Just a few hours later, Diana was handcuffed to an old rusty iron bed. She was in that underground shack Mikey had found a few days earlier, in the Black Rock Desert.
Mikey and Pete were currently unseen and she could barely make out faint whispering going on in the next room. Her hair was a mess, frizzy and dry because of walking through the desert's heat and dry air. She was still in her pj’s that were now covered in a light dusting of dirt, only a strapy tank top and sweat pants that were cut off by the middle part of her lower legs. The right side of her mouth showed off cracked dry blood as a result of where Mikey had hit her for not cooperating with getting in the shack fast enough.
In the next room, a conversation was being held that Diana couldn’t hear. “Hey Pete, just go do it,” Mikey said in a flat voice.
“What, right now, we’ve only just gotten here.” Pete couldn’t understand Mikey at all now a days even if that guy came with a manual he still wouldn‘t get him.
“Just trust me on this, I want her to be ready for me.”
Silence. The two men just looked at each other.
“Alright...ok.” Pete walked off and went into the next room where Diana was.
Mikey stayed where he was and tucked away the gun back into his pants that he had just been showing off to Pete as a warning, because if Pete didn’t do as Mikey wanted there would be very bad consequences.
