Well, here I am again. It's been a sorta-kinda-almost long hiatus, but I promised... Kinda. I just grew the cahones to put this up. I have to apologize in advance, this story was started with very vague writing, and also last year... so it's not that good, but it's decent. I hope. I'm in the process of a rewrite, so I may take this off and repost. *Crossing of fingers*
Just let me know what you think.
*~*~*~*~*
Sophomore year was brutal, even though it had started minutes ago for Luca Miller. It was practically hell on earth already. She huffed her small frame through the crowd of people gathered at the entrance to the school, just being rude and talking loudly. She finally got through and made her way to her locker.
Luca passed a mirror on her way and what reflected was entirely different from the year previous. Her hair was cut jaggedly, dyed a light shade of brown and she got new, ‘Emo-kid’ glasses, as she called them. Her eyes were the same, though. Her brilliant shade of green. She always thought that was her best feature. She walked right past a group of people gathered in the corner, her friends from last year. They hushed as she passed. There was a brief period at the end of the year when all of her friends abandoned her because of the rumors. Rumors that were based on fact.
She didn’t give them one look and she ran up the stairs quickly, taking them two at a time. Inside, there was a pain in her gut. She was no longer accepted with hardly anyone but her best friend, Kelly Chow. Obviously, by the last name, she was Asian. One-fourth Philippine. She had short black hair and the coldest blue eyes on anyone, but she was actually really nice and hadn’t paid attention to the rumors. She knew cold, hard fact.
When Luca finally got to her destination, she sighed in relief, but then growled as the bell rang. She had five minutes to figure out where the hell her first class was.
‘What a wonderful start to the school year!’ She thought sarcastically, heading off to the second floor. She passed the entrance and wondered where Gerard was. He should have been on the bus… ‘I’ll guess he’ll show up later…’
With that, she ran up the stairs and into her new math classroom. Nothing new. Evil teacher, some people she knew, mostly she didn’t. Of course, one of the few who stood by Luca was Taylor Grange, and she was in that class.
Her next class wasn’t any better. An advanced English class. But, surprisingly, Gerard was in that class. He gave her a huge hug and a kiss and she winced in pain when he dragged his arm across her back. He didn’t notice. His eyes were dull and she realized why he was late. She bit her lip and sat down. He really took on the appearance of a stoner. Long shaggy black hair and dull hazel eyes, always wearing some 80’s metal t-shirt, his friend Bob Bryar was of the same stereotype. Long blonde hair, blue eyes and a ‘skater.’ Gerard put his arm around her back and she sighed inaudibly. This was going to be a long year.
Her third hour was okay; Taylor was in that class as well. From there, seeing as it was a half day, she went to her fourth hour. This was what she was most looking forward to: her drama class. She ran into the classroom and the teacher handed her a syllabus. He was peculiar looking, but cool nonetheless. He had black hair in a Mohawk style and a hole in the left side of his lip where a ring went. Just barely under his long-sleeved button up shirt, she could see sleeves of tattoos. His eyes were what caught her attention first, however. They were the color of molten gold, but green, and yet brown… He smiled at her and watched her sit down.
“Hello! I’m Mr. Frank Iero. You can call me Mr. Iero, Iero or.. Well, God.” He said cockily. Luca snorted. Her freshmen friend, Anna Gleason, cackled next to her. She was small, blonde, blue-eyed, and the complete opposite of her stereotype. Her older sister was one of Luca’s closest friends. Though she looked nothing like Anna, Lydia was just as cool. She had long brown hair and blue eyes and was a bit taller. “I hope all of you in here are ready to have fun, because that is what this class is going to be about. That, and getting over your fear of the stage. Well, let me take a quick attendance…”
He called out the names and looked up, placing faces to the words on his computer screen. He got to Miller, Luca, and she raised her hand. He looked up and smiled at her, locking eyes. His smile faded a little and shook his head, looking away quickly. ‘That was weird…’ Luca thought, refusing to look back at him. Anna chattered on and on about how her summer was, how much her mom sucks, and such. Luca was away in her mind, where she had been the whole summer. She nodded and chuckled every once in a while, but that was it. The exchange between her and the teacher had confused her.
She was brought out of her mind when the bell rang. She jumped up and practically ran out of the room. She went down to her Biology class, then to her Spanish with Gerard.
When it finally came, she hugged him extra hard and kissed him on the cheek.
“How are your classes?” He asked, sitting next to her. She shrugged.
“They’re okay. I think drama is going to be the best part, though. Other than the classes with you.” She said, adding the last as an afterthought. He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“Of course, that’s right!” He said cockily. But he wasn’t messing around, like Mr. Iero. Gerard actually believed he was God.
Luca shrunk down into a ball and listened as Gerard rattled on about nothing. Those eyes from earlier came back to haunt her. He was attractive, yes. He seemed.. Scared at that moment. But not. She couldn’t place it at all.
Those eyes were the most beautiful she had seen, by far. The eyes of a God.

And, lastly, any character likenesses to real people and events is strictly coincidence, and should not be taken seriously. Seriously. :)
