It's my first fanfic in around two years, my first posted on AFF, and my first to have any kind of "Aww, kissie" stuff in it. Usually I'm all "SWORDS, DEMONS, HACK, SLASH!" and all that stuff. So be nice. xD And welcome me to AFF, dammit.

The fic is named "Powder Snow" after the song by Ayumi Hamasaki. The song has absolutly nothing to do with the story, aside from the fact that there's snow in it. Yeah.

Anyway. FORWARD!
POWDER SNOW
It was winter, and Tokyo was covered in snow. Children all over the city had rejoiced, running around in the streets, having snowball fights and building snowmen. Now, however, night had fallen, and most of the children were now indoors.
Snow was falling again, a fresh layer of the white powder falling over the snow that still covered the streets. Niikura Kaoru deceided to take a walk. He loved walking in the snow. He didn't get a chance to do so earlier, what with all the children outside throwing snowballs at anything that moved. He may as well have walked outside shouting "I AM YOU PERSONAL TARGET! HIT ME!". Now that pretty much all of the children were back inside their homes, however, Kaoru was walking through the snow covered park, bundled up warmly in his coat and gloves, random thoughts flashing through his mind.
He smiled slightly as he remembered the reaction his bassist had given when he saw the snow through the window at practise earlier that day. Toshiya had stopped playing his bass right in the middle of "dead tree" and had given a loud squeal.

"SNOW! Look, look! Kyo-kun, Shin-chan, it's SNOWING! Lookit, Die-kun!"

The happy bassist had then done an odd little dance, oblivious to the amused looks his bandmates were giving him, and then proceeded to jump on Kaoru. "Kaoru-saaaan, can we stop practise for a few minutes and go out in the snow? Onegaiii?" he had whined, giving his best cute face, and pouting when his leader-sama said no.
Kaoru laughed quietly to himself. Toshiya had looked so cute earlier, that smile on his pretty face, and his lovely eyes shining with happiness. The guitarist sighed happily at the memory, and then shook himself. 'Stop that, Niikura.' he scolded himself.
Kaoru had only taken a few more steps when a snowball suddenly hit his shoulder. He turned, getting ready to shout at the damn kids, but nobody was there. Frowning slightly, he turned back around, but only a moment later a second snowball hit him in the back of the head. He spun around again, staring around at the trees. Then he heard it - a slightly muffled, happy giggle. Kaoru knew that giggle immedietly, he heard it almost everyday.

"Toshiya...!" he called out.
His reply was a snowball right in the face. Toshiya had stepped out from behind a tree, giggling madly when he saw Kaoru's face covered in snow. The guitarist spluttered and brushed the snow from his face, shooting Toshiya a glare.
"Aww, don't look at me like that, Kao-Kao! It's not my fault you're such an easy target!" the bassist laughed.

Kaoru huffed and stood with his arms folded. He waited for ages for the kids to go indoors so he wouldn't have to get pelted by snowballs, and he ends up getting pelted with snowballs anyway. 'Oh well,' he mused. 'Two can play at this game.' He smirked slightly as he bent towards the ground, quickly forming a snowball of his own, before straightening up and hurling it at his bandmate.
The snowball caught Toshiya square in the chest, who stopped laughing, but still had a playful glint in his eye. "Haha, it's on now!" he exclaimed happily, making another snowball to throw at his leader-sama.
Soon snowballs were flying everywhere. Kaoru had taken refuge behind a tree, and was hurling snowballs at Toshiya from behind it. He poked his head around the trunk to launch another one, but he saw that the bassist was no longer there. "Huh?" he muttered, stepping out from behind his tree. Suddenly a large quantity of snow was smashed down on his head, followed by maniacal giggling as Toshiya ran away.

"DAMMIT, TOTCHI!" yelled Kaoru. "I'll get you for that!"
He quickly made another snowball and ran after the bassist, quickly catching up with him. Kaoru grinned wickedly, grabbing the front of Toshiya's pants and shoved the snowball down them, underwear and all.
Toshiya's eyes widened and he let out a small shriek, plunging his hands down his pants to try and dislodge the freezing snow, not caring how he looked. "Fuck! Cold! Fuck!" he whimpered over and over again. He glared at Kaoru. "That was NOT funny, Niikura!" he said angrily, before he stormed off to a bench and, after brushing off some snow, sat down, arms folded and a pout on his face.
Kaoru's grin had faded. He had fogotten how temperamental Toshiya could be. Then again, he reasoned, he wouldn't like freezing cold snow to be shoved down his pants, either. He scuffed the ground with his shoe for a moment before sighing and walking over to the bassist, brushing some more snow off the bench before sitting beside him.
"Totchi-chan... I'm sorry." he offered. Toshiya merely deepened his pout, turning his head away from Kaoru, who sighed again and leant round to look into Toshiya's face. "Totchi-chaaan, gomen nasaaaai! Please forgive me!" he said, in his best whiny voice, giving a pout of his own.

Toshiya weakened, smiling slightly. "Baka." he said, whacking Kaoru on the head softly.

"Sooo... am I forgiven?" asked Kaoru, still pouting.

"Oh, I suppose." replied Toshiya, with a airy voice, trying to sound as if he couldn't care less. Then he laughed and grinned at Kaoru.

"Haha, you can't stay mad at me!" Kaoru excalimed, giving the bassist a friendly push, who's only reply was to stick his tongue out at him. The guitarist laughed and slung an arm over Toshiya's shoulders.
Toshiya giggled and snuggled up to Kaoru, not really registering what he was doing, and not really caring. He gave a small sigh and then moved his head, looking up at Kaoru with a smile on his lips. The smile faded slightly when he saw Kaoru's face. The older man looked as though he was struggling with something, biting his lip and looking down at Toshiya with something similar to confusion in his eyes.

"Kaoru?" Toshiya asked, concered. "Are you... okay?"

Kaoru blinked, and his eyes seemed to clear, resolve now showing in them. Toshiya's breath hitched as Kaoru slowly lowered his head down, stopping a mere centimetre away from Toshiya's face. After a moments hesitation, he pressed his lips to the bassist's.
Toshiya's eyes widened. Kaoru... Kaoru was kissing him! Toshiya battled with his confusion, trying to decide what to do. Just as he began to move his lips against Kaoru's, the older man started to pull away. Toshiya lifted a hand to the back of Kaoru's head, gently holding him him place. Kaoru smiled slightly against Toshiya's mouth and contineud with the kiss.
Kaoru ran his tongue lightly against Toshiya's bottom lip, silently asking to be granted entrance. The bassist shivered slightly, opening his mouth to allow Kaoru's tongue inside as he manovered himself to sit on Kaoru's lap. Their tongues danced together slowly as Kaoru wrapped his arms securely around Toshiya's waist, and Toshiya wound his arms around the guitarist's neck. Kaoru nipped lightly at Toshiya's bottom lip, causing the bassist to give a small whimper and gently thread his fingers through Kaoru's hair, pulling him even closer, if that was possible.
Toshiya was the first to break the kiss, needing air. He breathed in deeply, staring into Kaoru's eyes. He had a light blush on his cheeks and his lips were still slightly parted. Kaoru gave a small sigh, running his fingers through the bassist's hair. "So beautiful..." he mumured, causing Toshiya's blush to deepen, though he still didn't take his eyes away from Kaoru's. After a few moments he lowered his head to rest on Kaoru's shoulder, burying his face into his neck. Kaoru rested his head on top of Toshiya's and they stayed like that for a few minutes before Toshiya broke the silence.
"Kaoru..." he said softly, raising his head to look at Kaoru again. "I... I've been struggling with this for a while, not knowing what my feelings were, but... but now I think I know..."

Kaoru cocked his head to the side slightly, looking at Toshiya with concern in his eyes, and something else. Was it... hope? Toshiya didn't know, but he took a deep breath, determined to say what he had been struggling with for a long time.

"Kaoru, I... I think... I... I love you." he whispered, before burying his face into Kaoru's neck again, eyes screwed shut, afraid of Kaoru's reaction.

Kaoru, however, was smiling. He tightened his arms around the bassist, who looked up at Kaoru shyly, a lone tear falling down his cheek.
Kaoru wiped the tear away, still smiling, and said, "I love you too, Totchi-chan... I love you."

-- There you go. I don't think that was too bad for my first fic in over two years. I was a bit worried about how it would turn out, seeing as I've never written any kind of fluff or romance before, but I think it turned out pretty good. However, I'll leave that to the far more more talented authors to decide. *points to review link thing* xD Hope you enjoyed it. ^^
