Chapter Eight: The Morning After
In the middle of the night, Ivan had become the big spoon, and he woke up holding the very large, very muscular Chris Kael. He smiled like a kitten and rubbed his face into the back of his neck, snuggling in closer to him and savoring the prodigious amount of comfort he was feeling. The bed was the perfect temperature, the blankets were the perfect amount of softness, and the mattress and pillows offered the perfect amount of support. He pressed a kiss into the other man’s neck and woke him up.
He stirred in his arms, and then rolled over so Ivan had to scoot out from underneath him before he was laid on. Chris looked tired – and cute.
“Hey,” he mumbled drowsily.
“Hey,” the singer said back.
The bassist took a second to take in the morning – and possibly the situation – before he asked, “Were you cuddling me?” Ivan nodded. “Are you serious?” He put his hand on his face and the younger man smiled. “Come here.” He rolled Ivan over against his will, becoming the big spoon, and held him there in a tight bear hug. Ivan laughed and then closed his eyes, and after some playful struggling relaxed in his arms. It felt strange being held by him though.
“Are you finally happy, Chris?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m feeling pretty good,” the older man replied. He released him then and got up to use the restroom, and the singer laid there for a time by himself staring at nothing as he thought about the night before.
