now, in Miyavi's words: Are you ready to rock???
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Rei?’ Miyavi said, his voice slightly muffled by the noisiness of his background.
Sitting at the back of one of PS Company’s limos, Rei struggled to light a cigarette whilst trying to keep her mobile phone to her ear using her shoulder. ‘Yup.’
‘Where are you?’ Miyavi asked.
‘I’m coming, I just got out of the studio, I’ll be there in like ten minutes.’ Rei said, putting her lighter back in her handbag, grabbing hold of the phone with left hand, her right hand played with the cotton filter of the cigarette.
‘And Ruki and the others?’ Miyavi asked.
‘They’re in their own limo, they haven’t left the studio yet, they’ll be there in an hour they said.’ Rei replied before placing the cotton filter between her lips, taking a mediocre puff of the object.
‘Alright, I’ll see you soon.’ Miyavi hung up on his flatmate.
About twenty minutes later, finally Rei stepped out of the limo, now parked in some basement belonging to a hip club in Shibuya. She made for the staircase leading out of the basement, up into the club itself, where the party raged, celebrating Miyavi’s anniversary with PS Company.
It seemed like everyone in the J-Rock business in Japan was invited, not only those signed to the indie PS Company, but also those signed to Nippon Crown, Haunted Records and more.
Rei spotted Miyavi seated in a snug corner complete with bright pink ultra-sized couches, Shou of Alice Nine sat on his right whilst an unrecognisable Camui Gackt sat on Miyavi’s left, whispering something to his ear.
‘Rei!’ Miyavi jumped off the couch as Rei advanced towards them, squeezing her way through the dancing crowd. ‘Hey…’ He wrapped his tattooed arms around the girl who’d just arrived.
She was dressed in a pair of tight white leather pants, a pair of yellow Converse All Stars and a pink office shirt buttoned halfway up, showing a bright turquoise corset which worked more than well for her petite and thin figure. Her hair, long and black looked playful with occasional pink, green, blue and red streaks. Layered and fringed in all the right places, framing her face perfectly, highlighting her grey eyes and pale soft complexion, accompanied with neo-visual style make-up, in other words extreme eye-make up was the key to her “fit” to the J-Rock scene, even if she wasn’t a musician.
She was a model, who regularly starred in PVs for a few different J-Rock bands and artists. PS Company had decided to put her in contract, she was their official “PV Girl”, so far she’d done a Miyavi PV and had just finished filming a GazettE PV.
‘Hey,’ she gave Miyavi a peck on the cheek. ‘Hey Shou.’ She said, now advancing towards Shou, who hadn’t moved from the couch.
‘Hey.’ Shou got up to give her a quick hug before sitting back down.
‘Rei,’ Miyavi took her left hand and held it in his. ‘I want you to meet someone.’ He smiled, glancing towards Gackt who sat still, watching the girl, observing every inch of her body. ‘Gackt, Rei, Rei, Gackt.’ He introduced the two to each other.
‘Hello…’ Gackt said, his voice low and elegant as usual. He took her right hand and bowed a little to kiss the back of it.
‘Um, hi…’ Rei blushed, as Gackt let go of her hand.
‘Do you want a drink?’ Miyavi asked her.
‘Sure.’ Rei nodded.
‘I’ll be back.’ Miyavi smiled to her, letting go of her hand before disappearing somewhere towards the bar in the middle of the club.
Gackt reclaimed his seat whilst Rei took Miyavi’s seat between Gackt and Shou.
‘Where’s Ruki?’ Shou asked, aware she’d spent the day with the GazettE boys, filming their new PV.
‘He’s coming, they’ll all be here in half an hour, except for Reita, he didn’t feel so good, I think he said he was just going home.’ Rei replied, trying as hard as she could to keep glancing back at Gackt, who looked almost edible in his black leather pants, black leather shoes and a marching band jacket, unbuttoned revealing a crimson red shirt with his now short black hair.
‘Ahh, poor Reita.’ Shou chuckled. ‘Too much drinking is never good, you should really see all five of them drunk together… it’s an extraordinaire that they’re all without some sort of brain damage.’
‘I’d say they’ve all got something wrong with their brains, we all do, if you’re in this business, you’ve definitely got some sort of defect in your head.’ Gackt laughed.
‘That is also true…’ Shou laughed.
‘That makes me a little defective up there too?’ Rei asked, laughing along with the two men.
‘Well, you’re not a musician, technically that either makes you either worse or better off than we are…’ Gackt chuckled.
‘What are you three laughing about?’ Miyavi returned with two cocktail glasses filled with fluoro green cocktail.
‘Ah…’ Rei got up and took one of the glasses off Miyavi’s hand, allowing Miyavi to reclaim his seat between Gackt and Shou.
‘Come here…’ Miyavi patted his lap, gesturing for Rei to sit on him.
She sat comfortably on her friend’s lap, sipping the green cocktail.
Gackt glanced at her, a surge of jealousy appeared in his head, though quickly disappearing – Miyavi with an exceptionally attractive girl on his lap. The idea was almost painful – usually it was Gackt himself with the exceptionally attractive girl on his lap.
Rei leaned her back against Miyavi’s chest, leaning her head on his as he wrapped a free hand around her waist protectively.
There wasn’t anything between them, they’d been friends since before Miyavi joined Due le Quartz, she moved into his place about a month ago after she got the job at PS Company – she had to move out of the rented apartment in Yokohama and move further inside Tokyo to be more practical. Miyavi offered her to move in and she took up his offer happily – she always saw Miyavi as an older brother.
‘How long have you two known each other?’ Gackt couldn’t help but ask.
‘A long time…’ Miyavi smiled proudly.
‘Are you sure there’s nothing going on?’ Gackt chuckled in disbelief – they just looked too comfortable with each other.
‘Oh Gackt, come on…’ Miyavi chuckled.
‘Ruki!’ Shou seemed to have spotted Ruki and immediately jumped off the couch and disappeared into the crowd of people in front of them.
Rei got off of Miyavi and sat in Shou’s spot.
‘Why do you ask?’ Rei asked Gackt suspiciously.
‘Just wondering…’Gackt shrugged.
‘Whatever. I’m going to go say hello to kawaii little Kai.’ Miyavi spotted Kai’s hair amongst the sea of people and got up, disappearing into the sea of people like Shou did.
‘Do you play music at all?’ Gackt asked Rei, filling in the void after Miyavi and Shou left.
‘Well, I play the bass okay, Myv’s teaching me on the acoustic guitar, and I sing okay.’ Rei told him, though keeping her eyes on the sea of people, avoiding looking the extremely desirable man in the eye.
‘How come you don’t join a band or something, rather than just star in PVs.’ Gackt asked.
‘Well, I’m a girl, and in this Neo-Visual era of J-Rock, it’s just a little hard for females, and there’s just no way in the world I’d sing J-Pop, so I’d rather be in the Neo-Visual scene as a PV Girl than being a musician in the J-Pop scene.’ Rei smiled, still avoiding the man’s enchanting eyes.
‘What’s wrong with J-Pop?’ Gackt asked, slightly offended as he is sometimes classified as J-Pop.
‘Nothing, it’s just not my thing.’ Rei shrugged, finally looking in the man’s eyes apologetically.
He smirked – she’d fallen into his trap.
His eyes seemed like they held some sort of hypnotic power, she couldn’t help but feel a little hot and slightly flustered. It was a little too much, seeing as he was inches away from her, she couldn’t physically feel him, but she’d never felt so aroused before in her life.
He could tell what she was thinking but said nothing but continued to look her in the eye, smiling.
She prayed that Miyavi would hurry up and come back, but it seemed like Gackt was quick to think that Miyavi might indeed come back, so he got up off the couch.
‘Would you like to go for a walk?’ He asked her.
Holy shit. She thought, drinking the rest of her drink in one go, feeling the green liquid warming her throat as it travelled down her insides, she nodded and got up, placing the now empty cocktail glass on the coffee table in front of the couch.
Gackt led her through a door, which led to the club’s backyard.
A nice simple garden with a few maple trees and a soft rug of grass contrasted the bright pink insides of the club.
Gackt only wanted one thing – he wanted this girl for himself.
But she was different – he hardly knew her, but he wanted her so bad, not just as another girl another fuck, but he wanted her to stay, there was a certain thing about her that was oddly appealing, and it wasn’t just the fact that she was Miyavi’s flatmate and that she looked like she belonged to Miyavi.
He wondered if she knew what she was thinking, whilst she wondered if he was thinking of taking advantage of her by taking her out here, away from the party – not that she minded the idea at all, in fact she was hoping so, she’d been so single for so long, she hadn’t done anything with anyone for so long she could probably pass as a virgin – and what better man to take away her renewed virginity?
