A/N: Okay, so I managed to squeeze out a chapter in between my distraction and life (including my brother's high school graduation). So here's a chapter, I'm working on the next, I can't promise when it will be posted, but as soon as I finish it, I'll try to post it up. Only one or two more chapters to go and then the story is complete! So without any further nonsense, here's the chapter. Enjoy!! *hugs*

Here it was. The big day. Becca stood downstairs in her house trying to keep from pacing around the living room as she waited for the finishing touches to be made to April and Ivy’s bridesmaid dresses. Luckily for Becca, the style was loose enough that it didn’t matter if the two were very pregnant. Viv and Cat were both busy trying to arrange the small stringed tie around the two other girls’ waists so that they wouldn’t complain about being highly pregnant. At least April seemed to have acquiesced over the fact that the dresses were a dark navy blue.
Becca was stopped from pacing by a pair of arms wrapping around her waist. She jumped before spinning around, only to be face to face with Spencer who was grinning. “Whoa, Reby. Calm down a little. I don’t know who’s more nervous you or Patrick.”
Spencer chuckled as Becca seemed to relax and wrap her arms around his waist in a hug, leaning her head against his chest. “Spence you don’t know how good it is to see a friendly face that isn’t freaking out over something. Is Patrick alright?” Becca pulled back and looked at Spencer’s face to see the actual truth rather than whatever he might tell her.
Spencer laughed at Becca’s nervous rambling. It seemed she was quite wound up over the day. He shook his head and gave her a gentle squeeze. “Don’t worry about it, Reby. Everything will be perfect. You just get to parade around in a fancy dress looking even more gorgeous than we all think you are already. And then you get to let everyone know how crazy you and Patrick are about each other – as if we didn’t already know. Besides, if nothing else, you get to see me spiffed up in a tuxedo – again.”
Becca laughed before leaning up and leaving a kiss on Spencer’s cheek. “Thanks, Spencey. But that does make me wonder, what brings you here? Shouldn’t you be off getting all ‘spiffed up’? After all, if I am going to be overshadowed by your spiffiness, you better get started or I’ll beat you.” She grinned as he pulled back with a mock appalled look on his face.
“You wouldn’t!” Spencer faked a look of horror before smiling and pulling a small black box out of his pocket and holding it out to Becca. “I am here on a mission from your very soon to be husband. He figured since I helped with the shopping mission that I could deliver it. That and, don’t tell your latest sister, but Pete was scared to come anywhere near you girls while Ivy was getting ready.”
Becca laughed at the mention of Pete being scared of coming near the house while the girls were getting ready for the wedding. She took the box from Spencer and opened it, smiling at the folded slip of paper that had no doubt been slipped in at the last second with Patrick’s familiar handwriting on it.
‘Something new for my beautiful bride. –
From the moment I knew to my last dying breath you will hold my heart and everything I am. From yesterday until tomorrow, forever and always. You are the light of my life and the meaning behind my music. I can’t fathom how I could deserve such an amazing person as you in my life, so I will just accept the precious gift and cherish and adore you every moment of every day and night.
This is a poor shadow to my love for you, but I have never been good with words. Ask Spencer for the CD, it has my love for you written out better than this simple attempt at flowery words. I hope you like the necklace, it’s something for the rhyme (your mom and Cat told me you didn’t have this part yet). You are going to be a radiantly beautiful bride, and I count the seconds until I see you walking towards me.
All my love – Patrick’
Becca wiped aimlessly at the tears that were streaming down her cheeks from the note, a bright smile on her face. That was just the sort of thing that she would have expected from Patrick. She heard a sniffle from behind her and turned to look up at Spencer, who seemed to be teary-eyed as well. She giggled and wrapped her arms around Spencer in a light hug.
Spencer cleared his throat when he realized that Becca had noticed his tears. “Now that was a love letter.” He smiled as Becca giggled with a nod, her face still buried in his chest. “At least I don’t have to worry about the macho assumption that guys aren’t supposed to cry. I have immunity.”
Becca laughed as Spencer commented about him having immunity from the macho guy assumptions, no doubt because he was gay. “Spencey, you have some serious mental issues. But that’s just one of the reasons I love you so much. Now, perhaps you should hand over the CD and head off to get ready yourself?”
Spencer laughed and reached into his pocket again and pulled out a CD case and handed it to Becca with a grin. “It’s gorgeous, Reby. I can’t say I was there when he recorded it, but I’ve heard what’s on this little CD and it’s gorgeous. Not that I have to say it – but, Patrick’s hopelessly in love with you. You two are going to be so happy together that you can’t see two inches in front of your faces. But now it’s time for me to go spiffy up for the wedding. Wouldn’t want to get showed up by the bride, would I?”
“Of course not.” Becca laughed and kissed Spencer on the cheek again. “But before you go, could you take this to Patrick? It’s nothing to compare to his present, but at least it’s something from me.” She rushed over to the desk where she had been hiding Patrick’s wedding present ever since she had finished putting it together. She had spent nearly a week embroidering a set of handkerchiefs and had bought him a fancy top hat to add to his massive collection of hats. Not to mention she had a special video project that she had made for her exam in advanced film animation. But the video would wait until later at the reception.
Becca carried the box over to Spencer and gave it to him with a grin, as he had been the one to go shopping with her as well. He chuckled before heading out the door, shaking his head in amusement the entire way.
“Rebecca Anne Marie Wentz, stop flirting with the groomsman and get in here and get ready! You’re going to be late for your own wedding!” Cat’s teasing voice made her realize that she was still not completely ready. Becca rushed back into the main room and laughed at the look of teasing frustration on Cat’s face. Of course Cat knew how crazy distracted Becca would be today, but that didn’t mean the teasing would be absent.
Becca ignored Cat’s teasing glare and walked over to the CD player in the corner of the room and put in Patrick’s CD and pressed play before heading back across the room to start getting ready. When she made it back over to the opposite side of the room where her dress was sitting, Patrick’s voice came over the speakers causing Becca to giggle at the playful introduction to the CD.
“So if you’re hearing this, then you must be getting ready for our wedding, and I should be too. Then again, maybe I’m already pacing around in my tux. Maybe we’re all just waiting around on you to get finished getting ready so we can start the ceremony. But whatever the truth, I want to tell you again that I love you and cannot wait to see you with me in your dress at the front of the church with me. I love you and can only send this with my love before the wedding. This is my song for you. Love you, Doodle.”
As Becca was pulling on her dress, she stopped as the soft sound of a piano playing a soft, romantic nocturne. The rolling melody seemed to tell a story, and Becca just stood there stunned by the beauty of the music, lulled into a calm state of relaxation, all nerves of the wedding wiped away. Instead she was just comforted. The music seemed to wrap her in the warmth of a familiar embrace.
When the song stopped, Becca shook herself out of the near hypnotic state from the music. She glanced down and realized that the dress had already been buttoned behind her, and there was also a dark blue sash tied around her waist, the same dark blue fabric of the bridesmaid dresses. She glanced up confused and saw Viv and Cat looking as if they were about to burst out laughing at her.
“Something blue. Besides, it looks gorgeous.” Viv smiled as she moved to arrange the mass of Becca’s curls into some semblance of order. Becca had insisted on having her hair down, given that wearing her hair down was Patrick’s favorite. And so Viv had volunteered to manage the hair aspect of things. Cat, had insisted on the makeup. So Becca sat and let her two friends pamper her while Sophie was busy keeping Ivy and April from killing each other.
After the shortest time imaginable, Viv and Cat stepped back to each look over their ‘work’. They both seemed satisfied and Viv stepped back around to fasten the necklace and Becca slipped on the earrings before looking around for her shoes. Cat grinned holding up the pair of shoes in one hand and a small coin in the other.
“A sixpence in your shoe.” Cat dropped the coin one of the shoes before handing it to Becca with a grin. “Now you’re all rhymed out. Let’s get this show on the road!”
Becca shook her head laughing as Cat moved to push everyone off towards the vehicles to head for the church. And with that thought came the realization that she was getting closer to her wedding. A small flicker of panic seemed to worry her before she remembered her song from Patrick and she was calm again.
“Come on slow poke! It’s time to go to the church. Patrick would likely have my head if I didn’t get you to the church on time for your own wedding. And I like my head right where it’s at, thank you very much.” Cat playfully stuck her tongue out at Becca before grabbing her hand and pulling her out towards the car heading to the church.
