Prologue

Davey giggled softly to himself as he held the mic away from his mouth while Jade played his solo. Jade's look of utter concentration, was what caused Davey's mirth. The way the guitarist bit his lip was so sweet.
Just as Davey was about to turn back to the crowd an unusual flash of light from above Hunter made the singer turn to see what it was. As he turned he was amazed to see one of the large blue tinted lights swinging on the ends of it's broken cables and coming right at him.
Right before the light impacted with his head his only thoughts were, //Jade... I loved you, even if I never said anything.// And then, Davey's world went dark.

*****
Jade had just finished up his solo, hoping that Davey was watching him. He slowed the tone of his guitar and glanced up when he noted that Davey hadn't turned back towards the crowd like normal.
The guitarist noticed that Davey was staring at something Hunter's way, and he couldn't help but wonder what the bass player was doing. Before he could turn and see, a flash of light startled Jade as the broken light swung by his right and struck a stunned looking Davey in the side of the head.
Jade stood there stunned as Davey went down and the crowd screamed. After shaking it off he and Hunter ran to where Davey lay so still at the front part of the stage.

*****
Hunter had just been getting ready for his big part in the middle of the song they were performing when he noticed Davey staring his way in a funny manner. Glancing down, Hunter checked to make certain his fly was zipped and frowned when he noticed it was.
He was just about to mouth something kind of crude at his friend when a funny sound about him made the bassist look up. One of the large blue suspension lights swung a foot over his head and went right for Davey.
Hunter didn't think twice after it hit the singer before throwing off his bass and running with Jade up to his side.
Jade was about to turn him over when a hand stopped them from moving him.
Hunter allowed himself to be pushed away and Adam knelt to hold Davey's neck steady until a paramedic could get out there to secure it properly.

*****
Adam had been staring at Hunter's ass, hoping that he was making all of his spots when a strange movement in the ceiling over Hunter's head made him look up.
As he watched as a light gave way and swung just barely missing Hunter's head. He was about to breath a sigh of relief when the light struck Davey in the side of the head, sending the singer to the floor with a sickening thud.
When Hunter and Jade dropped their instruments to run to the downed singer, Adam hoped his drum kit and ran forward to make certain they didn't injury Davey anymore by moving him more than necessary.
Pushing Hunter and Jade out of the way he positioned his hands on either side of Davey's neck, holding it as still as he could, hoping the EMTs were close.

*****
Smith had been standing just out of sight at the curtain's edge, trying not to let his pride show as he watched his band play there hearts out. He was just about to go find his husband and snuggle until the end of the concert when Davey's expression made him stop.
Turning slightly Smith stared in horror as a stage light swung into view and hit the singer in the head, sending him to the floor.
As the other three band members started moving so did Smith. Screaming for the EMTs, Smith hurried out to help Adam hold Davey steady, just in case.

*****
Fritch had just got out of the restroom when an EMT went running by barely missing his widening girth. Putting a hand to his growing pregnancy Fritch walked as fast as he dared up to where the EMT was headed.
Frowning Fritch had to move as another set of EMTs came through with a gurney and headed for the stage. Hurrying up as much as he dared Fritch made his way the rest of the way to the stage side.
He watched as Jade, Adam and Hunter were pushed aside and then Smith as well.
Moments later the EMTs were wheeling an unconscious Davey who had lot of blood on the left side of his face and head.
Fritch stared wide eyed at the departing gurney until his husband Smith put his arms around him. "It's going to be okay."
"What happened?" Fritch asked as they followed Adam, Hunter and Jade out of the back and then into a waiting car.
"One of the lights some how came loose and struck Davey in the side of the head... We'll know more later... You should rest." Smith told him softly as he squeezed Fritch gently.

******Part 1
Jade sat beside Davey's bedside while the others stood talking softly near by. They had only been forced to wait away from their wounded friend for a short time before the doctors allowed them back into the room that Davey was in.
The singer had yet to wake up, but the doctor reassured them that Davey should be waking up soon. Jade was petting the arm closest to him, as he waited to see the brown eyes that he had been praying were going to open any moment.
"Jade?" Smith's voice caught his attention, making him turn slightly and give his brother a weak smile.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going to take Fritch back to the hotel so he can rest... Adam and Hunter are going to come with us and change. Do you want me to send some clothes with them?" Smith rested a hand on Jade's shoulder his eyes drawn with sadness.
Nodding Jade looked back at Davey. "Yeah... I'll wait here. I don't want him to be alone when he wakes up."
Patting Jade on the shoulder Smith turned and led the other occupants of the room out.

*****
A moan brought Jade out of his slight doze. Glancing over to the hospital bed Jade watched as Davey lifted a hand to his head, moaning in obvious pain.
"Davey?" Jade was on his feet and hitting the call button on the side of the hospital bed.
"Jade?... Wha' happened?" Davey's voice was slurred as he tried to shake the cob webs from his mind.
"You got hit by a light while we were on stage..."Jade took one of Davey's hands and held it tight. The relief of seeing Davey awake was almost enough to make Jade faint.
"Yeah... I remember that... it was from above Hunter..." Davey gave Jade a weak smile before patting the hand that held his. "I'm fine, Jade. I've just got a headache... A bad one." Before Davey could go on the nurse came in to see what they had hit the call button for.

*****
"Mr. Puget, since everything seems to be in order we'll be releasing him tomorrow at noon if everything seems to be as well then." the doctor told him as they stood outside of Davey's room.
"Now, I would suggest going and getting some sleep. The trip he's going to be taking to get home is going to be wearing on you both." the doctor gave Jade a smile and after Jade nodded his understanding, went on about his round.
Sighing in relief Jade walked back into the room and smiled at Davey who was grimacing, waiting for some of the pain medicine he's been forced to take to start working.
"Looks like we'll be catching that flight back tomorrow afternoon... Do you want me to stay with you tonight?" Jade told him as he settled a hip on the edge of the bed.
"Just until I go to sleep?" Davey suggested as he relaxed back, finally feeling the pain medicine start taking his pain away.
"Okay. Then tomorrow we'll come get you and then we'll go home." Jade's smile made Davey smile back as he closed his eyes.
When Davey was fully asleep Jade leaned down and brushed a kiss over his pale cheek, then he left hoping Davey rested well.

******
"How are you feeling, Davey?" a reporter asked as he followed the singer and Jade out of the hospital.
"I've got a huge head-ache... but pretty much okay." Davey gave the reporter a grin as he got into the backseat of the SUV Smith was driving them to the airport in.
"I'm glad to hear that. Got any immediate plans other than going home?" the reporter grinned back at the singer as he settled himself comfortably in the seat and leaned his head back.
"I just want to go home and crawl in bed with Jade for nice long cuddle session and a nice long rest. Nice speaking with you." Davey said as he drifted back off into sleep.
Smith had just started driving when Davey had finished speaking. Jade's eyes had bugged out at Davey's words as he glanced over at his friend wondering if he had missed something.
"Umm... Jade do you have something to tell me?" Smith asked as he pulled the SUV onto the freeway.
"No... I think the pain medicine they gave Davey messed with his head a little." Jade said with a bright blush across his cheeks.
"Don't worry about what that reporter writes... I'm sure he didn't catch what Davey said." Smith tried to reassure his brother, but he wasn't so sure they weren't going to have a lot of feedback off of that quote.

***** Part 2
Davey slept his way through most of the flight home and just before they were to land he woke up. Smiling he glanced at Jade who was sleeping beside him. His poor Jade... He could only imagine what his lover had gone through seeing him getting hit by that light. They would have to see about getting some kind of trauma specialist for Jade if it seemed to have been to much for the auburn haired man.
Leaning over Davey blew a draft of warm air over Jade's ear, making him shiver a little and turn towards the singer. With a glance around the make certain they weren't going to get caught Davey leaned over started to kiss his beloved awake.

*****
Jade woke to the feel of soft lips brushing over his own. The unmistakable scent of the ocean and peppermint made Jade open his eyes just as Davey's tongue made it's way into his mouth. Jade's eyes flew open as Davey did his very best to give him a rim job, by route of his mouth. When he was finally able to break away the guitarist stared at Davey with wide hazel eyes.
"Evening, love... I couldn't resist waking you up with a kiss. You looked so sweet sleeping like that." Davey reached out and wiped off the lip gloss he had left on Jade's lips.
His mind racing, Jade tried to figure out what was going on. Davey called him 'love' and kissed him like they had been lover's for years... Add that in to what Davey had told the reporter... Jade knew something wasn't right in Davey's head.
As not to upset the injured man Jade just smiled back. "You should be resting, Davey."
Shrugging the singer leaned back in his own seat.
"You rest and then when we get home we'll talk." Jade reassured him wondering how much longer until the flight landed and they could get Davey to a hospital to have him checked over... again.
"I don't want to talk... I want you to pound me into our bed... show me that I really am still alive... And then I want to move on and ride you on the kitchen table... Then again on the couch in the living room... and anywhere else we can find." Davey whispered seductively as he stroked a finger down Jade's chest making him shiver and capture the wandering hand.
//Shit, that light really scrambled something in Davey's upstairs... I wish he wouldn't say stuff like that or I might just take him up on it, completely forgetting that he's out of his head from the injury.// Jade thought as he held tightly to the hand he had stilled.

*****
As soon as he could Jade rose and whispered that he was going to go check on Smith and Fritch. Davey had nodded. "Yes, go make sure that Fritch and the baby are okay... I hope he didn't worry himself too much."
Jade just smiled and patted Davey on the arm before hurrying back to where his brother and brother-in-law were resting. "Smith." Jade hissed right by his brother's ear.
The elder Puget opened his eye with a glare then woke the rest of the way. "What is it?"
"There's something wrong with Davey. He'd saying strange things." Jade felt stupid when he put it like that, but a head wound wasn't anything to pass off as nothing.
"Saying strange things like..." Smith left off though he was sitting up frowning worried all over again for his friend.
"Let's just say if I didn't personally know better, by the way he's talking I'd think we'd been lovers for years." Jade said with a glance back up to where Davey was sitting.
"Oh boy... I'll call ahead and have some medical people standing by at the airport... You have to come up with a reason that he has to go with the men in the white coats." Smith told him as he got out his cell phone and started dialing.
Jade frowned to himself as he walked back to his seat and sat. "Davey..."
"Yes, my love?" Davey asked as he laid his head down on Jade's shoulder.
"The feakin' studio has decided to have you reevaluated. There's suppose to be an ambulance waiting for us when they land... I'm sorry. I know you want to get home, but they want to make certain their song bird isn't hurt too badly." Jade brushed his fingers over Davey's curls as he spoke, wondering when or even if they would ever get the right Davey back. Not that he didn't like having this love-bird version of his Davey hanging all over him... but Jade wanted the chance to make those fantasies in Davey's head real.
And he couldn't do that when Davey was under false impressions... It just wouldn't be right.
Davey nodded with a sigh. "I was kind of wondering if they wouldn't do something like that... Oh well. We should have a lengthy amount of time off so that will make up for it." Davey rubbed his cheek against Jade's shoulder and smiled a little. "Maybe we should chase Adam and Hunter out of the house for a while and start to work on our own family... I know I haven't brought it up before... but since Fritch's pregnancy has started showing all I can think about is carrying our child one day... I'd like for that day to be sooner rather than later, Jade. I can tell by your silence you're stunned so I won't bring it up anymore until you've had time to think it over."
Once Davey had gone silent Jade sat there staring straight ahead. Davey hadn't just suggested what he thought he had... Had he?

***** Part 3 is dedicated to those of you who have just joined out ranks.
"We believe that his mind has somehow routed around the tiny part of his brain that has been bruised. It's probably routed through the part that stores his fantasies. The only thing that will fix this is time. Once the bruising is healed, everything should be back to normal." the doctor that had just checked Davey told Jade and Smith as they stood outside of his office.
"Do we tell him that what he thinks is real isn't?" Smith asked as he worried his thumb nail. After noticing what he was doing he left off with a mental groan, knowing that Fritch was going to gripe him out for starting to bite his nails again.
The doctor shook his head. "No we don't know how that could effect his over all psyche. He shouldn't be like this for more than a month. The best thing for David is to let go on thinking what he does. It might be embarrassing after the fact, but he'll survive. Take him home, let him rest and everything will be fine."
Jade nodded slowly wondering what he was going to do with a horny Davey who thought Jade was his lover.
Smith thanked the doctor and led Jade to where Davey was just finished getting released. "Everything was fine, wasn't it?"
"Yeah. Time to get home." Jade wrapped an arm around Davey's shoulder and lead him out.
"Good... I think I could go to sleep for days." Davey murmured as he allowed Jade to lead him out to the waiting car and then on the drive home, he fell into a deep sleep.

*****
Davey woke up as they were pulling into the driveway of the band's house. Stretching slowly he allowed Jade to hold the door for him. "Thanks, Jadey."
"Not a problem... Why don't you go ahead and go to bed while the guys and I get everything unloaded?" Jade suggested after unlocking the front door and turning off the alarm.
Nodding, Davey kissed Jade gently and then walked tiredly up the stairs.
Hunter and Adam, who had just been talking to Smith about Davey, walked in shaking their heads. "Wow... this is something that could only happen to Davey."
"Yeah... I don't know what I'm going to do... He's expecting a lover to join him in a little bit... Not that I don't want to be his lover... because I do... but not like this." Jade knew he was starting to get a slightly hysterical, but the other two men just patted him on the back soothingly.
"He's not going to want a lover right now, Jade. When you go up there he'd probably only going to be wanting a Jade cuddle pillow. I think you'll be fine. And when he's feeling better just tell him that the doctor put a big 'x' on sex until after his check up in a few weeks." Adam told him reasonably.
It made so much since that Jade breathed a sigh of relief and hurried to get everything in from the car.

***** Part 4
Jade slowly opened the door to his room, not entirely surprised that Davey was curled up asleep in his bed. However it was the fact that Spiffy was allowing Davey to hold the cat like a teddy bear.
"Here, Spiffy." Jade eased his cat out of his 'lover's' arms and set the cat in his kitty basket at the foot of the bed.
Spiffy purred at him for a moment as Jade petted him, then settled back down to sleep when Jade turned back to his new bed mate.
As quietly as he could, Jade undressed and pulled on the black and pink sleeping pants Davey had given him for his last birthday. Hoping that Davey wouldn't wake up, Jade eased into the bed as far from the singer as he could and still be on the bed.
Just when Jade thought he would be able to sleep, Davey rolled over in his sleep and snuggled to his side. Sighing at the injustice of being this close to the man he loved, without being able to touch Davey as he wanted to, Jade curled his fingers lightly into the dark curls next to his face.
Laying his head on top of Davey Jade allowed himself to drift off to sleep.

*****
Davey woke up to the gentle thump of a familiar heart under his ear. Smiling Davey rubbed his face across Jade's chest before leaning up and studying his lover's face. There were fine lines starting at the corners of Jade's eyes. Some would say he was aging early, but Davey thought they made him look wiser, especially when Jade had his glasses on. Pushing himself to lean on his arms, Davey brushed a kiss over the tiny little lined and grinned when Jade wrinkled his nose sweetly and lightly batted at him.
Leaning in again Davey moved to Jade's lips for a gentle taste before pulling back and waiting for them morning to come so that Davey could wake him up. Davey didn't want to wake Jade up from the sleep he needed. After all that his poor Jade had gone through, Davey knew he had to be playing catch up.
So Davey settled back down to watch Jade in the glow of the pink nightlight until morning came. "I love you Jade." he whispered closing his eyes.
A few minutes later found Davey as sound asleep as Jade.

*****
Jade woke up to the smell of something food-like right under his nose. Cracking one eye open Jade found Davey holding a plate of vegan-chocolate chip pancakes near his nose. "Morning, love bug. Hungry?"
Slowly the guitarist sat up and stared at the plate Davey sat in his lap. "What's this for?"
Davey just shrugged and handed him a fork. "For taking such good care of me when I was hurt. I know you've probably not been eating well... so when I woke up this morning and felt like cooking I had to make you your favorite breakfast."
"Thanks, Davey... You didn't have to do this. I'm suppose to be taking care of you, not the other way around." Jade said after he had taken his first bit and swallowed.
The singer just gave him a smile and then stood up with a stretch that showed off his lithe form, turned towards the door. "I'm going with Fritch out to do some shopping. I'll have my cell phone with me if you need me. Love you."
Jade all but choked on his pancake and shook his head. "No!... I mean are you certain you're feeling up to going out already? What about your headache?"
Davey gave him a sweet grin from the door way. "I'm fine and my headache is all but gone. And we're not going to be out that long. Fritch isn't up to being out very long. Now... love you, bye."
The sight of Davey disappearing out of the door made Jade groan as he leaned his head over the plate of forgotten pancakes.

***** Part 5
"Hey Fritch... how do you think Jade would like being a daddy?"
Davey's question made the other man stop and put a hand to his stomach, wondering if he had heard right. "Pardon me?"
"How do you think Jade would like being a daddy?" Davey asked again as he lifted a tiny pair of shorts from the stack on the shelf beside him.
Fritch stared at him for a moment more, then shook his head. "I don't know... though I think he'd be a great father."
The soft smile on Davey's face made Fritch feel warm at the same time as his baby kicked in little gently in his stomach. "I know he'd be a great dad... It's just that we're only now really making it. And we're both still young... but it just feels like..." Davey left off then folded the pair of baby shorts back up and set then on the shelf. "It just feels like it's now or never... if that makes any sense."
Fritch nodded slowly, not certain how to respond. "That's kind of how I felt. Smith has been working so hard with the band... and so have I... it just felt like the right time."
Davey flashed him a grin. "Yeah... that's pretty much how I feel... but when I brought it up to Jade I think it freaked him out a little. I guess it did come out of the blue, but after coming that close to dying I guess I just needed to prove life is still here with me."
Fritch patted the singer on the arm and then guided him around the next corner. "Now happy thoughts... I've got to pick out a crib and all of the matching things so Smith and the others can come pick it up later. Why don't we go get that done and then go to that all day spa a few streets over?"
"Good idea... My treat." Davey threw an arm over Fritch's shoulders and then pulled him towards the cribs and baby furniture isle.

*****
"I can't do it, Smith... I'm going up a friggin' wall trying not to say or do something... I know that doctor said about a month... but I don't know if I can take it for one more day let alone a month." Jade said as he rode with his brother to pick up the baby furniture his brother-in-law had picked out.
"It's only been two days. It'll be fine. And this will give you a chance to get close to him the way you want to." Smith told him softly, wondering if his brother was finally going to admit his feelings for the singer.
"I can not take advantage of Davey like that!" Jade stared his brother rage forming behind his normally calm hazel eyes.
"And I'm not suggesting that you take advantage of him. I had a thought after we found out what was happening in Davey's mind. Tell him that while he's recovering you want to relieve the joys of when you first got together. You know, first date, first kiss... stuff like that. That way when he does come back as the normal Davey, you can tell him the truth and he won't be so embarrassed and you'll have one another." Smith laid his plan for Jade.
Jade studied his brother for a moment then smirked. "Fritch kicked you out of bed that night, huh? It's the only way you'd be thinking about my problems."
"Yeah... He told me if I ever started chewing on my fingernails again he'd put me one the couch for a week... Add in the extra hormones and that week is now a month."
The guitarist couldn't help but laugh as imagined his brother getting sent to the couch for bitting his nails.
"Laugh it up... One day soon Davey's going to be all over you ass for something and you and that damn cat are going to be bunking with Hunter and Adam." Smith said as he took a small swing at Jade before going back to concentrating on his driving.

***** Part 6
"Davey... I was just wondering... would you like to go out tonight?" Jade felt ridiculously embarrassed by just trying to asked him out.
Frowning, Davey shook his head in question. "Are you asking me out on a date, Jade?"
"I was thinking... maybe you know... we could take this time while you still not up to par we can go back and put a little more time into the first part of a good relationship. Give us a little time while we're off." Jade smiled a little hopefully.
The sheer sweetness of the gesture made Davey smile. "Jade, that's so romantic. That'd be wonderful... Our first time through wasn't so hot... being on the road the entire time... And as for tonight, oh yes! When do I need to be ready by?"
"I was thinking about us leaving about six." Jade's heart swelled as he restrained himself from literally jumping for joy.
"SIX?! That only gives me three hours to shower, find an outfit and get my make up fixed!" Davey groaned as he jumped up from the table and after giving Jade a kiss on the cheek, ran out to get ready.
Jade watched him go, his heart light for the first time since they had figured out what was wrong with Davey. Maybe Smith had been right, this would work out after all... and if it did Jade would owe his brother a lot.

*****
Adam and Hunter were sitting in the living room playing video games when Davey came hurrying down the stairs. Adam glanced away from the game for a second and then looked back, forgetting the game all together.
The singer wore a black t-shirt with a single grey star in the middle and a pair of black pants with a belt made of silver stars looping his hips. His make up was light due to the fact that even at night the summer heat was still pressing. Just a few smudges around his eyes and a light coat of lip gloss adorned his face. His hair was loose around his shoulders and the curls bounced with every step.
"Whoa... Davey going out or something?" Adam said as he and Hunter turned to looked over the back of the couch to where Davey was putting on his bracelets.
"Jade's taking me out tonight." Davey grinned as he settled the bracelets at his wrist and then turned to where Jade was coming out of the kitchen. "Ready at six... mind telling me what we're doing tonight?"
"Nope. See ya later guys..." Jade said as he took Davey's hand and pulled him out of the front door.
Adam and Hunter looked at one another then shrugged and went back to their video game.

*****
"Have I told you how good you look?" Jade asked as they sat on the tiny patio of the vegan restaurant they were dining at.
"Not yet." Davey grinned at him and ducked his head a little. Sometimes Jade could be too romantic.
"Well then, you look gorgeous tonight. I'm honored that you agreed to come out with me tonight." Jade told him as he took a sip from his water, his old nervousness having disappeared when they sat down to dinner.
"Thank you... You're not too hard on the eyes yourself." Davey laughed a little, which sent a pleasurable shock through Jade's system.

******
Walking through the crowd of the small carnival Jade had brought him to Davey stopped at the bull riding machine. The carni sponsoring the ride called out to the crowd "Ride for a full eight second and win a prize!"
Jade shook his head and Davey giggled under his hand after person after person was thrown clear of the mechanical monstrosity. "It can't be that hard."
Davey looked at Jade with a raised eyebrow. "I suppose *you* can do it?"
"I can do anything I put my mind to... but I'm smart enough *not* to want to." Jade snorted as another person flew off.
The singer looked at his boyfriend with a slight smirk before patting Jade on the arm. "I've got to use the bathroom... you stay right here and I'll be back in a moment, okay?"
Jade nodded as he let out a soft chuckle as another person went fly.
Davey smiled as he hurried off like he was heading for the port-o-potties, but then disappeared around the edge of the next game.
Minutes later he returned to Jade's side as the guitarist choked back another round of laughter. "You should have seen this one guy that tried while you were-"
Jade was cut off by the carni calling out the next participant signed on the list. "Jade "I can do anything" Puget?"
The auburn haired male looked over to where Davey was grinning at him. "You didn't."
"Go on, Mr. "I can do anything"... that's your name he's calling." Davey gave him a little shove towards the faux-bull.
Grumbling, Jade smoothed his hair before stepping up and mounting the machine with a little hop. After securing himself Jade nodded to the man at the controls. "Go for it."

***** Part 7
Adam and Hunter were just finishing a four hours Seaquest marathon when Davey came bouncing into the house with Jade just behind him. Clutched in Davey's arms was the biggest replica of Jack Skellington's head that Adam or Hunter had ever had the displeasure of coming face to face with.
"Where did you get that?" Adam asked after Davey had showed off his new toy.
"Jade won it for me at a carnival... Guys, you should have seen it! Jade rode that bull machine like he was from Texas! He was the only one to do it tonight!... AND he rode it at the hardest level!" Davey giggled as he leaned over and gave Jade a quick kiss. "I'd better get upstairs and get Jack's head put away before Spiffy get's the wrong idea and uses my prize for a scratch toy... Night all!"
The other three watched Davey disappear up the stairs and then Adam and Hunter turned to Jade. "Don't ever ask how I know how to ride a bull... I'd have to kill you if you ever found out," was Jade's only response as he moved gingerly up the stairs.
As soon as he was out of ear shot Adam and Hunter glanced at one another and started laughing until their tears poured.

*****
Davey snuggled up to Jade after the other man had crawled into bed. "Thank you for tonight Jade... In a way it's the first 'date' we've ever had. As much as I love touring it doesn't leave us much private time. So... where's date number 2 going to be?"
Jade chuckled as he settled himself around Davey, loving the feel of the few stray curls that had escaped Davey's sleeping braid as they brushed over his shoulder. "Well... I can't tell you that, because it wouldn't be a surprise... Though you might want to get out your best dress clothes ready for two nights from now."
Thinking about it Davey nodded. "Are we going to have to be worried about being caught?"
"No... at least not where the night's entertainment will be. Though the resturant might be a bit of a chance... but I doubt anyone's going to think anything of two guys being out for a nice dinner."
Davey yawned as he nodded. "Okay... Night Jade... Love you."
Jade pressed a little kiss to Davey forehead and held him tightly until they had both fallen asleep.

***** Part 8
"You ready Davey?" Jade called through the door of the bedroom they had been sharing. Nervously he twitched at the suit jacket he wore. The dark charcoal colored suit went well with the pale pink shirt he was wearing as well as his slight darker pink tie. His sideburns were trimmed to perfection and he'd even gone out and had his nails professionally manicured so they looked nice.
"Just about." Davey called back as he slid his own suit jacket on. It was a nice matte black with tiny dark red pin strips that matched his shirt. His eyes were ringed very lightly, barely enough to see. His lips wore only the lightest shimmer of peach colored glitter lip gloss. He didn't know where Jade was taking him, but he wanted to look nice.
A moment later Davey stepped out of the room and smiled at his lover.
All Jade could do was stand there and stare for a moment before he grinned and held out his hand. Davey took it and Jade turned him in a tight circle, looking him over completely.
"Wow, Dave... this is... wow." Jade had always known that Davey was the prettiest person he'd ever had the joy of being near, but this... this was... awe inspiring some how.
"Thank you, Jade. You look wonderful as well. I don't remember this suit." Davey said as he smoothed his hands over the lapels of Jade's suit jacket.
Blushing Jade ducked his head a little. "I went out and bought a new one for the occasion."
"Jade... You didn't have to! I liked you black one." Davey said as he fiddled with the pale pink carnation in the button hole on the lapel.
"I know. I just wanted something new... for our new start." Jade said as he brushed a hand through Davey's loose curls.
The soft smile he got for his words made Jade smile back and pull Davey into a loose hug before setting the singer away from him. "Now come on. We don't want to be late."

*****
After a fine meal at a very upscale restaurant, Jade had Davey cover his eyes as he drove them to their night's entertainment.
"Is that the ocean I hear?" Davey asked when they pulled off of the main road they had been on.
"Yes it is." Jade answered and then refused to say anymore.
A few moments later Jade stopped the car and hurried over to Davey side to help him out. "Keep your eyes closed."
Davey allowed Jade to lead him. He knew they were on the beach, he could feel the sand under his shoes and hear the ocean to his left.
Then he heard the soft melody of music stylized to that of the big band era. "What's that music?"
"That's where we're going. You can open your eyes." Jade kept a hand on his shoulder until Davey had blinked away the fuzziness from his eyes.
Ahead of them was a open air dance floor where various couples were dancing to the tune of 'Isn't it Romantic'. "Jade..." Davey didn't know what to say and had to blink rapidly to keep from tearing up and making his mascara run.
"Come on. Let's dance." Jade whispered as he pulled Davey up onto the dance floor and with the ocean on their left and the other couple circling, they held each other and danced.

**** Part 9
Jade woke to the feeling of someone prodding him on the shoulder. Cracking one eye opened slowly he found himself looked down his side into Davey large brown eyes. "Morning."
"Isn't morning yet." Jade insisted as he wrapped his arms around Davey and smiled down at him.
"Yes it is... You know Jade... I've been thinking." Davey said as he sat up a tiny bit and rubbed a little at the shoulder he'd been poking.
"Yeah? About what?" Jade asked about half asleep as Davey continued to rub at his shoulder
"I don't remember our original first date... at all."
Jade's eyes widened as he stared down at the singer. "You don't?" //Okay, Jade act calm... Maybe he's just messing with you.//
Davey shook his head. "Nope... In fact until we started dating this time I don't remember ever going out with you... Jade why didn't you tell me? I've been acting like a fool." Davey's eyes flooded with tears as he sat up and wrapped his arms around his knees.
Jade sat up and took a resisting Davey into his arms. "No you haven't... and the truth is... I've been taking advantage of you. I've wanted to be with you for a very long time and I thought you weren't interested. Then this happened. I felt bad, but then I got the suggestion of dating you, or in your case redoing some of our not so great firsts. I love you, Davey... I'm sorry if you don't feel you can be with me after the way I've acted since your accident."
Davey turned and hit Jade on the shoulder as hard as he could, making the guitarist yelp and rub his shoulder. "I love you too... And if I had known you felt that way this could have all happened a lot sooner... When I first woke up and remembered... well... I wanted to run away, because I just knew you were going to hate me... But then I thought about everything you had done and I knew you felt something for me. Now I know how you feel and you know how I feel... Maybe we can just go on with our dating?"
The blush across Davey cheeks made Jade grin and hug him close. "I'd like that... I'll understand if you want to move back into your room now."
Davey shook his head as it lay against Jade's neck. "I like it here... I sleep better here as well."
"Then it's settled. Now can we go back to sleep?" Jade asked smoothing back some of Davey hair that had come out of his sleeping braid.
Yawning Davey nodded. "It is a little early."
Jade eased them back down into the bed and snuggled around Davey as they relaxed back into sleep.

***** Epilogue
Davey smiled down at the sleeping baby girl in his arms. She was so precious with her dusting of darkish hair across her little head. Jade stood beside him and ran a finger over his little cheek with a grin. "Well Smith, I think you actually did something right for a change!"
Smith smiled back at the couple and kept his arm wrapped around Fritch's shoulders. The poor man slumped tiredly against Smith and had a soft look on his face as he watched his brother-in-law and Davey with his newborn daughter. "We tried... And she couldn't have turned out anything but perfect coming from my love." Smith told them as he pressed a kiss to Fritch's head.
Davey handed the tiny girl back to Smith and quietly they left the hospital room. While walking down to their car Jade wrapped his arm around Davey's shoulder and the grin on his face was enough to make everyone seeing it smile back.
On the ride home Davey was strangely silent until they got to the driveway of the house. "Jade, I'm sure you remember what I said on the plane when I had been hit by the light."
Jade thought about it and slowly nodded with a smile. "Yes, I do."
Davey flashed a sultry smile at his lover and fiance of two weeks. "Maybe we should start practicing... We wouldn't want Smith an d Fritch to get ahead of us, now do we?"
Jade shook his head and tried to lung across the seat to grab Davey in the passenger seat, only the dark haired man was out of the car and running for the house as fast as he could.
Jade jumped out of his side and ran after him, forgetting they had left both door open on the car and the keys still in the ignition. He had other things on his mind so it didn't register.
A few hours later Hunter and Adam came home from visiting Smith, Fritch and the baby and gave each other exasperated looks as Hunter grabbed the keys and they closed the door to Jade and Davey's car before retreating into the house to relax and try to ignore their friends having very loud sex upstairs.
