***** Tonight's chapter is dedicated to my dear friend Uschi. Happy birthday X Buddy! ::does super secret X handshake!:: And because I know what is going to happen.. to a certain extent (I don't even know how the story will end yet.. though I do know the twist keheheh).. I will also dedicate chapter 10 to Uschi as a part 2 to her birthday present (just to make sure the gift is good!). Enjoy my friend.. And thank you for your patience as I've been wanting to write but have been eXtremely busy, as you know. Now I'm off to bed to dream up the rest of the story... and to sleep before daylight breaks!*****
Yoshiki stared into the mirror as he tugged on his black button down shirt to release any wrinkles and evened out his white silk scarf that hung around his neck. He had to look his best for the X JAPAN Reunion Tokyo Dome Lives kick-off party, as there would be tons of press there; both international and domestic. X Japan’s reunion was on everyone’s lips and would probably be the event of the year, if not the whole decade itself. For a second he felt he might be slightly nervous. But he quickly recognized his feelings. He’d done this so many times and although it had been a long time and it was a huge event, if not the biggest, of X JAPAN's timeline it had nothing to do with the hundreds of thousands of fans and press and co-workers. He felt that familiar ache in his heart that he had learned to live with for the past ten years. A constant ache that lingered in the bottom of his heart and occasionally made it’s presence more obvious. It was occasions such as these. They made sure to remind him that a piece of him was still missing.
“Yo-chan, I don’t want to dress up all fancy. Fancy clothes are boring and colorless!” said hide stomping into the room. “I’m wearing this and you won’t change my mind!” He turned to find his precious hide-chan in the brightest red oversized plaid hat, a bright green sweater, and red and green plaid pants to match. “See? Kurisumas colors! I took into consideration the event! It’s my favorite month and these are the colors to celebrate!” “hide it’s only your favorite month because you’re birthday is in it.” A pout crossed hide’s face, “Yoshiki, you are mocking my holiday spirit! And anyway the press, unlike you, will understand that. So I’m wearing this and not some dull black and white outfit with stupid shoulder pads!” Yoshiki gasped at hide’s insult to his shoulder pads as he reached up to adjust his. “Well you know what hide, if you’re going to insult my shoulder pads, then fine wear whatever you want. Look like some tasteless hippy and see if I care!” “Tasteless? Hah! You just can’t appreciate style that’s ahead of its time!” With that hide whipped his hair around and made his ever-so melodramatic and “stylish” exit. It was never serious bickering, although Yoshiki did believe that hide made some rather interesting wardrobe choices. It was all very endearing to him really. He blinked as he stared into his reflection. He wondered if ten years later he and hide would still be bickering about the same childish things. He attempted to practice a smile in the mirror and managed to produce a rather weak smile in the reflection. He knew hide would want him to smile… for him. He always said it was Yoshiki’s best feature… apart from his nose he had always teased. Yoshiki thought back for a moment and conjured the image of the green and red-themed Kurisumas hide. He couldn’t help but laugh a bit as he looked up into the mirror to meet his smile. “There it is,” said the Pink Spider smiling somewhere in heaven. “Hey Yo, does this look okay, or do you think I should go with my longer jacket?” Heath walked into the room adjusting his blazer over his white shirt. Heath stopped as he met Yoshiki’s eyes in the mirror. He instantly recognized that look. “You look very handsome Heath. As always,” said Yoshiki with faux-confidence, yet sincere. Heath grinned at the site of an elegantly dressed Yoshiki and walked over and stood behind him. “How do I look?” asked Yoshiki, talking to Heath’s reflection. Heath smiled again, “Like you’re ready to dictate the world Yo.” Yoshiki laughed as Heath brushed off a blond strand of hair that clung to his shoulder. A mobile rang from inside Yoshiki’s pocket. “Moshi moshi,” he answered promptly. “Oh, hi. Yes, that’s fine.” Heath could clearly tell Yoshiki was speaking with an American. He heard a woman’s voice on the somewhat loud phone. “Okay, I’ll see you soon,” Yoshiki ended the brief conversation and hung up. He turned around to face Heath. “Who was she?” “Amanda.” Heath knew. It was nothing new to him. Yoshiki had to “maintain an image”. He had never quite understood why he had to bother to make one at all if he could just… “Oh but why bother thinking about it. Things are the way they always have been…” he thought to himself. Though neither Heath nor Pata ever felt that had to make some form of public expression as to their “healthy” and “normal” dating life. “Okay, well I’m going to go finish getting ready. I’ll see you at the party.” As he turned to leave Yoshiki grabbed him firmly by the wrist. Heath stopped but didn’t turn around. Tonight would not be a good night. Yoshiki pulled him close and shoved a hand down the front of Heath’s pants. He put his face next to Heath’s ear, “It’s just for the party, Heath. You know that.” “I didn’t say anything.” “You don’t have to. I recognize that look.” Heath let out a semi-frustrated huff. “You know you’ll still have me at the end of the night, Heath,” said Yoshiki stroking his hand along the inner side of Heath’s thigh. “Yo.” “What?” “Stop.” The blonde stopped and released the younger man from his hold. He turned around and said in an earnest tone, “I’ll see you at the party, okay?” He pecked Yoshiki on the lips and added, “You always look beautiful, Yo-chan. She’s lucky to hold your hand tonight.” He left the room not wanting to think of his expectations for the night for fear of the thoughts and feelings they might stir within him. *************************************************************************************************************************** TO BE CONTINUED...While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
