Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. I do not know Gackt. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
A/N: Ok, I’m a big fan of Hyde/Gackt, and thought I’d take my own shot at a possibly continuing story. Please bear with me considering I have never written about them or a story like this so go easy one me!
Ok, if I owned those two god only knows what would happened behind closed doors lol I do however own the song that is portrayed in this story. So don’t sue!
Chapter 1: Winning ticket
The rain was coming in fast now. Only an hour to go and the concert would be starting. Half of New York was standing outside of the theatre and he was one of them. Of course dressed in one of his disguises so he could blend in with the rest of the crowd.
“I’m taking a small break.”
That is what he had told the recording manager in Suzicix studios (not a real thing but hey this is my story). Before they had a chance to protest, he had walked out.
That was almost a month ago. Ever since then, the only thing on his mind was on person. Ever since Moonchild, he hadn’t even talked to the other man. That had been nearly 2 years ago, but to him it felt like 2 centuries. He looked up to see the crowd slowly progressing towards the entrance of the theatre. There were two separate lines; one for purchasing tickets and one where you present an already purchased ticket. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a ticket he had bought from one of the other members.
By the time he had reached the inside and pushed his way to the stage, nearly 40 minutes had past. The set up was not surprising. The drums were up on a suspended platform, glistening in the overhead spotlights. On each side of the stage were similar platforms, with steps leading up to them. Microphones were placed on each of them. In the center of the stage stood a single microphone. This display was unlike their usual appearances but it was expected nonetheless.
All of this thoughts were shattered as the screaming of the crowd filled his ears and he looked up to see the group progress on the stage, Yuhikiro took his place behind the drums, Ken walked out with a sapphire blue electric guitar, and tetu walked out with a sleek black bass.
Then he came, appearing form the billowing dry iced smoke and lights. No surprise he as carrying something, but it wasn’t until he was in full view did the crowd laugh.
It was a large white tiger. He placed in front of his microphone and took the singing device from it’s stand, “Are you ready?” he screamed in the microphone.
It was their new tour in America, and they were blasting off with an old favorite Ready Steady Go!
The crowd was singing along, including him. He knew this song almost better then the man himself. After that came Link, Lost Heaven. But then the crowd began to quiet down and he walked to the front of the stage, “Ok, everyone since this is a special show tonight, we are having a little contest. But first we need all of you to quiet down.” He requested and surprisingly the theatre grew quiet, with small murmurs, scattered here and there, “That’s better. Ok, those of you who kept your tickets pull them out. If you noticed the ticket, collectors placed the stubs in a large bucket. Now what I am going to do is draw a stub from that bucket and who ever has the same ticket will have a chance to come up here and sing a song of your choice with is. And if you don’t know any of our songs, then you can still come up. Now please lower the bowl.”
The crowd looked up to see another platform being lowered with a large black bowl. The platform stopped just above him, “A little lower please!” the bowl came down to the ground.
“That’s cheating Hyde.” Tetsu pointed out.
“Raise it up till I say stop.” The leader responded and the platform slowly rose up from the ground. Right when it was shoulder with him he waved his hands, “Stop!” and the platform came to a halt. He reached in and began moving the ticket stubs around to mix them up and slowly pulled out one, “Ok everyone, so there is no mix up, the one with the winning ticket is to please raise their hand and theirs only. Everyone else please keep your hands lowered.” He scanned the text on the stub, “The numbers are 2287915645.”
He looked at his ticket and gasp, “No way.”
“Do we have a winner?”
This had to be fate. Nothing else could explain it. Slowly he raised his hand and waved it in the air.
“Look over there in the right center. We have a winner. Get up here pal!”
He slowly made his way to the front of the stage and presented the ticket to the security guard and with help was hoisted up over the barring wall. He walked up the stairs and made his way over to the center of the stage.
“Now, first off may I ask who is my special, vocalist tonight?”
“You know who I am, Hyde.” He said removing his hood and shaking his blonde hair free.
“Gackt!”
“Yes, Hyde, long time no see.” Seconds later the entire theatre blasted out with screams of disbelief and excitement
Hyde was almost speechless. It wasn’t until the roar of the crowd returned did he remember where he was, “Well, rules are rules, what song?”
Gackt smiled, “You should know.”
Hyde only nodded, “Ok, for those of you who do not have our newest album, this particular song will be new to you.” He said looking at the screaming crowd and then to his band mates before handing Gackt a microphone hidden in the mouth of the white tiger.
Yuhikiro tapped his drums sticks together counting them in and the band began to play.
After a long intro Hyde placed the microphone to his lips and began to sing.
Summer time has gone again.
But you still chose to hang on
How is it that couldn’t see
The truth from right and wrong
Only time can change the fact
The world won’t stop it’s course
But only you can make the choice
For better or for worse
Gackt stepped forward and began to sing the second stanza with Hyde vocalizing in the background…
Couldn’t you accept the fact?
Perfect I’ll never be.
Make the right decisions,
Don’t leave that up to me.
Hard as it has made itself
The reason’s very clear
I don’t want to face the fact
I miss you when you’re not here.
The two of them stepped forward this time singing in unison first then pulling out a harmonizing display.
Let’s try to make the most of it
And let it run it’s course
We might as well give up you once told me
But that would make it worse
Although the road is long and hard
Impossible it can’t be
How else would I have known the fact
That you were always there for me.
Let’s try to make the most of it
The world will understand
I won’t ever accept the fact
If you leave ever again.
Although the truth is right in front of us
We chose to glance away
Why make the choice they want us to,
Let’s make it our own way.
They repeated the chorus again and the second verse in unison and finishing up with the two of them vocalizing in harmony before the song ended.
The crowd roared with excitement and the Gackt walked off backstage and watched the rest of the concert from there. Once the show was over Ken, Tetsu, and Yuhikiro greeted him. All exchanging normal, greetings before Hyde appeared before him, “I thought you were back in Osaka recording you new album.” Was all he said.
“Well, it’s nice to see you too.” Gackt responded turning away.
“I’m sorry it’s just I never expected to see you here in America. I didn’t think I’d see you at all since…” Hyde trailed off. He thought back to the small argument the two of them had before parting ways after the showing and after party of moonchild. After he brushed the path from his mind, “So what are you doing here?” wondering if his best friend was thinking the same thing he as only moments ago.
Gackt whipped out his cigarettes and lighting one up, “I had to get away. The pressure my manager was putting on me was almost too much. He knows how irritated I get when they don’t let me do thing they I want to.”
“In other words they keep trying to run your life.” Hyde stated simply. He knew what his co-singer was referring too. Back on the set of moonchild the two of them often argued about little thing, like who stood where, and how a line was supposed to be delivered. Hyde didn’t care as long as the scene was shot. But Gackt was another story.
“I guess, I’m starting to wind down from it, but still I can’t help it. I’m a perfectionist.” Gackt responded shrugging, “Look I’m getting hungry. Care to join me? My treat.” He offered.
Hyde looked up to see the rest of the band already engaged in deep conversation and smiled, “I guess, it will give is time to catch up.” He responded following the Gackt through the back stage door, which was of limits to the audience and followed him toward his car, “A rental? Why no limo?”
“I was trying to keep my identity a secret until you pulled out that little contest. To be honest I almost wasn’t going to come up.” Gackt admitted.
Hyde pouted, “Why not?”
“Because I was afraid of your reaction if you saw me again.”
A/N: Wow, trust me this will get really good after a while, but please stick with me. If you want me to keep going then at least 2 reviews are required. Thanks again!
