Warnings - This story may contain content that some people will not be comfortable reading. I’m not sure if this will come to pass, but it’s possible, due to the subject matter I’m dealing with.
Notes - Based in modern times, this one is my ode to the KR Cube PV, though it has absolutely nothing to do with it, save for the fact this story is Mafia based, as the PV seemed to be. This started as a one shot offline, and seems to be turning out to be more than that. So far, I only have three parts to this story planned, one written and another in the thought process. And don’t worry, “The Touch of Darkness”, as well as my other stories, will not be forgotten! Read and reply please!
Disclaimer – I don't own Dir en grey ::insert sad face:: This is a work of pure fantasy. No, I've got nothing better to do than to sit around and think of dirty things for two bandmates to do together. I'm aware that the majority of Dir en grey, if not all of them, are heterosexual... but my perverted mind ceases to care about that when it comes to writing. I mean no offense to the band, or to anyone who may read this. I believe strongly in the fact that fanfiction is just that.. fiction, and should be kept on a relatively sane level. But my idea of a sane level might not be everyone's. ::smirks:: This will get really graphic in places. But it will have a plot! Though it didn’t at first, I see one developing before me. So much for my PWP >>; However, if you have a problem reading this, then don't read it.. See the X button at the top of the page? It's there for just that reason!
Now, with all that said and out of the way..
Get'yo happy asses to reading, ne??!!!
Part One – The Blood Price
Toshiya sits on the bed, propped up against the pillows at his back. One arm, long and elegant, was laid atop and across the soft collection. The other was being used to control the ornate lace and silk fan in his hand as he slowly waved it to cool himself. Even if this action was not needed on such a cool evening. He is dressed in his signature material and shades, silks the color of bruises. Black and blue. The curtains around the bed were fastened to the posts to reveal him, silver rosettes of thick rope served to hold the thick black velvet in place. He looks out into the dim room; his kohl lined eyes fixing steadily upon his guest. The blue and black fan slows as he leans his head gently to the side, the ends of his dread locks brushing his bared shoulder. His perfectly arched eyebrow hitches gently as he studies the individual who stands silently a few paces away from the foot of the bed. The figure is small in stature, but he makes up for it in sheer presence, not to mention looks. He stands no taller than 5’3, this figure, though some question if he’s even that measurement – but no one has ever doubted it to his face. Dark liquor eyes watch his host on the bed from a rounded visage. Full, luscious lips are slightly parted, the bottom of which is pierced thrice on the right, once on the left. The soft petal glitters with stainless steel decorations, and left nude besides. No lipstick for him that night. Lately, it was unsurprising. Around the glittering, catty, almond shaped eyes, however, was a bit of black kohl. Not as dainty as Toshiya’s, but much more bold. The dramatic black adding to the intensity of the short man’s already piercing gaze. His face is at once soft, yet strong. Feminine, and masculine. Lately, the figure has been hinting more and more at the latter rather than the former. Toshiya found this side of the individual appealing, even if he missed the more effeminate styles of old from the figure. He studies the figure longingly for a moment or two, thinking on how it was such a pity that the individual should not be here for such happy reasons . . . well, such happy reasons were part of the reason . . .but he had nothing to do with them himself, really. Such a depressing thought. The black and blue doll-like male thought to himself, scanning the figure before him once again. His guest was dressed down that evening. Bleached blonde hair was neat for once, held away from the feral eyes with a few bobby pins near his ears. He wore a pair of thin silver wire framed glasses. Unusual for him not to pick contacts. His clothing consisted of a black gauze shirt, left open to reveal his well-toned upper body. His tattoos were half-visible through the sheer fabric of the sleeves, however. The jeans he wears are tight, showing off the fact he wasn’t small everywhere. Toshiya can’t resist a lustful smile and stare, finding himself once more regretting that the small figure was not there for his entertainment that evening. The bruise colored doll returns his gaze to purer parts of the other’s body, seeing that all of his jewelry was silver, from his rings to the thin necklace held together by a tiny padlock around his throat. The figure’s hands are before him, one clasped over the other, and the bottom one resting atop the handle of an ornamental walking stick, which he does not need. His head is slightly bowed, and as the candlelight flickers in his intense eyes, he watches Toshiya with concealed interest.
“Kyo,” Toshiya smiles as he lays aside the fan a moment, sitting up. The smile grows into a broad grin. “How good of you to . . .”
“Cut the niceties, Toshimasa.” Kyo’s voice is low, his eyes never leaving the pretty form that was lounging on the nearby bed. “Why did you call me?”
“You’re never friendly.” Toshiya pouts, letting his voice hint at a scolding tone. “Well, not anymore, at least . . .” Most would have been offended by the cut off offered by the blonde, but Toshiya knew that Kyo would have wanted his anger, rather than the amusement he was showing. The doll-like man begins to wave the fan again, a small smile replacing the pout.
“Seriously, can the shit please. I was in the middle of business when I got your call. Tell me what you want, so I can get on with my evening.” Kyo sounds bored, one hand moving the a little cane as he looks at the neatly manicured nails of his other, having pulled it away from it’s resting place to view them. He leans on the stick a tiny bit.
“Oh, but you see, that’s the point of the call. Your evening.” Toshiya covers his lower face with the fan, trying not to giggle nervously like a young schoolgirl behind it. Kyo yawns, still trying to look disinterested, though the glimmer of something akin to worry flutters in the pit of his oh so toned belly.
“What do you mean?” He asks, tilting his head lightly, looking as though he were forcing himself not to become distracted from the pretty one. The way Toshiya is covering his mouth annoys him, he knows the other is grinning, he can see the excitement and the worry and the mischief in the other’s eyes. He’s just happy to see them devoid of the malice that would come with punishment. However . . . the worry in them made him linger on the other’s gaze for more than a moment.
“Oh, Kyo, you have no taste for waiting!” Toshiya snickers then he slowly closes his fan, and take a breath. Trying to collect himself for the news he had to break to the other man. In seconds, he is serious. He studies Kyo for a long moment, watching as the other gazes back at him steadily. He can read the blonde like a large print book, he’s known him for so long. Very few others could boast of such a thing.
“I’m not going to like this, am I?” Kyo questions, seeing the way Toshiya was studying him. They had been friends for so long. It was very odd that Toshiya was his boss now. Well, one of them, actually. Toshiya was the ‘mother’ figure of their ‘family’. He was the one who controlled the entertainment business of the city. Kyo’s club, ZAN, for example, fell under Toshiya’s jurisdiction. Kyo was obedient to Toshiya, to the family, and the family watched over Kyo and the peace of his club . . . as well as helping to contribute to all the forms of business that ran through it. Kyo was more than just the club owner, however. He was a member of the family as well, but he held no true title with in it. He was still a valuable member, though . . . and Toshiya, as well as Die – the ‘father’ figure- never seemed to forget that. Or so it seemed until this moment. Slowly, Kyo was realizing that he could infact be viewed as just another pawn. It didn’t matter that Toshiya had not as yet clued him in . . . The look in the blue and black doll’s eyes told him volumes.
“No, you’re not going to.” That statement confirmed his current thoughts. He feels his eyes narrows, but not by much.
“What is it?” Kyo shows no fear, no worry, no interest.
“Kyo.” Toshiya’s voice is calm, low. He sees the fear and worry despite Kyo’s efforts to conceal them in his lowered gaze. He didn’t like this any more than his blonde friend was going to. “As a member under my direct jurisdiction, you are subject to . . . occurrences which are not to be expected to be fulfilled by anyone outside of my hand of the laws.” That was a lie. But there had to be a direct reason given for letting this thing that was requested to happen indeed happen.
“Toshiya . . . stop this and fucking tell me what’s going on.” Kyo has to control himself from growling as his friend pansies about the subject at hand with excuses in the family’s name. “What are you getting at?”
“You’ve been asked for.” Toshiya’s voice is incredibly soft; the kohl lined eyes locked on the small, bleached blonde just beyond the foot of the bed. The beauty is waiting for the storm to break. He sees it just on the horizon of those intense dark eyes.
“What?” The word is a question asked so lowly that the man on the bed must strain to hear it.
“Under contract. You were the price listed for hired help. The deed is done, the price must be paid.”
“Let me get this straight. You sold me. Like a common whore, you sold me to some fuck for a job?” Kyo’s head is bowed, watching Toshiya through lowered lashes, his voice had gotten angrier with each word spoken, the last one being snarled out.
“We needed him Kyo, it was the only way he would agree to work for us. As a member of this family, it is your . . .”
“I’m not some whore you can sell!”
“It’s too late!” Toshiya was off the bed. “And -I- didn’t sell you, it was Die, damn it! I pleaded with him not to do this to you!” He covers his mouth at the emotions he’s showing, even if he is nearly in private with a friend who he has known for most of his lifetime. Emotions were still dangerous . . . especially at times like this, when something –must- be done.
“And still, it’s done!” Kyo growls. One set of fingers is resting on the handle of his cane, the other wrapped about the body shaft.
“Yes.” Another voice sounds from the darkness. Both the beauty and the blonde go still as another figure moves to the middle of the room. Kyo tenses as he feels a knife press into the small of his neck, another blade being pressed to his throat gently, despite the threatening pretense. His fingers let the cane down gently, and he holds it by the handle, gripping it gently. Standing down, knowing he had to if he wanted to live through this moment. “It is done. And if you are wide, dear Kyo, you will do what is right by this family.” Kyo feels the blades press more insistently, his head tilting back a little bit from the light pressure on his throat. “Am I understood?”
“Hai. Die-sama.” Kyo growls, tense in the tall man’s arms. “You’re understood.”
“That’s good to hear.” The taller man purred into Kyo’s ear, the blades slowly moving from the small man’s back and neck, leaving no marks behind in their wake. He then makes Kyo turn to face him. Die studies the blonde for a long moment then looks over the subject’s head to where Toshiya was once again resting on the bed. “Everything is ready, I trust?”
“Hai. Kyo just needs to be dressed. The instructions for the requested price were very specific.” Toshiya is once more waving the fan slowly, his voice cold. The look in his eyes told his red haired lover that he was none too happy with the situation at hand. Knowing this, having known it since it was first mentioned days ago, Die really couldn’t blame him. But, what was done had to be done. It was only proper, only right. To fulfill a term of contract for a hired killer. A killer who could very well cause trouble for their family. Yes, it was best to do what had to be done. Kyo and Toshiya both had to understand that! Besides, it’s not like they’d been asked to present Kyo’s severed head on a silver platter. However, to Toshiya and the blonde in question, that could very well be relatively similar to what was actually happening. Die couldn’t possibly understand why though. After all, he didn’t share the same background as the other two in the room with him did.
“How long will it take?” Die moves away from the blonde, back into the shadows where he had been hiding from the two of them. As he reaches for a decanter of wine, Kyo’s eyes seem to shoot venom at the figure on the bed. The look is so poisonous that it makes Toshiya flinch lightly. He knew what this situation would cost Kyo. The beauty looks away from his old friend, ashamed of what was happening. Die’s voice brings the bed dweller’s attention away from the blue satin sheets on which he was situated. “Toshiya?”
“It shouldn’t be too long.” The figure on the bed states then slowly casts his eyes towards Kyo. “It’s been asked that you dress yourself in the fashion of your past, Kyo.” Toshiya gulps down a breath lightly, watching the flicker of malice that is tinged with fear flit through Kyo’s eyes.
“Is there anything else I should know?” Kyo’s voice is a low monotone. By that time, Die has turned around to watch the two, coming closer to them. He is a shadowy figure on the boarder of dimness and darkness.
“The one asking for you . . .” Toshiya states lightly. “He’s a fan of your old style. That’s all.” He watches Kyo’s eyes close and he turns his own face away as Kyo does the same. This fact struck both of them sharply.
“And now I’m missing out on something.” Die murmurs, hitching one finely plucked eyebrow.
“It’s nothing.” Kyo’s eyes land on him suddenly. “And it won’t be long until I’m ready. I know what is wanted of me.” He feels ready to wretch, but he doesn’t give over to that weakness.
“Very well.” Die nods. “Toshiya will take you to . . .”
“That won’t be necessary. Simply tell me where I am to go. I need no escort.” Kyo’s eyes are bottomless and empty. Die simply nods once more, then gives the blonde the directions to his destination. The prize would meet his buyer in this very mansion, in rooms that formed a suite over on the other side of the residence. Kyo bows to them both, then goes to make his exit. Intent on getting the night over with, and to get the event into the memories he would never recall.
“There’s one more thing.” Toshiya’s voice sounds from the bed lightly, stopping Kyo’s movements. The blonde looks over his shoulder at him.
“Yes?” Kyo hitches his eyebrow, practically glaring at the doll like form on the bed.
“You’re to go unarmed.” Die states before Toshiya could continue. The red head holds out his hands, waiting for the ornate cane. It concealed a stiletto dagger, the blade attached to the handle. “You’ll get it back in the morning Kyo. I swear this to you. It is just part of the contract. And we must obey it.”
Slowly, after a moment, it is handed over. Kyo’s movements are reluctant, hesitant. His eyes hold only annoyance, and none of the fear and the nervousness he feels. Who could have asked for me in such a fashion? Well, he thinks as he turns and begins on his night’s adventure, it seems there’s only one way to find out.
