mother would show her the dress promising her that when it was her turn to get married that she would wear this dress and look just like the princess that she was.
“Rebecca don’t be silly. This dress is very much yours now. I gave it to you when you were just a little girl. And now you’re getting married, and so the dress is yours. I won’t hear of you wearing anything else. So come here and let’s see if it fits or if I need to make some adjustments.”
Becca smiled as her mom reminded her that she had been promised the dress since she was a little kid. She had almost forgotten about that until just now. And it made her feel special to think of wearing this particular dress for her own wedding. She stepped out of her jeans and into the dress, pulling the t-shirt off and gently pulling up the dress, sliding her arms into the straps. Mama Wentz stepped behind Becca to button the pearl buttons along the back. When she finished she stepped back around and smiled at Becca.
There was a low whistle from the doorway, and Becca turned to find Cat standing in the doorway with a smile on her face. “It’s gorgeous, Becca. And that takes care of one of the things we were going to have to plan. One less thing to worry about. Perfect.”
Becca turned back to her mother and noticed a few tears in the older woman’s eyes. “Mama, are you okay? Does the dress fit?” She tried to maneuver her hands behind her back to where she could undo the buttons and step out of the dress to keep from hurting it.
“It’s nothing, Rebecca. Just your mother being a sap. Don’t worry about me. And it fits perfectly. Almost as if it was made for you as well. Now come and let’s get out of it before you jinx it. We’ll just keep it put out of the way for you. And for your big day we’ll have it ready and waiting for you.” Mama Wentz stepped behind Becca and unbuttoned the dress and helped slide it off of Becca before hanging it back on the hanger.
Cat was giggling from the doorway, and Becca turned back to her with a suspicious frown as she pulled back on her jeans and t-shirt. “What’s so funny, Cat?” She crossed her arms over her chest as she stared down her friend with a playful glare.
Cat shook her head with a grin, causing Becca to frown even more. “Nothing, Becca. Just laughing at how you’re going to be an old married woman soon enough. And just having that dress already sitting and waiting for you is just another reason to show that your wedding is coming up crazy fast.
Becca laughed as Cat teased her about being an ‘old married woman’. “Are you forgetting that you’re married yourself, Cat? Or did you just call yourself an old married woman too?”
“Oh no, I’m not an old married woman. My husband still thinks its fun to shake things up. You’re getting an old-fashioned stick in the mud.” Cat grinned mischievously, no doubt enjoying teasing Becca and Patrick.
Becca laughed as Cat playfully called Patrick a stick in the mud. Although she couldn’t argue that he was old-fashioned. That everyone knew. “I’m not too sure Patrick would like to hear him being called a ‘stick in the mud’. Especially since it’s coming from my maid of honor.”
Cat’s mouth dropped open in shock, causing both Becca and Mama Wentz to burst out laughing. Mama Wentz was still shaking her head, giggling lightly to herself as she walked out of the office heading towards the kitchen. Becca sat down in the office chair, unable to stop laughing.
“Becca, you can’t be serious! I thought Ivy was your maid of honor. I mean, I’m flattered, of course. But this is just a bit unexpected.” Cat still looked as if she had just been slapped in the face, and Becca couldn’t contain the giggles again.
“Ivy is still going to be up there with me, I just want you to be maid of honor. I haven’t told Ivy yet, because she’s still on her honeymoon, and I didn’t want to have her going spazzy when she should be enjoying herself. That and I don’t want to have Petey try to come home early. I don’t think I could handle pregnant Ivy while trying to finish up the plans for the wedding. And if Ivy does complain – I’ll just put the title of ‘matron of honor’ on her. She is pregnant, after all.”
Becca bit her lower lip as she finished explaining the change of orders to her wedding party. She had debated about the change for weeks, and had talked to Patrick who reassured her that whatever she decided would be fine with him. She hated to think that she was kicking someone out, but she had decided that it would mean more for her to have Cat standing beside her on her own special day.
“Wow, Becca. This is going to be an interesting reveal to Ivy. I might just have to be there with you to watch. I’ll bring the popcorn!” Cat giggled as she teased Becca about what could happen when she told Ivy about the change in ordering for her wedding. She shook her head and grabbed Becca in a hug. “Come on, we still have to figure out everything else to do with the wedding. And that’s not much left. Just think, Becca, you’re almost finished planning your wedding! Soon enough you’ll be doing the actual wedding.”
Becca’s expression must have revealed something, because Cat was soon giggling again. She grabbed Becca in a hug before pulling her off towards the living room. “Come on, the movie’s almost over. Then we’ll go see what Viv has left to do on the other dresses. That will make it one less thing to worry about. And then you’re going to be an old married woman, just like me. We can sit and knit sweaters and feed our houseful of cats.”
Becca shook her head, laughing at Cat’s eccentrics. Only Cat could think of them as being old cat ladies, when they were barely in their twenties. “Only you, Cat. Only you.”
Cat stuck her tongue out at Becca playfully. “Just come on and let’s finish the movie. I want to see the happy ending. And we both know that’s how it’s going to end. It’s a chick flick – they ALWAYS end happy.”

A/N 2: Okay, so in case you're wondering what my idea of the dress is - I have it on photobucket! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a160/erskinephan/Pics%20for%20my%20Ficcy/Wedding%20Stuff/beccasgown.jpg Just without the sash thing (and the flower in her hair - not very Becca). The sash thing will come in later chapters, but not the original dress. So hope that helps. There's only one way for me to know what you think ... Yep, REVIEW. XD *hugs*
