Bill talks to a stranger, sometimes the things that are in front of us are seen through a stranger's point of view....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Bill woke up again he groaned and grabbed his head. Damn, he felt like he was whacked with a hammer. He softly touched the gash on his forehead and hissed. “Crap, that hurts!” he tried to talk out loud but his throat still hurted like hell.
He looked at his injuries to see if they had worsened, but luckily as far he could see every single one of them seemed to be okay. Well, as far as you can call it okay. The swelling on his right arm had lessened or so it seemed but he still couldn’t move it without it hurt.
While testing his arm his fingers grazed over his cell and he suddenly remembered talking to it the night before. Frowning he tried to recall what he had said to it and tried to figure out why his battery was empty.
“I know I said something but what…?” he thought about what happened before he fell asleep. He clearly remembered finding the building he was in but the rest was hazy.
-- an old comfy chair -- four shadows -- green-eyes -- a fist -- fingers gripping his face -- a flash of silver -- pain when waking up -- him crawling toward the couch -- a hand with blood -- his cell -- Tom’s number -- A confession of love --
“I said I loved him! Gott, I hope he hasn’t heard a thing of it on his voicemail. He’ll hate me and…” Bill was talking so loud that he suddenly lost his voice completely. He remembered “Oh yeah, the bruise on my throat. Fun, I’m not only lost but I’m also injured, alone and now my voice is gone, just great. All I need now is a storm to make my day.” He was pissed and for more than the first time he cursed himself for running away from his safe haven.
A loud sound outside caught his attention and his eyes drifted over to the nearest window. His mouth dropped and his mind didn’t make a noise. He shouldn’t have thought about it.
The storm that was already bad when he entered this place had now fully broken out. Water had made the street blank, making it difficult to walk without getting wet. Cars and other objects were everywhere due to both water and the heavy wind. A lantern had broke into two, smashing a car and the house standing next to it. It looked like the apocalypse had come.
-- CRASH --
Startled Bill turned toward the sudden noise. A car had crashed into the house just in front of the building he was in. His eyes followed the crack appearing in the front wall, following it upwards splitting the house in two. Making it very unstable. He knew he had to move away and fast. It would only be a matter of time before the house collapsed on the buildings near it. Meaning the building he was in was a potential ‘victim’.
Limping he tried to take everything that was left behind of him by his attackers. With tears in his eyes he noticed that his picture of Tom and him was gone. Same for his jacket and wallet. But the loss of the picture was harder, it meant so much to him and now some drunk fuck had it. It had been his personal reminder of the happy times between Tomi and him, it kept him grounded and now….now it was gone. Probably ripped apart and dumped in a trash bin somewhere. It was gone forever.
Bill cried. He couldn’t take it anymore, he couldn’t care less at the moment that the building was most likely was going to collapse. He wanted to go home, to the hotel wrapped up in Tom’s warm and safe arms but he didn’t remember the way back.
A rumble shook him from his thoughts, his teary face looking up. He saw that the house in front of him collapsed. Throwing bricks, glass and dust everywhere. The windows of the building he was in broke causing glass to fly his way. Bill ducked behind the couch. The glass was all over the place.
“I have to leave!” Fear flashed through his mind. Taking his cap that was lying on the dirty floor he limped toward the door. Grimacing with every step he took he reached the door. Wrenching the door open with his good arm he stepped outside. Dust filled his sight making it nearly impossible to see where he could walk.
Stumbling over the road he coughed. Dust had been caught in his breath. The strong wind nearly made him tumble over making it difficult to walk in a straight line. He briefly looked back only to see the building he was in a few minutes ago crumble into pieces. He had left just in time.
Limping and stumbling over bricks and moving around cars he slowly tried to get away from the dark place. Dust slowly gave away so Bill could finally see. Everywhere he looked he saw a ruined building either from the worst storm of the century or from humans.
From afar he could barely see the park but he didn’t know whether it was the same one as before or another one. Shrugging he didn’t really care as long as he was gone from his current place. He just wanted some peace, painkillers and a hug. Preferably from his Tomcat. To his left he saw a group of boys breaking in into a abandoned store, some of them were looking at him. Quickly he, well quick for his condition, walked further. Away from the dangerous buildings and thieves.
“Finally” he thought when reaching the dark looking park entrance. “No, it isn’t the same one as before. Where am I?” His orientation was gone. He didn’t even know that there was another park. Entering it he searched for a place where he could stay for a while.
He shivered, oh how he wished for the second time that he had brought a thicker sweater. Shaking his head he shoved the thought away, he shouldn’t have run away in the first place.
“hey, are you ok?” Bill looked up. A young girl was looking worriedly at him. “You shouldn’t be out here you know, it isn’t safe if you not from around.” He tried to speak but his throat wouldn’t allow him to. So he just nodded. “Oh, having troubles speaking huh? What’s wrong, you look so sad?” the girl sat down next to him. Bill looked pensively at her not knowing whether to tell her or not.
“I know we don’t know each other but sometime a strangers point of view helps.” Her eyes showed her concern and she gave him her cell so he could type in want he wanted to say. Bill looked at it and decided it couldn’t hurt him. He typed in everything that happened and the girl read the text.
“Oh but you don’t know that for sure do you? I mean, this guy you type about could’ve avoided you because he was trying to deny his feelings for you?!” Bill typed in another text and she laughed when finished reading it. “Look, I don’t know you or him neither do I know the situation but I’m sure he loves you too! A lot of people try to deny their feeling ‘cause their afraid of rejection. Unknowingly they hurt the person they love because of that. Clearly this guy doesn’t know you love him back.” She looked at him waiting patiently for a reply.
But Bill was thinking, back to where Tom was ignoring or avoiding him. Oh my Gott!! She could be right. Maybe Tom did love him back. He started to grin at her making her smile. “Good, now dry those tears and go get that man of yours!” the girl smiled and gave him a hug before getting up. Walking away she looked back at Bill and even though the wind blew her hair across her face he saw the wink she send him. Waving at him she left the park while he waved back.
Bill blushed and looked up to the sky. He grinned “ Tomi, when I’m back… you’re stuck with me till the end!”
