Missed You Missed This

His fingers splayed over the black and white keys moving fast and slow as he came up with the perfect melody for a new single. He stopped momentarily and thought about it for second before he nodded and continued to play his hand moving to the music stand beside him searching for his bottled water. Stopping and taking a drink he smiled as he looked up and noticed the other sitting at the table his foot tapping to the beat he had been playing at.

Blonde hair that was once brown shadowed his face as he wrote down lyrics humming lightly to himself. It had been a seven years since they had been together inside a studio. Sighing quietly he smiled slightly as he remembered their last concert together it had both very exciting and sad. Closing his eyes the memory was as fresh as it had been back then. The white balloons and confetti moving with the crowd of screaming fans as they ran through the crowd the security after them.

He chuckled to himself as he remembered how the head security guy had yelled at them afterwards about being irresponsible and careless. They had just shrugged the man off and continued on their way to the dressing room…

~Flashback~

“Dai!” Hiro called as he ran up to catch up with him. “Yes?” he answered turning around his keytar hanging off his back as he looked back platinum blond hair plastered slightly to his sweaty face. Stopping a little short of him Hiroyuki bent over regaining his breath before speaking again “Listen I’m…” “Don’t Hiro I understand we’ll talk later right now I’m sodden with sweat” Daisuke smiled as he pointed to his unbuttoned jacket and shirt. Hiro laughed and nodded “I agree I bet I look like I took a swim” Daisuke nodded as he took in the drenched vocalist.

Brown hair plastered to his neck wet with sweat as well as the rest of the brown locks. His thin white shirt stuck like a second. “Yeah” Daisuke agreed and then turned to leave “I’ll see you in about twenty minutes” and the brown haired singer moved quickly to his room.

Sighing Daisuke closed his eyes to stop them from overflowing with tears. He quickly turned and headed to his own room where he took refuge in the nice lukewarm water.

Fresh and dressed in non-sweaty clothes Daisuke made his way out of the room. Walking down the crowded hall of technicians and managers he found Hiro who was enjoying a cold bottle of water. “Hey here they are still cold” he held the bottle out which was quickly taken and opened. “Feels great” Daisuke smiled as he closed the bottle after drinking more than half of it in one gulp. “Yeah that’s what I said.”

“Excuse me we’re trying to get the towers down and we need everyone out of the way” a man said as he ran up to them. “Yeah sure” Hiro nodded and the two headed down the hall to where their security detail was waiting for them. “Guess we’re heading for the post concert party” Hiro sighed his voice sounding solemn. “Yes…Hiro I’m sorry about what happened with the whole rumors. I know that you said it was okay but I know it bothers you to some extent that so many believe you to be a homosexual” “It’s not exactly that” Hiro murmured and drank the rest of his water “It’s just…I wanted to try something different on my own.”

“A solo career?” “Yes” Hiro affirmed looking over at the platinum blond “Daisuke it has nothing to do with you and the whole rumors started just after we declared we were going to break up the band.” Nodding Daisuke placed his hand on the other’s shoulder. “It’s okay you can explore your solo career it wont stop me from playing music” Daisuke grinned as he let go of Hiro “Wise ass no need to rub it in” Hiro pouted.

“It’s not like we wont talk to each other again Hiro. We can still keep in touch after all we have each other’s phone numbers and know where we live” Daisuke tried to make the other feel better as the dark eyes began to shimmer with tears. “Yeah it’ll be fine” Hiro nodded “Maybe we’ll even get back together.” Lips trembling slightly Daisuke smiled as the tears ran down his cheeks along with his friend’s own…

~End Flashback~

“Daisuke!” a hand startled him from his reverie, wiping away the tears that had slipped out of his eyes. “Are you okay Dai?” “Yeah it’s nothing” Daisuke smiled as he looked up into smiling brown eyes. Watching Daisuke stand Hiro yelled “You’re such a bad liar!” as he followed the producer to another synthesizer. Daisuke stopped and turned around eyes shimmering with tears. Letting out a breath he smiled at the understanding the look that was on his best friend’s face. “I’ve missed you so much” he gushed out and hugged the other to him. Hiro smiled as his own eyes filled with tears “I’ve missed you too” he said his arms wrapped tightly around the slightly shorter male.

“Now I think enough sappiness will do us some good” Hiro laughed as he let go of the other who nodded “Yeah okay so what are we naming this song?” he asked pressing play on the mixing board which had a pre recording of the lyrics and melody. Hearing it intently Hiroyuki smiled “How ‘bout Only the Love Survive?” Daisuke nodded and grinned at Hiro “Sounds good it’s a keep then” he said and quickly wrote down the name on the CD case. The two looked at each other as they played the song again “Yeah it’s a keep Access is back!” Hiroyuki smiled as he handed a bottle of fresh water to Daisuke.

“Yep can’t wait to release our first single back together” Daisuke grinned as he moved to play around with the switch board.

“I really missed this” Hiro said as he went back to the table to finish writing the lyrics to their next single.
